There was something to be said about taking the unconventional route. She got a lot of practice in with her puny dagger. Spiders of varying sizes attempted to drop down on her, or trip her up, and one even managed to get her to step on its lair before she realized that it was there. But her reflexes were faster than it's strike and she'd managed to back peddle just in time. She didn't fancy have three inch long fangs stuck in her foot after all. The down side to it was that she was splattered in gooey blood that was drying into a sticky mess and she was rapidly loosing her patience for this hunting nonsense.
Even when she was off looking for dragons she had more things to occupy her time. Muttering curse to herself Elleth tried to wipe off the gore on her dagger with some leaves, only really succeeding on smearing the blood around. With an irritated hiss she dropped the soiled and shredded leaves and pulled a small water pouch from her hip bag and took a sip from it. She wasn't hungry yet, but as the night wore on she knew she would be. But she was thirsty and she was afraid that she'd have to turn back simply because she ran out of drinkable water.
There was no way she'd try to clean up the swamp water, it was filled with far to much fungus and other green things to be safe to drink, even after boiling it. She didn't want to be the one to turn into a swamp plant thing after ingesting its seeds or some such nonsense.
Uneasily she replugged her skin and stored it, not wanting to chance something contaminating her water. There was a rustling sound behind her, and turning around, showed that the space was empty. A chill crept down her spine at the sight. Where did the spider corpse go? A quick check of the area showed nothing, no blood trail, no disturbed leaves. Nada.
She chewed on her lip and decided that maybe moving on wasn't a bad thing.
