I have some plot burning questions!!!
➨Is Ivan's time-traveling plot a one-off storyline, or can we hope for more events exploring Gaia's past while the Airship Saga continues? ➨How likely are we to have an event that actually ties into the plot ever again?
➨Will we ever use the battle system developed for last Halloween again? It was awesome and I want to be able to use it.
Ivan's time-traveling storyline is an event storyline that won't be mentioned in the Manga, however it will include backstory for some of the oldest citizens.
Very likely! Chances are 50/50- We don't want to alter the plot in anyway to wrap around an event so we need the right moment in the storyline to have Gaians participate.
We have been revisiting elements from the old Battle System, but we will be using new code moving forward!

01) About this Halloween kickstarter we have right now:
Do you already have a lot of stuff planned for the Halloween event, and all of this stuff in the global tiers just extra prizes/games/achievements that are unnecessary to add?
Or, Because we can't seem to make it to third tier, even after almost 2 weeks, are we going to miss out on a lot of the content that was planned for the event, but now we are not going to get because we can't donate enough?
02) Also, in regards to kickstarters in general:
Do you think it maybe possible to stop having them for major gaia events like Halloween, Christmas, Easter, ect. please? Some of us have gotten into the habit of hoarding our gold for the events themselves since they have become a bit of a gold sinks in their own right. Minor events like saving Louie and H.R. Wesley are okay.
Or, at least, give us a chance to recover gold in between kickstarters, please?
We have the event planned out with extra things users can unlock by hitting the global tiers. We believe that users will be able to hit all the tiers, even the gold sinks that had slow starts eventually got hit.
We probably won't stop doing these gold sink events for major events as it allows us to provide you guys awesome things for events while helping us sink gold in the economy.

As someone has already stated in this thread (if you've already answered their's I didn't see it), events used to be really fun for the entire community and involved the Gaia story, but recently it seems as if those of us who don't have real money to spend on that sort of get the shaft.
What ways are the staff planning to ensure everyone involved has equal opportunity for enjoyment in future events?
It's a balancing act. For the Halloween event, basic actions will cost minimal gold, if any, to do.

Our attempts to make the event more fun for everyone include the following steps:
- We have a developer actively working on the bugs that many users are experiencing. - One of the major complaints was that Angels were instantly dying on the forums, so we have created a private subforum for each team where each time you post, 50% of your health regenerates. This should allow everyone to get right back into battle! - If anyone is suffering from a bug that has cost them gold or GCash, our admin will be happy to assist you if you file a ticket through our Help Center. - We will be periodically refreshing the quantity of Advocate items that can be redeemed. - We will take all of the feedback we have gotten on the event and be sure to apply it to the next one!

What will become of the H2K14 potions after the event? They do not show up as actual items in inventories. Will there be a plan to convert them as such? What about users who spent cash on potions? If they go unused will they be refunded somehow?

We do not have any plans for interactive events on Flash Spaces as of now, but considering the vast new additions of map space added it would be a shame not to take advantage of it. We will consider implementing events in Flash spaces in the future and we're open to any ideas or feedback!

You can actually play the game completely for free! The GCash elements are just for people playing through the event that want to go through it faster! If you're having trouble healing, try posting in your team's subforum!

Why are event items limited AND randomized AND soulbound? I know they'll unfreeze after the event, but mixing all three conditions makes it almost impossible to gain a full set while the items are actually useful. Also, considering that redemption on the limited items was glitched for at least a day, is there any chance of increasing the available supply to make up for the time they were unavailable or something?
Although these items are limited, we do update them twice a day! (They were updated recently, you should check it out!) Gaians are able to collect soul candies to try for these items by regularly battling, healing players, playing Switchem, and participating in our candy scavenger hunt across the site!
Items are soulbound so Gaians must earn them themselves to defeat the bosses! We wanted to reward the Gaians who spent more time playing the event to get the rewards faster, instead of allowing someone with a bunch of gold to just purchase it all through the marketplace! Basically, we just want everyone to have to play through it themselves!

The screenshot taken by Zero Omega in the Halloween Guide thread shows that the original costs of actions for the Halloween event were 0, 10k, 100k for healing and 0,10k,5GC for attacking.
Why were these numbers changed so that fewer people would be able to use the more effective actions?
These were testing numbers and the values weren't set in stone when the screenshots were taken.

Why does the NPC for the angel team have 1000 hp while both NPC for the demon team only have 100?
That hp disparity is definitely unintentional, we are looking into that and will be resolving it as soon as we can.

regarding the forum battle events: how necessary is it for them to be flash-based? the previous versions were fantastic (where you just clicked on buttons underneath peoples' usernames), but the last two events have been crazy slow, and i've stopped participating as a result. is it possible to go back to the previous event battle style?

Why was there a rollback in the kill count without anything being publicly stated, and why has Gaia taken so long (five days) to even try to put all of the bug reports in one thread?
There wasn't a rollback, this was due to corrupt data between the database and our data cache which has now been fixed. No particular reason on the thread, it just wasn't done. When we noticed that out-point, we made the thread.

During the summer event with the Kitsune vs. Tanuki teams, the Kitsune team was vastly more popular than the Tanuki team. Similarly, the demonic team for this Halloween event is far more popular than the angelic team. However, the Tanukis had moments where they came close to matching the score for the Kitsunes, even surpassing them at a few instances. The angels have not been able to do this at all largely due to demons initially being able to attack more frequently than the angels could keep up with healing each other--causing their score to quickly fall behind. The array of glitches that have been present throughout this event further skews the score count.
Will these issues be taken into consideration when rewards are given out to the teams?
As we do for all events, both sides will be receiving something nifty at the end of the event. =)

events are you actually going to restock the count of Advocate items again? you said that would be a frequent thing. you didn't do it once the whole weekend. at the very least it would be a good idea to do it twice a day at midnight and noon or something. the people who don't live in the US, are in way different timezones, and/or have other responsibilities are getting totally screwed over by how you're distributing them this time

This is more of a personal complaint, but for future events with the Battle System in place can Evasion be removed? RNG Based Evasion is incredibly frustrating, and missing an attack at an important moment (like when a Boss is only 18 HP away from being KO'd) makes it feel like a wasted effort, and takes the fun out of the event. It's even worse with bosses, as they restore their HP after the battle if they're not finished off and negate any sense of progression and accomplishment. There were a lot of issues with the Halloween Event this year, but this one's my biggest pet peeve.
Gameplay varies with each event, but this is definitely something we can look into for future events. =)

Could you guys please remove the limitation on the advocates hat, scarf and weapon? I had been trying throughout the entire event to get the scarf and weapon and still haven't gotten them yet. I have so many multiples of the other items, its ridiculous. Honestly, the distribution for the items in this event is ridiculous and should never be done again.

Could it be possible that for the next Halloween battle we could please see a leader board for healing? This latest event aside from the horrible glitches was rather boring event wise, after my goal of getting the advocate hat was achieved I really had no motivation to keep playing. This event really felt geared towards people who like to kill kill kill they got more attacks and more soul candy for attack's compared to the healing option I don't expect them to be equal but a little better balance would have been nice. A leader board would at least give those of us who prefer to heal something more to have striven for.

There is no particular reason, events have always used a variety of mediums and mechanics. The site in general is not designed for mobile though this is something we do want to change moving forward. We will definitely keep these concerns in mind for future events.

Yes actually, we're shooting to have it all done and granted by Friday morning.
Would it be possible to get an [Animal] version of some of past event items? Either as a small bundle freebie or gold shop mini CI.
Some of them are pretty unique and their charm could be nice for paws avatars without needing much tweaking.

I saw the Staff Notice about everyone supposedly getting the last two Halloween Achievements that were promised. Which is nice and all: Can we get the NAME of the Achievements we are supposed to be getting, so we know if we got them or not??!! Because after you guys took the Achievement Counter out of the Header, I have been having problems having the Achievements I earned register at all and have to usually file a ticket, thus I need to know if I have to do that this time, so the Achievement Names and for which Team they are would be nice....Thanks!!
In fact, I don't have my Achievement....so where are these so called Achievements?? I get so tired of filing tickets for Achievements, if they won't work right without the count in the header....then put it back in the header.

Recently the two final achievements for the Halloween event were released. One for the winning team and one for the losing team. Can the point differences please be changed? It's absolutely ridiculous that there the Angels only get 50 points and the Demons get 500. Not only did the Angels have an extremely unfair disadvantage during the event, but this is also extremely unfair to achievement hunters. At the beginning of the event, I pretty much had knew the demons were most likely going to win, but I chose angels because I personally agreed with their side. I feel like I'm being punished by the point difference in these achievements for choosing a side I actually cared about versus a side I knew was going to win. So once again, can we please have the points changed for the two achievements? Either have them equal in points or at least make the differences between them smaller? (For example, Angels 50 points and Demons 100 points )
Sorry for any inconvenience caused by this, the reason why the Angels got a 50 point achievement and the Demons got a 500 point achievement is because the Demons won. Unfortunately as the achievements were already released we cannot change the value on them. However, we can consider the achievements being closer in value for future events though.

If you are referring to the Unique Charms that were released in the summer then the answer is no- not in this event! However they will be released in other events in the future and we are going to continue to offer rewards for them.

Yes, please send a ticket to Customer Support and they will make sure you are granted your item. Our devs know of this issue and they are working to fix it.

Concerning the sudden appearance of the NPCs Rina and Rordon Gamsey: once I'd read a few different threads I realized these were bots, but at first I thought these were staffers replying using NPCs! Several threads in Site Feedback have discussed the bots not only being spammy, but even rude and downright offensive depending on what gets replied to. Since using NPC bots for a confusing and empty attempt at interaction advertising a LQI was questionable at best, how will Gaia make changes to this in the future to avoid misunderstandings and potentially offensive situations? I think bots should be confined to GCD, CB, and appropriate event forums, personally.
Here's an example of NPC posting being totally inappropriate - this was concerning the hostage situation in Sydney where a user was trying to help a roommate find out if a family member was involved. The NPC responded because of a trigger word (it's pretty obvious what word it was). This continued several times in the thread including replies to discussion of causalities. I understand it's virtually impossible to know how every quote-and-reply pairing will end up looking but that's exactly why botting an NPC across the entire forums is a poor idea.
Some more examples that are far less problematic but I think still worth providing under the cut:
Here's another inappropriate example. Although users in that thread didn't have an issue because the reply came off like a random misfire, several users have expressed they feel this sort of randomness doesn't belong in sensitive topics at In The News.
Here's an example of the bot coming off as snarky - I interpreted the response as a way of calling the original poster's complaint a "flame" concerning whitelisting ads (I still thought it was a person behind the NPC, not a bot). Way less important than the first example but if people think actual staffers are being cheeky it comes off unprofessional.
I know we can report NPC posts for being spam as I've successfully done so, but users should not be expected to police NPCs this way.
Thank you for letting us know about our naughty NPCs. We have been tracking them and trying to limit them to specific forums, however it doesn't keep them from occasionally posting somewhere a bit awkward. We're working on ways to keep them a bit more reigned in for future events.

When i opened the Caroling Box 5 it gave me the option of the human Spirited 2k14 Legs or a [Animal]Frosted 2k14 Legs. Shouldn't the [Animal] item be a paw version of the spirited 2k14 legs?

Could we please get a GoFusion recipe of some sort that just calls for 1 Snowflake Charm (and however many of other kinds of Charms) so those of us who got just one Snowflake Charm from Daily Chance can have something to do with them? (Unless you're planning on unbinding them after the event's over, or giving them a sellback or something...)

I've noticed with the last couple events that wing stickers aren't available for the entire duration; with Christmas they were only around during about the first half of it or so. Is there a particular reason for this, and if so then why this arbitrary limit?
Gaia normally only releases a limit of no more 14 wing stickers consecutively. For this event because our Treehouse update was so small we didn't release as many wing stickers.

Are you planning to have events that more interaction with the towns in the future or you going to have them only in forums? it would be nice if you did have the towns be part of the events.
We have Halloween and Christmas additions to Towns 2 in terms of aesthetic changes, but I would love to do more with interactive features this year.

Events Why is it we don't get event end dates at the start of events? No one on Gaia knew when the Christmas event was set to end until some user said there was a post on your Facebook page. I understand if events get extended but giving us a end date from the start will stop users from getting confused. So I guess what I'm getting at is could we please get a event end date on like the event front page?
Very fair point, we'll try to be much more explicit in the next coming events.

Is the Snowflake collecting achievement glitched and when should we submit tickets? People have already reached 500 snowflakes and have not been granted the achievement.
Thanks for the information. We'll check into this and make sure those who qualified for the achievement get it.
So, to follow up: how do things stand on this?
We still have not received the achievement and without knowing the exact requirements, this makes it difficult to submit a ticket, as we do not know if we should or should not have gotten it. And, no, it’s not fun to explore and find out the requirements after the event, as was suggested in the same ATS. Especially when no one, to our knowledge, has been granted the achievement and so we have no way of comparing snowflake totals in relation to that achievement. Ergo, we can’t figure things out on our own… because it hasn’t shown up yet.
Basically, we would like to know the exact number of snowflakes required and when, if ever, we can expect a fix for this missing achievement.
Question being asked on behalf of Kefial (granted, in my words).
No updates at this time! But when we have one we'll be posting a staff notice like we have with the other achievement issues!

Would you please Un-Soulbound the Snowflake charms!
What good is it to have 2 or 3 soulbound snowflake charms on an account???
Plus, I am sure there are plenty of people that were denied the last few charms they needed to craft something from the event due to the snowflake grant error that started towards the end of the event. At least give them some way to get the last few they needed to craft the item they were working towards.
Nope, Snowflake charms will not be unsoulbound. We will be adding something into GoFusion that will cost one Snowflake charm and additional charms so that can expend your excess Snowflake charms that way.

Hello Gaia Staff!
I have a question about a possible snowflake charm glitch. When the Bitter Slumber event was going on, I collected around 72 charms on the main event page. But on the Go Fusion page, it said I collected 99 charms. I don't remember getting an extra 20 or so charms from the Daily Chance either. Thinking how many charms I had in Go Fusion was the amount I collected, I used them already to craft items. But if a glitch did occur, can I somehow give the items I crafted back? Also, did a glitch in my Snowflake charms occur? It's been bugging me for a while now. sad

This may have been due to a glitch with the inventory arranger and game items. We're looking into a fix for something like this. In the mean time, go ahead and file a ticket with this information and we can look into fixing the charms and items for you if there was a problem.

I know that Gaia is based in the US, but why do we only celebrate the usual holidays? I never understood why we couldn't pick a random holiday from a different country once a year to celebrate. I mean this is the internet and we have people from all over the world visiting this site every day, I think that this would be nice to do. It would be fun too, it might ever draw more people into the community.
Yes I know that the summer event was centered around Japanese culture, but I'm asking for an annual thing not a one time thing.

While the current event is getting to a good start, it does seem a little boring with it just being a gold sink and sub-forum. sweatdrop Are there going to be mini-games involved... or is this a prologue to the Valentines Day/Gaia's Birthday event?
Funny enough, Gaia went live on February 18, which is also my birthday!
We'll have some NPCs going around as well, the event is intended to be a mini-event so there isn't too much lined up, but we do have plans for Valentine's Day and our birthday!
So Valentine's Day is coming up. When are we going to have an event or CI of Bludeau looking for love?

Brenni's shop needs more lovin', and we have a disturbing lack of recent haute couture-inspired items, this would be a perfect way to combine the two and have an epic gold sink too! Brenni's perfect for the job since he's the resident fashion wiz with the high-end store~ heart
(And yes, you could even tie it into a site-wide event with related cash shop items if you must, or hold a kickstarter in preparation for it, or other ideas that are mentioned in the thread linked above, but that's not the main point, the important thing is new D*C items and more haute couture-inspired stuff)

While the recent D*C update last week was a very pleasant surprise, have you guys ever considered making a gold sink event revolving around Brennivin and his shop? This thread briefly explores the idea of having a Fashion Week inspired event. Get Brenni to design some couture clothes and have him sell them in his shop for a lot of gold, perhaps even as a LQI like what you've been doing in Loyal's. Maybe get Vanessa to learn some runway-inspired haircuts too!
It's undeniable that the avatar feature is a big attraction for this site, and it's clear that you guys focus a lot on that as opposed to other features. So a Fashion Week event would be a perfect opportunity to have a gold sink.

Any word on that ITEM kickstarter I suggested? We need to purge a lot of cheap junk from our inventories and from the general population. And it'd be a great time to close all the gold shops and update their prices for the duration of it.
