If Item layering and glitches are usually handled by the artist who make an item. What do you do for items Who's artist has left Gaia?
specificaly for things like Ninja Headbands and fish helms.

Item Glitches: Older items many times have been layered or made incorrectly. We can look into fixing them- it usually ends up either being an easy fix or a monolithic spiderweb of fixes that goes thousands of items deep.

Were you aware that the alchemy landing page is not loading/white paging for some users (such as myself)? I suspect it might have something to do with inventory size being too large, causing it too time out, though I can't say for sure. Any way this can be looked into getting fixed?
Was not aware of that but not terribly surprised, large inventories can cause things to act funky sometimes. We'll pass along the request to see if we can do something about it.
I purchased an item from the market place that said it had a chance at winning a Special Item, or other random items. Only to find out after i purchased it that the item i bought was no longer valid. No where did it say before I spent A LOT of my gold that the item i was purchasing was no longer viable. PLEASE change this in the marketplace so that timed items can't be sold after the event is up, or put in the market description This event ended and will no longer grant anything. All i did was hand my gold to someone because i thought it was a VALID ITEM and it wasnt.
I would nbot have spent my money on this item had i known it was an empty item. How do i get my money back?

Some items exist for both the paws and the human base. With "Agape" being released for paws, some hairstyles doesn't behave the same for both bases. Where is it best to post them so they can be looked at to see if it's possible to edit them so they act the same? With the behavior priority being given to the one which got released first (paws or human).

There wasn't a rollback, this was due to corrupt data between the database and our data cache which has now been fixed. No particular reason on the thread, it just wasn't done. When we noticed that out-point, we made the thread.

Can we get manga notices again? I was glad when the manga started updating again, but since I wasn't getting the notices like we used to, i forgot to keep checking, and I even thought the manga wasn't updated beyond one page.
There's a bug that doesn't show manga updates in the header- but we'll try and have an announcement for manga updates- or a staff notice so that everyone can be informed in a more public way.

Currently, we are working on a new bug report system in and we hope that it will increase the effectiveness of avatar glitches. A lot of time this is a technical glitch that is not necessarily related to us, but rather, the offer partner not working at the time. It could also be impacted by your internet speed, browser, etc. Try using another browser or computer when doing these offers and if you still have problems, file a ticket.

This is interesting- the glitch is created by the item having 2 item IDs. We can't fix this because it would destroy items in inventories if we were to erase/replace one listing.

Some users tried accessing Gaia Fishing while Gaia was having site disturbances and are stuck in the lakes servers. Clearing cache/history and restarting computer does not help. For instance, this account has been stuck in a room in Bassken as Player 0 since yesterday morning and I receive a disconnection error that tells me to check back in 1 minute. A few days ago, there was a mistake and Count Halphas' Passion was sold in Mecha Neko for 29k. Some users totally took advantage of this glitch and bought 8O+ of that item, and now they're selling it on the marketplace for a 1b profit each sale. Are you guys planning to do anything about this (isn't exploiting a glitch against ToS??)?
We do not plan to do anything for this. It was our mistake that the item was put into the shop for 29k instead of the Gaia Cash price. We have no plans on doing reversals for the items that were purchased during this time.

why on earth did you think it was "okay" to put an angelic rod in the newest rig?

I don't even have one and i won 2 bronze fishing trophies in July.
The Angelic Rod was placed in the most recent Gen by mistake and removed immediately. I apologize to all of our users who have earned them- we have no plans for releasing them for cash in the future. Previous aquarium/Housing and fishing items that have been released in the past were done so because a. they were sold for cash prior and no longer available in the store and b. they were essential for alchemy and not available through means of purchasing.
A lot of users have reported being unable to buy the zOMG Grab Bags and then for those that can buy them and open them up, the contents can't really be sold on the MP, they're said to not exist/not yet have been listed, even when people have put them listed.
Could you guys maybe fix this or do people need to start filing tickets before anything is done? (I keep an eye on the Bug Report forum and it'd be nice to know what to tell people to do about the problems they have with these items)

I can't get into the Alchemy page for like 3-4 days already. All I see is a blank page. I checked with another account, it can access to it within seconds.
Also my aquarium doesn't show up the fish so others can do booty grab.
A large inventory might be what is preventing you from being able to access the alchemy page. Might want to see if you can shrink you inventory a bit and see what happens.

Hello, I wrote about this last week in AtS about users not being able to access certain lakes in Fishing. This is still going on. If you look in Bassken room Vathilia III my account is p0 and wont leave. It has been over a week now. However, I did find out if I change my username or move that username to another account I can access Bassken lake but when I returned the username to this account I am still locked out. It is the same for another user. Then few other users are just stuck in the lakes loading server. They arent in rooms but are unable to access certain lakes. I saw Narumi Misuhara visit a fishing room early last week but I have yet seen any progress to fix this situation.

Hello, Gaia Staff!
Thank you for updating Aquariums! Unfortunately, due to a glitch, I cannot play Booty Grab at the moment. It is a glitch where when I click on a tank that says 'Booty Grab' on it, it loads the game aquarium tank, but does not load the background or fishes in the user's tank so I cannot play Booty Grab.
Besides the game glitch in Booty Grab, there are problems with the Aquariums feature itself.
Every time I go to the Aquarium feature, it is very laggy that it takes too much time to feed your fish because of the lag. It is also so laggy that I cannot put up to 15 fish in my tank and only put a certain amount of fish in before the lag takes over and freezes the process of putting fish into my tank. Turning off the music does not help the lag in Aquariums as a whole.
Also, if you look up, "Aquarium lag" in the "Search" bar, there are several other Topic Results about the lag issue in Aquariums.
My question is: Will the Aquariums feature be updated anytime in the future?
I would really like to take care of my tank and I do not care about Overseer rewards at this point, but an update to take care of the Aquariums feature's lagging issues would be wonderful. C:

So the leg mod, Portrait Legs, looks like its the Rosamund's Revenge legs without the stockings, but when you go to equip it, it turns into some sculpted manly man legs. Was this on purpose or is it an actual glitch?

Specifically Duplicate Marketplace Item Listings. As I mentioned in my Bug Report thread here, there are a few items which have more than one item number.

I realize it's been an issue for a while (I was personally a victim to it a few years ago and didn't even think about reporting it), but now with the extreme raise of item prices, it could pose a serious problem with scamming, both intentionally and unintentionally.
A seller could link a buyer to the listing with a higher ABP and/or no LBP, while in reality, the item may have several listings in the Marketplace at a cheaper price.
Is there any way you can fix this issue or consider looking into it again (if it was indeed already pointed out before) ?
And should someone consider themselves a "victim of scamming" due to this issue, would we report it?

It boils down to the Marketplace only recognizing item IDs, as opposed to item names. There may be multiple items with the same name but have different IDs, as you point out. We'll take a look into this and see what we can do to address it.
If a user feels that there was a user that maliciously tricked them into being scammed, they can file a scam report with evidence showing that the user had the intent to scam you. Otherwise they can file a Help Center ticket and we can look into reversing the transaction if it was an accident.

For those unaware, if a user had an Aquarium Snowflakes decoration in inventory, the user's tank became ungrabbable - if another user tried to play Booty Grab during a glow period, the fish didn't show up for the game. It was disheartening that despite several threads in several forums, staff did not address the issue at all, and it was a user who figured out the solution and told affected users how to fix it. Then the rest of the GA community spread the word, all without (to the best of my knowledge) a peep from the staff. While last week was a short work week, an acknowledgement of the problem with perhaps a noncommittal "We're aware of the problem and are looking into it" would have been appreciated.

The counting issue is going to be getting redone with new requirements that are much more flexible, in the meantime please file a ticket and you will be given an access pass for the indefinite future!
gonk It looks like I lost a fight to a wood chipper. I'm sure that comes in handy if you're going for a "Sexy Lt. Dan from Forest Gump" look. It doesn't seem like a glitch, since it happens regardless of any other items equipped, or like the glitches where the front and back views look like completely different items. If you look at it from the back, the legs are completely normal and intact. It looks like part of the pose just got erased and nobody ever noticed, even when it was being recolored. Any chance of getting a fix on this, or is it actually supposed to look like this for some reason?

last time I bought I didn't got my cash w/credit card and had to fill a ticket a wait a few days to get it in my account... and paypal don't work for me, all this started when you guys updated the GC paypal amounts a few months ago... now I don't feel safe buying GC anymore :<
The problem with not receiving Gaia Cash stems from the process inbetween hitting the "submit payment" button and getting redirected back to Gaia. If anything happens during that time, such as the page stops loading, or you accidentally hitting the back button, then the Gaia Cash won't grant because PayPal was never able to connect with us to give you the Gaia Cash. However, don't worry about purchasing Gaia Cash, as long as you file a ticket with the appropriate information we will be crediting you the Gaia Cash. If there might have been anything you missed because you didn't get the Gaia Cash immediately, just let us know in the ticket and we can make sure that you get what you want.
As for not being able to actually purchase Gaia Cash, we're working with PayPal to debug this issue and get it resolved. We will have an update for the community as soon as we believe it's fixed!

However, if you have multiple pages, like me, when you move something onto a page, it bumps the items at the end of the page onto the last page and not onto the next page as expected.

Currently, using the new inventory arranger, is making more of a mess of my inventory than the time consuming but functional old method ever did.

In a previous Ask the Staff, you mentioned that a better system was being worked on for the login issues preventing access to Loyal's. Will the fixes for this help the same error the login issue causes for the attendance achievements, or is there any advice to be given if not? I have been trying to obtain the Perfect Attendance achievement for just short of a year straight now, and despite logging in every day, the counter is similarly picky and resets like the Loyal's counter.

I have yet to get my achievement from the Halloween event. I've tried logging in and out obviously. Clearing my cache and history. And I sent a message to a staff member but no one ever read it. I was on the Angelic team, so I need the looser achievement. I got other achievements for healing/attacking people those were granted without any problem. But I never got the last one... Fix it?
Also there are a lot of people having this same issue, lots of threads have been made about it over in Site Questions and Assistance, I think you might want to look into the issue to see why it is still not being granted.

Unfortunately there was a technical glitch when granting the achievement that makes it difficult for us go back and regrant it to those who did not receive it. I have a trade with another user that was opened at about the time the inventory arranger was released, and now whenever either of us tries to either complete or cancel the trade, we get the message "Database Error There was an error cancelling the trade. serial_not_in_owner_location". Normally I would think it was a problem with one of our accounts, but both of us are also able to do trades with other people, we just have that one trade sitting there blocking trades between us.
I also noticed that we are NOT the only ones having this problem.
Is this something that is being addressed?

This is a result of the "cloned" items created in the inventory arranger. When some one clones an item, they click the "Sell in Marketplace" link. It creates a false sale. You can't buy the item, but it shows up in the MP. Also, the person who is doing the selling can't remove the sale.

Thank you for the new inventory arranger, however though, I personally am unable to use it. When selecting an item and going to move it, I'm given a no icon, and the item does not get moved. I know other people have had this issue, and what I'm wondering, is could we have a link to the old arranger in our inventory? It might have been annoying and hard to use. But at least it could be used.

On some of my accounts I got kicked form Loyal's shop; even though I know I logged on every day. I get my daily chance; and yet most of my accounts I cannot shop at loyal's now. It said I did not log in for 70 days. Yet, I know I did. (I also wish to remark, that that countdown has always been glitched for me. Says 15 days one time, 3 days the next day then 25 a week later.)
Sidenote, I am wondering if that has anything to do with the missing santa march?

I noticed another bug with this. If you move an item that you have equipped, it stops showing as an equipped item after you save your inventory.
[Animal] Gray Cloth Cap Could the thumbnail for this possibly be corrected? (the item itself is fine, is gray as it should be, but having the thumbnail green is a bit problematic)
The icon has been updated but our server usually takes 3-5 days to change thumbnail images due to the site's cache server. Give it some time and it'll auto update probably by the end of the week! Thanks for your patience.

First off I'm going to say I'm really glad the inventory arranger was updated, but there are some bugs with it. It has a habit of moving random overflow items to the last or first page instead of keeping it in the order I placed it which defeats the purpose of it being an arranger. Is this glitch going to be fixed soon? If it's not would it be possible to put a button in the inventory linking back to the old inventory arranger until then?

I, along with many others, was unable to purchase the Black Friday Grab bags when they were 50% off.
I emailed in only to be told "Thanks for writing. Unfortunately there was an issue with purchasing that bundle. We have informed the responsible people and hopefully it will go back on sale soon."
I'm sorry but that is not a solution. There is no guarantee that the item will ever be returned to the store, nor that it will be 50% off again. I was here while it was on sale, why do i have to miss out on this item because of a glitch?
We did have an issue where the Black Friday Grab bag was un-purchasable for a period of time on New Years Eve. If you missed out on purchasing it due to this glitch, please file a ticket with CS and they should exchange the GCash in your account with the equivalent discount of the item granted to you. Sorry that this wasn't resolved sooner!

We are aware that the Daily Treat occasionally may not grant GC. There is a margin of error with this that we cannot control. However, if you did miss your GC from Daily Treat, file a billing ticket at our Help Center and we'll be happy to look into it.

I raised this before Christmas. There was an issue with the inventory arranger. I've not seen an announcement or anything, stating it will be fixed. Although I did see one saying the fix will be delayed. Is this resolved yet? If not, when will it be resolved? My inventory is getting larger, yet I can't sort anything yet.
The lead for this was out of town, now that they are back, they will be addressing some of the inventory issues that have come up since the holidays. Expect some updates via staff notice in a weeks time.

Recently there has been an issue with the ad blocking that comes from when you spend 249 GC or more. Ads are still being shone even if you have spent the Gaia Cash and have it checked and have plenty of time to go. This has been reported in the bug report forum but there has never been any answer from the Gaia admins about this issue. Please can you tell us what happened? Was it an accident? was it on purposes? What?
This would definitely be a glitch. The only ads that should display are for Gaia items, not third-party ads. We'll take a look into checking this out. In the mean time, keep posting in the BRTS and please include screenshots of both your click box confirmation and the ads you're seeing so we can investigate further!

So, to follow up: how do things stand on this?
We still have not received the achievement and without knowing the exact requirements, this makes it difficult to submit a ticket, as we do not know if we should or should not have gotten it. And, no, it’s not fun to explore and find out the requirements after the event, as was suggested in the same ATS. Especially when no one, to our knowledge, has been granted the achievement and so we have no way of comparing snowflake totals in relation to that achievement. Ergo, we can’t figure things out on our own… because it hasn’t shown up yet.
Basically, we would like to know the exact number of snowflakes required and when, if ever, we can expect a fix for this missing achievement.
Question being asked on behalf of Kefial (granted, in my words).
No updates at this time! But when we have one we'll be posting a staff notice like we have with the other achievement issues!

This is extremely frustrating for us, the artists too! For some reason, despite being coded properly, the items don't show up exclusively in the animated tab as we intend it to be and we can't quite figure out the reason. Rest assured, it's something we're aware of and are looking into a fix as soon as we can isolate the problem.

What good is it to have 2 or 3 soulbound snowflake charms on an account???
Plus, I am sure there are plenty of people that were denied the last few charms they needed to craft something from the event due to the snowflake grant error that started towards the end of the event. At least give them some way to get the last few they needed to craft the item they were working towards.
Nope, Snowflake charms will not be unsoulbound. We will be adding something into GoFusion that will cost one Snowflake charm and additional charms so that can expend your excess Snowflake charms that way.

When you file a ticket for this, the best drop-down to use would be “Issues with items/gold.” While not the most accurate for the problem, out of the available options it’s the best one to use to describe the issue. Hope that helps!

I have a question about a possible snowflake charm glitch. When the Bitter Slumber event was going on, I collected around 72 charms on the main event page. But on the Go Fusion page, it said I collected 99 charms. I don't remember getting an extra 20 or so charms from the Daily Chance either. Thinking how many charms I had in Go Fusion was the amount I collected, I used them already to craft items. But if a glitch did occur, can I somehow give the items I crafted back? Also, did a glitch in my Snowflake charms occur? It's been bugging me for a while now. sad

There seem to be a bug with certain users and Gofusion(me included) where we can't use it at all, some even experience(me included) unavailability to use the feature even when switching browsers. Is there any sort of incentive towards fixing this problem?

Profile issues I can't change my theme and every time I erase the CSS code it always comes back every time I save it.
I got it off a site that hosts codes for this site, so I don't think I violated anything in anyway to get the privilege to change my theme taken away.
So it looks like you can move your game items and such over to house/ storage with the new arranger. I did so when trying to organize my invo and they are glitched. Been that way for a while and I've heard of a few other ppl it's happened to. Might be good to block it from being moved over if it's going to glitch stuff xd

Have you guys ever considered looking into the issue where some site features break if you own over 20,000 items? carbonphyber seemed to be aware of this, but since he isn't employed at the moment, I wasn't sure if anyone else knew of this bug. I understand that it has never really been a problem you would think about looking into, but with 1,000-pack philosopher caches and item-hoarding, the frequency of people hitting this cap has increased recently. You raised the gold cap a few months back... so you might have to raise the item cap some time soon as well.
Actually this is a problem we are quite aware of as it does come up fairly frequently with those who use alchemy and caches often. It's an ongoing thing we're looking into because we have not yet identified what is breaking (we know the cause is the large number of items, but not what in the system is actually breaking.)

So I had that "General Error: cache_bust_failed" pop up when I was opening Golden Scissors. It's not the first time I've seen it, and there's no indication of it being a harmful error... but, um, there's not much indication of anything else, either! It's a pretty undescriptive error message.
I think I've only seen it when I'm opening Project Custom CIs, which worries me a little... but that's probably just the symptom of a biased sample, since I open way more of those than anything else.
So, i was just curious: What does this error indicate? Is it just a hiccup in the servers talking, or a function trying to divide by zero, or what?
cache is a form of temporary storage on web servers. It's used so that a lot of requests don't hit the database. Generally when an operation happens that requires a database update, at the same time you 'bust' or update the cache so that the value it has reflects what is in the database. Sometimes however the cache can fail to update, usually because for whatever reason the system could not access the server that has the cache data.
The side affects of this completely depend on how the programmer programmed the system. A more elegant design will catch these sorts of things and simply try to update it correctly the next time the data is needed. Issues that may arise in not so elegantly designed systems include, mismatch values in what the system thinks you have vs what is in the database, and worse case corrupted data.

Its possible that this has already been said but facial hair for paws isnt working properly. .. either not at all or layed behind the head. It has been said to be visible from behind.
Also there is no "girls face" for paws to remove the hair. And all the paw facial hair has no little paw on the icon to show its for paws
