Melvin had been researching hard. Anything he could find that was accessible to the public about doors and Clarice were set in reference binders and books on the table. He'd been pouring over them since he left the Infirmary and any free time (and time he should be doing duty work) was spent here.
However, he was only limited to how far his body could take him, and his body was already suffering from rough sleeping patterns as is.
Somewhere the lines started to blur. Somewhere in time, his head started to get heavy. Somewhere in the hours pouring over information that wasn't leading him anywhere, Melvin found himself sleeping face down in a open book completely dead to the world. Even Saliva's snickering didn't stir him.

Zeke was a frequent visitor to the library. He showed up a few times a week to return books, check out more, or just camp out in one of the big chairs, taking notes as he read through an new bit of information on the creatures they were fighting. Not duty, just the Mist's over active thirst for knowledge. On one such visit, after having dropped off a small stack of reference books, Zeke happened upon the dozing Life as he was headed further into the library. For a long moment he stood there, watching Melvin sleep, an amused smile stirring on tanned lips. I'll make a deal with you. If I ever fall asleep in here, with my face in a book, I'll cut back on the research and dedicate that time to training.Not likely. Zeke knew how to pace himself. Years of studying, of keeping careful schedules to make sure he was on track to finish with his bachelors. It was sort of all for not, now, but he didn't regret any of it. { Deal boil. And when the time comes I will rejoice!} Chuckling to himself, Zeke moved to touch Melvin on the shoulder, giving him a small shake. "Should maybe call it a day." Honestly he didn't care about the other hunter's well being, but he was curious about what he was researching so thoroughly.

Melvin didn't expect anyone to wake him and after a few shakes, threw his head up with a sudden jerk that made his glasses slant on his nose.
"Wha.." Was all he managed before he looked around to get his bearings and adjusted his glasses before jumping to the side of his seat when he was the man right beside him. "What?"

A bow twitched, amused. "You make a habit of falling asleep on your work?" The guy looked beat, totally ragged, like he'd been at it for days, and not just hours.

When work was mentioned, he looked around again, eyelids lowering halfway as he tried to adjust to both the concept of being awake and the unforgiving lights of the library. It was a very slow process to piece together that he was not at work or in any type of lab, and he dragged his hands up to rub under his glasses, which bounced as he rubbed his eyes.
"Usually. Books better than sleepin on a minipet tank." Open or otherwise. Some of the lab equipment started to look very comfortable in the long hours of the night, and standing up straight with your hands cupped over them as you caught a few winks wasn't possible. Many Lifers tested this with some success - and some failures.
Removing his hands, he fixed his glasses again before looking up with narrowed eyes, still trying to get his eyes to focus through the sleep, and looked the man over. "Make a habit of wakin people?"
The books that were under Melvin were a few maps of Deus, a book on portals, another on ancient artifacts, and one on runics.

"Not usually," he answered honestly, a lazy smile etched along tanned features. He'd considered looking into Life, the science side of things, because that was what he had know back before the island. It was news to him that some kept such insane hours, catching naps wherever, and whenever they could. Ever never seemed to sleep deprived. Then again, maybe they worked on different things.

"Then I hope I wasn't snoring." He said, wondering what caused the man to wake him up in the first place. Most people didn't typically wake a sleeping person or want to touch a stranger in any way.
Groggy, he pulled back the sleeve of his jacket and winced when he saw the time. He lowered his head, rubbing one side of his face with one hand, before he closed the book in front of him. He couldn't even remember what he was reading now, but he knew it was going nowhere.
"I need coffee." He whined.

"Snoring? No, but you sounded like you were on the verge." Zeke had woken him up for the same reason he'd want to be woken up if their roles had been reversed. Sleeping on a pile of books could give you a wicked ******** crick in your neck. Besides, he was curious about what the guy was working so hard on. "Not my business, but you look like you need sleep more than you need coffee." Real sleep, in a bed, and not on a pile of books in the library. He gave the large collection of books and notebooks a lingering glance. "It looks like you've been pretty nose to the grind for a while now." He didn't bother mentioning the Lifer should be taking breaks. That he was actually hindering his research by not getting the proper amount of sleep or resting his mind. It seemed like the sort of knowledge that should be common.
