This year at my school's prom, the head of the prom committee isn't allowing two boys or two girls walk down the red carpet into the school together. Here is the e-mail I wrote to my principal.
"Mr. Hanson, My name is Amanda Sherman. I wanted to ask you something about a rumor I heard about a rule Becky Craig is enforcing for prom. I heard she isn't allowing two boys or two girls walk down the red carpet together. I was wondering if this is true? If so, I was also wondering if you are going to allow such a rule to be made? If so, I would like to voice my opinion that this rule is extremely unfair to the people who are attending prom with someone of the same gender, whether it be an intimate relationship or just friends. It would ruin many people's prom experience because their parents can't tape them walking the red carpet with their date. Also, aren't we students supposed to be learning about diversity this year? If you allow this rule, it will make you a hypocrite. We are supposed to be learning to accept everyone's differences, and this is a direct offense to our learning experience. We'll never learn to be accepting if our role models don't show us good examples. I hope you strongly consider the consequences if this rule is allowed to be enforced. Thank you for your time.
-Amanda Sherman"
When I heard this, I was so pissed off. I can't believe they'd actually do this! I swear, if they don't allow me to start a GSA.. GRRRRR!!!!! What the hell is wrong with people?

If the principal upholds that rule at prom, contact the ACLU...unless your states does not have sexual orientation anti-discrimination laws...then there's nothing you can do.

hm....I would tell him that I would reveal his secret gayness if he didn't allow it. See these days, most old men are gay, or bi. But if that didn't work I would dress myself like a dyke and go or something evil Man I hate people like that. They bash on people just because they like the same sex when they know how it feels to love someone. All they see when they picture gays/lezibians/or bis are either transfites(if I spelled that right) or two people of the same sex walking down the school hallway holding hands. See everyone has at least one feeling towards the same sex in there life, even if they denay it. If you need any help I'll try to help you, but knowing my luck we probly don't even live in the same state.

Thanks a lot for all your comments and such ^.^ Still no reply though... Getting anxious. He just doesn't like me because I've confronted him on previous occasions about his decision making skills.

I had to make an appointment with the assistant prinicipal because Mr. Hanson doesn't like me, lol. He said he's never heard anything about it. I also talked to him about a GSA and he said I could start it as long as I have a plan and visit other GSAs in nearby schools. But I don't know what schools have them! >.<
