What had started as a quick phone call had turned into a planned out grocery run by two young women for a friend still stuck on recovery time. Time wise, it might have taken a touch longer than expected since a side trip back to the home of the Whites had been included last minute when Delilah realized that walking with the food might have overdone it. Not to mention, warmed up the milk Quenton requested. So once they had secured the keys from Elizabeth, the two girls were on their way.
The store hadn’t been packed so getting in and out had been pretty quick after Hannah and Delilah had decided on which cheese to pick up. What took a few extra minutes was Delilah having to find a parking space around the building she knew to be Quenton’s. “I really need to learn to parallel park.” She muttered as she shifted the bag of soup cans, ginger ale, and honey to one hand in order to open the front door. Glancing up, she looked to see if the guard indeed was expecting them before slipping inside and going through the process she remembered. “ID, sign in, and out by 8pm?” She checked before writing her name and sliding it towards Hannah. “I’ll call the elevator.”

Having shown the guard her ID and signed her name under Delilahs, Hanna re-picked up the gallon of milk off the counter and followed her friend to the elevator.
For as much time that has passed since the last time she saw Quenton it felt kind of odd randomly showing up at his home, or rather inviting themselves over to check up on him as the case may be. Teetering back on her heels, swinging the grocery bag forward, Hannah drew in a deep breath and exhaled in an attempt to quell her nerves all the while chewing on her bottom lip. I don’t even know what to say… Hi how have you been? Seriously? He just got out of the hospital. What have you been up to? Again… duh! What happened? Well Delilah already kinda told me and he probably wouldn’t want to talk about it… Man. She let out another sigh feeling frustrated by this. I just hope he’s doing better than the last two times I saw him.
Hannah hung her head in defeat, feeling at a complete total loss. The sound of the elevator reaching its destination dinged loudly before opening the doors. Falling in step behind Delilah the two of them made their way down the antique hallway passing door after door after door till her raven haired friend stopped abruptly and knocked on the door.

Up-and-around was a work in progress, but one that was working. He wasn't sleeping all day and night, he was up and around, and he was going through the motions of physical therapy as ordered. The aircast was present on his arm, a requirement during sleep or nap to stabilize all the joints and muscles that the General had torn like paper. He'd fallen asleep at his little table waiting, idle sketches looking back at him and the room from a now-slightly drooled on Moleskine. The knock came as a shock, and he spasmed awake- his good arm swinging wide to throw all the contents of the table to the floor. Quenton blinked owlishly, regaining worded-thoughts very, very slowly. Door. Door knock? Delilah. He got up mechanically, and stepped on the papers and bits without noticing, opening the portal to the two girls beyond, "Hello? Ah, Delilah. Hannah. Come in."

A moment passed where Delilah wondered if it was possible Quenton had fallen back asleep or taken a pain killer and forgot about them coming. Just as she was about to knock again, she heard the click of the door and leaned back as it opened. "Hello Quenton. I hope we didn't keep you waiting too long." She smiled softly before glancing back towards Hannah and motioning for the girl to follow her inside.
Delilah had not warned Hannah of the disarray Quenton's modest home would be in but to Delilah, she wasn't surprised as she lifted one of the bags upward. "Mind if we put these in the kitchen?" She asked before glancing down at the papers on the floor. "Decided they looked better on the ground than the table?" Delilah motioned towards the counter in the room for Hannah to see where she was going before turning to take herself there. There was no need for introduction at least, though Delilah did watch her 'sister' out of the corner of her eye. In the elevator, Delilah could see she was nervous. If the girl could read minds, she hoped Hannah would hear Delilah thinking to just be yourself.

Side stepping into his apartment, Hannah greeted him with a rueful smile, “Hi.” The only word she could manage to say after all that fretting in the elevator.
Seeing the state he was filled her heart with a sufficient amount of sadness. More than anything she had truly hoped that he was okay; that what Delilah had told was in some way an over exaggeration. Unfortunately the sight before her, with his arm in the cast, left little room to wonder just how bad the attack had been.
It was pointless to wonder why he hadn’t called her, knowing that they had never exchanged phone numbers or done the whole Senshi scan like they were supposed to do the first time they met. Blue eyes cast downward at the scattered paper, Hannah found herself wishing wholeheartedly they were at the safe house, so she could power up and go through the motions of her renew. Despite knowing the limitations of her attack, being limited to minor injuries, she did know that at the very least itcould alleviate some of his discomfort as well as hasten his recovery.
Looking back up once Delilah had finished talking she raised up the gallon of milk and plastic bag, this time offering up a more cheerful smile she chimed in “We got the milk you asked for! I wasn’t quite sure what food you’d like to eat so we got stuff to make grilled cheese sandwiches and chicken noodle soup. I hope that’s okay.” Soup… just like before!

Faced with both of them as he closed the door, in his space, felt stranger than he'd expected it to on the phone. 'Bringing it home' was something of an understatement. Hannah seemed mostly shell-shocked, and it was difficult to tell if this had been a mistake or not. "Milk and plenty more...you didn't need to go to such trouble..? Unless you are both ...hungry?"
"It isn't much, but make yourselves at home. I can get these papers. " He crouched to gather them one at a time, and the sketchbook, to set on one of the book shelves lining the wall. "It is kind of you both to go to the trouble. Feel free to put things where you like- there's not enough in the cupboards or fridge to merit an organizational system."
As a studio efficiency, it really wasn't much. If they both went to Crystal, Delilah at least did, then it was probably the size of a walk-in closet to them. "It's good to see you both. "
"And as well as could be hoped for."

Delilah watched the two out of the corner of her eye as she set about putting up the items in her bags. Quenton had addressed the lack of an organizational system so she just placed things were they should have been easy to find and in reach. Having one arm, she was sure closer to the lower levels would be best. "No but thank you. I just remembered you saying you didn't have much before." Delilah called back as she closed the cabinet and looked back at him. "Even if it is simple, something solid could help get your strength back." She walked back into the room with the other two and glanced towards Hannah before looking back at Quenton.
"I apologize for the sudden phone call and arrival. I worried Hannah mentioning to her the release from the hospital and she wanted to see you for herself. Though she in turn concerned me." Delilah released honestly as she tried to break the tension. "Might I ask what you were working on?" Her hands motioned towards the pages he had picked up.

“I’m okay for now, but if you’re hungry I’d be happy to make something for you.” She replied to Quenton’s inquiry all the while following Delilah’s lead by setting the grocery bags on the counter before side stepping around her to put the milk in the near empty fridge. She wasn’t kidding, he really doesn’t have much she thought solemnly.
“Hmmm…” I should see about making him some precooked meals, pasta maybe? What if he’s not a pasta person… What if he’s not a soup person… Oh no. Hannah subconsciously shrugged her shoulders when she closed the door. I should just ask what he likes, just in case. Something other than soup, ehh soup gets boring after a while.
Not so absorbed in her own inner dialogue, Hannah listened to the conversation going on behind her. With a raised eyebrow she flashed Delilah a ‘look’ when she had mentioned worrying her That’s an understatement. Curiosity piqued by Delilah’s question, the periwinkle haired girl paused what she was doing to look over at Quenton for she too wanted to know what he had been working on before they arrived.

"I haven't eaten yet, but I wouldn't want to just eat alone..it would be socially a little awkward for you to just make me food and then not eat as well? "
“ Just an Ensure for breakfast. Hospitals don't help appetites, much. I had at least one meal that was a vanilla Ensure, a vanilla pudding, a vanilla ice cream and something else....I don't remember what it was, but it was also flavored vanilla. It was just a fluke, the nurses assured me, to have a Vanilla Meal, but I understood in that moment all the connotations of the word that made it a synonym for 'boring'."
In relation to the question, Quenton rubbed his injured hand with his hale one, "One never knows when the trail of knowledge will end. What I know I have been trying to sketch. I want to give it to Ash or *********. Someone who could keep it, disseminate it. So much is just...compartmentalized. If we lose someone, their learning and experiences are just vapor. There's already no mentors, no easy contact short of directly meeting. "

The lady like manners in Delilah came out as she lifted the back of her right fingers to cover a giggle. The amount of Vanilla that he had eaten in the passing time could not have been good for anyone. Such a flavor over and over again dulled someone. Or just made them sick of it. So she took that cue as a different taste could be preferred. "What do you say we forgo girl's only dinner and share a meal here?" Delilah asked glancing back at Hannah to allow her the final say. Hannah was the grilled cheese wiz. Delilah ALWAYS burnt the bread.
Though when he finally addressed the papers, Delilah did come closer to him and watch. "Forgive me but who are Ash and *********?" Her voice was calm but she looked between the two for an answer or clarity. Though it was the idea of losing someone that gave Delilah the idea he meant their other lives. "So you are writing down what you have come to learn?"

Hannah gave her raven haired friend a smile and nodded her head “That works, however that means…” She paused for a moment placing both hands on Delilah’s shoulders, turning her around, and ushering her out of the kitchen area. “You are temporarily banned from the kitchen area. Unless…” she turned her gaze upon Quenton “You enjoy blackened sandwiches, then by all means you.” she looked back at Delilah with a raised eyebrow- a look that screamed ‘not a chance’,“can stay.”
“Umm, where can I find the pots and pans? Annnd how many sandwiches am I making?” She inquired, all that vanilla could not be good for a person even if it had been given to him by the hospital staff.
Hannah’s ears perked up at the mention of powered information and two names, like Delilah, she had never heard before. The two of them, Quenton and Delilah, have undoubtedly been a part of this war significantly longer than she had and though she spoke to many eternals and even General Benitoite, she had to admit her knowledge base on the inner workings of this war were next to none; which is why she chose to remain quiet on this topic and listen for now and to allow her red-eyed friend to ask all the questions.

“Guardian Cats. The talking kind with stars on their foreheads that aid either side of the conflict going on. Ash and ********* are two that I’ve met. ********* is a very round manx, Ash a silvery cat that walks around wearing a visor. “
“I suppose it isn’t everything I’ve learned. But at least a catalog of faces. Names that I’ve known. Something that could aid the creation of an actual database or addendum to a manual if any sort of formal alliance, training, or informational system is established among the protectorate. “ He turned the pages to the sketch of Acrucis. He didn’t know if Hannah had revealed herself to her friend, and Delilah’s recognition of the drawing or not would give him a better guess of that. There is the possibility of acting, but that wasn’t usually the case when seeing a sketch of a friend.

”Ah. I have only had the pleasure of meeting one. The one who awoken me as we say. A little ball by the name of Pippin.” And sadly that had been the last seen had seen of the small feline as well. In a way, she wondered if he was still going star struck at animal based senshi or if he had broaden his horizons.
As Quenton talked, Delilah watched him flip through the images. It was when he came to a face she knew very well and then seemed to pause a little longer than normal that the teenager shot him a look. The eyes were telling of it all and paired with the cocked head, she really wondered if he could have been anymore blunt. ”Hey Acrucis, you should see this drawing he did of you.” Delilah called back as she glanced towards the kitchen passing a look towards Hannah apologizing for the bluntness. But in all honesty, she did not feel like playing a mental game. ”You know, you could have asked.” She returned her attention back to the man before looking at the other pages.
”It would be interesting. Are you doing only Senshi or Agents as well?”

Hannah listened as the two conversed back and forth about guardian cats all the while rummaging around the kitchen looking for some cooking necessities. Hmm hm hmmm Hrm… nuuu… AH HA success! With a look of triumph Hannah set the newly found pot and pan on the countertop next to the groceries and turned to the other two.
”You should add Sheena to the list!” she piped up. ”She’s a little brown and creme colored kitten with a red star on her forehead, about this tall...” she gestured with her hands the cat’s approximate size. ”and wears a plaid red bow with an acorn on it. Let me tell you she packs quite a punch for a little one, having blasted her kitty shade with some lazer beam… Hannah shook her head with an amused smile on her face ”It was quite the welcome into senshidom I’ll tell you that much.”
Undoing the twisty tie, Hannah pulled out six pieces of bread assuming, for now, that they would each eat at least one sandwich; should someone want another she’d just make more - no biggie. Multitasking fun stuff, soup soup uhh… she reached over and picked up a can of Progresso chicken noodle soup, pulled up the tab, and peeled back the lid before dumping its contents into the empty pot. should be enough I think. Reaching over, she turned the knob for the back right burner on to setting 6, set the pot on the stove, then turned the left front burner onto setting 4 to let them both heat up while she buttered the bread for grilled cheese.
It was by the sound of her name… her other name that made Hannah freeze and turn her head slowly not truly believing she had just heard Delilah say her senshi name aloud. Not that they didn’t both already know who she was… but still this was a dorm was it not? Sure not many people out there knew who she was powered up, and heck chances are if someone did hear it well maybe they would think it was a screen name for something… who knows. Still, talk about being careless jeeze.
With an eyebrow raised and a bit of a scolding look directed at her friend, she set down the buttered bread and walked over to the table to see what they were talking about. ”Wow” her face shifted into one of surprise ”That’s amazing Qutenton!” and truly it was especially since they had only met on maybe three occasions; if you count her leaving and coming back the second time as two.

Sheena? He wondered if Hannah was wholly in on the whole ‘guard your identity’ thing that had so far dictated his and Delilah’s interactions. The admission from the latter on ‘awakening’ and another cat name, Pippin, was all that was needed. We are all senshi here. Odds are good that Delilah is ‘Phact’, that Acrucis mentioned as her go to for needful things. ‘senshidom’? Awkward jargon. Is this what the high schoolers refer to it as?
He considered both the girls together, now both close enough to be looking at the sketchbook. They were a puzzling dynamic. Delilah, at least, seemed more appropriately cagey and guarded. Maybe Acrucis would survive. Maybe some of it would wear off on her by proximity.
Maybe I shouldn’t hold my breath, either. He closed the sketchbook and set it aside, “Everything and everyone- faction notwithstanding. Its slow going as a function of free time to do the sketches compared to the college work and commissions, but there’s a handful. If either of you feel like adding to the same, we can try to set something up with the cats. The primer on the phones they make got there somehow, and its on phones already loaded when they’re handed over. “
“It would would be nice to get the information to the knights as well. Did either of you scan Pippin or Sheena to be able to get a hold of them? The cats do have phones. ********* can be a person, as well. I...hadn’t heard about lasers before. “
