Thanks again! -Z// The text was sent to Ever rather out of the blue, but Zac did feel the need to find someone to spar against, he was feeling rather like his only consistent points were tattoos, and getting his a** kicked. Not that picking a spar with someone who was clearly more experienced, and had earned a higher rank was the best idea to cure the latter problem, but it might help him learn a thing or two, right?

Ever came because Zac had asked, and for once he wasn't horrendously frustrated by the fact that it was a text message, as always. He still didn't reply, of course, still didn't let Zac know that he was on his way until he showed up at his right elbow, both eyebrows raised and expression somewhat bemused. "What have you been up to, then?"

He started slightly at Ever’s arrival, so caught up had be been in examining the runes of his blade that he’d drifted into his own world, one that had more than a few shadows of the Haunted House hanging over him. “Dah… Christ Mate, no wonder I keep loosing my fights.” He shook his head at his own folly. “Well… I guess that tells you a bit of What I’ve been up to, did alright on a team when we went to this island of creepy dolls. But I haven’t done so hot in spars, don’t even get me started on that damned ‘House’ we get set to guard.” He shuddered slightly at whatever had happened and shook his head. “I need to practice mate… figured with your experience I could learn a thing or two.”

"I'd thoroughly kick you a**, though." He patted Zac on the cheek as he said it, easily shaking himself out and settling in front of the other man: a little amused, shaking his head just a hair. Unfair fights, and as nice as that was for his ego, it didn't much help in any other way. "It hardly seems ilke that'd be much use. Although, I'm guessing you have at least used your weapon's special ability...?"

“Well…I’ve tried.” He admitted and sighed. “I missed, both times. It was pretty spectacular, screaming blade, misses its mark totally.” He rolled his eyes at himself. “Even if you kicked my a** I’m getting used to that, it’s learning to get the licks in I need to do.” He shrugged. “Unless you want to spend the whole time blocking, I guess that’d be practice in it’s own right.”

"Do you know what it does? Your, ah, charge." that made him raise an eyebrow, something in his mouth quirking, as if to say sure, I can show you what to do with your screaming blade. Even as he mocked, though, he stepped back toward the field, shaking himself out some, preparing. His own two-piece weapon would appear in his hands, and Ever shook out the chain behind him. "I didn't know until I'd hit someone with it."

Was there a bit of red under that dark skin? “I know what it does when I –try- to hit, but no, I don’t know what it does when I –do- hit. She says….” He hoisted the blade. “It’s a heavenly bitchslap and it should be respected, or something to that effect.” The direction of his gaze suggested that she’d said something perhaps…less appropriate. “So all I know for sure is that she screams bloody murder… no idea what she does if she actually hits her mark.” He was trying hard not to let a smile out, though it was clearly there at the corners of his mouth, fighting to turn into a grin at his own awful attempt at more deliberate double entendre.

He took a breath and shifted the balance of the blade, feeling her out before swinging it towards Ever’s shoulder. He wasn’t really out to do serious damage just yet, but he knew well enough to aim to incapacitate if nothing else. “How’s your end table holding up?” He asked, trying at least to keep the conversation civil though if it turned into the two of them attacking each other he’d be used as a mop to clean up the training grounds. “And…the rest of your days purchases.” He added with a small cough of a cleared throat. “Were they everything hoped for?” HP: 40 Dmg: 9 Charge: 1/3

There was something startled in Ever's expression, like the question was a surprise, unexpected, and maybe that was why he failed to defend -- but it melted, quickly, to amusement, both arms raising a bit too slowly to fend off the attack, but prepared for the next one. "Well. We haven't fully tested out the end table, yet." He tipped his head as he said it to grin down at Zac. "You want to come have a go?" HP: 41/50 DEF: 4

That earned a sharp laugh and a momentarily averted gaze. “Might depend what you had in mind Mate. Though won’t your bloke have a few things to say?” he arched an eyebrow and took another swing, this time he aimed low, not so high as to risk mashing anyone in the jibblies, but rather intended for the knee or foot if that was all he could manage, using the butt of his weapon. HP:40 DMG: 6 Charge 2/3

Zac caught him, but glancing: the sheath of Ever's weapon coming down to divert it not-quite fast enough. This time, he focused, eyes on Zac's face, wary as he waited for the next blow. "...I doubt it. And especially not if you issue him an invitation..." HP: 39/50 DEF: 8
