AllSummedUpNJazz Isolean: Rises up on her hind legs to try and reach a bright red apple, but falls short by an inch or so. "Come on." she says stretching as far as she can. "Where is Reginald when i need him?" Roman Foi Thane paused in his night stroll when he heard what sounded like a frustrated mare not too far from where he stood. Detouring mostly out of curiosity, he saw what looked like a golden mare under an apple tree. It was shocking there was still anything left on it, given the increasingly dropping temperature, and the change of season. Not wanting to spook her in the darkness, he called out. "Would you like some assistance, miss?" AllSummedUpNJazz Hearing a voice she turned her head and noticed a stallion who looked like a fallen piece of the night sky and with those wings he very well could have been. She gave a smile and gently lowed herself back the ground. Her golden horse shoes and sparkling white fangs glittering in the autumn moonlight. "If you could spare a moment that would be lovely." she replied tossing her head to get her bangs out of her eyes. She took a step back from the tree as he approached. "I'm almost there and that's perhaps the most frustrating part." she added with a little laugh. Roman Foi Being the gentlemen that he was, he'd never think of refusing a lady's request for help. Laughing with her, he nodded in understanding. "I can see how that would be frustrating. Is it that one there?" He confirmed, before raising onto his own back legs, for which unicorn horn could easily sever the stem of the apple from its branch. With his wing to ease the fall of the fruit, Thane was able to return to all fours with the apple balance on his thick wings. "And here you are, m'lday," which he said with his signature grin. AllSummedUpNJazz His smile was contagious, so she gave a little grin herself. "Very tastefully done. Thank you." she said taking it delicately by the stem and setting it down on top of a rock for later. "Im Isolean." she said looking him over. Something seemed familiar about him but she couldn't quite place it. "and you are?" she added a hint of curiosity in her voice. in the back of her mind she heard a voice wondering what his blood would taste like but she was doing her best to push those urges aside. Roman Foi It was true that the fangs did set off a few warnings in his head, but being around Cato so entirely much, the obvious kalona blood the mare had was no fright to him. He only saw a very pretty mare before him, with innocent curiosity. "Its a pleasure to meet you Isolean. I'm Thane." He smiled kindly, and paused before continuing to ask, "Are you alone out tonight?" The idea made him uneasy, as he did a quick sweep with his eyes and ears around them. Just a few nights before, he'd had a round with an arrogant (and dangerous) stallion which neither had come on top; It had been a forced draw as both were reaching their limits. Who knew what else lurked in this forest? "I'd hate for you to be out here all by yourself..."

She didn't have the heart to tell him that she was one of the things to be afraid of. . .or at least that she used to be. That life was behind her now mostly.
"Well i have my familiar Reginald somewhere around here he keeps me a breast of most situations and certainly any dangerous ones." she replied casually "besides I'm not entirely unarmed." she added looking up at her hair piece. "its a lot more than pointy. ill tell you that much"
Painted on the tips was a an ample amount of toxin that caused paralysis in anyone foolish enough to p***k themselves on it. It was how she used to taken down her prey or anyone who decided they needed to "slay a vampire."
Wait? Did he say that his name was Thane? she thought that's why he looked familiar.
"Thane? Your Mothers name wouldn't happen to be Reii yuki would it? Because that's who the apple is for. Im on my way to see her." she said with a note of excitement.
Good work. Yuki if this is what your son looks like, what kind of prize was the father? she mused.

Thane couldn't suppress his smirk at her mention of her head ornate. It certainly did look like it would hurt, but what was more convincing that the mare herself seemed more formidable the average lady. She had a confidence that rivaled sauntering stallions. And was that blood on her hooves? Icy prickles of nerves tickled his stomach, and he began to see more clearly the danger this mare possessed.
He was in the middle of thinking of how to form his polite goodbye when the mention of his mother took him so off guard he almost stumbled. "My... my mother? She's in the area? You know her?" He shook his head, confused by what she was saying. Was this a trick? "How do you know my mother?" He was slightly panicked, unsure of how to take this information. And it was so late... would she really be delivering a singular fruit in the middle of the night to the mother of a stranger she barely knew? No... this seemed more than peculiar.

She noticed his unease but decided to address his surprise instead. Through experience she found that purposely trying to set people at ease usually had the exact opposite effect. So it was best just to ignore it and let him decide how comfortable or uncomfortable to be .
Giving a gentle laugh and shaking her head to show her amusement she replied with good humor.
"Yes I know her. Is that really so surprising?" She asked "believe it or not she helped raise me."
She paused to allow that to sink in. Perhaps it would win her some brownie points, ergo she could convince him to come with her. Maybe it would make things a little easier. She wasn't exactly sure what their reaction would be to her. This was after all the first time she had returned home . . . Since she ran away.

"S-she raised you? When?" He was increasingly bewildered and unnerved. If she really knew his mother, was she in trouble by this... association? But he stopped abruptly. He'd realized he was becoming increasingly rude and blunt, and he immediately corrected his attitude.
Taking a step back, he bowed his head and a small smile reappearing on his maw. "I'm terribly sorry Miss Isolean. I shouldn't be so improper. You only... caught me off guard by quite a bit." He laughed once, a little breathy. "Please accept my apologies. I just wasn't aware my mother was in the area... last I checked home, she was quite a distance away by the ocean. You can say I have a guilty conscious for not checking in more often." He looked away, abashed. "Of course I will accompany you, especially if you do say you're going to see Reii Yuki... black with touches of blue, and long braided hair?" He confirmed, half hoping that this mare had the wrong Reii Yuki. Not because he did not want to see his mother but because he wouldn't have to face the guilt of not seeing her sooner. Or the eerie mare that stood before him being associated with his mother in a way that not only shocked him, but frightened him.

"It's alright I know how I appear. True her home is by the ocean but now that her eyesight is getting worse she feels a little safer staying with my grand mother and her teepee mates. When your father is off and about." She replied. Though it was true she hadn't seen her makeshift family in years she did keep tabs on them. She turned toward the woods as she heard Roderick's distinct chittering off in the trees.
"If it makes you feel any better I probably haven't been home in twice maybe three times as long as you have." She added.
At his mention of his mothers appearance she she gave her eyes a little roll "The one I'm talking about is a large green monster." She replied sarcastically and turned to give a whistle for Roderick. The gold and black bat swooped in aves moments later and landed on her rump.
"It's not much further mistress." He said eyeing the stallion warily.
"This is thane. Thane this is Roderick." She said picked the apple up and gave to to Roderick "hold this Roderick. Shall we go?" She asked and started to walk the appropriate direction.
She knew that the night couldn't last forever it was best for her to make use of the dark while she had it.
