I just got back from RealmsCon. One of my friends tried to introduce me to someone called Mr. Creepypasta, AND I HAVE NO IDEA WHO THAT IS. Apparently, there's some internet thing to do with him? What? Someone explain please.

In short...

Creepypasta are essentially internet horror stories, passed around on forums and other sites to disturb and frighten readers. The name "Creepypasta" comes from the word "copypasta", an internet slang term for a block of text that gets copied and pasted over and over again from website to website. Creepypastas are sometimes supplemented with pictures, audio and/or video footage related to the story, typically with gory, distorted, or otherwise shocking content.

Creepypasta varies greatly in length and quality, though many of them follow a few set formulas:

Anecdotes. The narrator remarks on a scary legend, news story, or event from their own past.
Rituals. A list of instructions for the reader, claiming that if they go to a certain place at a certain time, and perform specific actions, something remarkable and/or horrifying will happen.
The Lost Episode. The narrator tells the story of a never-before-seen episode or scene from a famous TV show, typically a comedy or children's cartoon, where the audio and video is heavily distorted and characters begin acting strangely or violently, killing themselves and/or each other.

Oh I love creepypasta! My faves are the ones to do with pokemon and the ritual ones.

I dunno. I don't like horror. It's usually too unrealistic to be scary. I'm the one going "That splatter pattern is all wrong." and "That's probably the dumbest thing you could do." I tried to watch Machine Girl (Japanese horror film) with a friend who insisted I'd like it (because it was Japanese). I just got irritated. They're predictable and boring for me. I actually got so mad at Machine Girl, I started yelling swear words at it in Japanese.

Thrillers, on the other hand, I like. That is, as long as all the plot holes are filled in, and there's plenty of original thinking.

I dunno, I'm weird. I don't like most comedy either. xD

I know how you feel. The only thing in Horror that ever actually creeped me out and scared me was the PT interactive trailer for Silent Hills that came out last year. :T First time in my life I was genuinely freaked out by something that was supposed to do so! Sadly, the game was just cancelled.
