Mmm...

With a yawn and a slow, sinuous stretch, Liani rose to face a new day. She had had a wonderful night; as always, she had slept the deep, untroubled sleep of the innocent. Whether she was truly innocent or not was questionable; after all, she'd always lived according to her own moral code, dating back to her loose upbringing by parents who could charitably be called hippies. She'd never had to rein herself back, not in behavior, not in words, and not in opinions. And through it all, she glided, unphased by anything. Sure, she'd rubbed a few Soquili the wrong way over the years; at her age, who hadn't? But if they'd responded in any sort of negative way, lashing out, crying, getting angry....it all rolled off of her like water off an Usdia's back. Consequently, as far as her conscience was concerned, she was deserving of the sleep of the innocent.

And she did really like sleep. She'd always been a languid creature, one who prefered to saunter rather than run, to lounge rather than roam. She had a casual approach to activity, one that said she would avoid it if possible. However, in spite of her love of relaxation, she was a roamer; she had yet to find a place that she liked well enough to stay, so although her pace was slow and her path was indirect, she was a mare on the move. Rather like a jellyfish, she'd always thought; floating through the currents of life, more existing than living.

But she wasn't depressed by that knowledge. She liked jellyfish, even if she didn't understand exactly how they managed to be animals, and she liked her life. There had been a time when she'd hoped for more for herself, but that had been a pipe dream; one day, she would find something that was more realistic for herself. And in the meantime...

"Mmm..." She said again, stretching out her neck and each of her four limbs. It had been a great nap, but she really ought to see about finding something to eat. And maybe a pond or stream of some sort to take a nice long soak in; she was starting to get a little gamey. She wasn't proud, so it wasn't like she was worried about running into anyone and scaring them with her stench; still, she would rather clean up sooner rather than later. Besides, she was bored. Bored, with a capital B. She didn't have any real plans to change that, but she had a few hopes; hopes that maybe where there was water, there was life. And where there was life....

A mischievous grin curved Liani's mouth, changing her expression at once from lethargic and languid to impish and sassy. Where there was life, there was interest.
