(Before note: I based this character on myself, so rping for me will be much more real-like and decisions my character makes will seem much more real and less imaginary) Name: Katherine Chang Nickname: Kat, Kathy Age: 13 Birthday: 4/4 Sign: Aries Gemstone: Diamond Blood Type: O Fav. Food: Plums (candied, preserved, in tea, anything!) Hated Food: Artificial food (tastes so...fake) School: Crystal Academy (scholarship for excelling in the Arts) Hobbies: Catching the Perfect Moment-- Photography is one of Katherine's favorite hobbies, as she enjoys capturing life at its greatest moment. Never seen without her trusty camera, Katherine is constantly taking pictures-of friends and strangers, birds and bees, anything that strikes her at a particular moment. She particularity likes taking pictures of flowers, specifically plum blossoms during the winter, when the pinks and reds of the blossoms contrast brightly against the white of the snow. A Life of Music-- Singing, listening, composing. All different ways to engage in music. Ever since Katherine was young, she had always been singing or humming one tune or another. It is a way for her to pass time, when there is nothing particular to do. Her preferred themes of music include operas and musicals, as well as pieces from the classical and romantic periods. Virtues: Steadfast to the Truth-- Katherine has always been told that she has a strong will. Fighting until the end, she will never give up or give in to the enemy. In situations when she there are two (or more) opposing sides, she prefers to stay neutral, although when she chooses a side a side to fight for, she will never give up or give in to the opposing side, standing strong, like a plum blossom withstanding the harsh storms of winter. Work hard, Live life better-- Hard work and dedication bring success. That is what Katherine's parents have always told her. Try your best in whatever you do, don't ever give up, is her daily motto to start the day. Katherine gives it her all, when doing something, and aims for the best possible results she can attain. Despite the hurdles life throws at her, Katherine keeps going at it will all she's got. Look Towards the Sun-- Optimism is looking at the brighter side of things, at the better in situations. Katherine's natural optimism helps cheer to those around her when they are feeling down, bringing light into their world when they have little. She sees the good in desperate situations, able to bring hope to others. Keeping in the Secrets-- Everyone needs a solid rock, a foundation, to lean on every one in a while. Katherine serves as the "boulder" in her small group of friends, someone who they can trust their feeling secrets with. Anything secret that goes into Katherine stay inside Katherine. Never will she blabber another's personal secret to anyone else; unless, of course, the person with the secret asks her to do so, although such is very unlikely. Flaws:Hard-headed, Thick-skulled-- Disagreeable. Indisputable. Makes someone want to slam her head against the wall. That is Katherine down to a few words. She has always insisted on certain things, and doesn't budge. Ever. Her parents have sighed in frustration, teachers hidden twitching eyes behind textbooks, all throughout her life. When convinced of something, she fights until the end for her cause, not backing down, getting her into a lot of trouble, since some of the things she is convinced of is not "supported" by some of her friends, which leads to small fights about subjects within them (for example, Katherine strongly believes that artificial food, such as candy, is utterly disgusting and foul tasting. Her friends disagree). Words like knives-- Katherine is very blunt. She often doesn't watch her mouth, and so harsh truths are voiced aloud before she thinks them through. She prefers telling the truth straight on instead of sugar coating them, and thus her words often seem more harsh then they actually are. All her life, Katherine has been straightforward with those around her, sometimes criticizing them in a not-so-settle way. A few (read that as a lot) friendships have been broken because of her sharp way of criticizing her associates. Many feelings have been hurt, and few have been made up. Stress Makes Me Shut Down-- Stress. A simple word that causes devastation in its wake. No? Well, at least it does, for Katherine. For more than many times have her emotional state gone haywire as a result from too much stress. In cases of extreme pressure, from either peers or herself, she "shuts down", and cannot function without assistance from others until she "starts up" again. Which, by the way, happens every so once in a while, usually in the most urgent times when she is most needed. So encouraging. Playing the Blame Game-- Being a pro at a game is usually considered something to brag about. Excelling at the Blame Game, though, isn't anything to be proud of. Katherine holds the title of "Experienced Professional" in said game. She has a bad habit of usually denying negative things that are accused of her, and then blaming someone else, pushing the responsibility onto them (which is why it is called the "Blame Game"). PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION Eyes:Color: Coffee brown (deep, dark, and heartwarming) Shape: Round-ish Hair: Color: Black (tinted brown) Type: something like this, with the hair band the color pink (same as the main color of her sailor form) and having a flower instead of a bow Face: Shape, features -- tell us if your character has a round or oval or heart-shaped face, freckles or not, big ears or not. Face: Heart-Shaped Freckles: Freckle-less Skin: Typical "Library" Chinese (the skin tone is lighter than the average Chinese skin, but still is the same color tone as it) Anything else: Simple accessories, like a flower pendant on a simple piece of yarn. Clothes: Only if you're applying for an adult/DCU student. The artist reserves the right to not draw complicated outfits, and this will generally be your work clothes if you are older. You will most likely be getting a simply drawn outfit/uniform.

Senshi: Sailor Mie, Senshi of plum blossoms Challenge: I'll bloom bright against the storm! Fuku Colour: Main Color: See sketch below Secondary Color: See sketch below Fuku: I sort of did a light sketch of how I want the fuku to look like (I mixed some of the fashions of china, such as the qipao and aristocratic sleeves of the 300 AD's, and the classic sailor fuku together) Collar -- Sailor collar extends from top (see sketch) Bow -- See sketch for back bow. Front bow... You design it Bodice -- See sketch, but feel free to make alterations of you wish Sleeves -- Long (see sketch) decorated with plum blossom flowers Brooch -- Flower shaped Bottoms -- Typical School girl skirt (the semi-short ones) Tiara -- Preferably Beaded Choker -- No need for choker as sailor outfit is high-collared Shoes -- Simple Chinese flats (in the secondary colour) Gloves -- No gloves Accessories -- Pink Hairband (which also appears on her civilian form), in main color Your MAIN COLOUR should dominate. Your SECOND COLOUR should be used for trimming. Attacks:Sailor Scout Attack: Mie Hua Blizzard- makes a circle of petals infront of her, plum blossom petals shoot forward at the enemy, trapping them in the petals, temporarily paralyzingly them for 15 seconds. -This attack works only on youma and lower leveled/powered enemies. More powerful enemies are unaffected by the paralysis, although the petals will cause at slight distraction to the enemy. -Usable up to 4 times per battle Super Sailor Scout Attack: Mie Hua Blizzard Blast- upgraded version of above; creates a halo of plum blossom petals around her head, moves hands outwards, petals shoot out in a circle around her at the youma who are surrounding her (hitting all the enemies in a 360 degree circle within a 4 feet radius around her), trapping them all in petals, temporarily paralyzingly them for a few seconds. -This attack is able to hit many enemies at once, unlike the previous attack where only one youma can be paralyzed at a time. -The ability to paralyze is extended to more powerful enemies (such as negaverse generals, corrupt Senshi, etc), although they can escape it after 10 or so seconds. Less strong enemies will be paralyzed for around 15 or so seconds -Usable up to two times per battle Eternal Sailor Attack: Mie Hua Blooming- beam of light carrying some petals hits an enemy, target is wrapped up by a large plum blossom bud, bud blooms and petals burst out of the opened flower, leaving the enemy depleted of 30% of strength (the enemy will feel tired and some attacks needing alot of power and concentration cannot be performed for the duration of the rest of the battle) -Can be used one time per battle

First of all, welcome to the shop! We're always excited for new people to join us. Now, I'm not a staffer, but I'd like to help you further your quest along, if that's okay?
Civilian side: Her hobbies look okay to me. Lots of photographers and musicians out there, so she'll find plenty of friends on that front!
The virtues have a good start. However, they seem a little... muddled, I think.

Virtues: The virtues have a good start. However, they seem a little... muddled, I think. However, you do need as many virtues as you have flaws!
I'm not sure how to phrase it but your strong-willed isn't like that? Strong-willed is having an opinion on things, and being kind of forceful to get your point across, but it doesn't necessarily mean being mean about it. This can also be read as stubborn. So your stubborn flaw is kind of redundant at this point.
Your hard working virtue blends with your strong-willed virtue of never giving up.
Together, both of these can read as dedicated and steadfast. You could combine them both to one virtue and come up with two new ones!
Flaws: The big one I'm concerned with is the Anxiety disorder. Mental disorders are not flaws in themselves. Yes, it causes a lot of other issues, but it in itself is not a flaw. I do not think mental disorders are allowed to be listed as a flaw, because it's a hot button topic and things can be taken personally if you do this.
For the stubborn flaw, you can't call it stubborn. Hard-headed is fine? Thick-skulled is fine as well!
If you're having trouble coming up with flaws, you can look through other accepted quests and see some of them!

Hello, and welcome again to ItNotM! I'm not a staffer either, but I`ll give you some help on your powered side. c: (Sergio, you are of course welcome to follow up, too!)
1. I`m not able to find "Mei" on a list of space objects. All senshi must have a real space object (star, planet, comet, etc.) to derive their power from. Could you please drop a link to Mei in the form, in case I just missed it?
2. Her fuku is very cute and meets all of the requirements!
3. I like that her attacks highlight the resilience of plum blossoms that we see in the rest of her! I think you`re restricting her first attack quite a bit in one aspect - it can hit anything, if you would like. For example, it can hit any one opponent - youma, Negaverse agents, Dark Mirror Senshi, etc. We treat total paralysis as a very strong attack, but 15 seconds might be okay. (A staffer or someone more sure can weigh in on this.) If not, I can also suggest just going for `very restrictive` and having the attack trip them up.
However, her super attack feels very powerful. I would suggest only two targets as an upgrade, since paralysis is so strong. A diameter for the attack is needed, too, so other players know if they are caught! Or she can target two in particular by pointing / gesturing.
Unfortunately, using youma-dusting is not as beneficial with her eternal attack, either. Some tweaks to canon have been made, so low level youma are not so hard to defeat. High-level / personal youma, on the other hand, are very strong and sacred to Nega-players, so few of them would agree with having theirs dusted. I do like the morph to an explosively blooming flower and that can definitely be kept! I would just suggest opening it up to all opponents and picking an effect (force burst, feeling cold, or even a healing aspect, since I see they are associated with medicine). You could even open her sphere up to "plums" in general and have exploding plums~
I hope this helps! Sorry that I couldn`t be more certain concerning paralysis.;;

Errr.... About the Sailor name... It was actually the asteroid Mie. I (sorta) swapped two of the letters around~ sweatdrop Hoped no one would notice... You see, 'Mei Hua' is the Chinese way of saying 'Plum Blossom' But there was no asteroid named Mei, so I went with Mie, but swapped the letters around I changed the attacks and sailor name to the actual asteroid name now, though.

I see the changes you made!
However, the anxiety disorder is still considered a mental illness and they are not considered flaws...
For the powered side...
Most people do an Area of Effect or pick a number of targets. For example, my Senshi of Poison has an area of effect for her poison gas attack, while my Senshi of Discord can us her super attack twice in battle and up two targets! Just something to keep in mind. <3

Hi there<3 Official Staffer here with your Official Staff Crit, haha~ ON THE CIVILIAN SIDE:For the most part, Kat looks pretty good! However, I am going to have to agree with Sergio - anxiety disorder is not a flaw. While the way you have it written is definitely very flaw-esque, realize that flaws are generally things people will dislike your character for, and so making a disorder a flaw is...problematic. You can use its effects as a flaw, though! For instance, Clarisse/Persephone effectively has severe Social Anxiety Disorder, but SAD is not one of her flaws; it does manifest in her social awkwardness, supreme discomfort around people she doesn't know, hatred of large groups, etc. ON THE POWERED SIDE:Number one I hella love her fuku design WHAT A CUTIE<3 I really, really think you should make her attack affect people as well as youma. 90% of the time she will be fighting Negaverse agents or Dark Mirror Senshi, not youma, and so making itonly affect them is crippling yourself unfairly. If you want it to not affect powerful characters, write it so that while people on her level are paralyzed for the full duration, stronger enemies are paralyzed for shorter periods! What is the duration and radius on her Super attack? How far does it reach and how long does it last? Either route you have for her Eternal attack works, I think, it's just your choice whether you want to go healing or damage! However, rather than percentages, note severity - what kinds of wounds can it heal? Cuts, bruises, broken bones? It should not be able to recover anything life-threatening fully, but partial rescue of nasty life-threatening injuries is fine. For damage, what kind of damage does it cause? Bruising? Slashing/cutting? Also, how many uses does she have of each attack? Quote me once you've made changes, or if you have any questions, and I will come back~

Okay, civ side looks good! Some more powered tweaks --
Her radius should be in feet, not meters; also, it's not usually "per transformation," it's "per battle" which is not often a super necessary distinction but sometimes can make a difference in things like multi-battle events!
As for her Super, 30 seconds is far too long for total paralysis. 20 seconds or so is much fairer. Total paralysis is a very powerful attack and so needs a very short time limit, because it means they can be whaled on with no ability to resist!

Yes! If it's after you acquire her as an official character, you'd go through the Character Revisions thread (which is in this subforum, stickied); if it's before then, you would have to repost the whole quest for approval since once it is fully stamped by a GM it will be locked and moved to the Accepted Quests subforum.
