Hmm, I saw that list so much differently. I found it hilarious. I think I find it funny for two reasons. The first reason being they picked fun at everyone, not just one or a few groups. Also because I have seen so many comedians do the same thing. I always found this kind of thing funny. The ironic part is I find the ones about people in my own group the most funny. I can see where these stereotypes come from, but at the same time I don't feel like just because you are white you are fat, etc.
As for the poll question, I picked other. The first thing I notice about people is their attitude. I am very sensitive to other people's emotions and I hate it. When someone angry walks in the door, it's like I can feel their negativity, and it puts me on edge. Working in customer service can be so hard sometimes. Like last night. It was the worst day I've ever had at work. So many negative people kept coming in. Everyone seemed to have a problem. I don't understand what was going on. Usually we get like one rude person a week. Last night it seemed to never end. It got so bad I had a panic attack at work. It was white people, black people, fat, skinny. No certain group. Jerks come in all forms. So do nice people. I just wish I had more nice people yesterday. crying

Well, Smoothie King usually isn't like that. Like tonight, we had one rude person. Some days we don't have any. How I deal with it... is a bit insane maybe, haha. When someone pisses me off, I go to the bathroom and just curse them out. I say every mean thing I would never say to their face. I just cuss like a sailor and then when I'm done, I just take a few deep breaths. It feels good to let it out, and nobody is harmed in the process, haha. The rude person we had today was like what your mom said. She got a smoothie which is all juice fruits, the only sustenance in it was bananas, and she asked to switch them with another juice fruit. So her smoothie was literally all liquid with ice. She takes one drink and says, "This is watery!" When of course in reality, it probably tasted great, it was LIQUID, not WATERY. But rather than just say it, she was mad about it. Like really. What food place have you ever been to that doesn't fix things you don't think turned out right, even when you are wrong? Instead of being polite about it, she got angry. Rather than get upset though, I was just rude right back. I said, "Well mam, you took out the only fruit that isn't a juice, I'm not sure what you expected. The only way I could make it thicker is to add more ice, and then it would have less flavor." That wasn't good enough for her. She was still mad. She said, "Well I don't want a liquid smoothie." I told her the only way to make it thicker would be to add an actual fruit. She decided on peaches and got her way, but didn't even thank us for remaking it. Instead she complained to her friend the whole way out the door about the first smoothie. Some people just like being angry I think.

My favorite hockey player is Austrian so I'm just laughing at the thought of him singing everywhere he goes, especially if it were selections from the Sound of Music.

So true! Stereotypes annoy me because people usually use them as an excuse for having their narrow and ignorant views on or about other people they know NOTHING about.

Ugh. mad I guess some people just feel superior when they think they know everything confused Yes, but to be honest, I don't think that's the real reason some people love stereotypes so much. For a lot of people, stereotypes give them an excuse to be racist and act like they aren't wrong for their hateful beliefs, and also be like, "well, but technically it's TRUE!" It's just...ugh. I think the only people who don't truly mind stereotypes are the ones that aren't negatively affected by stereotypes.

Different...Very. Haitians "Live in shacks made of aluminum sheets and tires held together with AIDS viruses" rofl This list is ridiculous beyond hilarity. It's a satire. Finally someone else thinks it's funny like I do, lol. I mean a lot of things on that list are used as hateful towards groups of people. But I just found it to be comedy. I think a lot of the problem with racism is people let it bother them. I'm not saying it's right to be racist just because it shouldn't bother people.. but half the reason people say some of these things is to get a rise out of someone. If someone calls you a racial slur and you just laugh and know that's not you, well.. it wasn't very effective for them. It's the same as in a situation where someone takes you the wrong way. Like when I was a line operator, my main concern was my line and how well it did. I could care less if people thought I was mean. I would hear rumors all the time of people talking smack on me, saying I was a b***h. I would just laugh. My drive to do well sometimes did cause me to come off as bossy. But I was the boss. xD So if people thought me doing my job by giving them an order was bitchy, so be it. I used to care so much about what people thought of me. But that really faded after high school. I know who I am, so if someone has a wrong opinion of me, I could care less. There are people at my current job who think I have OCD just because I clean. I'm getting paid to be there, so I'm going to work the whole time. It's a good quality I love about myself, pride for my job. But others see it as a mental disorder. xD Screw what other people think.
