Chris wished that being promoted to intermediate meant he didn't have to train anymore. He was sore and tired from yesterday, and he just wanted to crawl back to his dorm and try again another day.
Instead of getting right to it, he'd started to warm a spot on a bench in the training fields, watching others spar like he could train via osmosis. He could totally get rocking glutes just from watching unnamed hottie practice her lunges. Unfortunately, he was pretty sure that wasn't how it worked. He'd have to sucker someone into a spar soon.

Being away meant that Milo had fallen out of routine, really more for the sake of another one all together. It would have seemed to be easy to bounce back only being away for the few weeks he had been but the recent mission had put it in his head that it was okay to let it slide for just a bit longer. He allowed himself to sleep in, avoid most everyone, eat alone and quietly.
It was tempting to just stay in his basement room just a little longer but then Koume got into her nagging habit, asking him repeatedly how long he was going to act like a 'scareling' and sulk. Couldn't avoid that at all. Even if he did try to leave the belt buckle somewhere. There had been a few suggestions on how to appease her - like going to the beach or something - but the only one she seemed to be okay with was having him go to the training grounds. Freshen up on his skills, get back into habits, beat something up. She seemed fine with all of that - he honestly didn't either, just because he almost attacked Noemi didn't mean he never wanted to pick up his weapon ever again after all. Just didn't want to be compromised ever again. That sort of thing.

So, Milo found himself at the training grounds, one hand in a pocket while the other held the naginata - a little harder now given her increased size but if anime characters could sling huge things over a shoulder, so could he dammit. The Sun mulled over finding a partner versus just working with the dummies.

At her own joke, no less. < Go fight that guy who's sitting on the bench. > It took a few seconds for Milo to locate the guy the tengu was pointing out to him but soon enough, he found Chris just sitting there.
And approached him, "sup." With a wave. Wasn't going to have to sucker someone into a spar when one was already on his way.

Chris looked up at the voice and grinned. Though he recognized him as the guy Chel had pointed out with Noemi, Milo, he didn't really know him. Ava''s voice rang clear in his head, though.
"Hey. You out looking for a spar? I could be convinced."

"Was my intention," Milo grinned as he lifted Koume just a little off his shoulder for emphasis. "Haven't had a good spar in a while, ya."
Was this guy familiar? Milo's gaze fell into a squint as he tried to recall coming across Chris at any other given location. A mission probably, but those always went a little array that it made it difficult to recall whom he had met. Though, he did get the feeling he had seen the guy somewhere.

Chris stood and summoned Ava, who turned from the black leather strap on his arm into her more complex gauntlet self. He stretched his free hand out for Milo to shake. "I don't think we've been properly introduce yet, but I'm pretty sure you know my cousin, Chel. I'm Chris."

Milo gave an impressed whistle when the transformation of the leather cuff was complete, he hadn't seen too many gauntlets on the island himself; he wondered if it did anything like Konstatin's, though he seemed to lack all the glow-y bits as the Russian's weapon had. "Awesome."
When the hand was held out to him, he wasted no time in placing his in Chris' and giving it a nice firm friendly shake. "Oh! Relation of ZyuPink, awesome brah! 'M Milo, nice to meetcha."
This was fun already.darkheartedsorrow thought I'd roll initiative ouo

"What the hell's a zyupink?" Chris asked with a good natured laugh. He headed away from the bench he'd just been on to give them more room to move.
He wasn't above admitting that he just didn't want to trip and fall on his a**.

A fair question really, not many of the islanders here knew most of the names he used, "the original Pink Power Ranger, brah ~" He might have also done the pose to go along with the explanation, awkwardly really because of his weapon. "They were Zyuranger in Japan, ya." And then made to follow Chris into the larger space.
Milo gave the area a good look over with a little spin on his heel - might have also been trying to do something flashy as well, but without his coat it lacked a certain flair - and then gave the Hunter a small nod. "Hope you're ready." Chris let out a bark of a laugh, both at his weapon's confusion and at how much it made sense that Chel would be someone's pink ranger. "Yeah, that sounds a lot like her, actually."
All his mirth meant that he really wasn't prepared, but that was his fault and not Milo's. He skidded back a bit from the force and struggled to keep himself upright. Keeping himself from falling on his a** was a full time job that didn't leave a lot of room for striking back. "s**t." hp: 39/50 dmg: god dammit chris charge: 0/3

The laughing didn't phase him, too used to it by now but at least it didn't seem to all be at her expense, "really, couldn't think of a more fitting ranger for her, ya." Even if her hair was now blue, though he wasn't aware of that. Hadn't seen most of the Hunters with Zyu names for a while, really.
