This thread is for discussing potential plot ideas and story arcs for the host club and guests. Plots should not be confused with club events. The ideas here are meant as group-wide story arcs that people can get involved with and use to develop their characters and create connections with others in the group. Ex: Honey wants to learn how to cook and has heard that Lobelia's cooking courses are the very best. So he is seeking females to teach him how to impersonate a girl so he can infiltrate Lobelia and take the class, and is encouraging any other guys who want to join him to get involved as well. ALL ideas are encouraged and we very much want our guests to get involved in the creative process, so please don't feel shy in posting your ideas! CURRENT DISCUSSIONS 1. Durarara Crossover Episode. Quote Ootori_K, BOMB4Y, Kitomyx, and Hikaru Twin Hitachiin for more info on that idea. 2. Halloween! There are two different ideas for this theme so far. Quote Little Miss Shiny, Ootori_K, Yurei Surana, Hikaru Twin Hitachiin, and BOMB4Y to get involved in the discussion. -Group Halloween contest. Students are divided into a number of teams and must compete to make the best Halloween event, with possible spying and sabotage. -Haunted Host Club. As Halloween draws closer, rumors of a tragic death at the school start gaining momentum as strange things begin happening around campus.

Nekozawa's a Host here too, right? Why not something involving the Black Magic Club? Maybe a plot where the Host Club and the Black Magic Club team up for whatever the Halloween event is going to be?

Yurei Surana Nekozawa's a Host here too, right? Why not something involving the Black Magic Club? Maybe a plot where the Host Club and the Black Magic Club team up for whatever the Halloween event is going to be? We do have someone who plays Nekozawa, yes, as well as a couple of other characters who are involved in the Black Magic Club, so there's definitely potential for using that club in a story arc. Did you have anything more specific you were thinking of in terms of why they'd need to team up, or were you thinking more that the guild could all play on the same side for the big main event that Gaia puts on (providing that it has teams at all, since not all events do) and help each other out with the Gaia event actions?

Well, anything involving Gaia's event would have to wait until we actually KNOW what the event is, but maybe a Halloween Costume party with fortune-telling or a side-event of Nekozawa's devising? (And I am plenty capable of providing fortune-telling services to those interested.) Even if there are sides to take in the Halloween event, there's always a forum. Meaning the Host or Black Magic Clubs could do something there, like an open house rp or a Hitachiin Prank war, and draw the attention of the general public? (I was introduced to the Host Club when I ran into Kyouya during the Snowball Fight event last winter.)

Here's a plot mom might like: Shinra Inc. attempts to buy over the club - and eventually school - by force.
Can the hosts and guests change their minds!?

HAHAHA. Yes, I like yours, BOMB4Y. Not least because one of my other characters would certainly be involved. (In the interests of full disclosure, yes, Reno is my puppet, in case anyone here hadn't figured that out.)
I certainly welcome Rufus to attempt to purchase my our club. *quietly amused* Or his father to attempt to purchase the school.

With regards Halloween and the Black Magic Club, one of the things I think is lacking in our group at times is a bit of conflict. The anime and manga had the Halloween event being an inter-class competition. I think we could do the same thing. Especially since the Halloween event is not run by club; it means that people could end up on sides far different than they're accustomed to.
I think that getting involved in the Gaia event would be great, when we know what it is. In terms of actual plot as opposed to event, might I suggest splitting into two or three teams chosen at random (read: assigned by the teachers), in order to make the greatest fright-fest Ouran has known? The plot becomes the planning (*cough* and spying on other teams), which builds up to the event of the actual fright-fest. Perhaps parents and siblings are invited to attend the show? (Of course everyone is welcome to NPC their families, no profiles required.)
Just a thought on my end; if that's not plot-ish enough for the rest of the hosts, that's fine too. I know that planning-things is very much a Kyouya sort of thing to do, and not necessarily anyone else's.

Oh -- and hey. BOMB4Y, Kit, and Hikao. We need to have a little confab, as there's discussion of the DRRR cast descending on Ouran again ... Yes, I promise to bring Dotachin Kadota as long as we can figure out a good excuse for us all being here. Hikao has threatened to bring Simon, too. wink

BOMB4Y I'm fine with nerfing them into high school students, and keeping their current personalities since we're a little more familiar with it. It seems easier too haha! whee Having them older would make it sound like they're being irresponsible adults... which they likely are, but it doesn't seem so pleasant to have in Ouran, which is a nice, posh school, huh? yum_puddi *amused* But yeah, I think it would be more suited if they were younger. Aaaaanyway -- I forgot to quote you on my other post, and yes, please, the Shin-ra Company or its presumptive heir are both welcome to attempt purchasing Ouran or the Club ... (key word there is "attempt" ...)

Personally, more event planning, even if styled to be a competition between groups, isn't very appealing. The Shinra idea is also cool, but maybe for after the holidays, since exploring something to tie into the bigger events could be very fun. I do like the idea of throwing a little mysticism into the mix, similar to the fortune-telling thing. It's Halloween after all, the one time of year when the supernatural becomes more believable and otherworldly things more likely to exist. Maybe... a haunting? The story of a tragic accident that happened on campus is discovered and odd things start occurring... sure the cold drafts and flickering lights could be explained by faulty wiring, and those strange noises could just be those animals that escaped from the science lab - but what if they're not? What if they're an elaborate prank caused by a restless spirit, and it's up to the students to figure out how to put it to rest?

Heh, we all know where my character falls on the mysticism spectrum. I'm totally cool if you guys want to do something like that, real or fake, but be prepared for one very skeptical Ootori. wink (Especially after last year.)
