His hair had been combed back as best as it could look using a small pool of water as a mirror and he was clutching a handful of wildflowers that he had selected as he walked the path to Alma's home. Chal hoped that she would be there, remembering where he had dropped her off after the Valentine's party. With any luck, it had been enough time since the party and she wouldn't be grounded anymore. He was an adult now after-all now. They had been teens when they played the truthful game that led him to going on his first date ever. Chal had tried then to make it the best first date ever, trying to do what he thought his dad might do in the great romance story that was his parents' relationship. In that, he had likely fallen very short though. The male felt he at least owed it to Alma to give her a second date that wasn't necessarily 'forced' by a silly game. The shetani was still living at home with his parents, and wasn't in any rush to leave either, so it wasn't a very long walk. Now he stood at the doorway of Alma's home. The male took a deep gulp, his courage was in there somewhere. He lifted his hand to the door and knocked softly once, evidence of his uncertainty, but the knocks that followed grew louder as his commitment to this grew too.

The knock at the door was unexpected, in their area they didn't often get visitors. Dusting the rock dust off her hands she called out, "One minute!". Eagerness to answer the door and see who it was was offset by the newest house guest. Her little kitten was the cutest thing ever, but oh could he get into his own bit of trouble. With some hunting, and a table almost completely turned over, she found the little critter. He was her very one kitten cat, or Kit Kat as she chose to call him.
Holding the creature against her chest to keep him still and not running away, she walked to the door. There was a moment of pause before her excitement got the best of her. Grabbing the door knob she opened the door wide and called out, "Welcome!" before she'd even registered who she saw.
Green eyes met gray and she burst into a smile bouncing on the balls of her feet. "Chal? Oh it is great to see you again! Do you want to come in?" Her head was racing through the manners lessons, it was polite to invite people in even if you didn't know why they came. Certainly it didn't matter why he was there, she was just thrilled he was! Getting in trouble was well worth it, the night had been so much fun and ended awesomely.
Hardly contained, she rattled off, "I am so glad you are hear, how you doing?"Maybe well? Maybe he'd want to spend more time with her?! So few friends most of her life, those she did have were treasured.

One minute, that was enough time to change his mind and dart off. No, Chal was not a coward. He had no reason to be afraid of this anyways. As she opened the door, he smiled when their eyes met. "Hey Alma," his voice was more relaxed than hers. She was just as energetic now as she had been before, so much so he could hardly keep up. "Ah... yes... sure? If it is ok? Are you grounded? Here-these-are-for-you." He said in one breath as he held out the flowers to her, trying to make sure he covered all the bases. The male took a deep breath and finally let go of a chuckle. Real smooth. Things never really went quite how he wanted them to, but what could he do about that. "It's good to see you again." He finally said, calmer this time. "You've grown," this made him happy, since he had recently grown as well.

Still bouncing, it was easy for her to jump to the side to allow room for him to enter. Though she paused when he offered her the flowers. Blinking at them a moment, her already big smile grew, "Yes you can come in, nope not on grounded," At least she didn't think she was, a grown up after all! "Oh they are pretty thank you, thank you!" Happily she accepted the gift kitten in one hand flowers in the other. Pink tinged her cheeks, this was the first time she'd gotten flowers form anyone not her momma and they were from Chel! Squealing a little she was momentarily distracted by the flowers and the kitten playing with the flowers.
His comment about her growing had her attention and she did a dramatic 360 degree turn and beamed at him, "I did! Never thought I would but I did! You grew up too, very handsome!" Complimenting him, she couldn't help but be on cloud nine. After being a child for so long, to now be a grown up talking to another grown up was just unbelievable! "Oh let me put these up!" Darting from the door to the adjoining kitchen she took out a stone vase that she made herself and water from the drinking water bucket and placed the flowers, fluffing them while the kitten sat on the counter.
Bouncing back to Chal, she leaned over to give him a kiss on the cheek in thanks for the flower. "I love the flowers!" She could hardly have thanked him with the kitten in her arms but now she could!

"Oh cool." Chal said nodding his head, feeling pretty stupid. Of course she wasn't grounded, what parent could keep an adult locked inside? He was at least thankful that she was still living here. The boy perked up when it seemed like she liked the flowers. "You're welcome, I'm glad you like them." Chal tilted his head, his attention being drawn to the kitten which he only noticed after he had given her the flowers. Chal watched her walk away to put the flowers away, deciding to stay put... awkwardly at the entrance of her home. He fiddled with his feet as he waited, groomed his feathers a little, snapping back up when Alma returned and then going completely still when she kissed him on the cheek. Chal's face turned the darkest state of red achievable, and even his voice choked up. "G-good." He managed to stammer out. Before he forgot, but noticing it was gone now, "What did you have in your arms... before?"

He turned red! Completely distracted by the blush, fun like her hair, she took a delayed second to answer his question, "Kit kat? Oh I have to show you!" Turning she swiftly dive-bombed the unsuspecting cat. One moment kit kat was licking his paws, the next a shadow enveloped hm.
Before the sweet animal could escape, she had him safely cuddled in her arms. The lack of resistance both an indicator the cat didn't mind, or was throughout used to the exuberance.
Each bouncing step brought her back to Chal. "This is my kitty cat, I named him Kit kat." Petting the animal affectionately she recounted how she found him. "I went to this fair thing they had going on, super fun! Did this game by the lady whoes cake I topped by accident." Sulking a moment, she cheered right back up when the kitten meowed at her. Was that not just the cutest thing ever?! "I won a cake in the cake walk. That cake turned into Kit kat!"
Twisting her shoulders side to side, she hugged the poor cat and squealed a little as she finished her story, "Isn't he just the most adorable kitten you've ever seen? I love his colors and he is so sweet."

"Did she remember you?" Chal asked about the game as he looked at the cat, now that he was looking at it for a longer moment, he did suppose it had some feline features to it. He couldn't remember if Alma had been caught in the act or not, they had kind of taken off in a hurry after the truth or dare game, probably for the best from what he had heard afterwards. "Yeah, he's probably the cutest kitten I've seen," never mind the fact that it was the only kitten Chal had ever seen. Kit Kat's coloring looked vaguely familiar... but Chal couldn't quite place it. He reached out to pat the cats head, a foreign, but somehow comforting feeling for him. "Cool. I hope I didn't interrupt you or anything, I was just wondering how you were doing..." Did he mention that he was trying to make up for the last date? Chal decided against it, "Do you want to hang out or something?" He didn't feel like he was doing any better at this than last time, perhaps it was a good idea that he didn't mention he was trying to improve on last time.

Alma shook her head at his question, "I don't think she knew it was me. I didn't get a chance to say I was sorry." The kitten had distracted her, then more creatures appeared. The truth might be that she hadn't tried hard enough, the kitten was so cute. There was no excuse, she knew better. Next time she promised herself, she'd prologize. It had been an accident after all.
In her arms Kit kat purred as he was petted by Chal, pushing his head into the hand seeking more.
Alma tried to reassure him, "Not at all, I was just working on making bricks, I can do that any time..except in the house." That one she may have had to be told once or twice more not to do.
"Ooo" Alma cooed excited by the idea of hanging out with him again. "Yep!" The little hamster on the wheel in her mind spun like crazy before she got an idea. "Why don't I pack something and we can go to the beach? We can play a great game while we are there! What do you say?" Back to bouncing on the balls of her feet she waited for his answer. The game was a great game she didn't get to play often and would be oh so much fun! Unless he had better ideas, then those would be more fun.

"No making houses inside the house!" Chal teased her, as he remembered her talking about her dream to build houses the last time they had been on a date. "That... going well for you?" He asked curiously, she was still living at her old home, so she hadn't made one for herself yet it seemed. "Oh ok, that sounds like fun." A beach date, that was a great idea. Of course... it wasn't really a date, since neither one of them had said so, but Chal still had the idea of it sort of being one in his mind. "As long as the game is not truth or dare... can't imagine that's very fun with only two anyways." Chal took a deep breath, deciding to come out clean about it being a date, but being careful about he said it. "It's a date." He said, trying to make it sound like it could be a jest if it wasn't something she was comfortable with.

Alma gave a guilty laugh, looking at her feet as her left foot tapped the ground toes first. "Not even little ones." She tired to be a good daughter, she really did! But building was so much fun! Momma had to tell her one too many times about not building houses in the house. The lesson did sink in...mostly. The drawings of designs were everywhere in her spaces.
Her head popped back up as she excitedly told him, wings buzzing, "Yes! I am getting much better with making the bricks and making them work together! I can make so much more now that I am older. One day I'll have a big house of my own! I just can't decide which plan I like more. Soon, I'll be the builder everyone wants!" Hoping off the ground, she floated a few seconds before letting herself land. Homes kept pae comfortable, together and safe. It was such a sense of pride that she might one day be called to make what will become some pae's sanctuary.
He liked her idea, and reminded her of the game. Laughing warmly she said, "But the game was so much fun and ended great!" Their date, while just a dare, was certainly fun. For her the whole party was an unending blast. Well, the cake was an accident but the rest was pure joy.
Turning to go to the kitchen, she stopped in mid step when he called it a date. Like a real date? Blinking at the wall she let that one settle in before she looked at Kit Kat, "Well you have to stay here than, no three on a date." Looking back she smiled "I'll make something extra special then! But I won't go easy on you in the game." With a playful wink she dashed off. Competitive spirit just didn't respect date rules. There were rules for dates right?
Hitting the kitchen she finally released the cat. In a basket she threw an old blanket, plates, wrapped up cake that was so far saved from the cake thief. In the basket went a pasta salad, a cucumber salad she'd started working herself. lots of the fruit they had around. Fish was no good not fresh. So her soultion was to have the basket in one hand and a fishing pole in the other. Walking out proudly she held up the rod like it was a victory banner, "Whose ready?!" Who could go wrong, games, fishing and food!Wolfs Heart Just thought of it. Everyone has heard of Bob the Builder, but the Pae will learn of Alma the builder!

"Maybe I can look at them some time and help you make up your mind?" Chal suggested with a shrug of his shoulders. "Sometimes it helps to have someone else take a look." He suggested another time because he didn't want to delay on going out with her anymore... but he also needed a reason to maybe come back some other time. "I'm sure pae will be lined up for miles to get one of your places... we haven't had much on the island like that." At least not in his own lifespan. "I think you will be able to have anything you want." Chal mentally cursed at himself, regretting the decision to call it a date when she paused. It had been too bold of a thing to say. The boy finally relaxed when she cracked a joke and continued on. "Oh don't expect I'll go easy on you either." Chal teased back. Having two brothers, Chal was not lacking any competitive bones. The young male waited around awkwardly, staring at anything he could find to stare at while he waited for Alma. It was when she was practically done that he had the brilliant idea that he should have offered to help. Too late at this point. When she came out, arms full, Chal jumped at this opportunity, "Can I help you carry something?" He said over-enthusiastically.

The idea was a great one, it would be a ton of fun to show him her drawings. What she could make come to life, both on paper and with stone was a source of great pride for her. He believed in her dreams! Calling from the kitchen area she agreed, "Yep, it will be beautiful!" Everypae would be happy and in somewhere that will keep them safe! Plans flitted through her head as she went happily to work.
With the basket in hand she concurred with his statement, "Good, I'd be sad if you went easy on me!" Win or lose, it was only fun if both went at it and really tried.
Without hesitation, his offer was happily taken up by the packed basket handed over without warning. "Absolutely, I can bring one of by drawing books to show you while we are there!" Excitedly she left him with her previous burden as she grabbed a hand bound drawing book filled to the brim with plans and ideas.

Chal stood in the entrance, picnic basket in hands, gaping at the girl as she rolled off from one thing to the next, and taking his plans to return with her. He was just going to have to find another reason to come back and see her. Chal did want to see her designs too, so it wasn't as if it was the worse thing to happen. The boy slowly closed his mouth until his expression became a relaxed smile that would be waiting for her when she came back. When Chal did see her returning he opened the door for her, "Anything else?" He sincerely hoped not, it was difficult to spend time with her when she was always running around.

Alma paused when he asked, looking at her home for a moment. "Nope, can't carry the stones to show you my work. That'll have to wait." There was a frown, it was exciting to show him what she could do and to get his take on it. There was no helping it.
Instead of dwelling on what they couldn't do, there was a trip ahead! Bouncing forward a step she half turned and offered Chel her hand free hand, "Come on, the beach awaits!" Beaming at him with hardly contained excitement, she was poised to get to moving but had no intents on leaving him behind.

Back on the right track, Chal's smile grew. "Alright, lets go." As he took Alma's outstretched hand he began to feel more confident too. He wasn't walking with such a bounce that she was, after-all he was carrying the basket and he had no idea how fragile its contents or the basket were. That didn't make her excitement any less contagious though as he matched her pace, and mirrored her radiant smile. She was beautiful, her smile just seemed to light up her whole being, and it made Chal feel like he was lighter than air. "You have the most amazing smile." Chal complemented her, it was hard to contain his thoughts sometimes, but he did tone it down some, not wanting to scare her away with the whole thing. He couldn't wait to spend some time with her at the beach.
