Name:
'Zen' (Zennaren)
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual
Craft/Rank: Candidate
History: Zen is the youngest of Z'fer's 6 siblings. By the time she was born parenting was old news to her parents. She was left to her own devices for the most part, their faith that between her brothers on land, and the dolphins in the ocean, their daughter couldn't come to any worse than any of the others had managed. They were far past the traditional ideas of prim and demure girls to be prepped for marriage. For Zen and her parents both this was probably for the best and life, for the most part was relatively uneventful.

Zen was 16 when the revolution struck. With the fate of their son and brother uncertain, Z'fer having sent no missives confirming his survival, the family laid low. Zen's parents and what brother's were of age generally said whatever was needed to assure their lives were spared and left well alone. They would still supply their main hold and thus Malvren with their labors and wouldn't spread rumor or sedition against Keller and his men. They had little options when it came to moving their family after all and they had no idea what side Z'fer may have taken, or if he even survived.

Curiosity ate at Zen though and she began to present herself at Searches in the hopes of being taken to Malvren to see what she could see of these 'Wherholds'. If he was there, then problem solved. If he wasn't well, there were worse fates for a young girl from a small seahold. She could always widen her search later, either a-dragonback or by some other means depending upon where fate put her feet. At least she had the sense to send the occasional letter home to her family.

Description: Tall for her gender, with small curves and clearly defined muscles, Zen possesses an athletic body. Her skin is a warm nutty brown and her thick black hair is kept short around her ears. She's careful with her personal hygiene while not being overly obsessive about it and her clothing choice while heavily on the practical side, is also chosen to accentuate her body. She'll kick your a**, but she wants to look good while doing it.

Zen does shy away from jewelry though. Earrings and necklaces offer dangerous handholds in a fight. Short, broad rings are an occasional indulgence, she loves semi-precious stones such as turquoise and jasper.

Personality: Confident, Strong work ethic, Outgoing,
Prideful, Melodramatic, Reckless

Zen idolized her older brothers when she was small. She could almost always be found following one of them, watching what they were doing and later emulating them around her own friends. Lucky for her, if not for the rest of their family, pride seemed to be a genetic trait and came naturally.

Nowadays, her hero-worship of her brothers has faded in favor of her own accomplishments and self-worth. Cocky and self assured, Zen's at that age where the world belongs to her and no one could possibly be better than she. She's firmly convinced that she's reached her peak and it will all be smooth sailing from here on. Still, Zen loves to prove herself just to remind others of how awesome she is. What's the use of boastful words if you have nothing to back them with? If she sets her sights on something she'll give every ounce of herself to achieve it. Zen is anything but a quitter. Her desires may change on a whim but once she's set her sights on a goal, she won't give up until she has it.

Competitiveness also seems to run in the family whether or not her mother admits it. She loves a challenge because it gives her an opportunity to prove how amazing she is. Anything from wrestling, to dice, to even the most thorough job completion will draw her interest if it's suggested that someone might be better. Survival instincts can often take a backseat in favor of competition.

Another side of this is that she hates to let people down. You can be assured, if she's asked to do something, she'll get it done. She has a sense of responsibility that differs from some of her more self-absorbed siblings. Zen's not afraid of hard work and underneath her carefree take on life, there is a responsible young woman beginning to develop.

She always aims to be the best and if that means cheating well, she just sees it as using all of her resources. Zen isn't going to roll over and cry because someone broke the rules. She's already done it first. If they want to whine, that's their own problem and just shows how immature and weak they are. Still, Zen isn't a stranger to overreacting and melodrama, blowing things out of proportion and holding long lasting grudges is kind of her thing.
