A&H Bakery was a quaint little place that was designed specifically to feel like home. Or, maybe it was the fact that Arias actually did live on the second floor above the shop that gave it a homey feel, though unless you knew where the stairway was, you were unlikely to know that someone had taken up residence upstairs at all. Arias took a great deal of effort to keep the two separate, but baking was his life.
…And it certainly saved on gas getting to and from work when the distance was a set of stairs out back.
He fumbled with the keys when they got there, unlocking the door and gesturing to allow Failyn inside.
"If you'd like to take a seat, there are a few tables. I'll get some tea brewing and get the first aid kit out of the kitchen." Even as he stepped into the bakery, he glanced around quickly to make sure that the blinds were closed; he didn't want any nosiness mucking things up or getting them in trouble. He had a good reputation around here and he didn't want to damage that.
"—If you're hungry, please. I've got some of just about everything on the menu, all fresh from today. Do you like cupcakes, cookies?" he asked; he flicked on the light held the door open for her only long enough for her to get in before he was rushing for the kitchen. Even as he walked, he called back, "Or bread? Or pie? I might have some fruit, though—if, you know, if you prefer?"

Fai didn't seem to mind the walk, and made sure to keep her shoulder angled away from the sight of any passerby's. She kept her head held high though, following Arias and taking a few moments to breathe through her pain. It was easy to mask under the assumption that she was trying to catch wind from walking, but mainly due to the pain. She never really had such pain before.
The closer to the bakery they got, the more intrigued and relaxed she became. She had expected him to take her to his home, and though it was very unladylike and presumptuous, would receive care in his personal quarters. She would've chuckled to herself at the idea that she was going to a boy's home for care, but instead really focused on how nice the bakery was. She hurried in, drawn to the simple homeliness of the bakery before turning over to him.
"Yes, Tea would be lovely, thank you so much. I hate to intrude on your wonderful work place, are you sure it's okay-" And then he rushing to the kitchen and she cocked her head. "I would love a chunk of bread and some fruit if you would. My stomach seems to be out of sorts and I don't want to push it with such sweet, my though, your cakes and pies and cookies look fantastic." She was eyeing the ones she could see in the cases, and instead of sitting, wandered around the area. She hated being a nervous jittery mess, but walking seemed to calm her down, and she was sure once she had a nice cup of tea, she could sit for the care she needed.
"How long have you been a baker Arias?" Failyn called out softly, "Is this your bakery? I assumed so, but I suppose I should ask as well."

Though Arias bustled about, he was never to far to miss any of Fai's comments. "Thank you," he said when he reappeared--with a freshly sliced half loaf of bread, a few fruits and a small block of cheese. He set it down on the table--along with a very well stuffed first aid kit. "The tea is brewing, it should be ready in a few minutes. But, in the meantime," he gestured to the food. "Please help yourself--I can get you water if you need. But--yes, this is my bakery. It's been my dream for a good few years. I started baking when I was young and it just sort of grew into this. We are still fairly new, but we're doing pretty well. I've got some really amazing assistants who are incredibly creative and skilled in the kitchen. If you have a taste for sweets, please drop by! It would be nice if we didn't make a trend of only bumping into each other when there's trouble, so you are always welcome here."
He watched her a bit and then found something to busy himself with so he wasn't just outright staring. "Would you like to get your injury fixed up now or would you rather wait for the tea?" He asked, leaning back against a display case as he scanned the room for any unfinished chore to busy himself with.

She smiled gratefully as the food was placed in front of her, and as delicately as she could manage without using her injured arm, took a small chunk of bread and chewing it. Delicious, this man really had a talent! Once it was gone, she smiled at him again. "Tea will do when it's done, you are being far to kind to me for me to trouble you anymore then this." She tilted her head just a bit, "I would love to visit, I love the quaint feel and the home likeness. Perhaps when I am studying for finals I will come here and treat myself?" She chuckled lightly, "But help me watch my figure okay? Sweets are tempting and have a price to pay."
She blinked as she took a piece of fruit, curious as to why he was staring pretty openly, at least he made it seem like he wasn't, and she didn't mind. She was staring at him anyways.
"Perhaps it is best to wrap it now?" She looked at the seeping blood through her shirt and winced. "I'll have to remove my shirt if you don't mind turning around." she wore a camisole underneath the longsleeve but it didn't stop her from being embarrassed about it, her face turning a bit red. if she could've rolled the shirt sleeve up, she would've but well...
Once he looked away, she hasitly unbuttoned it and then used it to cover everything else. The wound was ugly in the way it was like jagged cuts. The blood had slowed, and didn't gush out, but kind of oozed down her arm, now that it was free from cloth to catch it. She actually looked at it a little with wide eyes.
"I...had not prepared myself for it to look so bad..." She winced, looking at Arias. "I hope you don't mind...I uh...I might start quoting some guidelines while you wrap...for being a lady..." meaning she'd probably ramble.

Arias did not have time to tell her that she would be welcome no matter the circumstances; he turned around to give her whatever privacy she needed. He wasn't interested in taking advantage of her injury to steal a few private glances. He was a gentleman in that respect, but had little motivation for trying to see something indecent. "Please, do whatever you have to, that looks bad."
And if she needed to distract herself from it--from whatever pain was going to come while he cleaned and wrapped it...he fully supported her.
He moved to sit across from her and pulled from the first aid kit some antiseptics and bandages to clean the wound. He dabbed the bandages in the pungent liquid and drew in a breath. "If this stings, know it's just becaus that means it's killing the bacteria. If it hurts too much, let me know and I'll stop. I'll be as gentle as possible," he promised--and, true to his word, when he moved to clean the injury, he did so with such practiced caution that it was evident he was probably jus a gentle man through and through.

She was thankful for that, and did her best not to waste time with her prudeness.
She kept her arm rigidly straight, staring at one of his cases with it's cakes, and the minute the antispetic touched her skin, bubbling and stinging so bad it brought a tear to the corner of her eye, instead of hissing, she began her regement of guidelines.
"When a lady enters a room, she does so with diginified grace and beauty, slow steady steps, as to not trip on your dress, polite but distant smile, interested but not enough to linger with one. A lady must address the full room."
She breathed out as he kept dabbing, "When hosting, a Lady must remember to keep the glasses and the plates full. Be well versed in the going ons of social, political and stare of affairs, but to remember to be modest with your information." Mintaka breathed out. "The modest part is the most important you know. A lady is meant to show off her skills and her knowledge and beauty in very modest ways. Flamboyant and loud, unacceptable."
She looked over at Arias. "Thank you again for doing this."

At first, Arias had been a bit alarmed at her recitation though he quickly learned to focus on his task. Maybe some would have sworn or exclaimed great rage, but if she wanted to practice her rules of a lady...
Well, it was interesting at least.
He minded his own business until she addressed him, and then he quickly looked up. "Oh--no, it's okay, it's no trouble. You don't have to thank me. I was just worried about you. Your rules for a lady...those are interesting, where did you pick those up?" he asked, hoping some conversation might help to distract her from enough to make this a little less unpleasant for her. Besides, it wasn't often that you met a lady.

"Years of studying with private tutors." Fai answered easily enough, "I go to Crystal academy, for young ladies, but I also have sessions with many private tutors. This started when I was very young. Piano lessons, ballet, speech and grammar." She stiffened as she felt the pain heightened, but didn't react more then that.
"My parents were obsessed with making me a proper young lady. I have quirks you know, I love comic books and figurines and such. That's okay to have for a hobby as long as it doesn't interfere with my true course. That of a lady..." In reality her parents were waiting for her to grow out of it, as teenagers often did of things.
She winced again.
"Were you trained from a young age to be a baker?"

Arias blinked and then laughed, shaking his head as he finished wrapping her arm gently. "No, I wouldn't say I was trained from a young age. When I was younger I wanted to be a police officer, or work with social services. Mom...thought it was too dangerous, too depressing. So my interests blossomed elsewhere, I suppose. And who knows? Maybe when I'm older I'll go back to those interests, but...for now, just baking."
He didn't seem upset by this, though, and went on to say, "It makes me happy to know that I can do something to make others happy. I like trying new recipes, making things up. Keeps things interesting, I think."
He stopped taking for a second to reexamine her injury. "Feel all right? I tried to keep it loose..."

"Oh? That's such dangerous work for someone to do." But the world was never short in need of police officers, or well anyone who'd be willing to risk their life. "And I'm sad to say I might agree with your mom, but as long as you enjoy baking, then it was well worth getting into it." She made a small distressed sound...but the pain faded, and soon enough he had left her with a loose but comfortable bandaging.
"No this is fantastic! This is great, really Arias, this is more then I could ever ask for on the fly." She sighed and patted it gently, "Hopefully it'll only leave a tiny scar." She smiled.
"And yes, I like trying new things too, though I am not a cook. I like to try new paths, find new things. I'm always wanting to learn things. Curious."

"Hopefully it won't scar at all," Arias said, but he was forever the optimist. "Do you bake at all? If you've ever got some free time, you should drop by. I can teach you a few recipes if you'd like. Or you can just stock up on sweets." He flashed a smile, but he probably wasn't even joking; it was a sincere offer and Arias was always just grateful to have more friends around.
Inviting them to the bakery was just a nice way of making sure they stayed in touch—and making sure he could check in on them and see if they needed anything.
"I'm probably not the best cook in the world, but I know a few things. I teach a class on Thursday nights, but I mean—you could drop by just about whenever if you were interested?"
With her injury tended to, he moved to grab a snack for himself; he wasn't picky and nabbed a piece of bread from a pre-sliced loaf. Fighting youma was tedious; he was fortunate to have a place where food was pretty readily available.
…Except he was going to have to clean the rest of the food up before bed to make sure rats didn't try to move in.

"I can do both, yes! I actually do hold sessions on rooftops with teas and snacks most nights of my patrols. You'd think it odd, but a lot of powered lives do love to talk, and I love to learn and listen, so it ends up well." She blinked, "Oh in fact, Thursdays are one of my few free days! I would love to sign up for a couple of lessons if I can!" She laughed, "And perhaps I can get to know you better as well Arias, friends on the order side are very rare, friends in real life just as much."
She got up now, moving around to continue her exploration now that she had food, was bandaged up and content.
"Would you like help with anything? I don't know how I can ever repay you for this kindness but if there is anything I can do either now or later in time, I would love it!"

Arias flashed a smile and then answered, "Just take care of yourself, that's all I can really ask. I look forward to seeing you again! Do you want an escort home or are you good?"
He paused and then hastily asserted, "Not that I don't think you can take care of yourself, I just feel bad making you go out on your own after all of that. Or--well, here," he said, moving to the counter and pulling a business card from a stack. "Here, if you ever need anything, just give me a call, all right? Bagels or bandages, I'll do what I can."

Fai laughed at him, reaching out to pat his cheek.
"I can get home alright! I'll give you a call once I do then, so you know I made it safe..." Taking a moment, she leaned over and gave him a proper and chastise kiss on the cheek.
"It's been a pleasure Arias, really. I'll be back to learn some baking skills and stock up on sweets." She started to head to the door, "Please lock up and keep safe tonight! See you again soon." And with that, she was out of the shop and on her way home, tucking the card in her skirt pocket.
Belatedly, she realized she should've left her number too. Oh well, she'd give it to him over the phone when she got home!
