Pasha skidded to a halt outside the abandoned shack she and her little angel friend Chini claimed as their base of operation, nestled out back behind a long forgotten shop in Telrunya City. Clutched tightly in her hands was a bag she had stuffed today's pilfering inside to carry safely back to their base. Ducking down to squeeze through a child sized hole in the wooden door, she skipped merrily inside, humming to herself, brown and white striped pig tails bobbing.

She first hopped over to a row of several broken pots on the floor of varying shapes and sizes. Peering into one whose front was mostly gone, she spotted her pearl and her crystal shards, still where she had left them. Reaching into her pack, she pulled out a rich purple cloth with gold fancy embroidery on the edges that she had 'found' while out and about earlier. Grinning, she set her pack down, moving her pearl and crystal's around to set them gently on top of the cloth, as if their comfort was of high importance.

Once she was done with that, she reached back into her bag and pulled out one of three bread biscuits she took while the baker wasn't looking. "Fishy fishy food!" she grinned, waddling over to the far left corner where a larger unbroken pot sat, not terribly tall but wide, likely placed there to collect the drips from the hole in the ceiling when it rained, as it was full near to the brim with water. "Fiiish!" she cooed happily, yanking over a wobbly wooden stool, climbed atop and peered over the bowl at the two swimming companions Chini and herself had won at the carnival. Raising her little arms up, she crumbled up the biscuit into tiny pieces, tossing them into the water for the fish, watching for a few seconds as they bobbed about eating. The little pink demon looked over her shoulder a few times before scooting an extra piece or two over to her little golden yellow fish Kapri.

Once that was done, she went back to her pack, pulling out the other two biscuits and looking around. Where was Chini? She should have been back by now...if she ever even left. "Chini!" she called, looking around their shack, peering over at the pile of blankets beneath the small work bench, half shielded by a blanket they had managed to drape across for 'privacy'. "Chiiiiniiiiiii. Foood! she called again, a little more impatiently.

Had the angel fallen asleep beneath all the blankets agaaaiiinnn? Pasha wanted to show her the last thing she had found today!

Chini was panting heavily as she ran down the cobblestone road. The yelling that had been right behind her just moments ago was fading in the distance, but she didn't risk stopping to check if she was still being chased. Instead she continue to run blinded by tears and sweat towards 'home'. Her heart was pounding heavily in her chest, but all she could think of was being safe again- and her new treasure.

She made the turn to run down a type of alley way between buildings, but made it so fast she stumbled and slammed into the wall. She squeaked at the impact, but kept pushing herself forward. Once she was in her wooden home with Pasha then she would be safe. No one could touch them there.

Chini managed to wiggle her way through the small hole to their hideout, looking wild eyed and dirty. Her hair was sticking up in all sorts of directions with dirt clumps falling to the ground as she moved her way into the room. Smears of dirt and tears where covering her cheeks, but as soon as she saw her friend a huge smile bloomed on her face, “I here, I here!” she said breathless, but with a huge smile on her face.

She dropped her small pack on the ground, flopping to her butt. She brushed her arm across her forehead, removing some of the dirt with a huge sigh. She reached over to her pack tossing back the slap to pull out a jar. “Watta holder!” she exclaimed, wiggling it to slosh the water around. They had plenty of pots to hold falling water, but not anything to hold water AND carry with them while they were out. She felt rather pleased with her find and whipped out another one for her friend to take.

“Find treasure?” she asked, looking eager. Her tummy was rumbling, but today had been such a good day she just wasn’t ready yet. She rummaged through her pack again pulling out a heart shape with tassels dangling from it, “Chini found a clip!” she held it up for Pasha to see before slipping it into her hair. She stood up on wobbling feet before strutting around as if to show it off.

When she was done she went back to her pack and pulled out an equally as dirty plush. She held it up pride radiating from her eyes, “Mah feesh toy!” she slammed it against her chest hugging the crap out of it. “Ok your turn.” she said, still clinging and petting her fish plushie.

Whirring around as Chini burst through the hole in the door, Pasha let out an excited squeal, but also tapped her foot as if to say it was about time! "Here, numnums, eat!" she said, setting both the biscuits down so she could take the spare jar Chini had offered her.

Now they had something to hold water in to drink instead of from a dirty jar! "Ooooer!" she beamed, smashing the jar to her chest and holding it with one arm in order to work off the lid so she could take a messy sip from the jar, dribbling water down her front. She placed the lid back on before picking up her biscuit and nibbling at it gently.

She eyed Chini's hair clip, giggling and clapping as her friend modeled it. It almost blended into her hair, but Pasha wasn't about to tell her that and ruin Chini's parade. But to her friend's question, she nodded and pointed over at the jar she kept her things in. "Found pretty cloth!" she grinned, shoving the last bit of her bread into her mouth, watching as Chini pulled out one last thing.

And then her eyes went wide!

"Fish! Fish!! Fiiish!" Pasha shouted, wiggling her arms and legs frantically, grabbing her pack and tugging it over. She reached inside, clasped her hands around a soft plush arm and pulled out a fish plush of her own. She presented it proudly in front of Chini, wiggling it so that it's tail flopped in the air and its head bobbed as if to some sort of silent beat. "Me fish too!" she exclaimed proudly, shoving her purply maroon plushie closer to Chini's, making it bob its head and flipped its arms as if it were waving at the other plush ecstatically.

How crazy they had both found plushies that day, and both fishies!

Chini gratefully took the biscuit from Pasha and shoved it in her face. She tried to recall what she had eaten that day- a few grapes, bread... not as much as she usually found, but that could have also been because she had spent most of the day attempting to ‘retrieve’ her new prized possession. She was so lucky that Pasha had found something, especially with how nicely it was settling in her stomach and making the rumblies disappear.

She watched Pasha closely as she opened her jar, doing her best to mimic the other child. She managed to open hers as well, but spilt a good bit of it on the floor. She didn’t seem to care as she gulped it down, realizing just how thirsty her run had made her.

“Ohhhh a cloth?” she asked. She guessed it was probably stashed with all her extra special items. Pasha had quite a few things, but Chini knew they were suuuuuper special. She made sure never to touch those, she didn’t want to make her friend upset.

She loved the reaction she received, beaming brightly and giving her new toy a loving squeeze. Pasha liked her fish toy! What a great feeling that was to have someone proud of you. Her thoughts halted as Pasha worked something out of her pack. Chini tilted her head in an attempt to see better, her eyes going wide when she realized what it was, “Pasha fish too!?” Her mouth hung open for a moment unsure what to think. What great luck! Now they could play fishie together!

Chini held her fish out, shaking it along with Pashas while making excited babbling noises to herself pretending that her fish was talking to Pasha’s. She finally shoved it at Pasha’s making loud smooching noises before giggling madly. That was something she had learned today! Now she got to share it with Pasha! Whatever those noises meant...

She was starting to get really excited about their new toys, “SWIM SWIM!” she shouted, running towards the fish’s pot. She drug herself up the makshift stool in order to shove her fish plush into the water. She made some glug glug noises before pulling it back out. Its head hung heavy and the water poured off of its body and onto the stool. Chini frowned heavily, “Nooooo! No peeing on me!!!” she exclaimed, bouncing from one foot to the next in an attempt to keep out of the water.

Pasha laughed, trying to mimic the sounds Chini was making as she pressed her plush towards the other's. Her kissing sounds though, ended up sounding more like some sort of strangled cat meowing than actual smooch noises and Pasha decided quickly she didn't like that. Instead, she moved to flip her plushie's arm as if her's had just denied Chini's.

Laughing, Pasha went off to do her own thing as Chini went do do...whatever it was, for the little pink demon child just had an idea. Gently rolling her pearl away and scooting the crystal shards over, she took her piece of cloth and wrapped it over her plushie's head, as if it were wearing a cloak, though she couldn't get it to stay on. Thinking hard, tongue sticking out to one side, Pasha waddled over to a corner and rummaged through some trash, finding a bit of string just long enough to tie around the plushie's neck so the cloth stayed on. "Magic Fish!" she laughed, holding up her plushie and wiggling it with sound effects as if the "cape" was billowing in the wind.

She angled her plush like an airplane, going to take off and have it collide with Chini's when Pasha suddenly realized just what Chini had done. In a brief moment of panic, Pasha squealed loudly and threw her hands up as if to block any stray droplets of water from going anywhere near her pearl. "NO WATTA, BAD!!!" she shouted, stomping her foot before rushing over to Chini, shoving her now cloaked plush in the other girl's face, bobbed it around and changed the pitch of her voice to a bunch of random squabbled words and babbles as if her plushie were now scolding the other one for peeing all over the floor.

Chini shook her head at her friend. No, no, she was making the noise wrong! Oh well she was sure one day she'd get it right. Though Chini wasn't expecting Pasha's plushie to suddenly reject hers. For a second she made a grumpy face about to complain about how unfair that was when she got the bright idea- water.

She was having a grand 'ol time dunking her plushie into their 'pond'. The fish weren't to keen on it, darting this way and that at the bottom of the pot, but for the most part Chini was having a good time. That was till she pulled it out and it started spilling water everywhere. She was about to start shaking the thing out when Pasha was yelling at her for not apparent reason. Chini frowned deeply at her. No, water wasn't bad! They needed it! She gave off an angry squeal when the other's plushie was shoved in her face. “Pasha, stop!” she yelled trying to shove it off of her. She then attempted to rub her soggy toy in Pasha's face to get back at her, “Stooooooop! I didn't do noth'n!”

She kept shoving the plush, climbing off the stool with her own, “It's peeing not me!” she held it up and shook it to show her, managing to get droplets of water smacking both of them.

Snorting and stamping her foot, Pasha threw her other hand up in defense to get the soggy plush out of her face, also attempting not to get water on her own plush as well. "STOP. Chini doesn't udderstand!" she shrieked, jumping backwards a bit and wiping water off her face, as well as quickly off her plush. "Lady said wet make pearl change! No want change!" she stomped her foot again, looking like she might cry at the thought of her pearl turning into a baby. She had no use for a baby! But a rather large pearl, yes. She had many uses. Sitting perfectly gorgeous on a shelf was one, showing off her special treasure was another..... Baby, not so much.

And also slightly the fact her friend seemed to be mad. But she kept flinging water and it was scaring the little pink demon! Clenching her fists, one tight around the back of her plushie, she peered at Chini. "Please no pee." she said and pointed at the soggy plush. "His head slumpy now." she noted, this small fact slightly amusing her as she did her best to stop a gigglesnort at the fact that the plush seemed so weighted down by water that it looked thoroughly depressed at itself. She glanced back down at her own and flipped its makeshift cloak back on to its head properly, so that it's eyes barley peered out from beneath the purple and gold rimmed fabric.

Chini halted when Pasha shrieked at her. The sound made a sharp pain in her chest making her feel a little sick. She didn't like feeling this way- didn't like it when Pasha was upset with her. When Pasha explained what she meant, Chini's eyes watered up. She felt completely terrible now for pushing Pasha around. “Chini sorry! Chini didn't know!” she gave off a small sob with her words, immediately pulling her plush away from Pasha. “No baby!” she chimed in with Pasha, hugging the plush close trying to catch all of the water with her body.

She looked down at her plush, alarm filling her at the sight of its head lolling to one side, “Stop!” she squeaked at it. She pulled it away from her body examined it. Well, there was only one way to get water out of something! She placed her hands on either side of the plush and pressed hard at it. Smashing the head between her hands caused water to come pouring out on the floor. Chini did not realized this would happen and gave off a small yelp of fright, “No! Stop it! Pasha save pearl! Watta!” she pointed frantically at her pearl trying to signal the girl to pick it up before the water on the ground made its way over to it.

Pasha squeaked, waving her hands at Chini. "No is k! Just pee there!" she said, pointing to a corner of the room that was far away from her pearl. If Chini's plushie peed there, or even back into the pot, it would be all fine! Fish peed where they swam anyways....didn't they? Pasha had to actually stop to think about this.

When she snapped back to attention at Chini's "Stop!" she gazed in horror at what the little angel was doing. She also laughed. "Head go squishy, Chini squish fish!" she laughed more. At least until the water started pouring out of the plush at an alarming rate and all onto their feet and the floor. Dancing from foot to foot, she slightly freaked out, and danced her way backwards, shifting her plushie under her arm and scooping up her pearl, cradling it like a child in her head. "Chiiiinnnniiiiii! Find fish a bathroom!" she squeaked with a over dramatic sad face.

Chini screamed and began to make a run for the corner that Pasha had pointed out. She didn't want to make Pasha upset or ruin her treasure. She couldn't imagine ruining treasure- it was treasure! So she made it to the corner and set her plushie down. “Stay! Bad! No peeing!” she chided the doll, waving her finger down at it. She then turned back around and marched proudly back to Pasha, “Ees ok now!”

She picked up some blankets and pillows around her in order to soak up some of the water around Pasha and her pearl to make it up to her. As soon as that had been accomplished to the best of a child's ability, she tossed the wet items off to the side haphazardly. She then threw herself onto the still dry pile of blankets and pillows that were left, “Any more treasure?” she asked Pasha. “What do now?”

She tilted her head back trying to plan out in her head what they possibly could have missed. Pasha had managed to bring some food with her, but they'd certainly need more before sun down- the tummy rumblings came frequently and wasn't pleasant when you left it alone for too long. "Food? No want sundown tummy rumbles."

When Chini ordered the plushie to "not pee," if Chini looked carefully, it almost seemed like the little fish plushie had flinched away.

Chini and Pasha may have then being ignoring the little plushie and haphazardly throwing things around, but the plushie was still there, quiet, doing nothing, as plushies do -- or was it?

If they cared to look back at the corner where they had left the plushie, it was no longer there.

Instead, it was sitting on the pile of pillows, a concerned little fairy fluttering around its head.

Pasha had danced around following Chini as she picked up blankets and pillows to mop of the water, pointing out all the spots the angel may have missed with her head. When she was satisfied it was all good, she waddled over and returned her pearl to its safe place with her crystal slivers. "Yay Chini, good!" she squeaked, flopping over onto the dry blankets with Chini, looking around the room.

"Uuum...Nuno." she shrugged, now taking her plush from under her arm and squishing it to her chest as she let herself get comfy. What to do now, what to do now? She was about to open her mouth when her own tummy rumbled, that little bread biscuit not enough. Sighing, she glanced over at Chini. "Guess get food?" she tilted her head, sitting up.

"Get plush, they come to!" she smiled, hopping up and glancing over to where Chini's plush was...or it should have been. Did Chini move it? "Where yer feesh?" she squeaked, spinning in a circle until she spotted Chini's plush now sitting on a pile of pillows with something floating around it's head.

"BUUUUGGGGGGIE GET!" she roared in a blood curling scream and picked up a pillow to launch at the fairy.

Chini's eye lids began to slide over her eyes. The pillows and blankets had a way of making the sleepies come over you, and she should have known better than to plop herself down into them. She had had an eventful day, and the thought of a short sleepy was sounding mighty fine at that point- despite the rumblies in her tummy.

She was glad Pasha agreed that they needed to get more food, and the thought of getting their plushies sounded like a blast! Sure, it would be less fingers to carry things in, but maybe one day their plushies could do it for them! Yeah! They'd train them to get food so she and Pasha could spend more time sleeping! She'd have to tell Pasha her great plan-

Pasha's cry jolted her upright, her eyes wild, “Buggieeee!?” she squeaked in fright. How dare a buggie try to get her plushie!? She lept to her feet ready to meet it in a wrestling match when her eyes landed on it. Was it really a buggie? She watched Pasha's pillow soar towards it and allowed the distraction in order to get closer. It looked more like a shiny then a buggie!

She crept around the pile of pillows and blankets, excitement filling her at the thought of a new shiny to add to her hoard! And this one could fly! Oh what fortune! She dived into the pillow and blankets when she was close enough in order to get the jump on it. She practically swam through them, climbing around till she thought she was right under it. She peered through the pile, eyes landing on her target. She bunched up her muscles before launching out of her hiding space towards the shiny, “SHINYYYYY!” she cried, hands outstretched towards it, tiny wings flapping madly. It would be all hers!

The concerned fairy suddenly found themselves facing a pillow flying to their face. Alarmed, they just as suddenly hid behind the fishy plushie, making a small squeak as she watched the sheer childish rage flying out of the demon child.

There was another voice that soon echoed as well, and the fairy dared to peek their head out to see what was going on.

"Eep!"

A shiny?! Oh no, this wasn't how this was supposed to go at all! No no no--

The fairy scrambled, flying in circles around the plushie's head. As the fairy seemed to blur, so did the plushie, a glow starting to emit from the plushie before it was hidden from view altogether.

When the light faded after a few extraordinarily long seconds...

... the fairy was now circling a small fishy child.

Disappointment flooded the pink demon child when her pillow missed her target. Pasha watched instead, her fists bunched up tightly, her feet stamping as she cheered on her friend. "Gogo get Buggie!" she chanted, thinking her friend was going to squash the pesky little thing, not capture it for her stash. The little demon child raised her arms and plush in the air, waving them around as if that would distract the bug's attention long enough for Chini to sneak up and grab it.

Suddenly however, the buggie seemed to zoom so fast around the plush's head that it blurred. And so did the plush! "NO FEESH!" she cried out, terrified the bug was trying to steal her friends treasure as it engulfed it in light...

And then it happened....

When the light faded, a fish plush no longer sat there, but instead a wiggling squirming fish baby. She looked at the baby, then down at her plushie, then over towards the pot where the fish lived. Floored, stunned, completely loss for words, Pasha did the only thing she could think of doing at the time. She clutched her plush tight, backed away, and screamed.

"TOLD YOU WATAH BAD!!!! WATAH MAKE BEEBS!"
