Personality:
She is the pessimistic sort that sees nothing good in anything and refuses to believe everything deserves a chance. She's stubborn to the point of never giving up on her perceptions. She's driven by her need to understand herself and those around, and in order to do so she must also advance her own magic.
Ella has an easy time letting most people in, at least at first and only so far. She's insecure of her surroundings, and isn't sure how to react to most situations as she isn't the pampered child sitting on her mothers lap anymore.
She can be an emotional girl prone to over thinking, which often leads to her missing some of the more obvious solutions to problems and over complicating most situations and discussions. She tends to hide her vulnerabilities in violence, often leading her to become ostracized and hated by the very people she wants to be friends with.
She takes her studies very seriously but still relies on the words of authority figures. Her studies are what allow her to understand her skills, this often leads her into the field of battle for 'research'. Though they may be dangerous, fieldwork would be the time where she feels most at home and safe in her own skin.
Though she won't admit it, total independence scares her as she feels it is equated with "being alone" rather than self-reliant and this leads her to cling on to those closest to her. Often asking them to take her places, or go with her to various areas as she does her work.
History:
A simple and generally easy going baby, Ella was born to Ritsa Jones and Peter Blake. Two very hard workers. Peter worked for a building company creating floor and building plans. Ritsa stayed at home for the first five years of Ella's life to raise her until she could go to school. She later picked up a job at a local coffee shop to help support the family.
As a toddler Ella loved everything, and everyone. She loved the attention she so quickly received from all the adults. There was no competition in that area and she was dotted upon endlessly. While it pleased Ella to no end it did cause some tension with her parents. They didn't like the idea of everything being so easy for Ella to come by, and soon wanted her to start being able to learn things on her own. They wanted to be able to teach her some life skills at a young age. Ella however was resistant to the idea.
During one of her attempts at cooking when she was 8 years old, Ella had spilled some oil from the burgers on her hand. Shocked, and in pain, Ella's skill first made it's appearance. Frost had covered the burn only to shock her some more but ease the burning sensation on the burn. When she had tried to explain what had happened to her mother, Ella was dismissed as yet another attempt to escape learning how to cook.
Situations like this continued to happen whenever Ella had been startled. Frost appeared on people's ears, when she was hit with a water balloon, just to name a few. Eventually when people started to complain to Ritsa, Ella's mother started looking into the situation, attempting to find some help for her daughter.
In the end they had discovered murmuring pines. A camp that offered to help children just like Ella. Though no one had ever heard of a psychonaut before. Eagerly Ritsa enrolled her daughter, hoping that the camp would bring out her daughters better self and teach her to be a little more self reliant. And "Solved" her daughters strange tricks.
