Huwayda had been travelling a great distance. She wasn't really sure how far she had gone, but she knew the scenery had changed a great deal, she had gone from the desert with sparse trees to what was the vast body of water Huwayda had ever seen. She couldn't see any end to it, it went on and on forever. It scared her and mesmerized her all at the same time.
One things was the same though, there was sand here too. The tan lioness laid in the sand digging her feet into it. It was different sand here, the sand she was use to was dry, coarse and fine. This sand was damp and it felt good to squish her toes into it. She lay her head on her buried paws and stared out at the vast water.

As the weather showed a warm streak Kaiaka had decided that he would spend the day lazing about rather than mulling about for work. Everything had been peaceful lately with the Bahari and besides the stir from the K'Z with their ball the lion had found it easier to have more free time to himself. Because of that he had headed out early and from the highest rocks he could find the lion dove into the ocean's waters.
Strangers may find the ocean daunting but for Kaiaka it was home. Everything about the depths welcomed him and the lion always found himself interested in every crest of the waves. Did the ocean spirits cause each one to be different? Every possible tale wandered into his mind as he floated there. Tired of swimming the lion just laid in the ocean waves and let each carry his loose body back and forth towards the shoreline.

As Huwa gazed out at the vast blue water, found her self day dreaming. Thinking about her old home and family as well as what her future might hold for her. It was during this dream state that something caught Huwa's attention, it was a little hard to see at first but it appeared to be a lion's body in the water floating.
She jumped to her feat all worried, the male's coloring matched the water which was why she didn't see him sooner but now she was sure it was a lion.. and it appeared to be dead. She ran to the water's edge she wasn't sure what to do. She didn't really know how to swim only ever have been in the desert around small bodies of water. "HEY HEY!" she shouted "ARE YOU OKAY!" of course of this lion was already dead he wouldn't be able to hear here. She frantically looked around the beach to see if there was anyone that could help him.

Yawning Kaiaka found himself falling asleep in the waters. Floating just came so easily to the large lion that he paid no attention to the movement of his body as it bobbed up and down with each wave. However, the faint sound of someone yelling made him blink. Was something going on? Holding back another yawn the lion slowly turned into the wave and disappeared into the water.
It was much easier to swim underwater after all.
A few moments later Kaiaka emerged and dragged his body onto the sand. I misjudged... The lion frowned as he realized he had came out from the ocean to the far right of the lioness rather than before her. Either way he was curious about what she was shouting and so the lion slowly made his way down the beach towards her.

Huwa saw the lion disappear under the water and her stomach started doing flips, all out panic taking over. She wasn't use to seeing others swim so she wasn't aware that the lion had gone under by choice. She considered running out into the water but she knew that she wouldn't have the strength to swim out as far as he had been.
Huwa was trying to plan her next move when the male popped up on the beach far off to her right. She didn't see him at first, in fact she didn't see him until she turned her head looking for help. When she saw him she ran towards him.
"Are you okay?" she gasped. She eyed the male up and down, his coat matched the color of what she'd seen out in the water. He didn't look injured at all. She was panting hard waiting for his answer adrenaline still coursing through her body.

Kaiaka new a stranger to the Bahari when he saw one. Once he started getting closer he realized that she was still staring intently out into the ocean. Was she worried about something? Living here all his life had made the lion used to watching others in the waves, but sometimes he never thought about how new comers would view the ocean. Was it really that scary? He never realized that sometimes it might be the fact that rather than really swimming his floating like a dead lion could scare observers some days.
At her question the male blinked. She had been worried...about him? Kaiaka tilted his head slightly to the side in faint amusement, "I think so...do I look unwell?" He shifted on his paws as if checking his own body. He studied her quietly for a second, "But are you alright?" The lion asked as he noticed her rushed state.
"Did you see a spirit or something perhaps to scare you?"

Huwa blinked a few times pulling her attention back to the male instead of the vast waters. "You looked as if you were dead." she told him when he asked her if he looked unwell. She slowly looked back at the waters the image of the male floating still fresh in her mind.
"Me I am, I am" she struggled to find words, she wasn't unwell, though her heart was still racing.
"Well I thought I saw you dead in the water, and I have never seen water's this big before." she may be rumbling a little but she didn't even realize it. Nor did she realize that she had hadn't even introduce herself to the male, her fathers had taught her better then that.
"Isn't the water dangerous?" she asked him. Her heart was slowly starting to return to normal but this body of water still confused the daylights out of the desert lion.

He looked as if he was dead? Kaiaka frowned and lifted both his front paws as if inspecting them before turning in a small circle. His body felt fine, so how did he present such an image? Still the lion offered a small nod towards the female, "I'm sorry then if that worried you. I'm completely alive and well, I promise."
Kaiaka laughed at her explanation, "Sorry. I never thought about that before...but this water is an ocean. It's beautiful really." He grinned towards her, "Not that I've seen much other than it. After all the idea of no ocean is weird to me." What sort of place would not have a glorious view like the crashing waves in the sunlight? He would not like to venture there. The ocean was his home and without it the lion would feel lost.
"You really must be new here then." Kaiaka smiled, "The water can be, yet at the same time can give life as well." The large lion shrugged, "I don't feel afraid of it at all, but others fear the storms and the larger waves." A shadow of sorrow crossed his features. He still remembered the destruction the tsunami had brought, but had instead chosen to embrace the ocean rather than continue fearing it for the storm's wrath. He looked back out across towards the waves thoughtfully, "Is it really that fearsome looking?"

Huwa stared out at the water the whole time he male spoke. "I'm not sure fearful is the right word. It is beautiful and intriguing, but I came from the desert, there isn't a lot of water there." she said.
She moved forward to put her toes into the water. She enjoyed the feeling of the cool water washing over her feet and she smiled. "It is just so big it looks like it could just wash you away forever."
"I am very new to the area do you think you could show me around a little?" she asked. The area had caught her interest and she was on the market for a new home.

Beautiful and intriguing? Was she in awe of it then? Kaiaka gazed over at the lioness with a faint smile on his maw. Perhaps then the ocean wasn't such a bad place for this stranger. She could possibly learn to love it...not that he minded if she moved on or stayed. But still it was nice to see someone who wasn't so afraid. The lion did let out a startled noise though at her comment, "The desert?" Kaiaka peered closely towards the lioness, "I've heard of it, but I don't know much about that sort of place. It sounds...so sad to me." Really strange for his taste. He loved the sands yes, but not the fire ones he heard about that made up the desert full of dust rather than waves of water."
Kaiaka laughed at her statement, "It really could though." The lion followed her to dip his own paws into the water, "I wonder how far someone could go before the waves crashed into another land?"
Her question caught the male by surprise and he blinked thoughtfully, "Show you around? I suppose I could..." Kaiaka frowned slightly, "I guess then we'll head up the beach so I can truly show you what the Bahari holds." Moving forward he splashed lightly in the waters before pausing to look back, "Come on then, I'll be your guide this once."
