The past months had been a blur, a dark, screaming blur, full of ghosts, past and otherwise. He had gone a bit mad in that time, off the deep end, one would say. He had hurt his love, had hurt her badly and taken a child, their child, to remember her, to cling to salvation. He had raised Tannin as best he could, trained him well, just as he had been trained by his father, but he could only do so much as his mind unraveled and his subconscious convinced him every day that he didn't deserve the happiness, the love of this child, he deserved to be exactly how he looked, a monster, and a monster could only be with another monster, one who was as dark and alone as he was now. He had sent Tannin on his way to become a true knight, he hoped that he was doing well, he would always wish his children well…And then he had been lost. He had been lost these long, lonely months until he had found someone, he had found her- This mare was not his love, but she was alike in his darkness, she had never spoken much, and was just as haunted, quite literally sometimes.

He had stayed a while with this mare, this Yurei, this ghost. Time flew by, he had no idea how long, did his children have children of their own by now? Perhaps he would never know, perhaps he was supposed to be lost, like this, with Yurei - no parents, children lost, this was ok he supposed…There was at least Yurei… But dally long enough with one so alike, things were bound to happen, and happen they did, she found she was with foal - the shock to his system was immense. His mind reeled, memories coming flooding back to him in a painful wave of feelings - he would be a father again…one could not be a parent like this…he had to do something! Like his love, Yurei was calm, though a different kind of calm, and perhaps since she was a dark creature like himself, she would not be hurt bearing his children… He would not flee this time, he would stay…see all of his children break their wickery confines, he would definitely see their little faces, memorize every detail of them like he had never known his other two.

His new children, safe in their baskets to rest until they had the strength to come out~ He looked over each of them, they were so bright…so like himself, he remembered a basket like these, a black one that glowed with his unearthly fire….his first children, ones he still faintly hoped he'd find them someday, make amends, though he was certain they would never forgive him. For now, he would be here, to see his children, he would watch these ones grow, and perhaps he would find his son again, his honorable son, and have him meet his half siblings…family. His heart ached suddenly and he cringed- family -

He wanted to find a place to belong again, but for now - he would cling to this clarity, though he was still the dark - he would cling desperately for the sake of these children.
