I tried to tell the Landlord it's illegal to put restrictions on our guest.

He told me he's not putting restrictions on our guest, just the sleepovers.

by sleepovers he means people sleeping in our bedrooms or boyfriends.

His newest reasoning is for our own safety. Our boyfriends are gonna molest one of us and we're going to sue him. Apparently I'm too stupid to understand how this is a problem. Or if you can even sue your landlord because he allows you to bring your long term monogamous boyfriend over.

Boyfriends can stay over if they are sleeping on the couch bed. Which I have decided is more dangerous for our safety. Cause if our long term monogamous boyfriend is sleeping in our bed and they get up to go molest a roommate we'll know. If he sleeps on the living room couch, who knows what he's getting up to.

It's really not that hard to wear clothes in the common area, and not sleep with your girlfriends roommates.

He's threatening eviction if "it happens again" Though now I don't know what the rule is, or the difference between a guest and a boyfriend.

Though my next step is to get him to write all this up.

It's only worth it if I get an eviction notice, And even then debatable. I tried to bring up the law with the landlord though and he just went on to tell us all these stories about how the law doesn't protect them.

so why get the house? it would probably hurt his 'landlording' if not his pride if you got another house.

I'm already living here, and stuff seemed reasonable, but now he's just batshit nuts.

i'm in the process of finding a job, it's very hard to find places this affordable without a lease. The second I have a stable income I'm getting out of here.

He just thinks he can forbid pre marital sex, by saying our boyfriends can't sleep over. He's old school Catholic and worried about what the neighbors think.

Pretty much, they are apparently different then overnight guest.

We can befriend a serial rapist and let him sleep on the living room couch, but our boyfriends can't sleep in our rooms cause they're likely to molest the roommates and the landlord will get sued.

And I think he is overreacting and should know you would lose in that lawsuit for several reasons... so does it matter?

I'd just get after the molestor... not the landlord... like if i had someone get molested in my family, the landlord is the last person I would think about.
"oh gee it's the landlords fault!"

Lots of people sue the landlords because they get raped. But the reason they sue is because the landlord did not take the necessary procedures to make sure the bedrooms have locks, the windows have alarms or are impossible to break in to. Not because the tenants irresponsibly bring in a rapist to the suite. That and our boyfriends probably have the decency not to molest the roommates. Besides if they sleep on the living room we are less likely to know that they are molesting the roommates then if they sleep in our rooms.
