Riley hummed lightly to himself as he moved about his new dorm, constantly trailing back to his bed to pull items from his bag. Although this was his first time leaving home, he'd only taken the very necessaries; despite his siblings' protests. This resulted in a rather bare bedroom, save for the books he'd taken. That had been his only 'luxury item' he'd felt he truly needed, and as such had taken every single one of them. All thirty-two. Thankfully, dorm-mates had their own rooms, so his many books wouldn't bother his living companion; whoever that may be. He'd yet to meet anyone at this school, and he was content with this.
Finally done, the young male wandered around the room, passing through the neat piles of books. Not everything had been able to fit on the dresser, so instead Riley had opted to just putting them in organized stacks. They ordered alphabetically and in series. Running his fingers over the hard cover of one his books, the first in the Eragon series. The pages were slightly worn, revealing just how many times he'd flipped through these pages. But it couldn't be helped. A good book was a good book. Grabbing it, he plopped down onto his bed and opened it slowly; prepared to delve into the world of medieval times and dragons.

A young boy with short green hair and aqua blue eyes wearing a strange big frog hat that made him look a bit taller. He was holding his suitcase in his hand while the other he was carrying alive toad. He began to whistle a tone to himself while he searched for the dorm he was assigned in. His parents particularly forced him to go to a bordering school because they couldn't stand the stench of death roaming around the house anymore, and has to take it on, on his poor roommate. He stopped on his tracks and sighed in relief as he made to the dorm he was looking. He entered the room.
Aiko took a look around, it wasn't so bad well no television but his not complaining. He left his suitcase on one of the and rested the toad on the table. He decided not to unpack his stuff completely yet. He opened the suitcase then searched through the small pockets. Once he brought out one of his sharp scalpels the toad retreated. Aiko slowly turned his head and his eyebrow twitched while seeing the fleeing amphibian. Why do they always run!? he growled to himself and chased after it. Though he was running around in the kitchen until he lost track of it. He guessed that it was inside one of the bedrooms. He entered one of the rooms and found someone with pink hair and aquamarine eyes inside the room. He placed his hands behind his back, hiding the scalpel he is holding. I'm sorry for disturbing but have you seen an amphibian roaming around here? he asked almost bluntly and has a hint of stress.

Furrowed brows crossed over the nose as Riley heard the door open. He was no longer alone in the dorm. A light sigh escaped his mouth as he flipped the page, well as long as they were quiet, it didn't matter much. Settling back into his incoherent state, his eyes once more returned to the words on the paper. Even with his great memory, reading still surpassed dragging the details from his mind. He'd just managed to make it to the third chapter when a noise brought him from out of his book. With a sigh he looked up at his open door, perhaps if he closed it? The boy had just sat up on the bed, one foot on the ground, when his roommate entered. He was a strange boy, with blue hair and the oddest of headgear. Had he been stuck with a weirdo?
"Amphibian?" he raised an eyebrow at the word and looked around the room slowly. "No, I don't think--" Riley paused when his eyes landed on a toad, hopping behind one of his book piles. "Oh, I guess there is one." he pushed himself off the bed, carefully maneuvering through his maze of books to where the animal hid. "Mm. Here ya go." he grabbed it, running a hand over its back. He wasn't much of an animal person, but he didn't despise them. "Is this your pet?" he asked curiously as he made his way towards the boy, and thrust his hand forward, presenting the amphibian to him. "I won't object to you having one, but please keep a better eye on it."

Aiko raised both his eyebrows at the sound of his roommate's voice, is he/she a boy or a girl. He doesn't usually judge people by their appearance but now maybe he is considering it. He sighed in relief that his roommate found the toad. He carefully took the toad off his/her hand after he placed the scalpel inside his back pocket, he shook his head declining that the toad was his pet. Oh no, it isn't my pet but I do have one and don't worry I'll very carefully with him. he said with a nod.
Aiko soon began to hear voices of his alters inside his head. A male laidback voice speak inside his head, She's a girl, problem solved. then a male but timid voice spoke, N-n-no he's a boy.How would you know?Umm well he should be because well umm they share the same dorm a-and its usually shared by the same gender.But he looks and sounds like one.He's a boy.He's a she.BoyGirlBoyGirl!Don't shout at me!. The two voices argued about their roommate's gender inside his head and Aiko began to develop a headache then placed a hand on his forehead. My name is Aiko, what's yours? he asked then the voices fell silent.

"Oh." he nodded once, the confusion clear on his voice. "If that isn't your pet then..." Riley shook his head. "Never mind. It's not my business." he had learned along time ago that privacy was essential, and having some stranger poke holes and try to peer into your life was annoying. Instead he lifted his gaze up to the... more unique thing about the boy. It was a dark blue, almost purple, frog; and quite large. Was that just part of his fashion? He wrinkled his nose lightly. To each his own.
Unaware of the boy's conflicting voices, Riley extended his hand. "Riley Monroe. It's nice to meet you, Aiko." at the very least, his roommate was polite. Which was a trait he approved of. Everything else he'd learn to tolerate in time. He looked at Aiko, pushing up on his tiptoes instinctively. He certainly was short, nearly every male he met was taller than him; and quite a few girls too. He'd grown used to it, over the years, but every now and then he couldn't help but wish he was just a few inches taller. "That's... a nice hat." he said after a while. Polite conversation was one of the few things he excelled at, and that certain subject had piqued an interest within him. "Do you always wear it?"

Aiko was looking at Riley's hairstyle how it is tied up into two pigtails. He didn't want to be rude and ask about his gender plus how was he going to say, 'Hey are you a boy or a girl' to him that might be embarrassing for someone to be asked that question. He raise both of his eyebrows when he heard his roommate's name, Riley...oh boy. He wasn't making this any easier for him. Aiko smiled and shook Riley's hand, It's nice to meet you too. he greeted.
Ha, its a girl!But, but, but-- The laidback voice sounded like he was in triumph when he said But but but what? Can't admit that I was right?Y-yes it's just that Riley is a unisex name, so he could be a boyAnd she could be a girl. the timid voice sighed so did Aiko. They sounded like husband and wife arguing about what gender will the baby be before it's born. He was knocked out of his thoughts by Riley's comment and question on his hat. Oh thank you, well I sort of do but except the time I go to sleep that's when I remove it. answered his/her question. He looked around Riley's room then turned back to his roommate. You sure have a lot of books, what are they about? he asked curiously.

He nodded firmly, that made sense. The hat looked too big to be comfortable when you laid down. Riley glanced back into his room, eyes gliding over the pile after pile of books. "Yeah, I guess I do." his lips raised into a light smile and he turned back to face his companion. "They're all different." he answered him, and a sense of pride crept into his soft voice. "I like to read a lot, so I'll take anything I can get. Most of them here are Young Adult fiction." he walked back to his bed, grabbing his book, and moving back to Aiko. "Like this one here: Eragon. Nearly all of them are full series."
Books were the perfect companions, in his eyes. They never judged you, were available at any time, and never annoyed you. Was it sad if when asked who his best friend was, he'd answer 'books'? Riley pulled himself from out of his small trance, a sheepish smile appearing across his face-- before he remembered something. "Oh! I haven't checked out the entire dorm yet, so I'm not too sure about how many bathrooms we have. If it's only one, then I think we should maybe set up a schedule of some sorts." he was practical, as he liked to call it. But his sisters liked to call him OCD. But there was nothing wrong with having things orderly, now was there? "I mean, it shouldn't be much of a problem. We're both guys after all. If one of us walks in on each other, it's not like we'll see anything we haven't before." he chuckled lightly and ran his fingertips through the ends of his ponytail. "But still, a schedule would be... nice."

Aiko notice that Riley liked books, he could tell be the look on his/her face. He nodded as he listened to Riley's statements about the book he has. He looked around his/her room again, wow so he likes has a full series, lucky Riley doesn't have to bother to wait for the next book to come out or check in the library for that particularly book he/she is looking for. He looked back down at Riley when he mentioned about making a schedule, he raised one eyebrow up.She's a girl, she's a girl. the voice rang through his head beginning to confirm that Riley is a girl.
But as Riley explained further the laidback voice end up completely silently for awhile. ...Did I hear that correctly?I told you...I told you many times that he is a boy.Sure doesn't look or act like one.That's mean! the timid voice protest. Aiko was relived that Riley is a guy. He shook his head with a smile, A schedule is okay with me. he said, agreeing with Riley's schedule idea.

Riley nodded firmly, happy to hear that his roommate was an agreeable one. "Good! I'll get to setting one up before the week is over." he stifled a sigh of relief, and instead turned to put his book down; it was obvious he wouldn't be picking it back up anytime soon. If needed be, he'd propose more rules between the two, but for now he had nothing more to say. "You don't say much, do you?" he teased, though couldn't hide his delight in discovering this. If Aiko had been the rowdy, overly excited type, he was almost certain he would've requested for a dorm change. "That's fine. I don't make a lot of noise either. So I think we should get along well enough."
He'd already met his first person, and they were a pleasant individual; what luck! Riley found himself smiling lightly as he looked up at the other boy. Now if only he was a bit shorter... "I think we're supposed to go to an orientation today." he murmured and tilted his head to the side. "Oh, yes. We are." he gave a nod of confirmation before a sigh slipped from his lips. "It'll probably be loud, and very crowded..." he spoke half to himself as his eyes lowered to the ground. "But I guess we have to attend." aquamarine orbs found Aiko's face once more as Riley lifted his chin. "When we go, will you sit next to me? Everyone will be there, and I don't really know anyone else."

It's true I don't say much. Aiko found it a bit funny how Riley doesn't know that he had other alters and both of them are a bit loud well one of them. So they were both quiet, that sound good enough for him, no one to disturb while he dissects poor small animals and a few chemical experiments. He smiled at the thought that there will be no interruption during his free time. And looked down at Riley with a smile of delight, if only if he was taller so he wouldn't have neck pains probably Riley was thinking of the same thing.
Aiko blinked when he asked him if he could sit next to him at the orientation. Aww that's cute. the laidback voice instantly jumped in What was that!?O-o-oh it's nothing really. the timid voice finished off and fell silent again. Sure why not, it must be a bit awkward to next to someone you don't know at all. I guess. he said with a shrug of his shoulders.

Riley raised an eyebrow when Aiko added emphasis to the 'I', in his sentence. He opened his mouth to question it, before shaking his head to himself. Privacy. Either way, he had agreed that he didn't say anything. Homework and reading could be done easily in the silence. He nodded his head in agreement to his statement. "It really is." there was relief in the boy's voice when the other agreed. "We can go whenever you want. Though we shouldn't be too late." now that would've been something: getting in trouble on their first day. He moved around his room to his desk, where a map lay. He picked it up, eyes scanning over the piece of paper before he put it down. It didn't take him long to memorize the buildings in the school and their location.
"Are you a new student as well?" the question suddenly popped into his mind as he he was making his way to his bed, bending down to retrieve his shoes from underneath. His voice, now muffled, became audible once again. "I am, and I have to admit; I'm a bit nervous. I've never been away from home before, but they do say it's a good school. So I guess that's a good thing."

Aiko adjusted his hold on the toad on his hand, pressing the amphibian against his chest, making it harder for it to escape now and slip out of his hand. He could dissect it later, he would spare it's life for now. Most people find it twisted that he dissects small animals for his pass time, but he doesn't grab one and randomly kills it. That's just not right, he just grabs one that are sick and examine like he is a doctor but for animals. A vet you can say but slightly different.
Yes I am and I must say. I am a bit nervous about this school orientation thing too. Aiko said nervously and rubbed his arm. He prefers meeting someone individual not a whole group of people with unknown. It makes him very nervous and next thing you know he freaks out because he is afraid they are maybe threatening so he is a bit shaken at the thought of it now. He made a mental note to take two marbles before he leaves the dorm, it calms him down or someone there that he knows can calm him down, all they had to do is not say 'Everything is okay.' because that only makes it worse.

"Ah." Riley popped back up, shoes now in hand. "I understand that. Seeing all those people can be taxing on the nerves." sliding one shoe onto his foot, he stood back up. "But it's okay, I'll be there to protect you." the grin on his face revealed that he was teasing. Although he couldn't scare a kitten, he did have a rather acid-tongue. And when he got angry enough, he turned into an entirely different person. Curses and threats flying left and right. The boy hopped on one foot, the bare footed one held into the air. Once again he moved through his maze, at the same time trying to put his other shoe on. He stumbled, but instantly caught himself. "Alrighty! Are you ready?"

Aiko tilted his head to the side when Riley said he'll protect him. He shook his head when he asked him if he was ready. Oh wait hold on. he said then hastily walked to the sitting room where he left his suitcase. He opened the bag then placed the toad on the table again, but unfortunately it didn't stay there and hopped away again. He shrugged his shoulders, he'll catch it again as long as the door is closed. He searched through his bag then pulled out a closed transparent jar with a blue poisonous frog inside. He went back to Riley, Do you think that I can take Doku? I don't want him to be here alone all day. he said as he looked at the poisonous frog inside then showed Riley his pet.
