Seaki: Bryne was in a soft mood. Not soft in that she wouldn't be up in arms at the first sign of danger, but soft. She was affectionate and bubbly today. It was quite off the mark of her normal, serious mood. It had struck her sometime in midday, when Vogel had looked up at her with that silly lop-sided smile of his and and a rogue bird on his head.
The bird thing happened pretty often, as she noted, but that was besides the point. She was completely giddy and... dare she say - lovestruck? She laughed, nudging the patchy lion up and bounces off knowing he would follow.
nessiaing: Adri was walking around with her head down. She had just joined the pride. She was happy that she had found a new home, she needed one. Things hadn't been good in the rogue lands for her. She didn't really know how to live on her own.
She had lost all of her family when her old pride had been the subject of a hostile takeover. She was petty sure that they weren't dead but she had no way of knowing for sure. But life had to move on and she had to find a new home. Now however she needed to find a way to settle in here, make friends, a new family.. a life. Adri just wasn't really sure if she was ready for all of that.
Seaki: It didn't take long for the giddy lioness to come across a near downtrodden lioness. She hung back for a moment, glancing at Vogel for a moment. They were both scouts after all, and she didn't have the typical born-in look of the pride, and neither knew her.
And she looked upset.
Bryne frowned. "We should go see what's wrong," Bryne said softly to her patchy mate. He gave a soft nod, taking the lead in this. Bryne could be somewhat rough sometimes, so Vogel often lead in meeting new members.
"Hello, Miss, may I ask what ails you?" he said gently.
nessiaing: Adri lifted up her head, she was startled by the duo standing before her. It was surprising to her to see them standing there. Though just about anyone could sneak up on her when she was lost that deeply in thought.
"I miss my family and I don't know if they are alive." Adri said frankly she didn't really know how to put her troubles delicately. Her family was all gone and possibly dead, how else could she put it.
She looked the duo back and forth feeling bad for putting them in what must be a very uncomfortable situation.
Seaki: Bryne was still frowning when she head the reason for the lioness's sadness. Her whole family/ She couldn't imagine. "We can keep you company for a while," Bryne offered. She wasn't sure how to find out if the lioness's family was alive or not.
"Is there any way we could help?" Vogel asked, glancing over to his mate for a moment. It always made him ache when anyone was sad, and it looked like this little lioness had a very good reason to be.
nessiaing: Adri smiled at the couple, the were very kind. "I don't think there is a way to help. But your company would be appreciated. To tell the truth you are both the first I have spoken to in the pride really. Other when I first came and joined." Adri had never had the need to make friends before she had countless numbers of siblings, cousins and aunts and uncles running around that had been her age. There was always someone to play with or talk to. Now she was finding it was certainly a weakness of hers.
"My name is Adri, its a pleasure to meet you." one thing you could count on Adri for was always to be polite, her father and grandmother had taughter her her manners from a young age.
"Could you tell me more about this pride, and yourselves? Maybe that would make it feel just a little bit more like home." Adri offered them a shy but kind smile.
Seaki: That brough a smile to Bryne's face - she was quite sure she'd feel crushed if she didn't know if her family was alright. She thought her her parents and siblings and Vogel in that moment. "I'm Bryne, and he's Vogel," the silver lioness gave the other their names.
"It's nice to meet you as well," the dark-maned lion agreed. "We were both born in the pride, and started training to be scouts when we were very young." They'd both actually met each other by pure chance. Vogel had run away from a flock of birds and crashed into a very serious looking lioness around his age.
They'd been friends ever since, and their relationship evolved into what it was now. "It's a very peaceful pride, though sometimes we have trouble along the border with the hyenas," she'd been born after the war, and it hadn't been such an issue since then.”
nessiaing: Adri listened intentily at all they told her. Happy to have someone to talk to. She liked hearing that they were childhood sweethearts, it didn't happen very often where she was from, the males went out of the pride often to find their banu and to prove their worth. It was quite a romantic idea that you could grow up with someone, and they had such a cute story.
Adri found herself relaxing more and more listening to them. "Bryne and Vogel" she repeated their names careful to say them both right. "Well its nice to meet both of you" she told them.
"The pride seems like an amazing place to live, I choose it becase in a lot of ways it reminds me of home with all the activity." she offered them. She was honestly a little on edge to hear about the trouble on the borders with the hyena's. Having come from a pride that had been hostily taken over she wasn't sure what to make of this news, she was also unsure on how to ask for more details about it. She wasn't sure she could live through another war.
Seaki: Vogel nodded in turn smiling. "It's been quite a bit since any hyena activity. The pride is very old though, and has many kings," Vogel mentioned. "It's very well protected - probably one of the safest places to start a family." It had been a thing Vogel and Bryne had talked about, recently - if they should bring a family into the pride to raise.
"Once you get into the thick of the lands, the pride goes on further than the eye can see. It's rare for any dangers to breech the borders." Both had seen the edginess on the lioness's face at the mention of the hyenas, both aching to make her feel more comfortable in the lands.
nessiaing: Adri let a relieved sigh out, she liked to hear how well the pride was protected, it put her at ease almost instantly. "That is very nice to hear." she told them.
"I suppose my job now is to go and make more friends." she had enjoyed talking the duo very much and she knew that she would remember their faces and seek them out again. But she also knew she wasn't going to get any more comfortable by sitting and sulking. She had made it this far she should just throw herself into the new pride and the way life was lived her.
"I can not thank you both enough for your kindness. I hope that I see you again soon." she told them as she turned to head further into the pride lands. They had put her heart at east and lifted her spirits.
