Today was a good day for shopping and that was just what she intended to do - shop. Already two bags hung off the left arm of Genevieve, and she'd only been shopping for an hour and a half, there would no doubt be more bags hanging from her arms by the time she decided to go home. Caught up in the thrill of shopping she knew, in the back of her mind, that she would feel bad for spending all this money later when she got home and was finished unpacking everything. Once it was all hung up the guilt of spending so much of her parents money, on even more clothing and things, would crash down upon her.

Looking down onto freshly manicured nails she felt the smile on her face grow. Oh, it was such a good day! It wasn't too hot out nor was it cold, not a single rain filled cloud in the sky, and she'd already found a few lovely things to add to her wardrobe. Now though she really did need a new cover for her phone, her other one simply didn't match a few outfits she had planned in her mind. Her right hand rose and brushed a few locks of dark hair from her face as she headed into the store. She, like many, possessed an iPhone of the latest model and so figured the best place to get a case was of course the Apple store.

As someone opened the door, to leave, she slipped in and under his arm with a smile given as well as a thank you. Once inside the brunette went about glancing at everything, aside from what she was here for, as she really couldn't help herself. She already had a laptop and a desktop at home but she still had to look. Shaking her head, top teeth gently pressing down into her bottom lip, she hurried toward the cell phone accessories that were toward the back of the store were the registers were.

As she drew closer she noted that it seemed some sort of scene was being made, though she didn't hear more than one raised voice - how odd. Curious, and needing to find a case back here anyway, she quickened her pace as heels tapped the floor more rapidly. What was going on?

Honestly, this was really too much! It had just been a little phone and she'd already hidden it in her subspace pocket, but even her cutest face hadn't been able to sweeten the disposition if the irate store manager. When they'd caught her trying to make off with the newest iPhone, they'd chased her across the store and trapped her in a corner while security was called.

Ash really didn't understand the fuss. She was a beautiful, well kept cat with lovely manners and disposition and she would take WONDERFUL care of the phone... But the people who worked electronic stores just never seemed to be much of cat people, which was a shame in her opinion.

The Burmilla hissed threateningly as the manager attempted to cuff the back of her neck and drag her out, taking a swipe to scare him off more than hurt him. The overweight man jerked his hand back and cursed, trying to gentle his voice to lull her into trusting him. Idiot. That might have worked on another cat, but this one understood exactly what he was cooing at her and she wanted no part of that.

What she wanted was an escape route... Or Atleast someone not threatening to skin her for boots. Ash's tail lashed as she crouched low in her hidding space under the counter, her green eyes large behind her purple visor.

It was this ridiculous mess which Genevieve had come across. After all wasn't it ridiculous, and a lot mean, to see someone with a poor cat backed into the corner and shouting at the poor thing? Stepping closer, the black and cream lace she wore swaying about her thighs, she stepped up to the manager and stared him down while moving her hair from her face, a sweeping gesture made to move a large amount of hair back and to the opposite shoulder. "Excuse me, but what are you doing to my cat?" She questioned stressing the word 'my' as she stared the manager down whilst tapping a heel on the floor, which was surely expensive from the look of it.

This certainly wasn't her cat but who was he to know that? This could, for all he knew, be her cat that he was treating so poorly. "Tell me, what is the purpose of backing a cat into a corner? They hiss, bite, and scratch when you do that or do you somehow not understand that?" She again questioned the manager before bending, careful of her dress, and reached out cooing softly to the undoubtedly scared animal. "Come here little one. I'll keep you safe." Shooting a look over her shoulder at the manager, a momentary look, before turning her attention back onto the Burmilla. This wasn't her cat but how dare someone say such things to the kitty, even if said cat couldn't possibly understand the words he was saying.

"What was my cat doing which caused you to say such....things[/i[] to her?" The voice was sweet, perhaps a bit too sweet, but it just made her sound like a very upset owner and that's what she was aiming for right now. "If she's damaged something I can easily cover it." Rather flippant and even sweeter spoken were these words, making sure it sounded like such a thing was no big deal to her - which it wasn't. She wasn't about to come up with some story as to why her cat was with her shopping, as she had clearly been shopping, and had gotten lose in this store. That was something she couldn't manage to do on the fly.

An imperious feminine voice caught Ash's attention and her ears perked forward as she spared a glance for the new comer.

My cat? Clever, clever girl. The phrasing was something of a god send right now and the guardian made a quick decision as her rescuer gave the manager an earful about the proper way to deal with a cat. When she bent to coo at her, Ash let out a friendly chirp and bounced out of her hiding spot. Tail lifted high and looking for all the world perfectly comfortable, the burmilla came to rub herself against the girl's reaching hand in defiance of the 'hell cat' name the irate man had given her.

See, this is how you treat a cat, you great lummox. Little sugar goes a long way.

The large man harrumphed and sputtered as some stranger from the gathering crowd waltzed up and did what he had been trying to do for a good half hour already. His face was red with annoyance and he dug a handkerchief out of his pocket to wipe the sweat from his forehead as he gave the girl a scowling look.

"I caught it trying to make off with some of our merchandise! There are no animals allowed in the store, miss, so I'm going to need you to take the cat, if its yours, and remove it. I'm sorry, but we can't be having animals running wild around the mall." He grated, trying to keep his tone civil despite how put out he felt. Of all the stores crazy s**t happened in, of course it had to be his on the day he was working. This stuff never happened on his days off.

Smiling as the cat went along with her plan, not that she knew it was knowingly going along with her plans, as she picked the feline up and held the cat to her chest and leaned down to rub her cheek to the soft fur atop the little ones head. Cooing some more to soothe the animal in her arms, unsure just how scared the cat might actually be and not wanting to be clawed, she needed to keep up the act of owner to this cat. To keep up the act she had to keep her, or maybe him, calm.

Standing up swiftly, heels clicking as she shifted and stepped once or twice to balance herself and her bags, of which she had several. "Was she?" Genevieve questioned with a raised brow, her attention on the red faced manager, oh how upset he did seem. Turning to the kitten then, as if some overly affectionate owner and cooed even louder as she raised her voice to a higher pitch. "Aww, what a cute kitten you are, trying to get mommy something, weren't you?" Rubbing her cheek again to the top of the cats head.

"Of course, I had my driver carrying her in her carrier, I don't like to leave her alone at home, when she got out. We had just stopped to open her carrier and give her some water. She must have gotten scared by all the people around." She stated as she scrambled for an answer, an excuse, while making sure to cover the fact that it was all a story. "Has my little one damaged anything? if so I'll pay for that and be out of your store. If not then perhaps whatever she was looking at, after all she does have good taste, can be purchased before we take our leave" Prim and proper, nose up in the air as she looked over her shoulder at the man, shifting the cat in her arms so the kittens head could rest on her shoulder.

Ash cat-grinned as the girl picked up her, the cheek rubs eliciting a deep, rumbling purr of satisfaction. Oh yes, this one's a keeper. She thought, her tail curling lazily as she relaxed completely.

The manager was dumbfounded as the girl cooed at her pet, for all the world like any super rich, entirely ridiculous debutante. He harumphed again as he tucked his handkerchief away, calming slowly as things started to get under control again.

"Nothing is broken, Miss." He said, glad it was so. Dealing with damages was not something he would enjoy right now. "She was fussing around the phones, but nothing got damaged. I don't know what in particular drew her attention."

Ash chirped as she was draped over her new friend's shoulder, her paws dangling. She gave the manager a smug look and he scowled back at the guardian, his face clearing again when her 'owner' looked back at him.

"It would be best if you just took your pet back to your car. I'm sure she's... tired from all the excitement." He said, hoping just to get the pair out of his store, and his hair.

"Of course, I'll take her back as soon as I make a purchase here. As you said my cat was interested in the phones and there must have been a reason. It's time for a new phone anyway." She stated while using one hand to retrieve the phone she had from her bag. It was a a model back but there was never a better time to replace it, now seemed like the perfect time and a good excuse. her parents would surely understand.

She knew how she must be coming off, she was trying to after all, and turned back to nuzzling and cooing to the cat in her arms. "I'll take the exact one she was looking at actually." She stated with a firm nod of her head and a smile in place, something she hoped would get the manager to comply with her request. "I have the money, in cash, to pay actually." She'd have to dig through her purse one handed but it was no problem for her, she'd long ago gotten used to such things.

"Then once we're done we'll be out of your hair, I promise." And she would and then she could see what to do with this kitty. If it didn't have a home perhaps she could give it one and bring it back with her? It was a good idea actually - it was a lovely cat.

The manager sighed and finally gave in to the pushy young woman, dutifully showing her the phones Ash had been fussing with. He personally helped her pick out a model to her liking and rang it up for her, tucking it into a bag with its receipt and then escorting her out of the store. He didn't even bother trying to sell her any accessories for the item, preferring instead to just get the pair out of his hair.

Ash, for her part, hung contentedly in the girls arms the whole time, that smug look never wavering. She was getting her escape with no more effort on her part and no one suspected she was making off with one of the phones to boot. One of the joys of having a sub space pocket.

When they finally made it out of the store, the guardian gave a long, lazy yawn and blinked around her, taking her time with deciding what she was going to do now. The carry was rather comfortable, but it was probably a bad idea to let the girl get as far as a car with her. It wasn't that Ash couldn't escape most situations with enough effort, but that she really didn't want to have to put out that much energy right now. All the excitement of the store had made her want to nap and she rumbled thickly as her tail twitched back and forth.

Maybe it wouldn't hurt anything to see what the girl would do with her. There was something about this one she rather liked and it was worth investigating that nagging little pull. Doing so in the past had had wonderful outcomes, this one might too. If what she felt was what she thought, it could be quite wonderful indeed.

She could have said something, could have made things more difficult, but she had done what she'd set out to do. She had saved the cat, belittled the manager, and gotten the phone just to snub the man further. All was done and accomplished as far as the fair skinned girl was concerned. The bag hanging from her wrist, cat still in her arms, as they left the store and she headed them both out of the mall. "Well, now I should find who you really do belong to and let them know what you've been up to." She spoke more to herself than the cat, seeing as cats certainly couldn't understand such words. She would, of course, keep the phone seeing as she'd paid for it but she would let the cats real owner know what had happened. She could only imagine what the store manager would do if he found out the truth; that the cat was not hers. She was sure the man would loose it and go red in the face while sputtering, stuttering, and yelling or shouting.

"Now, I didn't see a tag on you but maybe you've been micro chipped kitty." Nuzzling the soft fur the the burmilla as she escaped the large mall and the people milling about inside of it. She had a car, of course, and a driver even to go with it! So that was while she shifted the poor cat in her arms, she did need a hand to fish her phone from her purse, and put in a call letting him know where she was and asking if he could bring the car around to pick her up. She would let him know once he arrived about the trip to a nearby vets that they'd need to make, she wanted to see if this lovely cat was chipped. "You really are a lovely cat. If an owner can't be found perhaps I should keep you - till they can be found." Of course such a soft, and lovely cat, had an owner and would most certainly be looking for this lovely feline. She would just keep the cat in the meantime and assure they were cared for and loved, kept in a nice home. She was well meaning, how could she not be when it came to an animal?

"No one will be the wiser." Aside from her driver.

The silver cat was content to hang limply in the arms that carried her, lazily curling her tail back and forth as she accepted all the attention as simply her due. It was, after all, even if most of it was for show to get her out of the tight spot she had gotten into. It wasn't her fault the manager had taken exception to her presence in the store.

Ash began to squirm when the girl finished her call and finally pushed herself out of her arms to land lightly at her feet. There, she settled to sit with her tail around her paws, prim and dainty. Lifting her face, she spoke in a clear voice, tinged with amusement.

"That was quite the act, Darling, and I'm very grateful for it. Its quite lucky for me that you came along when you did, and lucky for you that we met today, perhaps." She flicked her tail lightly, her bright eyes shaded purple by her visor as she looked upwards. "I think we need to talk, in private. I have something for you that is just for your eyes and ears only."

It was hard to say what sort of set up this car had, if they'd be separated from the driver, but being held to her chest had assured Ash there was more to this one than there appeared. That faint tingle of a feeling she'd come to know well.

She had expected the cat to perhaps jump from her arms, or become uncomfortable at some point. But to sit there and not run off? Not what she was expecting but even more unexpected was what happened next. Standing there, in her lovely lace dress, she heard a cat talk.

"A cat...that talks." How was that possible? She was certain she wasn't dreaming but what else could explain this? "Genevieve..." She spoke, giving the cat her name as way of correcting the cat from calling her darling. The compliment about her acting was ignored for the moment, her name was even spoke in a tone which suggested she was in some state of mild shock and surprise.

"Private...umm..yes." Coming to her senses she nodded her head. "We'll have that in the car. But you'll explain this." Gesturing to the cat herself. "The talking..." She hoped. She was hoping she wasn't ill or somehow asleep and unaware of it. "The car should be here in a moment then we can talk...I can bring you home - if you have one?" She offered, unsure if a talking cat had a home or where such a cat would live. Up till now she was unaware such cats existed much less than she would meet such a cat. So she didn't know where such a cat would live, if it had a home or what.

When the car did come around, a luxury car with a divide between the back two seats and the front two, she let the driver come around and open the door for her before climbing in and motioning the cat to follow her inside. Thanking her driver with a smile and polite words. He had helped and driven for her family since she was a small girl, he had held her in his arms, held umbrellas for her, and many more things including her first teddy bear for her second birthday. He was like another member of the family, so it was perhaps a bit odd when she put the divide up but she'd find some reason to give him later. Once she was settled and the car moving she turned her dark blue eyes on the cat. "Alright...please tell me."

Ash groomed herself with lazy intent as they waited for the car, feeling smug that she had yet again startled someone with this seemingly amazing ability for speech. They were always startled, really, and it was both annoying and amusing. The reaction was wonderful, but there was always that bit of time where she had to wait for them to get over the shock to have an intelligent conversation.

When the door of the car opened, Ash was quick to follow her new companion inside and she took a prim seat beside her, green eyes wide and bright behind her visor. Whiskers puffed as they started moving and the gray cat curled her tail around herself.

"I'm one of a race of beings called Guardian Cats... or Mauvians, if you prefer. Highly intelligent beings that once hailed from the planet Mau, but in current day are being reborn here on Earth." Ash tilted her head, studying the young woman intently. "The reason we are here is because it is our duty to serve and guide Sailor Senshi... humans with a connection to a cosmic body that gives them the power to fight Chaos. I believe you are one of those people."

The cat sat up proudly, lifting her head up with little perked ears. She'd known when the girl had held her close, sensed it from her starseed. Getting up, Ash spun in place and something fell out of the air, bouncing against the seat. It was a pen with a fancy top, a symbol etched into the plastic.

"If you hold this pen and say 'Nephthys Power, Make-up!' it will transform you."

So an alien cat race? Now that was interesting and the idea of aliens was very...mixed. Aliens were both scary, intimidating even but at the same time very interesting and a curious thing. Aliens could be so many things - both invader or peace seeker. It was a very odd thing and she supposed, and assumed, the cat here talking to her was not seeking world domination or something similar so Genevieve was calm at least as the cat explained herself.

"Reborn...so you're not directly from here? So wait...does that mean like you died there and your soul was reborn into a cat here?" She asked after some moments of thinking over what the cat was telling her. The concept was odd and yet also very interesting and would conjure up mental images later. What could that planet have been like and why be reborn here? Did they have memories of there? Oh! There were so many ideas going about her head that she knew she'd have some very interesting images dancing about her head later. She might ask this cat next time they met, as she had a feeling they'd meet again in the future.

"People with a cosmic connection? Like a power...like super heroes or like mutants?" Referring to the big franchises of Superman who was from elsewhere and thus had powers or XMan and the mutants who had powers due to a genetic mutation, but in this case a mutation which connected them to something bigger? Or was it like she'd once heard someone babbling about...what was it? Purple...no...laven-no indigo! Yes Indigo children. Was it like that? Was that real and this was that? The very notion of people having powers had her staring at the cat intently. "And you think I am one of these people? But how?" She wasn't that special, even if all people were special. She wasn't that special. "A duty to serve...so that's why you were reborn here? To serve and help..." Did she wish to return to where she'd once lived and died? Would she if she could? She wanted to ask these things but didn't, another day she would.

Looking at what the cat produced, out of thin air, she picked it up hesitantly though also staring in wonder at the object. "I - I can't do that here but I will once I'm out of here. A-are you coming home with me?" To see when she did this, when she said those words for the other.

The guardian smiled serenely, her head lifted proudly. Why yes, she was quite amazing, thank you. She was glad to see this girl recognized that. There was no one like Ash in the entire universe, it was quite a privilege to meet her.

"I assume I lived another life somewhere and died. It was probably on Mau, the planet we are from. All senshi, and a good many knights, are reborn as we are. Some have theorized that its because all the worlds in the galaxy have been decimated and can no longer support life... so all the reborn souls were sent here, because this is the last living planet. I don't have personal knowledge of this, of course, but its a good guess." Ash yawned lazily, her jaws spreading wide before closing as she licked along her muzzle. "I suppose you could liken it to a super power, but this power comes from the magic at the heart of a planet, asteroid or star. If I remember correctly, there are some superheros in the comics that get power in something of a similar way, but I've not made a true study of it."

Tilting her head, Ash blinked at her companion and let out a laugh, waving a paw dismissively. "Oh, no, not in here... that would be silly. See, we need to get you out into some space so you can test out your new abilities, you certainly can't do that in a car... that would just be silly. So. I suppose I am coming home with you, if that's where we're going. I'm a patient girl... I can wait while you do whatever it is you need to do before you have the time to join me. We'll need a few hours of privacy, if you think you can manage that? I really don't want to leave you without any sort of knowledge of what's going on and what you're getting into."

"So it's like this is the only place for the souls to be reborn...but why not wait till life sparks again on those planets and stars and such? I mean it can happen...right? Something has to be living there and it can evolve..." Right? But how long would that take? Than again how long had it had so far? It was mind boggling and had her really trying to grasp at things she was so taken away with over how amazing it sounded to her. There was somethign after death and it was rebirth! That alone was something of a relief to her - to know that people she'd loved, her grandmother (on her fathers side) would be reborn and that there wasn't some...heaven or hell like some people said there was. There was also not some nothingness. Her grandmother she could remember telling it that it was the one thing she feared - dying and not being able to dream; never mind the fact she wouldn't be aware of it. Her grandmother was a dreamer, not a hippie but some pagan but her grandmother was unusual by some peoples standards. It was a wonder her grandfather and grandmother had ever been together but they say opposites attract and she could believe it due to them. Her grandfather was a business man whilst her grandmother had been the sort to hang crystals around the house in the windows, so they cast rainbows all around ,and would make clay pots and bowls, paint, and listen to all sorts of gentle music without words. Her grandmother had loved the ocean and just sitting and listening to the waves roll in. She was more than that - so much more. To know she would be reborn, that there was more, was comforting and almost brought the dark haired girl to tears as she thought about her dearly departed grandmother - she had gone far too soon for Genevieve's liking.

"Why? Why is there no life else where? And what proof is there? They say there must be aliens given how many planets, stars, and moons there are. That the odds win in favor of their being aliens. So the numbers should be in favor of life still being out there on some of those planets and stars - right?" They couldn't all be dead. And she didn't, for one moment, buy into the idea that only ones like earth could support life. Aliens could surely need other things to live, things that may even kill humans. So weren't the odds in favor of not every place which had sustained life now being devoid of it. The idea of that being true, which she really wasn't buying, was sad and troubling. It was something she would like to ask more about but not right now, this wasn't the time. Now it seemed she had something very important to learn about - herself.

"I think some super heros in the comics are like that - I've never read any. If you want maybe I could get some for you to read? If you're curious, just to see what they are like and what those stories are like." She would be very out of place in a comic book store but if the cat did want to read a comic book, or even several, she was willing to go in and ask a worker for any which had characters that were aliens. Even if they weren't true and held no information they could be interesting and maybe even a way to relate things to some others like herself?

While the cat went on to explain about her using her powers and needing time to spare she nodded her head. "my parents aren't home and won't be for some time - they are busy people. I'll have time as soon as I put my shopping bags away. We'll have the house to ourselves." They had a driver but not maids or butlers, everyone cleaned up after themselves and she did a fair amount of cleaning as did her mother when she was home, oddly enough so did her father when he was home and not busy with work. "We can go down into the gym we have in the house." Her mother preferred working out at home rather than wasting the time to go out to a gym, more time away from home, and spend money on a gym membership when she could pay once for all the equipment she could ever need. "If that's good for you? I'll make you something to eat and you can stay as long as you like afterwards as well." Since she still didn't know if the cat had a home or where it was, and she didn't want to just toss the lovely cat out of her home when the cat was done helping her - that would be rude and mean.

"I'd like to know whatever you can tell me. I don't want to go into this all blind."
