It had taken a bit of doing, and a lot of sneaking, on the part of Keona and her partner in crime Bisera to get away from not only their parents but also away from Tukyere itself. The two of them looked ahead of themselves, toward the open area of sand, before Keona gave a thoughtful sound, "Huh... wonder where we should go now." She mused, she had thought that, once they were outside, that there would be plenty of dragons to be had... but she didn't even see one of them. Resting one hand on her hips she gave a sigh, "You see anything, Bi?"
Bisera's wings gave a little flutter before he looked from side to side, head cocked to one side, "Hmmm... I don't know... I don't see anything either. Geez! I thought we were gonna be fighting an army of dragons, Nana. You made it seem like they were going to be everywhere." He sounded as displeased as Keona was disappointed. The fact that the two of them had tried so hard to get themselves out of Tukyere only to find that there were no dragons to be had.
Keona looked down at the sparkling staff that she was holding, then set to waving it around, "Come on! You're supposed to be lucky! So be lucky you staff!" She squeaked, shaking it harder as though that would do exactly what he wanted it to do.
The two apprentices froze in place, jerking their heads up toward the sky when a Kiandri suddenly flew by, gaining their attention, before both of them looked at the staff in shock and awe. It would appear that it was magically lucky! After both set to grinning, pleased with what the staff had accomplished, the pair went racing along after the dragon in hopes of catching up with it. It had to land sometime and when it did the two of them meant to beat it up, somehow, and get an orb from it!

Now that the two of them had found a dragon to try to hunt down Keona was equal parts excited and scared, not that she would admit the second thing when Bisera was around. No, she wanted to look as brace as her friend was looking, though unlike her Bisera had those amazing goggles of his, something that allowed him to look tough as well as rather cool. Maybe she should get some of those to help hide her eyes as well. Sure, she didn't have the same sort of eyes as Bisera but still, she could at least look as cool as he did she thought to herself as he hurried along toward across the hot sand, glad that she had her poncho with her since it helped to keep the sun off her.
"So, how do you plan to fight the dragon, Bi?" She asked, grinning over at him, pointing her staff at him, "You don't have a cool weapon like the one that I do." She really was proud of it, it was the most amazing thing that she had ever seen! Alright, a bit of an exaggeration but she'd stand behind the argument if Bisera wanted to have it. Instead, much to her surprise, he drew a rather impressive knife from his pack, "W-Wha? Where did you get that?" She squeaked out, taking a step closer to him, looking it over, quite in awe of the weapon even if it wasn't hers.
The boy gave a bit of a smirk, lifting a hand to run it through his aqua colored locks before he said, "I got it from my dad, of course! He's a hunter and he wants me to be a hunter too. I am not gonna be some boring magic slinger like you probably are, Nana." He said, waving his free hand in a dismissing manner, looking bored.
Keona made a face before continuing forward, "Even if I do become a 'magic slinger' your silly knife won't beat as many dragons as my magic will!" She declared, sticking her tongue out at him before turning her attention back to the dragon that they were following. Much to her surprise and delight it was landing and upon the two of them getting to the top of the hill they realized why, the dragon had arrived at an oasis, "Oh! Look, Bi! It's going to be distracted with drinking, it will give us a perfect chance at attacking." She whispered, giving him nudge before she started sneaking forward with Bisera quick to follow. Their dragon had landed now all they had to do was beat it.

With the dragon distracted with getting a drink from the oasis, giving them a chance to sneak in close, hoping to get in a sneak attack against the big Kiandri. It was something that neither of them had done before but they would need to learn if they were going to be strong like their parents and become members of the hunting party that they were born into. It would be a bit trial and error, both of them being complete novices, but they had decided it was something they wanted to do themselves so they would need to figure it out themselves.
"Alright, Bi, you have the knife so... when I hit the dragon with my staff and it turns you stab it?" She whispered the plan to her friend. It wasn't the best, most in depth sort of plan but it was something, right?
Bisera looked over at her, to his knife, then over to where the dragon was standing. He seemed to piece her plan together for a moment, looking thoughtful, before finally giving a little nod of his head, "Well... we can see how it goes." He muttered back, not certain about it but he'd do whatever he could with his knife to try to defeat the dragon that they had followed this far.
Once they were both ready the battle began against the Kiandri as Keona whacked it in the back leg with the Staff of Luck... but instead of whirling around to meet them, all roars and teeth, the big dragon merely gave a slight twitch before it continued on drinking the crystal clear water of the oasis. The lack of reaction had the apprentices exchanging confused looks before scooting closer to one another, whispering quietly as they they set to work trying to figure out what their next plan was to take down the thick skinned dragon.

After a bit of plotting on the part of the two hybrid children they came up with an idea that should work... or at least it was an idea that they hoped would work. The Kiandri was a rather big guy, one that had a thick hide that had shrugged off the blow that Keona had tried to use against it. No luck with that swing but it wasn't about to stop the pair of them. This time around Bisera had decided that he would step up, looking for a part of the dragon that had a vulnerable area on its body. Once it found what looked like some softer folds of skin near where it's legs met with it's body and that was where he aimed for. Taking a couple quick steps forward Bisera buried his knife into the dragon's skin... and this time it reacted though again, not as they had expected.
A bit startled the dragon by the 'attack' the dragon suddenly reared up, pushing off the ground, and set to flapping its wings rapidly to take it up into the sky and away from whatever had just pricked it in the leg. The wind that its wings kicked up succeeded in sending sand flying in all directions as well as knocking the pair of apprentices over.
Keona landed on her side, Bisera on his stomach next to her, and both of them slowly sand up, spitting out sand as they did so, looking a bit disgruntled over the fact that they had gotten flattened not by the dragon but just by the wind that he had kicked up. This round of the battle most certainly went to the dragon, especially when Bisera noticed something most alarming, "He took my knife!" He said in a shocked manner, jumping to his feet, looking up at the dragon that was circling around, able to see the glint of the knife that was still stuck in its side. Not a sight that did anything for the boy's mood that was for sure as he yelled at the dragon, "You stupid lizard! Give that back to me!" A yell that was ignored.
Keona set to scrambling around, hands searching through the sand, before she found her staff. Pushing to her feet as well she set to brushing it off announcing, "Look, Bi! It really is lucky!" Lucky that it hadn't been stolen when the knife had. Now... to figure out how to fix this, to both get the knife back and get the dragon back, "Eesh... I wish I had some magic already." She murmured, mostly to herself, as he lifted her staff up, aiming it at the dragon, hoping to summon forth more of the luck that it had given them early... but there was nothing, not yet at least, and the dragon continued to circle.

Much to the displeasure of both Keona and her hunting partner Bisera the dragon didn't seem as though it were planning on coming down any time soon. In fact it was up there, circling around, seemingly just sizing them up. The fact that the two of them were young and small meant that they were both at risk, "He's probably up there debating on which one of us he wants to eat first." Bisera muttered, adjusting his goggles a bit so that he could continue to follow the dragon's movements with his eyes, twitching with anger a bit as he saw the way that his knife remained stuck in its skin. It was as though the thing was just mocking him now.
Keona rested one hand on her hip, seeming as though she were deep in thought, before she said, "I know that we can still get it! We just... need to figure out how to get it to come back down here. Well... how to get it to come back down in a manner that doesn't involve it swooping down to eat the two of us." Given its size it would be likely to want to eat them both, meaning that now that it was both very aware of them as well as out of their reach they needed to be that much more careful. Her brows furrowed as she seemed to be trying to figure out what it was that she wanted to do next... but she was coming up with a blank. Looking around the area she found herself debating over what it was that they should do, before noticing the palms that were surrounding the oasis. They were hardy trees, some of few that were able to survive in this area, "Come on! We are gonna duck under the trees, he won't be able to see us and will be forced to come down if he really wants to eat us!" She said, grabbing hold of Bisera by the arm, dragging him under the biggest of them since it would give them the best amount of cover.
"Alright, we wait here for a bit and he is bound to come down to us. When he does I will try to distract him and you can get his knife!" Keona said, pressing close to the trunk of the tree, an example that Bisera followed, as the two of them waited and listened. Over head the dragon set to roaring in an annoyed fashion when the two 'vanished' from sight and from the sounds it was making it was slowly getting closer, meaning that the plan was working. All they had to do now was wait for their chance.

Keona and Bisera exchanged looks as they heard the sound of the dragon coming closer and closer to them, the both of them appearing as though they were questioning their decision to come out this far on their own. It wasn't something that either of them would say out loud though. Both of them were out to far to call for help and with the dragon overhead they couldn't really try to run for it. If they tried it would likely catch up with them, meaning that they were going to have to be that much more careful. Leaning in closer Keona whispered, "We need to try to keep the trees between us and him I think." After a moment of thought she asked, "Do you think that will work, Bi? At least until we can get your knife?"
The boy gave a flutter of his brown wings, looking thoughtful, before he finally said, "I... think... it could work. Maybe when it comes down you can crack it on the nose with your staff then duck behind the tree? It will look your way and I can get the knife and... I don't know... stab it in the throat or the eye or something?" He couldn't say he knew the best places to strike but those ones made a lot of sense to him.
They both seemed to be debating over that plan when the dragon suddenly crashed down in the sand, giving a great war, and breathed out a burst of electrical energy. It was startling but Bisera was able to grab hold of Keona, dragging both of them to the ground, both crying out when the lightning attack hit the tree they had been hiding near, causing it to fall over. Looking up at it the pair forgot about their plan the scurried under the leafy branches of the tree, hiding themselves in it, both of them trying to figure out what it was that they should do next.
The dragon started stalking closer, causing both of them to start to shake with fear... when suddenly a mass of roots from the palms burst up from the ground and set to entangling the dragon much to the surprise of the two apprentices.

Keona and Bisera watched from their hiding place as the roots of the palm trees entangled the Kiandri dragon that had been rather close to attacking them. The creature set to struggling and fighting, snapping at the vines, roaring, spitting out electrical energy, and otherwise throwing a fit over the fact that it had been captured when it was so close to getting its claws on the pair that had been poking at it. The pair were quiet for a moment before Keona gave a soft groan, looking over at Bisera, before she ducked down into the palm fronds a bit further, "We are in so much trouble... I think that is my daddy..." She whispered to Bisera in a hushed tone. They were saved from the dragon, which was nice, but those vines could only mean one thing, Junjie had found them, and she knew full well that the two of them were going to end up grounded for all of eternity, if not longer.
Bisera's eyes went wide behind his goggles before he ducked back further, spotting his father as the man came rushing in toward the dragon that was bound up by the vines and easily cleaved its head off with the weapon that he was carrying, "Well... that only adds to how much trouble we are in." He muttered, wishing that there was some way for the two of them to disappear but given that there was no magic like that they were gong to have to face a pair of angry fathers here in a moment, not something that either of them were looking forward to.
"Any ideas for how to escape from them? I think that they might be scarier then the dragons." Keona murmured, watching as the big Orderite man moved to gather up glittering Dragon Orbs, as well as the knife that had once been stuck in the dragon's thick hide. While he did that Junjie turned his full attention towards the rustling palm fronds on the fall tree, seeming to know exactly where the pair of them were hiding at the moment, "Oh man... looks like they know exactly where we are, Bi." There would be no escaping for them, that much was for certain.
Junjie walked over to stand next to the fallen tree, with Kathel coming to stand beside him... and there was silence. It was obvious that the two fathers were waiting for Keona and Bisera to come out on their own, something that they hesitated to do for quite before they finally came crawling out of their leafy hiding place. Pushing to their feet the two of them looked everywhere but at their parents, brushing at the sand that was clinging to them.
The silence continued as Keona clutched at her Staff of Luck, finally glancing up at the two older warriors through her bangs, looking very uncertain before she finally said, "I... ummm... we're sorry..." It was really all that she could come up with even though she wasn't exactly as sorry as she probably should be. She wanted to get stronger and the only way to get stronger was to fight, something she had learned from watching others do it from afar. Shaking her head she then looked up at him and said, "N-No! Actually... I'm... I'm not! Bisera and I, we need to get strong! We aren't like Mister Kathel, we aren't the sorts that are allowed to do anything we like. We have of mixed blood and therefore we have to... to be... strong!" She tried to sound as brave as she could even though she was stumbling over some of her words as she spoke.
Junjie looked between the pair, to Kathel, and back again, "We are heading back to Tukyere, we will decide what we want to do with the pair of you after that." He said, getting a nod from Kathel, before the group of them were heading back to the City of Hybrids, everyone falling once more into silence as they made the walk back.
