The man soon came out from the back. He said something in Chinese to the lady who was screaming at him. He stepped towards the counter and pulled out a menu and quickly got a drink of water before going over to the girl. He placed down the menu first and then the drink. "Take a look. If you have any questions go ahead and ask. We're not busy just yet so I can stay for a bit." He told her with a grin.

~Roxie Harper~ Roxie had been sitting at her booth looking pretty and feeling bored. If she is sitting, boredom comes pretty quick and it caused her to play with the salt shaker by sliding it on the table from one hand to the other until Lambert returned with a glass of water for her to drink and menu for her to look over the food items the restaurant has. She is already adamant on the duck and since the place isn't busy, he can stay around so she can ask him a couple of questions. She opened the menu and pretended to look at it for a moment to pose as a customer before looking at him. Then she proceeded to ask him some questions,
"Okay, what to ask a stranger I met today who grabbed me out of self-defense when I accidentally sat on him not knowing that he can turn invisible...hmm...well I guess I should start with the obvious question. Exactly what is it that you're trying to accomplish here? It seems to me you're hiding and you don't have to tell me the whole story, but if I can know the gist of what's happening, I feel more comfortable about helping you out. Now for some 'boyfriend girlfriend questions'. Who are you? You got any hobbies? Any dreams or goals that keep you going in life?"

Lambert was taken aback by the girl. She thought there was something about him. he really didn't want to make himself noticeable and after the shock started to laugh. "That's funny a waiter having something to hide. Well if there was something why would I have such a public job." He joked. He knew why he had this job. It was the only one he could get that offered some protection. The girl continued onto the next question. "Wait. What? I only meant we should act like a couple till we got in here. I didn't ask you out or anything."

~Roxie Harper~ Did Lambert believe he could simply brush off her question about him hiding something from her if he went through all the trouble of grabbing her and telling her to act as if they were a couple until they were at the restaurant? Of course he had to be hiding something, even if it meant he was hiding from someone. It's as if this guy got in trouble with the Mafia and he would get killed if he spilled any of their secrets to anyone.
"Okay, so the whole business about being grabbed like that at the boulevard and the excitement meant nothing to you...you're so cruel...hehehe! Only joking! You did say act like a couple, so I'm just doing my part here. Of course, I'll stop if its making you uncomfortable. Now about my first question, what kind of waiter asks a girl to pretend to be his girlfriend as he goes to his job? Either you're trying to impress someone or there is some dark secret you're keeping me from? C'mon, you can tell me. I'm good with secrets and making other guys jealous...and occasionally girls too."

Lambert stood up and slammed against the table. "I was hiding an erection and I'm not your boyfriend." The man shouted before his face turned to one of horror. He shouted it to the whole restaurant. They weren't busy and most of them were men, but he shouted it out. He could feel the breath of his Chinese Terror behind him. "Mrs. Chen I can explain." The woman grabbed his ear. "You terrible perverted boy. I thought I raised you better than that. Where are your manners." The woman went off yelling at the man in Chinese. Lambert could only respond back to the woman who after she was done slapped the man and turned to Roxie. "I'm terribly sorry for my waiter. He has such rude manners. What would you like for lunch?" The woman asked as Lambert rubbed his ear. Once Roxie had told her she glared at Lambert one more time before walking to the back. Lambert shuttered a bit. "As I said it was only the bulge in my pants I was hiding. If I didn't have some girl to cover for me then I probably would have been knocked out by some guy who thought I was looking at his girlfriend or something."

~Roxie Harper~ Lambert slamming the table gave Roxie a jump scare, as in she slightly jumped from her seat from the surprise he gave her. Apparently her statement about what happened at the boulevard was not meant to be stated again, but she did mention that she was only joking so it is his fault for overreacting. It seems that his outburst not only caught the patrons of the restaurant's attention, but the owner as a Chinese woman came up to him and grabbed his ear before he can explain what happened. Listening to what this woman had to say him made her want to laugh because she sounded like a mother scolding her child. Of course, she did her best not to laugh to avoid being rude, especially when this woman apologized on his behalf and decided to take her order. With a smile she said to the woman,
"It's okay. Boys are boys. As for what I will be having, I been told by a friend that duck is good, so I will give that try today."
With the lady gone to place in her order, Lambert once again tried to tell her that what he was hiding was the erection he got when she sat on him. That may be complimenting, but she still feels that wasn't the whole truth. However, she wasn't going to question it anymore and decided to go with his answer.
"Okay. Fine. Guilty as charged here. I'm gorgeous and I nearly made a situation embarrassing for you...oh wait too late. I'm pretty sure getting your ears yanked by a Chinese lady in front of the whole restaurant is already embarrassing. So I'm guessing when I'm done with lunch here, I'm suppose to get out of your hair? You did say I had to pretend until I got here and get my food."

Lambert frowned. It really hurt. "I'm used to the ear pulling. Every since I stopped doing the house work upstairs and started to work down here, Mrs. Chen has always pulled my ears. It's okay, because she's also the woman who reads me poetry every evening before bed." The man said. He said it with the fondest of voice. It was clear he liked the aging woman. Lambert took note of the quote that she gave and chuckled. "I suppose that is true then. I guess I'm your boyfriend until you finish eating by those standards." He agreed. He leaned back trying to remember the questions that she had for him. He took time to think about how he would answer each one of them. He would uphold what he said. "Most people know me as Lambert Chen, my hobbies include boat sailing, conspiracy theories, cooking, and poetry, and learning about famous wizards. I don't have any goals, but to one day meet my idol. I don't date people, it's too troublesome and I hold no dark secret." Lambert answered her questions.

~Roxie Harper~ The ear pulling must have an instant chill pill effect on Lambert since he is now calm and speaking to her within normal volume for a conversation. Of course, towards the end Roxie could tell that this old lady is someone he cares for, as if she were her own mother. Perhaps it wasn't biological because she can't see any resemblance between the two of them, but nothing is impossible. She is most likely his caretaker of sorts. Now that he is starting to answer the questions she asked him earlier, and to Roxie his answers were intriguing. They were something that she could follow up with opinions of her own, which she had no problem sharing.
"So, is that old lady your mom? If not, your caretaker? It doesn't make a difference to me since you seem to be happy talking about her but I can't help being curious, especially when the two of you don't look alike. You got some interesting hobbies for a guy, although the only one I might understand is boat sailing because I have been on boats before, but they were mainly speed boats for water skiing. The conspiracy theories part got me a bit curious, but not enough for me to ask more about it because I don't want to start laughing and making you feel bad. Um...about the wizards...are you into Dungeons and Dragons or something like that? Not that there's anything wrong with that, its just I don't see you as someone who is into that sort of thing. Also, who is your idol? I doubt I know him because my extensive knowledge is based around celebrity athletes. Hehe, I find it funny that dating is not your thing yet your plan to hide the 'excitement' was for me to pretend to be your girlfriend. I ain't trying to change your views on dating right away, but just because it can be troublesome doesn't mean it won't be worth it when you find someone who make life more enjoyable and thrilling. Unless you want to be alone for the rest of your life, then I think you should keep at it, but I wouldn't suggest sitting on a bench with that invisible trick of yours and waiting for another pretty girl to sit on you. It doesn't work all the time."

Lambert listened to her comments. "Mrs. Chen doesn't really fit either. She isn't legally my mother, nor is she a nanny or anything." He answered. He had never seen her as his mother as well, but never looked down on her to think of her as a caretaker. "She's just someone who raised me since I was little." He added. He didn't know what to say about the woman. "I don't know what Dungeons and Dragons is. I learn about famous Wizards since I'm a wizard too. One day I hope to be like them." He added he was really curious about what this Dungeons and Dragons thing was really about. "I was in thought, that's why I became invisible. It just happens when I don't focus on being solid." He added about the trick. "As for girls, I'll just wait for someone to click with me. If some catches my eye about a girl then I'll ask her to come her hand have a meal with me, but for now I am in no hurry. Once I do fall in love I'd want to start a family right away and I'm sure that would scare most women off, but when I'm in love I'll know it's the right person for sure."

~Roxie Harper~ The way Roxie interprets Lambert's answer about Mrs. Chen being a mother or caretaker makes her see the old lady as a caretaker because she doesn't have the emotional attachment to her like he did. Of course, that is to be expected when you haven't been with a person for so long so what a caretaker is to Roxie is more likely a mother to Lambert. It was strange that he didn't know what Dungeons and Dragons is, but she was not expert on the game itself. The only times she heard of this was in high school, and that was only from the game geeks who played this game on a daily basis. From the times she unintentionally heard them talk about it, the only thing she understood about it is that was a game and it has fantasy elements in it. Speaking of fantasy, Lambert told her that he is a wizard, which is the main reason why he is learning about famous wizards. In a time before Janhall, she would have rolled her eyes and decided to drop the conversation there since the only magic she had experienced were magicians who did all these amazing tricks with smoke and mirrors. It has only been a short amount of time since she has arrived at Janhall, but she has seen things that shouldn't be possible yet they are. Even she has been experiencing changes to her own body that shouldn't be happening since her own athletic abilities seem to have enhanced on their own to levels that shouldn't be possible even with training. The most interesting part of the conversation was his view about dating. Her opinion about him waiting for Mrs. Right had to be addressed, but she isn't sure why she felt the urge to discuss it.
"I don't know so much about Dungeons and Dragons. Its a game and it has things having to do with fantasy. If you ever play the game, don't blame me if you don't like it. Um....I'm not sure if this will get too personal or offensive but I have to say it. You shouldn't wait for the right girl. Well, at least don't sit around for a girl to come to you and say she is the one for you. Heres a thing that most girls won't tell you until you start dating them: they want to be chased. They want to be that treasure that you will seek even if you have to go until the ends of the earth. Even I would like a guy who chase me no matter how far or fast I run. Its okay to want the right girl, but you got to go to her...heh, sorry if I sounded preachy there. Normally I don't do that sort of thing, but with you...its different, and its not because I sat on you."

Lambert listened to the girl. That was one thing that he was sometimes good at. He took in her words. She must not understand a full picture of him, it wasn't like he wouldn't chase after a girl. "I don't expect the girl to land in my lab like you did, but I'm not going to start chasing just because of it. If I meet a girl now, great, if I don't, I still have plenty of years. I'm still under 30 and there is no harm in waiting till I'm at least 24." He pointed out.

~Roxie Harper~ Roxie had to admit that there was some sense with what he said to her about meeting the right girl. Perhaps a mixture of their philosophies would is ideal. Of course, she can't see it that way and maybe its because she is a girl and the one who is suppose to be chased at. Oh well, a feeling inside of her told her that this guy will do just fine if he continued the way he is going so there isn't a need to talk about this anymore. With a grin she replied,
"That's fair enough I suppose. You're going to find Mrs. Right. And whoever she is, I'm sure you will make her happy. unfortunately I'm not ready to settle down. I still got things to do that most guys won't find attractive for a girl. My own fault, but I'll regret it if I don't go through with it...can you just imagine it? Being able to surpass challenges considered beyond human limitations? All the thrilling adventures that exist out there? Its really hard to explain, but I got so much adrenaline in me that most guys can't keep up with me so...I guess I'm just running too fast and reaching distances too far at the moment."

Lambert smiled at her. Girls who had goals were better then the baby maker kind. It showed that the girl could survive without a man to hole onto her, but when the girl was ready she would do that. "No way. Men find it attractive when girls have goals other than baby making. It shows that when we're not around that the girl can still be herself and that when she chooses to fall in love that the man is much more special." The young wizard pointed out. He let his grin shine. "I bet you like sports and stuff. You're body is full of muscle and when you were sitting on me I could tell. You're not fat, but still a little heavy. That means you have to have some muscle on you." The man pointed. That was his guess on what she liked to do and what her goals probably were.

~Roxie Harper~ For someone who she perceived as paranoid dude who grabbed a defenseless girl without a second thought at the boulevard when she sat on what seemed to be an empty spot on a bench, Lambert had a way of making a girl few special with his words. Whoever is going to be that one girl for him will be a lucky one. When he talked about sports and her having a muscular body, she sort of flexed her arms as if a gun show was going to start but then she laughed for a few seconds, which the way she laugh made it clear how much of a tomboy she is since her laugh wasn't entirely feminine. When she stopped laughing, she replied to him,
"Sports is my live. Especially extreme sports. I haven't done everything yet, but I have been many, such as lacrosse, BMX, parkour, gymnastics, volleyball, rock climbing without a safety harness...I guess you see where I'm going with this. I done quite a bit and it shows, although sometimes the muscles turn away a couple of men here and there when they know just how extreme I go."
