Some days the patrols of the Guard was spread quite thin to the point that ********* had to stand guard all by her lonesome kitty-self. She might not have seemed very intimidating at first, but she had a few aces up her figurative sleeve that sometimes left her enemies surprised.
This border in particular had been quiet for quite some time, which meant it was due for some sort of invasion at any point.
It was ********* hopes that it would not be bothered today, but as a single strong chaotic aura began to approach, the manx knew there was a chance she'd have to fight. Her body tensed a bit as she awaited for whatever it was to come across over the hill.

She had been on the sidelines, sitting idly, far longer than she had anticipated. Too long of a break really from her hunts and patrols that it was making the orange haired teenager more agitated than normal. The moment Sailor Hygiea was able to pull away from the Rift, she took it and took the the open streets as swiftly as possible.
It was freeing, almost soothing, to run across the roof tops as the wind picked up her long orange tresses and allowed them to billow behind her. But this wasn't the purpose, never was. And as she traveled through the city, she reached out her senses in an attempt to pick up an aura that seemed interesting.
At first it was turning out as some patrols did, which sucked, with little to no activity from those on the side of Order. All hiding themselves, like cowards.
Until she felt it, her eyes darting towards the direction of a light beacon of hope. Hygiea's lips twisted into a wicked grin as she changed directions, her target acquired (and just on the other side of that hill apparently).
It was feint, in a way. Not as powerful as someone of her level, but it was still there. Order and gleaming, waiting for her to smash it. Perhaps even a chibi, or a new fresh baby senshi who had no idea what they were getting into. Or -
"A cat!" She realized (was there a squeal? Yes, one could say there was). Now it was going to be hard to tell if she was going in for a hug or a punch with the way she was bounding towards ********* class="quote">lizzymoo

********* couldn't really place what she had been expecting to reveal itself as it crossed the hill. However, when the flash of orange hair whipped in the wind, the feline could feel her lungs shrinking up to the size of raisins. It was hard to breathe and it was hard to think. However, it was even more difficult to turn her eyes away as they began to water.
Hygiea?!
The youngest of her girls had been assumed dead, so seeing her in this form brought out a series of emotions in the cat. ********* knew that the Negaverse had gotten a hold of the girl shortly after her father had been slain, but with the history the rest of the team had, the manx had resigned herself to thinking the Senshi of Herbs had been sentenced to death by Labyrinthite himself.
There was an odd sense of relief which almost felt inappropriate with how dire this situation was. Hygiea was a chibi senshi no longer. She was an eternal and could easily overpower the Mauvian. Chaos pulsed through the girl's poor starseed, and the influence of such darkness to her starseed had the ability to warp even the kindest of people.
********* little body trembled.
She didn't even know what to do. What do you even say to someone who might not even remember the life they shared at one point?!
Thoughts didn't process, and eventually her voice, small and pathetic from the lack of oxygen she was allowing to pass through her lungs squeaked out.
"...do... do you still go by Hygiea?..."chirigami Quotes be off, foo! I take it you have them on though? xD

In some ways, what ********* had known was dead. Now replaced by something colder. Someone who could easily scoop up the cat in one fluid motion and slam that small body hard into the wall behind. Without hesitation and little remorse and with a hard look into those familiar deep orange eyes. Changed.
But not completely. Despite being older and a little taller, filling out into a teenager's frame and chaos pulsing through her body; there was still something of the old Hygiea. And that's what kept the Eternal from downright killing the cat. Because she was a cat. And Hygiea still loved cats.
And this one registered with her as she looked it over, still keeping her prey firmly in place. She knew of a small blue-ish cat with a bell and no tail, not personally but still recognized. "Oh, *********." The girl smiled, yet without a familiar tone like she really who the cat was.
"And you know me too, that's cool." Almost a little too happy there as she leaned in towards the cat, almost nose to nose. "Sad that they left you as a guard, pretty kitty. I don't feel anyone else around, or are you doing your super cat little trick and hiding someone?" Though, weren't more cats needed for something like that? She couldn't remember.

Her body had still been too overwhelmed from the shock of Hygiea to really react properly. She could have dodged and avoided being in the corrupt senshi's grip, but instead she remained frozen in spot, making easy prey to the predator.
The manx's thin body was pressed up against concrete as the girl spoke. However, one thing stood out of all the words spoken.
...she remembers my name...?
With the weight loss, she figured it would be hard to recognize her after so many years. The cat didn't struggle against Hygiea's hand, but instead seemed to tremble against her fingers. She didn't cast her eyes away from her girl's eyes as they loomed immediately in front of her, demanding attention.
"...You can check if you want... but I am solo this moment, Hygiea."
There was a pause before she asked in a quieter tone "...do you remember who I am, Hygiea?"

Even with that jovial smile gracing her older features and that little bout of recognition, Hygiea's gloved hand didn't relent its grip around the feline's body. Nor did it pull back any force that held ********* against the wall. It increased even more as the orange clad senshi continued to loom over the small creature.
"Nope... I don't feel anyone. Lame." Clearly sounded disappointed, childishly so, "I don't really wanna fight a cat." The senshi explained as she raised her other hand to lightly catch the cat behind an ear. The motion stopped, however, at the question and Hygiea pulled back slightly, cocking her head a little to the side as she got a better look at what she had caught.
She hummed before she clicked her tongue and replied with a nice curt, "nope!" There would have been a time, maybe when she was first corrupted when she would ask further questions about their relationship. But she had honestly given up on such tasks, chalking up that the past was now the past and she didn't need it anymore. So, ********* never got asked anything further, simply got another smile as she was pulled from the wall finally and held firmly now with two hands and spun slightly.
"I think the real big question is what to do with you ~" Hygiea went on, "hurting you would suck and you said there are no stupid senshi. And I am not letting you go.... hmmmm..."

With how flippantly Hygiea had dismissed the subject of the past, it was clear it was not a subject that the girl cared about even in the slightest. It was miserable to think that this girl no longer thought about her friends, or probably even the family that had managed to get away from the city.
Tears would probably be ineffectual, the cat knew this would be a fact. It would probably be chalked up as the cat being intimidated by the corrupted senshi now holding her in the air.
However, logic could not always stifle emotions, and soon enough the manx's eyes were shedding tears.
I am a failure...
It was a fact that ********* had come to terms with before, but seeing Hygiea in such a condition was putting salt into the wounds. She had failed Iris at one of the most trying times, and she had failed Hygiea. Now, she could truly see how miserable a failure she had become. Corruption was a fate worse than death.
...but she knew your name...
Blinking away a few of the tears that had escaped her, the Mauvian held onto that bit of hope; Somewhere in there, was the real Hygiea.
"...well... you could find me something to eat..."
If her words couldn't reach her, perhaps her actions could. She would apologize to Hvergelmir for breaking her promise, but this was a desperate measure.

Deep orange eyes blinked curiously when she noticed the droplets of tears at the corners of the feline's eyes. She promptly stopped spinning the pair of them around and held ********* just a little closer, mostly as an inspection, "aaw, why ya crying?" She cooed.
"'Cause of food?" Well, since the Mauvian made a suggestion, it just seemed logically that was the explanation. "Should be pretty close to something ~" her face whipped around quickly, taking in the landmarks of the area to get a better sense of where she actually had ended up - she hadn't before, so caught up with finding the cat after all. They were only a few blocks from the non-residential - would be easier to break into a house or something, given her position but that was always boring, besides, there were bound to be a few businesses still open. Especially for those of the Negaverse.
"Hold on ~" Hygiea advised, though she didn't actually release the cat. Just held her to her chest as she took off.
