Once Eunomia had woken up from her assigned rest, Iris went to tend to something close by. Where as Iris, Eunomia, and Psyche seemed to be the main components of this mission, there was another component nearby.
It was not truly a very important role, but the blonde senshi knew that she shouldn't stress out this particular teammate. It made everything more difficult to put him on an active duty.
Ever since Parthenope also had to leave the city as well.
As she sauntered up to the outlying tree a ways away from their actual stakeout, Iris stepped to the side of her teammate. It was absolutely asinine to ask him if he rest well. She knew better than to taunt him in such a manner.
"...You see anything yet?" The blonde firmly placed a hand upon the civilian's shoulder as she peered into his golden eyes.

It had been such a long time since he’d been on active duty that he’d almost forgotten what it was like. The thrill of the chase. The adrenaline rush he got from fighting. All of it was slowly becoming a distant memory. Scouting was just about all he could do and, even then, he knew that there was a shadow of doubt cast upon him. The bags under his eyes were growing steadily darker and his reflexes were becoming less and less reliable.
Superb reflexes or not, it didn't take much to see the figure approaching him. At first, he'd been a bit awkward with having to be watched so closely but it quickly became a necessity. The constant battle of remaining as conscious as possible around others took it's toll when he was alone. All he could think about was sleep. “Nothin’ yet. Seems pretty quiet.” Waylon yawned and rubbed his eyes with a groan, not even bothering to hide his tiredness from Iris. It was a given at that point. “You comin’ to check on me or did somethin’ happen?”

Iris was blunt. She had been even before the war had spiraled into this nightmare.
So Waylon's question was addressed in such a manner.
"Makin' sure yer not asleep. You'll die if ya do that out 'ere..." It was generally a rule that Waylon wasn't allowed to sleep unless he was surrounded by his teammates. However, when he was awake it was safer if there was distance between them.
Powering up wasn't much of an option, which left him defenseless.
She slid her satchel to the side and pulled out the ugly warped root that was native to her asteroid. It was a small piece, but it should have been enough for Waylon.
"...you hungry?"
