West of the city, if you wander past the shadow of the old gym at the western most point, you'll find a long grassy expanse with sparse trees and a rocky terrain. After a while it gives way to a full slate ground, and you reach the cliffs. They tower a good forty meters above the water and are colored a light smoke gray. There is no safe route down, though there have been tales of adventurers who scaled them. There are even more tales of those who failed, falling to the sharp rocks in the ocean below where the waves crash violently. From the top there is an excellent view of the ocean's expanse to the west and north, where Kimchi ends and all you see in the far flat horizon. It is the best place in the Kimchi Region to watch the sunset.

In the day you can hear the calls of seabird Pokémon, the crash of the constant waves, and the wind rushing through the grasses. Though these cliffs are often quiet otherwise, there are a good number of Pokémon that make this place their home, and will attack if disturbed. The cliff's edge alone makes trainers wary, should they choose to train here.

On the cliff edge farthest out, there stands a scorched and splintered tree, roots tangled so deep in the rock that it stands even while hanging precariously over the edge. It is said that when coming to this region from across the sea in another land, this is where Zapdos landed to sleep. The instant its talons touched the tree, it caused the bark to burn as though struck by lightning. Since then, the legendary bird hasn't appeared, but whenever there is a storm, lightning strikes the same spot.

"The human mind is like a parachute...

Taking a hike up the cliffs right after a hearty barbecue lunch might have been the single worst idea that Regal had thought up of since starting his journey as a trainer. He was all kinds of queasy by the time he reached the peak, and it was only through sheer force of will that he managed to keep his lunch inside his stomach. The trip was ultimately worth it though, as the trainer ended up finding both a Blitzle as well an extremely rare Beldum to catch for his Pokédex. Eager to add both Pokémon to his team, Regal sent out Terra and Icarus to battle and got down to business.

"Terra! Use Stone Edge! Icarus, follow up with Gust!"

It was a similar combination to the one he had used in the junkyard yesterday, with Terra shooting out jagged stones from the collar on its neck and Icarus manipulating the winds to propel them into their targets. It was a solid attack, but their opponents typings allowed them to soften up the damage. Eager to strike back, the two rushed forward to engage their opponents, with the Beldum using Take Out and the Blitzle using Flame Charge. Sensing danger, Regal decided to switch tactics and make better using of the terrain, commanding both of his Pokémon to use Sand Attack. The resulting dust storm stopped both opponents in their tracks, but did little to hamper Regals own Pokémon, who he knew both sported the Keen Eye ability. With their targets essentially blinded, the trainer had them follow up with Fire Fang and Faint Attack to bring the duo down for good before tossing Pokéballs at the two of them. He watched the spheres teleport away to Professor Hemlock's and then returned Terra and Icarus to their own capsules before letting out a sigh of relief.

"That's two more for the Pokédex." He said with a grin. "I should give the Professor a call when I get back to town. Hm?"

From nearby, Regal heard what sounded like another Pokémon. But this one sounded like it was in pain. Peeking around the corner, the trainer suppressed a yelp of surprise as he came face to face with a large, lion-esque Pokémon laying on its side. It growled at him in warning, but didn't seem to have the strength to do much more than that. Flipping open his Pokédex, Regal identified it as an electric type called Luxio and decided to take a closer look to determine what the problem was. Before he could do so, however, the problem came to him.

"Hey! Get away from my bounty!"

Turning around, the trainers eyes narrowed in on an older, gruff looking man with a bald head and mean looking eyes. He had a Seviper at his side, and the poison type didn't look much friendlier than its master. Instinctively, Regals hand reached behind for a Pokéball as he responded to he newcomer. It was an effort to keep his voice even.

"What do you mean by bounty?" He inquired.

"I mean that I spotted that Pokémon first." The man snarled. "A big brute like that will fetch a good price to the right buyer, and I'm not letting you walk away with him when I've done all the work!"

"You're a poacher?"

"I'm a businessman!" The man responded, shouting now. "And I'm not letting some self-righteous brat get in the way of my profits! Seviper! Get him!"

"The human mind is like a parachute...

The Seviper launched itself at Regal with its fangs poised to strike, but before it could sink them into the trainers flesh, he released his Charmander to battle it. Furious at the attempt on its trainers life, the salamander Pokémon released a stream of gold and red flames at the snake, causing it to back off to avoid getting scorched. Grateful for Novas speedy entrance, Regal called for his Pokémon to follow up with Ember. While not as powerful as the concentrated Flamethrower, the volley of fire pellets was faster and covered a wider area than the previous attack. They managed to score a few hits, but the Seviper simply shed its burnt scales and went right back to business, lashing out with its bladed tail.

"Push it back with Fire Pledge!"

"I don't think so! Wrap him up, Seviper!"

The snake Pokémon whipped its long body around Nova with lightning speed, and Regal could only watch in horror as the Charmander struggled against the iron-like coils. It could barely breath, which meant that spewing fire was out of the question. Its arms were pinned beneath the snakes body as well, which meant that its claws weren't an option, either. Luckily, the fire Pokémon still had one weapon left at its disposal.

"Use your tail flame, Nova! Use Inferno!"

Summoning the last of its strength, the Chamander focused everything it had into the flame flickering on the end of its tail, causing to explode into a burst of white-blue flames. It was the most powerful attack the fire type had, and at such close range, its opponent was completely enveloped in the sweltering flames. Thoroughly covered in angry burn marks now, the Seviper was forced to release Nova from its grip, and its master cursed out loud as it crumpled under its opponents Dragon Rush attack. Returning the snake to its ball, the poacher gave Regal one last glare before hightailing it away from the cliffs.

"Thanks, partner." Regal said as he pat the Charmanders head. "You really saved my bacon there!"

With the battle now over, the duo turned its attention back to the injured Luxio. It had a nasty gash on its side, and its breathing was heavily labored. Poison, from the looks of it. No doubt from the Seviper the two just fought off. Rummaging through a Berry Pouch, the trainer took out a bright pink Pecha Berry and told Nova to offer it the wounded Pokémon. He didn't figure that it would accept the berry if it came from himself. The Luxio never moved its gaze away from Regal, but it sniffed the berry hesitantly and eventually decided to eat it. Its condition improved immediately upon eating the morsel, but the lion Pokémon was still badly injured. With one last look of what might have been gratitude, it finally passed out, though thankfully it was still breathing. Regal immediately applied first aid using a Potion before taking out the Great Ball he had earned yesterday working on Techmech Street.

"Jarvis, connect my Pokégear to the PC system." He commanded his Porygon. "Have Padlock sent over to Professor Hemlocks lab so that I have a free slot for this guy." The artificial Pokémon went to work immediately, and Regal knew the job was done when he felt his Klefkis Pokéball disappear from his belt. Satisfied, he withdrew Icarus from his ball next, and handed him the shrunken Great Ball which now contained the injured Luxio.

"Get him to Nurse Joy immediately." He instructed the bird Pokémon. "I'll be right behind you."

Grasping the capsule firmly in one of its talons, the Pidgey took off and Regal began to follow suit. As soon as he was at the base of the cliffs, the trainer called the Pokémon Center on his Pokégear and informed Nurse Joy of the situation so that she could prepare for the incoming patient. His earlier fatigue gone, the young man took in his second wind and picked up the pace as he rushed towards the center. He just hoped that the Luxio would be alright...
