Nix City General Store

The General Store here in Nix holds most of the items that a regular Poké Mart would but keeps its name separate because they aren't in the same chain. It sometimes is missing an item or two that you'd find at a regular Poké Mart; however, in other cases, there'll be an item or two that are harder to locate in stores. Watch the stock.

The shopkeeper's name is Archie. Please be nice and say hello when you come in. His daughter, Isabelle, also works in the shop and helps find what the customers are looking for.

"The human mind is like a parachute...

The shopkeeper and his daughter nearly burst into tears as Regal showed up to help out with their storehouse problem. Apparently a wild Pokémon had somehow managed to sneak its way into the building and was wreaking havoc. They didn't want to hurt it of course, but they couldn't afford to have their products damaged, either. Assuring them that he could handle it, the trainer released Terra from his Pokéball and the two of them went off to investigate.

The culprit turned out to be a wild Glameow, and not only was it not very happy to see Regal, but it was absolutely infuriated to see him accompanied by a Rockruff. The cat Pokémon pounced on them immediately, striking Terra with a blindingly fast Fake Out attack before Regal could even call out any commands. The puppy Pokémon instinctively tried to counter with a Bite attack, but only received a Sucker Punch to the jaw for its trouble before its feline opponent leapt away. Not only was their opponent quick on its feet, but the canine Pokémon and its trainer were also limited in their options since they couldn't risk using any big attacks while inside the storehouse.

The duo finally got their chance when their opponent tried put to Terra to sleep with Hypnosis, unaware that the canine Pokémon's Vital Spirit ability made such a thing impossible. The Glameow, confused and caught off guard, was immediately tackled to the ground and Regal seized his chance to seal it in a Pokéball. Wiping the sweat off his brow, the trainer praised Terra on a job well done before his Pokédex started beeping again. Since he wasn't permitted to carry more than six Pokémon at a time, his newly caught Glameow had apparently been transferred to Professor Hemlock back in Blume Town. After making a mental note to himself to check in with the professor later, Regal returned Terra to his ball and went to report in the owner.

Archie and his daughter were very pleased when the trainer told them that he had taken care of the Glameow, and were even happier when he offered to give them a hand cleaning up the mess it had left behind. Between Regal and Isabelle, the storehouse was quickly tidied up and the trainer was even given a coupon for the store for his quick and thorough work. Spying a useful TM out of the corner of his eye, Regal decided to cash his coupon in early and purchased the Dig machine along with some Pokéballs and a Berry Pouch. Delighted with his purchases, the trainer bid the the family goodbye and started making his way back to the Pokémon Center.

"The human mind is like a parachute...

Archie and Isabelle greeted Regal warmly as the trainer stepped into the general store. They were impressed to see that he had won a Gear Badge from Harvey and took great pleasure in letting him know that a few new items were available to him since he now met the qualifications. The biggest change was being able to purchase Great Balls, which would allow him to catch a larger variety of Pokémon as he continued his journey. They were three times as expensive as regular Pokéballs, so Regal limited himself to two of the capsules and loaded up on the standard balls instead.

Since it would be a few days before they reached the next city, he also added a number of cooking ingredients to the purchase. Regal was still pretty new to cooking anything beyond snack food, but he figured that the best way to improve was to practice. It would be significantly cheaper than purchasing premade meals, not to mention that handmaking his teams food would also allow the trainer to ensure that they were all maintaining a healthy and balanced diet. Keeping everyone in top condition was another part of the job, after all.

After paying for the supplies, Regal stepped out of the store and bent down to carefully adjust the settings on his new Running Shoes, which he planned to break in today. While they may not have looked it, the footwear was a top of the line product from the Devon Corporation with some impressive tech built in to enable the wearer to utilize bursts of compressed air for increased running speed. The trainer also took great pleasure at imagining the look on his father's face if he caught his only son wearing one of his competitor's leading products. With that thought bringing a smile to his face, the man took off running towards the forest, a large cloud of dust trailing behind him.
