She had the time to cool down, and in addition to that, she had a few days to get a bit more used to this new place she now called home...

It wasn't easy to get used to. She had a feeling it wouldn't be anytime soon. Between all the morons she was running into (like Cee) and all the weird things (like no spar zones and talking weapons and titans and this seriously wasn't a movie?), it was unsettling. She felt though, for the most part, that she was taking it in stride. So now that she was, it was time to tackle Lex again. With a clear head...well, as clear as it could be now. Having someone else occupy it was also unsettling...but she was also taking that in stride as well.

One good thing about having those different patterns on the coat meant it was easier to track down her brother. The tree represented life, and by asking where she could find that, she had an easier time finding Lex by name. She was directed to the infirmary, where he was apparently working, and Claude couldn't help but sigh. Oh, Lex.

That was also, luckily, easy to find, and thus the sun trainee stood, arms crossed, and waiting. Waiting after she asked for him. Another hunter had been so kind as to say they'd tell him she was here.

Wouldn't he love that.

Lex shot the trainee that had grabbed him the dirtiest of looks, blood flecking his face and hair drenched in sweat. It had been a rough day with a large slew of patients and sparring accidents. The amount of cuts and squirting blood was quite ridiculous.

When he saw that Claudia of all the people on the island to demand his immediate presence, he sighed and removed the purple latex gloves, ignoring the blood on his face for the time being, and the theatrics. He'd had his own time to settle, to make peace with the situation Claude had thrown them in to. He noted her coat, and groaned internally. A Sun. She was a dead woman walking.

"Claudia." Lex greeted, hands in the pockets of his slacks. She'd state why she was here.

"Alexei." She greeted in return, since it was going to be like that with the full name usage and all. She didn't miss the blood on his face, and had done a quick look over to make sure it wasn't his. Since it didn't appear to be, she assumed he must have had some...ah...interesting encounters today.

"Are you...busy right now?" Maybe he just liked having blood on his face. Who knew. Two years was a long time maybe her brother got really whacked out.

Lex's face blipped momentarily at the use of his full name - only Ami and the Doctor did that - before settling back into a neutral smile, which he realized was quite creepy with the blood spatter. He sort of liked this approach. "Infirmary duty, nothing major. I'm no surgeon, after all."

He cleared his throat, considering wiping the blood off now. "Did you need something, Claude?" He offered instead, neutral smile brightening a bit as memories of his younger self reaching for cereal or a cookie for the younger miss Morgan made their way through his head.

"You're too pretty to be a surgeon." Claude dead panned, and then gave a curt nod. "Yes." But she paused again, eyeing the blood on his face still. "When does your shift end?"

The obvious implication of 'I'm taking your time as soon as it's over' was obvious. Claude would also wait as long as she needed to. She had the rest of the day clear. She made sure of it. They were going to talk, and they would bury this stupid hatchet that suddenly sprang up...and she would hopefully wipe that stupid neutral smile off his face. Not in a bad way, of course but...to break this tension.

"Two hours." Lex replied, pulling a new pair of purple latex gloves out of a box nearby and snapping them at the wrists, offering Claude a little wink before waltzing his way back into the rooms of blood and boo boos.

---

Two hours later and with a bloodless face, Lex arrived outside the infirmary, whistling a little tune as he searched for the younger sibling.

There was something in that little playful gesture that gave her...hope. She only nodded her head, and as Lex waltzed away, she checked her her phone, making sure to be back at the infirmary on the dot within two hours. Since she had a timeline, the trainee did leave, killing time doing a whole lot of nothing before she returned. Before coming back, she did make a stop at the cafeteria for a to-go cup of coffee, two, to be exact.

She was waiting outside, holding the two cups, and when Lex walked out, she silently held one out for him, just staring at him for a moment before she finally spoke up.

"Seems you've made a place for yourself here." As evident by....everything she had seen him doing so far.

Claude even remembered to bring him coffee - how sweet. He took the cup gratefully and drank deep, ignoring the heat on his tongue. Blisters were a friend to Lex's mouth. Ah, black and lovely velvet. Coming back to earth and holding the cup by its lid, Lex gave Claude her first genuine smile that faded into more of a grin, then a small smirk. "You still remember how I like it."

His smirk didn't shrink with his patience of the topic she was broaching. He did note, however, she didn't come across hostile - this would be a different sort of discussion. Lex nodded, pointing to a door with his chin to indicate they would be talking outside. No more of the plebeians looking in on their family drama.

The taller Jamil led the girl on a route to a denser part of the rain forest, slecting a dry, clean rock for them to sit on. He breathed in the heavy coffee scent, taking another sip and noting the bitter back of the brew. Whoever did the coffee that morning had made it exceptional.

"It's what happens when you exist in a space for two years." Lex commented, gaze steady on a stick near his feet. "I'd say the place fell around me, but that would be too modest." He'd charmed his way through it all. No big missions, no drama. He was a part of the island, but a non essential. "No one gets to avoid duties, after all."

Yes. This was why she came here. She needed to see that smile again, and where it had gone to. As corny as it was, and it was a thought that was staying in her head. "Duh." Claude replied. Because she was the best sister ever could also be translated from that 'duh'.

She gave a short nod of her head to indicate she understood, and followed him on out. She had to admit she was surprised to be taken into the rain forest, a dense part none the less. Hrm. Maybe Lex was going to kill her. Then bury her body out here. She had a feeling no one would notice or care that she was missing, and Lex would have a peace of mind because he would always know where she was. This thought did bring a small smirk to Claude's own lips before it smoothed out upon reaching a spot. She looked around briefly before she joined her brother on the rock, and took to carefully nursing her own cup of coffee as she listened.

Well, obviously...things fell around him in those two years and...things had fallen apart for her. Claude, thankfully, minded her tongue this time. Going at him with that tone would only provoke another unnecessary and heated argument. She just wanted this. Talking. Nice, calm, and productive communication. "Ah, yes, so I'm figuring out." She murmured in regards to duties. The trainee's eyes lidded as she just held onto her coffee and stared at the surrounded foliage.

"The infirmary though...? How did you end up there? It's like a one-eighty from...you know." College. What his mom had forced him to major in. Not that he needed to follow what his mom made him do, of course, but to be in an infirmary just seemed...so opposite.

Lex chuckle and shook his head, placing a hand on Claude's knee affectionately. She was so very right about the opposite of his former career and college degree - but he enjoyed it. "Well, I've never been too much of a scientist - and there's not a business management side of the island." He laughed, sipping at the coffee again. Mm, cinnamon notes.

There was a spot of silence, a momentary lapse in the conversation. "I enjoy it, oddly enough. Soothing, lets me talk to people without getting too close." Lex smirked, giving his sister a light squeeze on the knee. He was still the same Lex, just with a chillier exterior and a more narrowed focus. Or perhaps a purpose. "Though, I'm more interested in the mind than the body - in a medical context."

Claude's head snapped away from the leaves she had bee idly looking at to instead focus on the hand on her knee. She kept her gaze on it as Lex still talked, and one hand reached up to hover over his for a moment before she patted the back of his hand. After a moment, she just laid her hand over his, and kept it there.

She then looked back up at him, and nodded her head. Understandable. It was easy to see that unless you were a division lead, you did what you were told. "If that's the case, then why play doctor and get rained in blood? If you want to pursue matters of the mind..."

"I need more education." Lex answered her simply, taking a final sip of coffee before returning his gaze to a rock a few yards away from them. "I have dues to pay, as well. I'm still a trainee, an intermediate." He sighed wistfully, moving his gaze to a broken vine hanging from a tree limb. Huh, funny - the perfect metaphor. Lex gave a half smile to the vine, then looked back to Claude.

"You'll have your dues to pay, as well."

"Ah." Claude then shrugged lightly. "I knew that signing up." She said simply, and in favor of learning more about what Lex had been up to these past few years, kept inquiring. "So. A girlfriend, huh?"

That one she was waiting to hear all about.

Ah, of course Claudia wanted to go for the hard questions. Lex removed his hand from their sibling bond moment and ruffled his hair, sighing. "Yes, a girlfriend. A more permanent one than the last... how many were there when I was around. 10? 14?" Lex gave a small shake of his head. What a dumb kid he'd been. "We've been dating for a little under two years now... her name is Ami, very sweet girl."

The man snorted, then chuckled. "Well, she won't come off that way to you - she never comes off that way to anyone. She's an onion, very layered and sharp, stings too." His sigh while explaining the woman was nearing dreamy, much like a school girl thinking about the front man of the latest boy band. "But to me, she's sweet."

Claude was now critical as Lex spoke, taking in this new information and analyzing it. It was a big part protective little sister, and another part just out right curiosity about a girl Lex would want to date on this island. It wasn't Vegas. People didn't just quickly come and go, so if things turned nasty, there was no quickly getting over it. It'd linger, for quite some time, she imagined.

"Ah." Was all she said in response, and looked at him as his sigh bordered on, dare she say, dreamy. Claude just continued to stare at him.

"You're whipped." She finally said.
