There was a lack of certainty, as to what, exactly, had drawn her to this place. It had been comfortable where she had been. She was familiar with her home, and the things around her.

However, news of the city had spread to even the smallest of villages, and Maia found herself guided there. The Acolyte was almost quick to consider it by the grace of her deity... no matter how she quite called it though, she was shocked still, even with all the rumour surrounding it, what the exact state of this place was.

The unicorn had crossed paths with a few audio, and helped them best she could. The place seemed to be in some state of repair, but, at the same time, it seemed as though things were almost ready to fall apart once again. It was strange. Then again, the looks she had gotten threw her as well.

Clearly, unicorns were not all that common in this place. Word of robots hit her ears. Creatures she was unfamiliar with, and did not understand. Technology was strange to her, confusing.

She simply wanted to help people.

So for now, the unicorn made her way through the ruined streets, quiet and watching for anyone in need. If she could lessen the burden and pain of anyone, it would be worth her while having come here.

It was a completely different thing that had drawn Riker here. Helping people was far from his mind, unless of course you meant helping them by relieving them of their prize possessions. Why, then he was QUITE willing to help! He was quite determined to steal just a few things. You know, a few extremely valuable things so Fennic would be proud of him. His tail swished a bit at that thought.

Though it was likely she'd just tell him he'd get a bigger bounty if he bothered offing someone... Eh, can't be perfect!

The state of the City was...well, quite like s**t. At least out here in this area.... Other areas weren't so bad looking, and Riker would likely head that way to steal some more valuables after he got a feel for the place. For now he'd rummage around out here and see if there was anything worth pocketing away. To help, of course.

Up ahead he spotted....well something interesting. And possibly valuable. Shut up that it was another living being, that mattered very little to the wolf Audio.

So without a word he snuck up behind the Unicorn, the grin simply growing on his face as he got closer and closer.

Maia was blissfully oblivious to the other audio that was now, silently, making his way along behind her. Her ignorance on that part would be of great benefit to him, certainly.

Her long, thin tail, swished behind her, staying just above the dirty streets. The click of her boots sounded along the concrete and broken road. There certainly didn't seem to be much movement about on this day. It saddened her that she hadn't come across anyone yet.

Though, on the other hand, she rationalized that it simply indicated, perhaps, there was no one currently in need. It was a hard mental bargain with herself, given the state of the city itself.

Ah well.

Pausing in step, she found herself at a fork in the road. Glancing down both lanes, she quietly murmured to herself, debating whether to go left or right.

Ah, perfect!

Silently he crept up until he was right behind the other Audio. Fingers twitched in anticipation as he thought of just what a bounty he could get. Surely a Unicorn would be worth something! Right!

And well...if not. Maybe Fennic wouldn't mind offing her and he could sell the horn. Yes. This was a good plan.

Without a second thought, Riker reached out, grabbed the Unicorn Audio, and headed off down the right fork. And where was Maia in all this? Why, thrown over his shoulder of course. Like a big old sack of potatoes.

By the time what was happening registered in the audio's mind, Maia found herself awkwardly being held in place over another audio's shoulder. She sort of let herself remain there, for a few moments, locked in a state of shock.

A few minutes passed and the shock finally began to wear off, leaving the unicorn feeling rather displeased with her situation. That long, thin tail of hers suddenly whipped around, trying to smack this uncouth audio in the face.

"Sir! I demand you put me down right this instance!" she snipped unhappily. Or rather, as unhappily as she could. Even with the tone of agitation, her voice had a sing song lilt to it that would make it difficult to take seriously.

A fact that had frustrated her often in the past.

"I promise you, it would be in your best interest!"

"Sweetheart I know what's in my best interest, and it ain't putting ya down."
Oh no no no. How ever would he earn a profit off of that? Nah, the girl was coming with him. To.............well he really didn't know. He hadn't been here all that long, didn't have anything set up just yet.

Well. ....s**t.

He stopped for a moment, pondering which way to go. As the tail whipped at his face he simply bit at it. That'd show her!

Before she could retort, she felt the sharp sting of her captor's teeth sinking into her tail. A short, but high pitched screech, broke the near silence of the area. Gritting her teeth, the unicorn choked back a few tears that welled up in her eyes at the pain.

Why was this audio even taking ahold of her to begin with? She didn't understand. She simply wished to help people!

One hand, seeing as they were not bound, suddenly reached up and grasped the back of his hair, yanking hard. She didn't want to hurt this individual, perhaps he had a good reason for what he was doing.

But she wanted down, and she wanted down now.

"LET. ME. GO!" her voice sung out again as her hand pulled hard, a foot moving to kick at him in time with the motion.

"Nah. Besides you don't sound all that distressed."
In fact, she actually sounded...rather sing songy. Happy? Who knew. Not that he cared if she was happy or not. Nope. Not at all.

That pulling at his hair though? That hurt. So did the kicking. The wolf yelped, quickly turning it into a growl aimed at the other.

"Uh, excuse you. Stop that. NOW."

"Only if you put me down!" The unicorn did her best to try to sound intimidating, though it only fell short once more. However her hand did yank hard on his hair again, despite his growling.

He already had her over his shoulder! Why on earth would she listen to him!?

"In fact, I insist you put me down!" she crooned out, swinging her tail around near his feet, doing her best to trip him up.

This man was just.. just... so very, very, rude!

Riker was doing his best to avoid the tail, and thus far had managed to stay on his feet. That yanking at his hair was getting extremely old very quickly, but the most he could do was continue to growl and try to shift her away from his hair. It wasn't working, but he -still- wasn't going to put his catch down.

Instead, he ducked into a side alley.
"Look. I ain't gonna put you down so you can stop pulling at my hair, kay?"

"I am afraid, sir, that is not exactly giving me much ground to actually remove my fingers from your hair!" in fact, the more he tried to shift her, the harder she gripped at it, letting herself yank and pull at it more.

"I insist you put. Me. Down!" the Acolyte chimed out once more, deeply mourning the fact she couldn't make herself sound more serious about the issue.

"If you do not remove me from your shoulder in the next minute you will regret it, I swear this to you." her voice sung out again, giving one more good, solid yank on his hair.

By this point, her other hand had begun to move elsewhere as her tail continued to bat itself in the direction of his feet. One way or another, her own feet would be on the ground again.

"Well I ain't putting ya down sweetheart, even if you keep yanking at my hair. Which you better -stop- doing before you find yourself missing a limb."

Honestly he really wouldn't rip her limb off or anything...that'd damage her value! But the threat sounded real and he even added a very aggressive sounding snarl at the end to drive home the point.

It was, however, becoming increasingly apparant he wasn't entirely sure what he was doing. Riker hesistated a bit in the alley, looking back and forth as he tried to come up with -some- sort of idea.

While the threat did sound real enough, Maia, despite her lyrical tone, was not one to just let herself be carried off for anyone's benefit! The moment he paused in step, her free hand (the one not yanking on his hair), firmly gripped her mace.

With a quick motion, she moved her arm, attempting to smack the back of one of his knees with the item. Mostly, the unicorn valued all life and made it a case to not bring harm to others, but this gentleman was certainly making it difficult for her to continue along that path!

"I said! Put. Me. Down!"
PostPosted: Fri Aug 29, 2014 7:38 pm

Put her down? Well..he was about to, but he was about to fall right over in the process. As Maia whacked the back of his leg with the mace, Riker let out a yelp and quickly dropped to his knees. His grip on her faltered, allowing the Unicorn to get free if she so wished. And she likely did!

He, however, was going to snarl (and whine a bit) as he hesitantly got back to his feet.

There was a squeak and a bump as Maia tumbled down off of Riker while he hit the ground. Mace rolling off in a random direction away from her, the unicorn found herself in a rather awkward position of herself rolling away a bit. As the other audio got up to his feet once more, Maia was quickly moving to get up herself.

Large eyes scanned the area, looking for her weapon. Her ears perked at the sound of Riker's whining, however, and those same eyes glanced over to look at him. There was a brief moment of guilt embedded in her chest. He hadn't exactly harmed her.

"Are you alright?" she asked, knowing fully well how stupid of a question it was. After all, she had taken a mace to the back of his leg.

Technically it was his fault.
