On Gaia, they always say the best way to get rid of a massive inflation from previous events is to hold another one as a gold-sink in preparation to the actual event itself. Usually an event is so awesome that people cant help but binge a little here and there; the sensation of being part of a great event can excite the hardest of hearts.
These days? There seems to be a lot more "Tactical Circulation" than anything. After recent events with inflations becoming the normal currency (Hearing people say '10000 is the new 100' makes me LOL), it seems that theres been nothing going on around Gaia except for these consistent attempts to bring that gold flow back down to its usual worth.
To me, there used to be something genuine about being able to donate as much gold as you can afford without giving it all away so you can continue doing your own business. But now that we Gaians can buy as much gold as we want, just to give it all to the gold-sink, it seems that this gold-sink idea is a bit counter-intuitive, considering how we buy the gold we need, and then give it all away in grand heaps just to go and buy more and do it all again. Gaia seems to be reaping the rewards for the Gold-Sinks by keeping the circulation of potential deflation tossed in the air. Shrewd business plays I say.
Even so, that doesnt mean we arent rewarded for what we do. All those recolors and all that other stuff I can never remember...yeah theres benefits to having almost every Gaian rich out there.
Ive contributed to these modern-day gold sinks while having 9-10 digit sums of gold, and I feel it is not always rewarding to contribute. Sure you get stuff and achievements, but have you seen that maximum these sinks can take? Pardon my Spanish, but thats a s**t-load of gold!! its digits are so high up there, I dont think anyones ever made a name for that many amount of digits! Its crazy when you think about how much gold is really running around these days.
I do as much contributing as I can until the number is higher than mine, what about you fellow readers? What are your thoughts about the influx of gold-sinks?

I donate a little. Just enough to get the easy achievement though, if there is a low tiered one.
There are names alright. xD...they're just not comprehensible realistic/"normal" every day numbers. No practical applications so you don't hear them unless you look for them in a dictionary/google, and if a number larger than a trillion is written out (on a science/math theory paper or something) generally it's going to be 10^xxth power or whatever because their names get really weird.
