The encampment has yet to have been set-up fully. It’s a mobile base, mainly serving as an area of training and debriefing for new rebels and a place for plans to be made by the heads of the rebellion. It will serve additionally as a guerrilla operations base in the weeks to come, should something turn sour. The many trees in the sanctuary shield most of the moonlight during any given night, making it very dark and eerie within the woods. Many residents are visibly uncomfortable, having heard tale of the ghost stories and horror tales concerning mad highbloods roaming these woods after the tentacled horror’s glub.

Returning rebels are met with relative trust, and are stationed in (relatively) fine tents in the center of the camp. New rebel children are surrounding the camp with their lusii. Children and teens living in OHC are encouraged to move temporarily into the encampment, just in case something were to happen with their hive. The outside ring consists of newly recruiting teens, and the shoddiest tents. Roommates or swapping bunks was purely based upon who could hold down their bunk the longest. The leaders of the rebellion changed tents each day out of precaution. One could never tell where they were at any given time, anyway.

A relative chaos followed the rebels to the woods. The ragtag group consisted of many shady figures from around Old Hemisect who didn’t want the government to meddle in their lives, plans or secrets. As for the rest of the trolls, the veterans from the Mother Grub expedition tended to keep to themselves. There was a certain amount of hostility for newcomers, but it was to be expected in a faction based upon mistrust.

Regardless, there was much to do around the camp. Preparations for a sabotage of the military’s reconstruction plans was underway. The camp needed maintenance, and new recruits needed training.

Preparing for Conflict
The rebellion is gearing up for a conflict, and a huge list of tasks and ways to participate is spread out in the main courtyard each day. It’s expected of trolls to participate. Why else would you be here?

Every day from August 10th to August 27th, you can have your troll choose one of the activities listed below, and write a short post of them completing the activity as well as rolling a d6. You will get points equal to the number rolled, and at the end your troll will be rewarded based on how many points you scored in total for each activity. You can get a maximum of 50 points in one activity. Feel free to roleplay two or more trolls assisting in the same jobs.

If a troll is in possession of an army pin or rebel medallion from the 2012 meta, they receive points that they may distribute into their training in any way they wish.

Apprentice: 5 points
Journeytroll: 10 points
Master: 15 points
Grandmaster: 20 points

Construction
Lifting, moving, planning, analyzing blueprints, logistics, collecting materials

Trolls interested in aiding in construction will begin work around the camp, setting up fortifications and collecting materials to create bases elsewhere in Old Hemisect. Creating and setting up additional equipment is also necessary, and those with technology skills in addition to wit are encouraged to map out the most ideal locations for bases within the city. For those willing to help or learn, some veteran rebels are willing to teach new recruits the ropes – so long as you keep quiet and stay out of their way.

Demolition
Physical deconstruction, preparing explosives, plotting weakpoints, learning about infrastructure, sorting what materials can be salvaged

Demolition-savvy trolls will find that their skills are needed both in camp doing research, and far from camp doing field work. Expeditions are taken out of the immediate area for the sake of visibility and safety, where trolls learn and test various kinds of deconstruction methods. The rebels don’t particularly mind of kids pitch in on the fun, either… Leading to some interesting lusus stand-offs. Posing as construction workers, the rebels have scheduled some Old Hemisect buildings to be destroyed as a test-run, and for gathering salvageable materials.

Recruiting
Local recruiting, long-distance recruiting, reaching out to connections

Recruiting is a necessity for the minority resistance group, at least on a smaller scale. There are plenty of Old Hemisect residents whose hives can be used for bases and waypoints, and plenty that can be committed in other ways to the rebellion. As far as the rest of Alternia, daily shuttles leave from Old Hemisect early each evening – after the long commute, precious hours rallying up more forces in the inner cities may be an invaluable resource, so long as no one takes your bunk in the short span you’re gone. Socially adept trolls may find this a good break from the tedium of the camp.

Intelligence
Analyzing maps and figures, collecting materials from Old Hemisect, spying on the royalists, collecting images or written information detailing royalist actions, infiltration, assisting in planning strategies

Tactical intelligence is absolutely crucial for the rebellion. Perhaps the most dangerous task, but easily crippling to the opposition. Trolls giving good information to the leaders of the rebellion is worth great reward, at a great risk. If you’re found out? Don’t bother coming back. Good luck.

A note on saving posts/reserving rolls: It is fine to roll and reserve a post to fill in the text later. However, you MUST fill in your previously reserved posts before reserving new posts. Rolls will not add onto your total points unless there is RP text accompanying the roll!

Intelligence - collecting images / information (1 pt)

Milieu cautiously approached the director. Or... Whoever was this person. They appeared to be directing, and that was good enough. They barked out orders left and right, pointing this way and that. Information and intelligence. Mili was terrified to reveal her defect to the group still, but if they were going to survive, then everyone needed to pull their weight. No if, ands, or buts about it. Taking a deep breath, she approached.

The director held their head down and motioned her away."Go on kid, go do something. I don't need to direct you." Unable to communicate with a troll that didn't look AT her, Mili stood speechless. Snorting, they continued to motion her away.

Bewildered, Milieu left and decided that going near OHC was a good idea. But without much motivation or ability to ask questions left the troll to get barely anything. She came back with a few scribbled drawings of some trolls.

"What the hell is this?" The director finally looked directly at Mili, glaring. Taking her board, she wrote furiously.

| The best I could do! I need more direction!! | They looked stunned, and then slowly, began to laugh.

"Well kid... I think you can be very useful."

      [+] Kursha Vidari

Activity: Demolition (4)

Things had proceeded much differently than Kursha anticipated. After the speech he had set about exploring the camp. It was not easy. The rebels regarded him and other new recruits with unwarranted hostility. More than once, he caught someone sending a glare his way. Bearing it, Kursha simply grinned at them in return. By the time he reached his tent though, he wanted to grind his teeth in frustration.

Then he noticed the shoddy condition of his tent and his temper worsened. This was the best that they could come up with? It was pathetic. Kursha opened his mouth to make a snippy remark but paused. The Colonel was watching. Suddenly he understood why she had followed him. She was waiting for him to mess up, to show some sign of weakness. She was looking for him to admit he was wrong. Kursha's jaw tightened. He would never give her the satisfaction.

Ignoring the tent for the time being, Kursha made his way to the primary work area. It did not take long for him to find an assignment he liked. With all his recent frustration, demolition seemed like the perfect outlet... Besides, the greenblood thought he spotted some explosives. He had experimented with building his own crude devices back at his hive, but here was a chance to polish his skills.

He searched around for a capable looking candidate. At last he found him, an older, gruff-looking yellowblood, who sat at a lab table, mixing powder into a slurry. After observing the troll for a moment, Kursha approached. “I want to help,” he demanded.

The yellowblood stopped his mixing and turned to regard Kursha. He raised an eyebrow, expression bored. For a long moment, he simply stared. Then he let out a sigh. “Find some other way to help, kid. This isn't a game. Shoo.” With a dismissive wave of his hand, he returned to his work.

Kid’. Kursha swallowed his pride. “I know it's not a game,” he insisted. “And I know my way around gunpowder. Let me help.”

The yellowblood paused. He turned once more to look Kursha up and down. Finally he shrugged. “It's on you.” He scooted over so that Kursha would have a place to sit. “Now, watch me carefully and do as I do. We can't afford any screw-ups...”

Odette is putting all 5 of her novice points into intelligence!

Current activity— Intelligence

The task of gathering intelligence was a difficult one. The other rebels had questioned her "are you sure?" and "can you do this?" And to be honest, Odette wasn't really sure about it either. But she was sure that she didn't want other people endangering themselves when she could at least try. Plus, with her small size and wind manipulation, she could sneak into a lot more situations.

She'd taken on a spying case. The loyalists in this case were having an indoor meeting and Odette had to maneuver her way through the air-cooling tunnels to gather as much information as possible. Everything was going according to plan. In fact, it was almost too easy. Swanmom was following the plan, and the loyalists seemingly had no clue she was there. Until... the dust. Odette didn't have an allergy, at least she didn't think she did. But it was too much to bear. She tried to hold it in she really did but.

"Ah-cheew!"

"Did you hear that? It sounded like a baby clawbeast." One loyalist piped up. "I think it came from the air tunnels!"

She'd try again tomorrow.

It was a bit of a wonder when Vremea felt the urge to get out of the makeshift hive they had made for her. There were four different areas of expertise, and while she wasn't extremely strong(she took pride her lithe figure), she felt a small amount of accomplishment whenever she was to use her charm-- a rightly timed smile along with a convincing statement could easily grab someone in and convince them to join an important cause-- like the Pheonix Initiative. She quickly ran outside, being careful to leave something inside to state that this was HER TENT, and left the dreary area nervously, hoping no one followed her back.

Easily she made her way to the nearby populace, feeling awfully nervous... sure, she was a lowblood as well, but her appearance was awfully overdressy... She huffed a bit and decided that, well, maybe it would benefit her. Trolls liked pretty outfits, right???

      Wrong.

She tried to talk to the other trolls, but most avoided her. She seemed... unapproachable. Vremea felt oddly isolated among her "kin". The only troll she managed to talk to seemed a bit... suspicious of her, so she steered clear. What a failure of a first day.

Stryke Nvrmor | Construction - Collecting Materials

Joining the rebellion had its risks, but the promise of what they had to offer had the troll teen and his lusus leaving the safety of their hive for their campsite. The fear of some sort of damage might be done if he remained in his usual dwellings. Living in fear wasn't his style, it lead Stryke to make a bold decision in forgoing royalist assistance. He'd rather be among the camp of rebels, then off assisting some snobby highbloods. More likely of course was the trolling getting to dictate how he moved things and organized the camp had him entertained. Stryke wanted to contribute to the effort, and did what he could with setting up camp.

Everything was still in the early stages, and gave him plenty of busy work with gathering materials. While he needed training, the teen reasoned in the days to come he would seek out one of the older trolls to perhaps learn from them. Knowledge was valuable, but so was working out excessive energy. While he'd passed the age of his child-like body the yellowblood had always been on the smaller side. Still he mulled about, looking for things to bring back to use for later construction of further bases. He found a particularly well sized bolder that could be used for a variety of purposes. While awkward, he managed to lift it and shuffle back towards the camp to deposit his find.

"jussst..a little more. there, we can use that for the next to act as a brace. or weapon i suppose." His initial s's had been drawn out, making a disgruntled noise as he set the larger rock he'd been porting around down at last. Brushing his hands off, he went to find more materials to bring back. With his lusus close at hand, the pair busied themselves. Even after he'd tired himself out, he reasoned he'd be back tomorrow to find more to do.

Skaeys Fallin - Construction - Material Gathering

Skae had almost literally stumbled upon the camp, having been following the sound of voices and activity in what had been a pretty quiet part of the city. He wasn't sure how he'd missed the sudden growth of civilization except that he'd probably been arms deep in some abandoned thing-a-ma-jigg or another. It was his excuse and he was sticking with it.

Luckily for him though he'd arrived roughly with a small rag-tag bunch of kids that he'd spied before, back in the city. They were as dirty as their Lusii, which was astonishing, considering how nitpicky Taldad was on hygiene. Skae couldn't imagine what the corvus would do if he couldn't get clean enough. No, that was a lie, Skae distinctly remembered an incident- Ow! He flinched and glared at the amused looking corvus. The white beak opened and shut twice with a soft clicking sound and the large feathered head tilted to one side. Snorting Skae waved his hand in a 'Yeah Yeah' motion and started to pay attention again.

There was an adult Troll speaking, tell them about how stuff was going down and yadda yadda. Skae would never admit to zoning out again but he did, and only paid attention again when a potential task list was being gone over. He pounced on gathering materials. He was a pro at finding stuff. His enthusiasm was met with disdain and a stern warning about not goofing off, because if he got caught or stuck, oh well.

He cawed a bit in glee as he was herded off to another Troll who gave him a rundown of things they needed, things they'd like and stuff they could use if brought back. A quick glance back showed Taldad awkwardly shuffling around as he avoided others, before finally just sitting himself down and starting to preen. The harness he wore was carefully shifted around as he worked and Skae was already planning on using Taldad as a means of transportation.

Not that he'd ever tell his dad that he sometimes thought of him that way.

He zoned back in on the Troll who was talking when the tone of voice shifted to disgruntled to 'I'm going to break your face'. "I already have some of this stuff." He peeped, cringing back at the expression on the yellowbloods face. "I- M-my Dad has it in his pouch." Eek! Better go and make himself useful, like yesterday.

Quickly he scampered over to Taldad and started to unload some of the smaller things he'd pilfered that morning, only to watch as it was taken away and picked over. Feeling a bit useless he decided to wander the camp and do a mental layout of the place while he could.

Ganyma immediately knew his strong-suit. His strong... Suit. His body.

He immediately volunteered to help in construction -- none of that reading stuff, though. He'd get to that later when there was less heavy lifting to do. It wasn't that Ganyma wasn't interested in the methodology behind all of this construction business, it just took him a long time to wrap his brain around it. With physical labor he could be useful right away.

Hefting a pile of lumber onto his shoulder, Ganyma looked for direction on where to put it. Following orders was simple and effective, and suited him just fine -- even if he didn't realize it.

[ Rasali / Recruiting: 2 points

Rasali had been blown away by the speech put on by the rebel leader. (Rebel leader!! What a title! What an event! What had Rasali gotten herself into!?) She had been so complacent in her comfortable mid-blood life. Rasali hadn't considered the struggles of those around her.

Well, she had, but like, in movies and stuff. This was real! This was real and she was right here and she had the opportunity to do something about it!

Rasali was a bundle of nerves and unbridled enthusiasm. She spent the better part of the night trying to calm down and be educated on the rebellion. Her lusus refused to let her leave on any self-imposed "recruitment operations" without a proper briefing from someone who actually knew what they were doing.

Today's Activity— Intelligence

Since espionage didn't work out so great the first time, Odette decided to dabble in some different tasks. Such a sweet little face couldn't possibly be snooping around for information, she fell right into the ranks of Old Hemisect City. From the rooftops, she made detailed notes on the drone's patrol patterns. She kept a close eye on the spots seemed to be more well guarded than others. Lastly, she took note of any inhabitants. It wasn't a necessary part of this role but she didn't want them getting caught in the crossfire if they were purposefully uninvolved. She didn't want anymore innocent blood on her hands.

Activity Time - Intelligence! (1 - Total: 2)

"If you can't speak, then you can't relay information to the others." The director smirk was terrifying. Mili worried that being so honest was actually going to endanger her life, "We'll give you a stronger mission then. Good luck, little troll~"

Picking her way through the ruins of OHC, Mili stared at the large blocks of ruined respite block. hmm? There on the corner! A flash of something caught her eye. Dodging a thrown knife, she rolled in the dirt. Damn! Mili ran then, moving as fast as she could.

After some time, the little troll returned to base, having evaded the opposition. She couldn't give much other than for sure information that there were others out there, doing intelligence. The director as surprisingly happy with that result. They knew areas to avoid.

      [+] Kursha Vidari

Activity: Demolition (6)

Kursha returned to the yellowblood the following day. He hated to rely on someone of a lower caste, but it was obvious the older troll knew what he was doing. The yellowblood spared him little more than a glance before scooting over. Kursha sat down, careful to leave a a bit of space between him and his mentor, and dragged some of the supplies closer. He had only been working maybe ten minutes when the yellowblood spoke up.

“You should probably recast your binder.”

Kursha scowled. “I know what I'm doing,” he said tersely.

“Sure.” The older troll rolled his eyes. “That is if you want to create a volatile device that will put everyone else around you at risk. Look at how thin the sides are.” He gave his pupil a long, hard stare. The greenblood fidgeted and then finally met his gaze. “Recast your binder.”

Grumpily, Kursha began to rework the binder as the yellowblood asked. Even though he knew the troll was right, it was still irritating.

Espionage. It was a lot like those spy flicks he enjoyed, though he tried to play it cool, since this was serious business and all, most definitely not a movie. When they had begun recruiting for this job, though, he ate it up in a noticeable way, his shark toothed grin never fading, his energy at peak. It spoke to him in that strange, internal voice he'd been following since he got here. As dangerous as it could be, and he knew it was, this was the direction he thought for sure he had to go tonight.

Unfortunately, despite his claims of strength in sneaking and gathering information, somehow he had ended up shackled to the camp and going over charts with a few other teens that looked somewhat weathered. This wasn't their first time among the rebels, either, that he could tell.

There likely were many things to be gleaned from the papers spread out at their fingertips, important things, notes that would win this battle and take them one step closer to winning the war. As likely as it was, Aprife simply wasn't feeling it. This was not where he'd seen himself when he signed up for this. While he was able to contribute to the strategy as a whole, he certainly wasn't sailing at 100% this time.

This time when Vremea tried, it didn't go as bad. She approached the group, wearing something a little less flashy, and casually dropped the paper on the ground, tripping a little and running away, hiding behind something as she watched some of those from the group walk over, see the flyers, and tuck it in their backpockets. Vremea let out a silent 'YES!' and gave a small fist pump before scuttling away to her duties.
