Zirconia had decided her encyclopaedia was coming along nicely. A small, self congratulatory thought as the Mauvian sat on the picnic table top and file her nails.
It had become routine to just sit here, in her energy leaking cat lady form, projecting her huge liability of an aura and wait. Trouble usually showed up, but more often than not she got new recruits who didn't remember the parallels, and didn't remember her court. Confused and easily manipulated newbies in all factions.
She liked them the best, they were usually the most willing to spill secrets.
Her fascination with Chaos was a modern development only occurring in the last year, but she was greedy and eager to be able to write their names in her book. Mess with their heads. With no combat ability of her own and the Blood Moon Court long disbanded, it was all she really had at her disposal when it came to messing with the landscape.
She kept knights as charges these days, but she didn't like keeping anyone around when she sat out here fishing. It was easier to lie about things when you didn't have to keep your story straight with another party.
Chaos was on her mind tonight. Negaverse names in her index were a new novelty and her recent discoveries with Dark Mirror starseeds could be furthered by either Chaos faction. But instead, she was hit with an order aura, and a big one. Bigger than hers. Her self manicure to pass the time came to a sudden halt. "Hello?"

If Zirconia was fishing, what she'd managed to catch was likely much larger than what she'd intended. He remembered her well enough from the brief and rather heated 'discussion' in the surrounding, though now, things had changed. He had changed. "So-" He smiled, though mirth was nowhere in his grin. "What's new p***y cat?" His hair near white, was a sharp accent change since he'd last seen her, though this time, he was older, and by far showed that the man he'd been had long died and left someone else in his place. "Zirconia of the Black moon. More of your senshi are running around corrupt. Can't imagine it being too fun." He kept his sights on her, wondering. "Which brings up the question of why I don't see you running around with them."

The prince coming into view caused absolutely every movement in the cat-lady to freeze. And for a second she just stared, even dropping her nail file.
It was like someone pressed a button and all movement snapped back in at fast forward. She didn't know what to do with her hands and even up grabbing the ribbons that when over her shoulder to line the purple overlay of her dress.
"Holy s**t, you're alive!"
Contrasting their previous interaction to the core. The mirth was out of Castor and Zirconia proper, the uptight and old soul, had been overtaken by her civilian host some years back resulting in much more immature and vibrant mannerisms and speech patterns.
"I thought for sure you were boned, holy s**t. ********. What. Aah!" She hopped up to her feet, might've closed the distance between then, but then she froze and her eyes lidded into something resembling total unamusement. "Ah, no," She held up one hand and pointed.
"I had ten senshi. With Ares gone and Gaia MIA, there's none of them running around here. If you mean the Dark Mirror, I got news for you, buddy," She was clearly offended by the comparison, but to be able to have something in her arsenal, some research and discovery to fling around about the mysterious court, the corners of her mouth twitched in a not quite happy grin. "They're more your senshi then mine."
But she didn't hold the stance for long and her arms went slack at her sides as she stared. "Holy s**t, you're like. You're here."

He shrugged. "Sadly alive as they would put it. Three years almost since I left- can't imagine when they realize I'm back that the general-kings will be thrilled." He smiled as she explained to him about her senshi, though it was cold. "That makes it easier then." He moved casually going so far as to sit on the table, looking out and motioning for her to join him. "You're free to take feline form. The less disturbances we have the better." "It does beg why you've stuck around- can't imagine it's because you want to necessarily. But yes, I am alive and here in Destiny City again. Though depending how you look at it, for better or worse."

"I'm sure they're rioting in the streets," The Mauvian said, maintaining her grin. She did flinch when he moved past and sat on the table she was just planted on herself, and then looked around.
As if just to be difficult she shifted to her civilian form instead, trading the overlay and dress for worn jeans, and then plopped right next to him.
"Easier to what?" She asked, "Still think I'm a traitor?"
He had apologized, sort of, but their loudest interaction had still been at the Surrounding and she remembered it more vibrantly than the aftermath.
"Got no where else to go," She said, stretching her arms over her head before using them to lean on the table. "Chaos seems like certain death the more I look into Ares' play-dolls and besides... I've taken a liking to knights. The parallel court is dead, the BMC is disbanded... I'm a guardian. Gotta keep my time occupied somehow. Knights use old magic, it's less of a mystery to me than White Moon senshi."
She glanced him over, the stark changes finally registering in her brain past just 'IT'S CASTOR!!' and the corners of her mouth stretched to an awkward line. "For better or worse? Jesus ********, man, where have you been?"

He laughed, picturing a few choice, and likely dead, faces of the negaverse throwing a fit over him being alive and returning. He did hope his return would piss people off. Get them angry. Anger could unhinge and leave them vulnerable. "No- Easier knowing that with the Mirrors out of the way there will be ones less 'player' on the field to worry about." He sighed when she chose civilian form however. Her risk, not his. Lifting up a lock of white hair he smiled, letting fall back into place. " Home. Apparently an over exposure to magic can have some slightly altering changes to one's looks- easy enough to cover as a civilian though, just a tad expensive." Drumming his fingers on the table he mulled over the best way to explain. "So as far as you consider them, those dark senshi are our own- which is fair if unfortunate. It means that I'll probably have to deal with them on the battlefield. As for better or worse...." He looked at her in the eye. "In roughly a month I plan to declare war on Earth- so depending on how you view that, it might be better than I never have have returned, or good given just how terrible the city has become."

"I consider them lots of things. I've been researching. I've found some s**t. But all of it mostly points to 'don't drink the kool-aid'," She quipped and her thoughts landed on the mutated starseed she kept in subspace, trying not to vibrate in excitement over her morbid little collection.
"Oh, seriously?" Her head tilted and she inspected his hair with off mannerisms that showed the Mauvian side was not entirely dormant, even in fully human form. "I thought it was a style change. Whoa."
She halted silly hair inspections when he looked her in the eye. He was being serious, which was entirely off and unsettling when her brain subconsciously tried to reconcile him here in front of her with the memory of him before.
"Wait like earth-earth? All of earth? Not just the Chaosy bits? What? Why?"

She'd gotten certainly lighter of her tone, yet also rather grim. Don't drink the kool-aid indeed. He didn't mind the inspection of his hair, after all, it was curious and somewhat fascinating to him as well some days. His gaze remained stead however, as they discussed what the future would bring. "More the Chaos-y bits as you call them. As for why? I would think it obvious. In three years, senshi should have at least kept the balance, they should have maintained their force and pushed back. But when I return what do I find? Corruption, senshi afraid to fight or who perhaps refuse to fight, others under their foolish illusions that we might save the corrupt as we like, that we might purify those who have turned their backs on us. Knights? A joke almost. Order has fallen." His anger laced his words. "No one is willing to do what is necessary to win this war- and those that do are few and far between. Chaos will kill us if we do not make gains- If we die and fail earth, our worlds, our people, our legacies will be consumed." He fist breifly clenched. "I have seen enough of my failed legacy that I refuse to leave behind another."

Zirconia's tone was more than lighter. She was relegated to a subconscious cluster of desires, a file of memories. The twenty something college drop out she'd taken as her host in this dimension was apparently calling the shots.
The old cat would've been mortified by the demeanor of this exchange if she wasn't dormant.
Especially when, where she would've nodded a bit in solidarity at the White Moon's seeming incompetence at war, Zee just erupted a long, sustained and extremely unattractive snort.
"Order hasn't fallen, you drama queen," She said as she rolled her shoulders with a laugh, "It's just sort of... limping around, belligerently confused," She leaned on one arm and rested the side of her head on her shoulder while the other wrist flicked her hand, this way and that. It was hard, really, too find too much fault when she thought the idea of being able to purify everyone was naive, but she had seen what purification could do. When sometimes Luxor's bloody revenge quest seemed absolutely logical and justified and then she wondered if that was just because she was stupidly infatuated with that particular knight.
Mostly where Zirconia had been willing to stomp her feet into the ground and stand by the Blood Moon Court's bloody ideals, Zee was just an uncertain twenty something on the fence about her ideals and sometimes wondered if she had any ideals or morals. She just wanted the next paradigm shift. Which he might cause, if he tore a big enough, bloody swathe through things.
"Well it's definitely one way to go about things, so long as you watch your step," How many Blood Moon Court members had fallen to corruption now? Or fled the city? Someone wiser would take this opportunity to discourage history from repeating itself.
Which was not Zee. "Think you'll make a dent?"

Castor smiled at the title of drama queen. Oh he was one for dramatics, he knew it. "Limping around- alright so it's just before it's fallen and it can't get up." There was still a bit of that joker and jester in him, just subdued. "Watching my step is sort of.. what this is. I've informed Chronos of my plans, a few other senshi. You're a bit of the odd one out for the parallels bit, still a courtesy. I have little patience for those who would defend chaos, but I'm not going to go out seeking to kill those who do not share my views and force them to acquiesce or die." He waved his hand in the air. "War is bloody, cruel, and deadly. Peace and purification is a naive way to think we might win or cause a dent. 'The universe will balance itself' as once was told to me... But we have the power to give it a hand, without waiting over a thousand years. I don't think I'll be making a dent Zirconia." He got off the table, cracking his neck. "I know I will. I have to believe that, because if I don't believe in me who else will?"

Zia tilted her head back for her lazy cackle at his response.
"I guess my basic question is do you plan to be their Life Alert or give'em the final shove?"
She had stopped feeling camaraderie with the order factions almost as soon as she'd started out of necessity. There were knights she considered her charges in lieu of Blood Moon senshi, but they were hers and not mentally ascribed to other loyalties, whether that was realistically true or not. Typical cat.
"Ah, well," She shrugged, "Then as the last parallel left hobbling around, good luck. Thanks for the heads up. Please don't make me extinct?"
She pursed her lips and scrunched them to the side as she listened. War was bloody. Zirconia was always quick to remind anyone that questioned the torture techniques she advocated. Zia agreed, to an extent. War was hell, and someone had to be willing to do the dirty work. There were some individuals she gave in to the instinct to coddle, and had decidedly sworn not to encourage towards dirty work, though. And purification... that was a touchy subject.
She decided not to comment on either and zoned in on something else, "The universe will balance itself? That is bullshit." She sat up, but instead of following him to a standing position, she leaned her elbows on her knees and fished a battered carton of cigarettes from her pocket, fiddling with them as she spoke. "Zirconia is one old broad. At least a hundred years, I don't know. Her memories are all kind of jumbled. But I do know that she lived in peacetime, the closest thing you could get to it, and things still went to s**t. The only constant is war, it always is. Her memories start with war, they end with war, and ********, we're right here now in another dumb war. The universe isn't ever going to do anything for itself."
She fumbled around with it a bit before she started fishing for a lighter.
"This war, though? It's stagnate, it has been for a while. Good or bad, it needs a serious paradigm shift. If you think you can do that, then go for it, kiddo. Follow your dreams," The sentiment was followed up with a smarmy wink in his direction.
"Let me know if you need anything? I've broken some uh... interesting findings on the Dark Mirror."

"The shove." He brushed his hair back, ruffling it. "I don't plan to coddle them. They've been babied long enough." A final dusting of his buttwings and- "I'll take you up on the offer sometime for mirror s**t. Buy you a drink even, considering we'll likely need it...or take you to Castor maybe- There are some decent fish up there." He winked right back at her. "How's that sound? We can make it a date even." He was grinning. Slightly serious. Just slightly.

"Excellent! I prefer single malt Scotch, and nothing too cheap," She had been brought gifts and bribes on several occasions for information. Realgar changed the treat game when he brought sandwiches and tacos to their meetings, and then Thraen upped the ante with expensive liquor. The half guardian was apparently spoiled in her expectations.
"I'm am definitely too old for you, kiddo, but please do hit me up sometime. I've got some cool tricks to show you and I'd love to put Castor on my archaeology list," She held up the stone pendant artifact she had stolen from her brother's knight wonder from her neck to draw attention to it as if she needed proof of this established interest in travel. The large necklace piece usually covered the branding on her collarbone from her BMC days of yore, but it was allowed to fall back in place soon enough.
She mirrored his grin and gave him an enthusiastic wave off. "Go forth and follow your dreams, Warmonger."
