"Come one and all for a festival that happens every ten years at the human village! For three days the Joyful spirit Hanalli will grace the village and shower us with the very power of happiness and joy! All beings are welcomed to join us for this joyous event!"

The Joyful Festival is a gathering every ten years to be happy and merry. Drinking and eating till you drop and having fun with your companions! On the first day, Hanalli will descend from her roaming trip of Gensokyo and speak of the wonderful sights she beheld unlike before! On the final she departs and flies off until she returns for another ten years. It was a promise made to Keine to thank her for being the first new friend in Gensokyo. As such, it was always on schedule...but this year, something was not right...

The day of the festival, Nahumar and Sorina inspected the main stage where Hanalli would land and present herself. With the humans working to get everything ready by the time she would arrive, it proved to be a hectic start. "Nahumar. This is going to be an exciting day." Sorina said. Nahumar was helping with the sign with his tendons. "It will. Hanalli is going to enjoy it all-" yet he stopped talking as he noticed a crowd of children hurrying between them to the stage with bundles of various yellow colored plant life, yet no sunflowers. "Yuuka would have a fit if she saw so many flowers being offered as a snack for Hanalli..." Sorina reminded Nahumar. "No kidding. Hanalli has never tasted a Sunflower in her life and it may stay that way."
It would be some time before Hanalli would arrive, but from the look of the group of people, they were patient enough.

Meanwhile, a woman wearing a robe and concealing her oddly tattooed face from the rest walked around the village. Mumbling to herself as if going mad, yet keeping herself away as much as possible...waiting for someone.

In strode a rather amazingly tall Oni, horns slick and long, he looked to be the bare essence of power intimidating to say the least, however on his face there was a great smile and over his shoulder was several barrels of sake, under his left arm was a large chest filled with various toys and jewelry, however strangest of all was that despite his hulking form and parent wealth shown in conjunction with his generous gifts no one under the age of 90 knew who he was and for those who were of age most did not recognize him anyway.
"....hello...I do not quite know the reason for the festival....and do not often associate myself with humans...but I do wish to take part and have an excuse to drink and be merry"

Despite the lack of humans around the main stage, Nahumar didn't seem to be too threatening with his tendons retracting back after setting the hard to place portions. He turned around to see an Oni. Sorina gently bowed to him with the most warm expression imaginable. "You do not need to ask to join. Hanalli would be just glad to know more people in this land would love to be happy and then some for years to come." Yet with a new face around, Nahumar explained. "This little Festival-"
"Is to celebrate a friendship bond between a powerful being known as Hanalli and some kind of human. Her very energy radiates with the sense of joy. Years ago when she first arrived the little ball of light was saved by a certain person in the village. Over time she made friends with the orb and when the Orb gained enough energy, Hanalli thanked her for being her friend. As a promise, Hanalli told the friend that every ten years she would return to the village for the same three days she spent to give her blessing of joy and happiness for the year. Entry is free and so is the food and drinks in supply."
Until Yukari interrupted Nahumar and stole his lines. Nahumar glared up at the Gap Youkai, hanging from the empty hole in space. "...that." but she chuckled, "I just came by to drop this off for Sorina." Yukari dropped a strange pouch into Sorina's hands before vanishing.

"A-anyways, where are my manners? I am Nahumar, the Youkai of Fear. That is my sister, Sorina. The Youkai of Sorrow. Hanalli is our eldest sister." Nahumar stood there as Sorina peered into the pouch, keeping the contents hidden.

The group of kids from earlier started to run past the group again after leaving a nice pile of various yellow flowers.Almost like a pile of gold.
"I wonder if Hanalli is alright?"

Shen looked almost disappointed to see Yukari come and leave
".....she didn't recognize me....after all I did for her....oh well..."
he smirked and gave a soft sigh
"...I will visit her later...I am Shen...the brewmaster smith and forger of the masterworks....it is good to meet you Nahumar...I have been away for a great amount of time...so a lot of this.....human and youkai peace is a bit new to me..."
PostPosted: Fri Aug 15, 2014 8:49 pm

"It's not really peace but more of a neutrality. The Youkai do not come until much later since it's mostly humans here for the time." Nahumar continued to speak while Sorina sat on the stage gently with the kids waiting patiently. Even one small child sitting on top of Nintai. Nahumar fixed his attire, hiding the pure shadow underneath it all from the neck down. "You have plenty of time to look around but be sure to behave. Oh and if you wish to do so, offer a yellow or gold colored plant as an offering for Hanalli. It's her favorite food." Nahumar said, walking past Shen as the small aura of fear gently grazed his shoulder. Not to scare but on accident. Following close behind were two small human looking children with cat tails and eyes. They looked similar in look and size minus the clothing that mirrored each other as male and female.

"Sorina. Mind telling us that story?" A young human child asked. Sorina could hear the kids begging to hear it. She eased her kimono to look like flowing water as her hair moved from her eyes. "Alright. This is the story of Hanalli. I do not know if many of you have seen her yet but the being of Joy is a wonderful person. She travels the land, spreading kindness to all she sees. Her famous Joy Buns are said to taste just like your favorite food or whatever you are craving at the time..." Sorina told a story to try and bring more attention to the stage for the young ones. The way she spoke and looked you could of sworn she was the mother of all these kids. Yet one strange oddity from way in the back was a hooded figure of a woman. Eyeing the stage as if anticipating something. Her aura was definitely not inviting... unapproachable.

Shen noted the rather larger population of youkai and still he was amazed at how the two groups of humans and non humans were not still trying to kill eachother, or even that there were still humans here, a thousand years ago he and yukari both had killed more humans per a battle than they could count not to mention all the others out there laying waste to the hunters. with a smile on his face he sat cross legged with the children listening to the story noting the not so kind looking woman.

At the place of the so mentioned festival, a peculiar Youkai arrived, like most of the humans and other beings there, she wanted to have fun - "I wonder if i can get something for my friend once it starts" - Said to herself, she noticed that a group of Youkai were together, like getting to know each other, so she aproached only to greet them - "Hello there!" - said with a wide smile.

Nahumar caught wind of the newcomer. "Hello to you as well. If you have come for the festival then you are on time. Soon, Hanalli will come down and the festival can truly begin." he passed his smile as he continued to walk around. Yet feeling something was odd.

Sorina took the time to examine the people around her. "I know some of you are impatient but please hold on a bit longer. Hanalli is one to reward the patient as well." she continued to stall as her expression was clear that indeed...something was wrong.
"Where is Hanalli?"
"Where is Hanalli?"

"Hmm ... riiiiight ..." - The Youkai, not very convinced, listened to the other two - "So! My name's Hikari, nice to meet you!" - She presented herself as she was fixing her frost blue hair.

Walking into the festival, Byakuren looked at the sights around her with a warm smile. She was excited to see the little happy youkai once again, it felt like it had been a while since she last saw her. Much like Hanalli, this festival was all about fun and happiness (shocker). The monk had brought a lovely yellow lotus for Hanalli. She had the flower wrapped gently in a small cloth, holding the parcel in cupped hands.

As Byakuren walked, she caught sight of Sorina talking to a group of people near her, she seemed to have her hands full at the moment. She then caught sight of Nahumar, who seemed to just be walking around. "Nahumar!" The monk called out to the man before she began to make her way towards him. "Nahumar, it's nice to see you!" The monk called out as she came closer to the youkai of fear.

Nahumar bowed to Hikari. "It's a pleasure to meet you then Hikari. I am Nahumar. The person sitting over there is Sorina." as he was going to say more, the voice of Byakuren rang in his ears. He turned with a small frightened look on his face yet held it in. "Hey Byakuren...H-how's everything?" he was nervous to ask, obviously still unsure when her energy might start to burst out more.

He noticed the little cloth and assumed it was for Hanalli. "I see you got something for her as well. If you wish you can leave it with the others on the stage-"
"I see something coming!" a human called out, pointing to the sky. Sure enough there was something heading their way. Sorina looked up along with the rest yet there was something wrong in her eyes. Nahumar's eyes widen with horror of his own and almost as if a meteor came down, Sorina caught what came down as it broke a hole in the main stage in a circle. "Sorina!"
Nahumar ran as fast as he could, nearly pushing some humans out of the way to see Sorina looking up at him. "This could explain Hanalli's tardiness..." She said in a low tone. Hanalli's body was looking a bit grey in tone and dim. She was moving but very weakly. No sign of major injury but the sense of being drained of her energy.
"I made it..." she forced a little laugh out of her. Even when she was shown to the others, she sat there with a smile still despite her discolored image. "Sorry i'm a little late."

The odd woman in the robe slowly walked off, seeing the crowd coming together and hiding her face for the time. "I'll come back later..."

Hikari watched the dim coloured goddess, she didn't knew how to react except to think a way to help, then she felt like another prescense leaving the place yet didn't know who or what it was, but there's only one thing that the Dream Eater was sure about ... and it was that this succession had a culprit.

"We must look who or what did this to her ..." - she said to Nahumar and Sorina as she watched them with the most serious expression in her face.
PostPosted: Tue Sep 02, 2014 9:39 pm

Nahumar greeted Byakuren back and asked her how she was. "Everything has been quite good, Nahumar, thank you." Byakuren said, smiling. She had never really had a chance to properly be around Nahumar, so what she knew of him was what Hanalli had told her. He recognized Byakuren's parcel as a gift for Hanalli and began to tell her that she could leave it on the stage for Hanalli, but was cut off when someone shouted that they saw something. Something fell from the sky, Sorina catching it on stage. Byakuren saw that Nahumar looked horrified, running to Sorina. Byakuren followed after him as well.

Byakuren gasped at the sight of Hanalli. She looked not of her usual self. "W-what has happened?" Byakuren asked, mostly to the two other emotion youkai. Byakuren was deeply concerned for her friend, but she did not know what sort of help she could provide to her. Mamizou was more an expert on youkai that she. The monk's grip on her flower tightened a little, but not enough to damage the delicate gift.

Hanalli sat on the edge of the stage, noticing the crowd worrying about her and asking so many questions. "I'm fine...just a bit tired is all...Nothing to worry about." she tried to calm the crowd but noticing Byakuren she had to come clean. After all, no way was lying the good option towards someone like her. "While on my way here, I went out of my way to visit that Youkai with the brilliant Sunflowers. I only stopped for a moment, had a fun exchange of spell cards, talked for a while and...well then I started to feel drained." she said in a weak tone. Her expression unwavering.

Nahumar and Sorina seem to of gravitated close to Hanalli to protect her. The two wondered why it happened... "It's far too early for your recharge cycle Hanalli. This is not normal." Sorina showed her concern. Nahumar looked to Hikari to assure her "There is no point. Already I feel an increase of fear building in many's hearts. If it grows into Anger then only more pain will be caused." keeping an eye out himself. Hanalli however gently went to grab one of the flowers to nibble on. For a being like her, she seems and looks so defenseless with that small child like body. "Do not let my current condition affect the festival. I want everyone to stay happy." Hanalli ended up slumping on Sorina's body to sleep. Nahumar took this chance to stand up. "Stay with Hanalli, Sorina." he commanded and slipped into the shadows to try and contact his parasites out of the gates.

"Sorry for the scare everyone! Please enjoy the festival as intended. Hanalli will enjoy all your offerings in time!" Sorina tried taking charge of the situation, whom was never good at leading like Nahumar. All she could do for the moment was hold Hanalli close. When the majority of the crowd dispersed finally, Sorina decided to think clearly about it. "If someone did do this, then they would either have to be using no spell cards at all or they know her weakness...yet the story makes no sense. She was with the Flower Youkai and headed straight here...And I doubt that Youkai would do harm to Hanalli if she behaved like before."

All while it happened, the hooded figure watched from afar. keeping her tone low. "This is not good at all...our one chance to strike and she is guarded." "Oh don't be a coward. Know that you should indulge in the knowledge that you managed to weaken her. Be proud of that feat and let it feed into me...The hard part is over after all." It was hard to tell from afar but the woman under the hood had some very strange green tattoos.
