After the events of the Hellsing Ordeal in the late 90’s and the culmination of Agents Mulder and Scully’s involvement with the X-Files the U.S. government determined that it was sorely lacking any defense organization to be focused on the occult. This represented a serious threat to national security. As such the decision to form FBI: Black Division was formed. Black Division was tasked with not only processing X-Files but also actively dealing with defense against all things supernatural. On the whole the events of Hellsing were fairly well covered up as the work of terrorists. As such Black Division does not officially exist and its existence is heavily guarded.
Requiring agents of peculiar skill were a must and so the division began to acquire files on anyone with the required skills; things like ESP, kinesis, high intelligence, and of course non-human beings. The biggest prize of which was a vampire of their own. In typical U.S. government fashion Black Division used information illegally obtained from the Hellsing Organization to capture the vampire Carmilla for themselves. This action highly displeased Integra Hellsing and put Black Division – Hellsing Organization relations on ice. Despite this the U.S. had just acquired itself a vampire of similar age to the now (occult agency) infamous Alucard.
Still very understaffed Black Division is still seeking new agents while it expands its operations. In a post 9/11 United States secrecy is easy and jurisdiction is meaningless.
