Sawyer Mason Sawyer felt the sun toasting his back as his picked his way through the field of golden grass. It was so tall that it brushed past his knees, even, and poor Milly was completely hidden by the wheat. He could hear her "clucking" along though, as the bird very rarely wandered far from him. Probably because she'd be someones snack if she were ever to be out of his sight, poor thing. Taith Taith had intended to take a break from flying to seek out a snack and from up above the golden grass seemed to be just the thing. He descended, swooping around once before he was able to find a seemingly safe spot to land. Unfortunately for poor Milly said spot was very nearly on top of her! The clucking caught him by surprise, causing the stallion to stumble a bit but at least it saved her from being stepped on. Sawyer Mason "Hey! Watch it!" Sawyer yelled over the sound of a panicking Milly, ("BUCKACOCK,BUCK-BUCK-BUCOCK!") completely taken off guard by the stallion. He hadn't seen a shadow or heard his wings, probably due to being so immersed in his own thoughts. Milly ran about (as well she could in the tall grasses), her wings flapping fruitlessly. "Watch where you land, why don't cha?" Sawyer tried to usher the bird to stay still, but she ignored him, apparently thinking her life was still in peril. He sighed and rolled his eyes, giving up to look at the stallion more closely. ("BUCKACOCK,BUCK-BUCK-BUCOCK!") Taith "Woah!" At least Taith finally caught sight of the source of the noise so there would be no real need to worry about further injury to her. It was a bird to be sure but that was probably one of the strangest birds he had come across. And it seemed the strange little bird had a friend - something else he had not seen from up above. "Accident. Sorry." Despite the curtness of it he was sincere. "Won't happen again." He watched the bird a little longer, snorted and shook his head. "Jumpy little thing." Though she had a right to be in this situation. If he were that small he would probably be doing much the same thing. Sawyer Mason Sawyer (gently) knocked the bird over the next time she ran close to his hoof, to which she flumped over as if fainted. Finally, able to speak properly, Sawyer smiled a half smile at the stallion. "Nah, she's fine. Dizzy thing; most of the time fearless of things she ought to fear and has a conniption over much of nothin'." The bird "buckacocked" at him, as if responding to something he said, but otherwise laid motionless in the weeds. "Pardin my manners. Name's Sawyer. Sawyer Mason. Whats-yir name, Stranger?" Quote: He snorted to hide a chuckle when the bird seemed to answer the other stallion. It really was marvellous comedic timing. At least now she had been toppled and stopped and would be able to calm down. "Taith. Just Taith." No fancy second name here since he had never seen the need for one. If someone couldn't remember him from just that alone that was their problem, not his. "I'm not trespassing am I?" There had not been any signs of life for miles except for the occasional critter so he kind of doubted it. Quote: Sawyer grinned at the idea of owning territory, shaking his head. "Nah, nah, none of that fer me. I just wander, most the time. Nice to meet ya, Taith. Sorry 'bout her." He bobbed his head down towards the chicken, who again bucocked at him. He ignored her "sassin'" and motioned at the stallion's antlers. "Nice horns you got. Could do some real damage if they needed too." He grinned, wishing he had a pair. All he got was feathers and scardy-cat chicken. Taith "Nice to meet you as well." Sawyer seemed to be one for formalities so he responded in kind. No reason to tick of anyone he had just met. As to the horns... "They could, yeah. Haven't had much occasion to use them though." Which might have been somewhat surprising had Sawyer known him better. Taith managed to get himself into enough trouble on occasion but rarely did it devolve to the point of fighting. He would rather show someone up in other ways if given the choice. Sawyer Mason He laughed/snorted, "Really? No 'fence but you look like the guy to tumble. Where were you headed to if ya don't mind my askin?" Milly had recovered from her trauma and was back up and tottering around, her blank stare unblinking as she made her way for the unfamiliar stallion. Either seeking vengeance, or simply stilled dazed and confused, she went to pecking at his shins, determinedly. "Feel free to give her a kick. She's a tough ole gal," he said with a grin.

Taith "I do on occasion. Though there are far more interesting ways to settle scores." He kept a watchful on the bird now that she was up and tottering around again. "Nowhere in particular at present, just felt like going for a fly. I had intended to stop for food, hence the near squashing of your little friend there." When Milly did go for his shins he gave her a slightly less than gentle 'nudge' with his hoof. ((Just adding my last post from the other night from after you signed off.))
