They were outside Maebe's door. Otto had been up and down with mood swings since the fight between them. He'd almost been willing to apologize after hours of sulking, only to become angry or upset again after a breakout in Twitter.

Cami lost her patience.

The pair were outside the door. Otto knocked. He wasn't sure what was going to happen. He was still mad. But he was also sorry.
PostPosted: Sat Aug 02, 2014 2:22 pm

The sound of knocking felt like someone was slamming a hammer directly into her skull, and Maebe wrapped her covers tighter around her head in response, groaning quietly. She hushed out a shhing sound, but there was no one to hear her, and she knew that whoever was at the door would just keep knocking if she didn't do or say something loud enough for them to realize she'd never managed to lock the door after Ripley had left. So she moved her head up just enough to say "It's open," In a voice that she hoped was loud enough for them to hear.

This meant the voice was loud enough to split her skull, and she whimpered as she pulled the covers over her head again and rode the waves of pain that rocked through her mind.

After last night Cami's bullshit tolerance was so low as to be an imaginary number. She was hurt, mildly depressed, irritated, and lonely all at the same time. It turned what might have simply been clouds in front of her usual sunshine into a ******** solar eclipse of epic proportions. Maebe was drunk, Otto was sulking, and she just was done with it.

So that morning she'd given Otto two options. 1) Go willingly with her down to Maebe's to talk to her and work it out or 2) be dragged down to Maebe's by his ear to talk to her and work it out. If she had to lock them in a goddamned closet until they talked to each other, or even ******** out the aggression, she'd do it. Cami could handle Otto's sulkiness or Maebe's aloof pretend bullshit.

Not both. Not at the same time.

Otto was, thankfully, reasonable and subdued which in and of itself was grating on her nerves. She missed his smile. She needed it right now. Opening the door the flame-haired woman walked inside and shut the door a little more forcefully than usual. "Good morning, sunshine!" Her voice was also pitched slightly higher because, damn it, she wasn't feeling entirely sympathetic. That she had a bag with water and aspirin, well, that was for later.

Otto was uncomfortable here. Cami was pissed. Maebe was... the mystery. Otto knew where Cami stood simply because she was easier to figure out. Seeing Maebe hiding under a pile of blankets just made him question how bad she'd be to talk to.

Otto needed a way to break the ice. He'd had a plan before he'd seen some horrible flirting happening on Twitter. Once that happened his "plan" got shoved into a trash can. Literally. However, in light of Cami's ultimatum, he retrieved what he could of it.

The bouquet was salvageable. The chocolates not so much. He ate those ******** rather than trashed them.

Otto pulled said bouquet from his duffel, along with a bar of chocolate from his usual stash. Both were set carefully atop the pile of blankets shielding Maebe, before he stepped back a bit.

"Maebe?" He asked uncertainly. "What I said in the DMs... I'm sorry. I didn't really mean that I hate you. I was... irritated. And then you--" He was going to put blame on her, then thought better of it and clammed his pie hole.

"I'm sorry."

Maebe let out an audible cry of pain when the door slammed, and Cami's loud voice set her world to spinning with agony. She grabbed her pillow and slammed it down over her head, whimpering helplessly into the bed - Cami was going to make her head actually explode, she was sure of it.

There was enough of a pause between Cami's cheerful greeting and Otto's quiet words, to allow Maebe's hearing to return from the high pitched ringing the door banging had caused. She heard him, but she made no move to respond until he'd gone quiet. There was a tense moment of silence, before the soft shift of cloth sounded movement within the blankets, and a tentative hand reached out to blindly feel whatever it was he'd put on top of her.

Once her hand had a hold of the offering, it clamped down, and slowly slid it all back under the blankets. She had not yet emerged, she'd simply taken the flowers and candy into her fortress of solitude. But under those blankets, hidden from the world, Maebe felt like she was going to explode again - only this time, it was her heart.

Flowers.

"I'll forgive you if everybody stops screaming." Finally, she spoke, in the quietest muffled whisper under the blankets. She shifted her cover just enough so that one tired eye could peek at them both, but accidentally exposed part of what was obviously a very tightly, desperately clutched bouquet of flowers. She held them against her like a lifeline, because no one had ever given her flowers before. Ever.

Good. It was a succinct thought because as much as Cami wanted to let this mood go it wasn't going to let her go without some serious effort from both of them. Otto had all but mended his fence by this point at least with cuddles, arms tight around her last night as she cried quiet tears of frustration into her pillow. The flowers he'd bought were lovely and it seemed like, even without the hangover, they would have done the trick.Reaching into the canvas bag she'd brought down with her Cami placed a cool bottle of water and two tablets of aspirin within Maebe's reach. It wasn't an apology, for she hadn't done anything wrong, but it was definitely a sign that she wasn't entire frozen towards the hungover blonde. As if she could ever be such a thing!

Sinking down on the floor next to the bed her voice was quiet. "Didn't you remember to drink water before going to bed?"

A good sign, all in all. Maebe had taken the flowers and candy into her little cubby rather than threw them of snipped off the heads. Otto felt some relief, sinking down to sit nearby Cami.

He was still sulking. He just wasn't angry anymore.

Maebe should have known better than to let herself fall asleep without drinking water, but last night had been filled with far too much all at once for her to even think about anything rationally. So she'd gone to bed drunk, and woken up with the first real hangover she'd had in a long time. And the worst she'd ever had, to boot.

She pushed out more just long enough to put her finger to her lips at Cami, simply because she couldn't distinguish the difference between quiet whispering voices and loud, raucous screams. Then she took the water and aspirin, administering both as quickly as her clumsy hands allowed.

"No." She huffed out. "Too busy hating everything forever."

The bottle was put in her arms, held just as tenderly as the water, who were now both openly being cuddled.

Cami wanted to be angry. Wanted to open her mouth and boom out with the strength of lungs used to cross-country runs across the island every morning, lungs that would have made a drill sergeant proud with the volume and ability of her voice to carry. Yet she couldn't help but reach under the blankets and smooth messy blonde hair back from a pale face, kissing Maebe's forehead softly as she stroked her head. "Everything? Even me?" It was a tease in a voice as quiet as she could manage. Looking up she saw Otto's skateboard and she shifted her body so that Maebe wouldn't look up to see it, wouldn't be immediately reminded of the feud that had brought them here. "Do you still want to tear Taym's throat out with your teeth?" She sounded just a little hopeful.

Reaching down, because it made her feel better to do so, Cami's fingers linked with Otto's. Only he knew how truly upset she'd been about the whole thing and, hopefully, he wasn't going to be telling anytime soon.

Cami's touch was a soothing balm on Maebe's skin, and it urged her out with a sudden desperation that managed to make her actually move out of her covers. She slid, much like a snake, off of the bed and curled up on the floor between both Otto and Maebe. "Yes." She muttered, wincing at the reminder of Taym's newest offense. "At least I think so. Whatever. He hit on you, I'm still mad at him for it." She looked up at Otto, and pouted. Her eyes were so tired. "Otto, Taym hit on Cami. Can we kill him? Please?"

Right. The Taym thing. He'd mistaken the exchange before as Cami flirting with Taym when he'd caught a peek at her phone, sending him into a puddle of tears and jealous misery to which Cami had to deal with.

It wasn't pretty.

"Be my guest." He murmured lowly. He was also put off that they both held wishes to bang America too. He was jealous through and through, and it was easy to spot.
PostPosted: Sat Aug 02, 2014 10:05 pm

Cami was, sometimes, just a little bit oblivious. She knew that Otto had some interest in her but didn't think it had progressed to the point of such attachment that he would feel jealousy when she flirted with others. For Maebe it made sense. They were clearly girlfriends, had agreed to be so, and had already dealt with the idea of jealousy and what it meant for them.So when she snuggled Maebe up against her so that the poor thing could rest her head against Cami's built-in pillow system, she rolled her eyes. "Not that I would probably mind you tearing his a*****e throat out right now but I don't think Otto cares that he was flirting with me." Cared that Maebe was hitting on America? Oh absolutely.

But someone hitting on her? Nah. Cami was sometimes a bit of an idiot. She did, however, notice him sulking into himself and was a little confused. Hadn't everything gone the way it was supposed to?

Otto and Maebe had been idiots about the skateboard, and each other. It was clear by the hangover and the flowers, that each in their own way had decided they might have gone a little overboard. But for once, Otto and Maebe were the least idiotic in the room, and that gave Maebe enough strength to sit up, between the two of them, and lean heavily back on Otto as she stared at her girlfriend. Her lids were heavy, and her face was tired, but she smiled a slow, knowing smile.

"Uh huh." She drawled out, clearly calling bullshit on the entire affair.

She turned her head back just a little, until she could see Otto out of the corner of her eye to confirm that she was right, but seeing him so close and feeling him against her reminded her that they hadn't actually made up yet, and she slumped with just a hint of heavy guilt. Why was she teasing Cami about Otto when she couldn't even get a handle on her own relationship with him?

Cami was indeed wrong, and even Maebe saw it. Speaking of, it felt wonderful to have Maebe's warmth leaning against him after having gone a while so cold. Instinctively his hand rested on her waist. He liked having her nearby. He truly didn't want to lose her.

He'd said sorry. He didn't need to hear her do the same. For now. Unless she flirted with America again.

Seriously girls. Ya'll suck.

Blinking several times she looked from Maebe, to Otto, then back again. Color started to creep up her neck as she made the connection, because oblivious didn't mean stupid, and was distressed immensely. "Wait, do you care, Otto? You never..." She stopped herself and groaned.

Maebe's pillow was dragged over so she could moosh her face into it. Muffled they might be able to hear 'I'm an idiot' come out.
