This is a solo RP between Maritza and Anika. Teepee She swam lazily along the bottom of the lake. She really enjoyed it there, as it felt so serene. She enjoyed all the beautiful coral and kelp, and the wildlife it brought with it. Sunlight trickled down and made beautiful reflections dance along the bottom. If she could, she would just stay there all day, but she wasn't made to stay at the bottom all the time, and would have to venture to the surface soon enough. She sighed and began her ascent, when a terrible distressed sound caught her attention. She looked around for the cause of the distress and noticed a small dolphin thrashing about in a fishing net about fifty yards from where she was. 'Oh no,' she thought, 'that poor creature.' She wasn't about to let a dolphin become someone's meal, and so she quickly swam to help.
When she arrived, the dolphin was thrashing this way and that trying to free itself from the net's holds, but it was no use. They were made to capture, not to let go. Maritza swam up cautiously, not wanting to scare the poor creature even worse. "Shhh....shhhh," she shushed, trying to soothe the terrified dolphin. "Let me help you."
The dolphin, terrified already, had never seen a mer before, so she instinctively assumed that the great brown creature swimming towards her was a predator. She squealed and clicked, thrashing harder to try to free herself. Her horns were tangled in the netting now, so only her back end was able to move. Her snout was suck through one of the many holes in the net, but it wasn't big enough for her to fit the rest of her body through. The great brown beast moved closer and said something to her, but she didn't hear it over her own cries. "Noo! Leave me alone!" she cried.
Maritza stopped to show her that she wasn't a threat. "Please, please calm down. I want to help you," she replied. "I can't do anything if you're moving around like that." She spoke a little loud as to be heard over the dolphin's cries, but it was to no avail. She would have to prove it to her. She looked around at the net to see if she could pull it free or what she could do to free it from it's tethers. She didn't see any boats nearby, so it appeared that this one had been left in the water. The dolphin appeared to be stuck through the holes in it, and her horns were wound around parts of the rope. It wasn't going to help to pull the net, it needed to be cut. She frowned and thought a moment on how she could do that, especially if the dolphin wouldn't let her near her.
