Hobbies: Eclectic Art - Dante spends most of his time working on some project or other for the simple reason that he enjoys it. He takes particular pleasure in trying out new mediums and exploring what he can do with them. On occasion, he'll take on commission work for money or as a favor.
Reading - When he has the free time and feels like being entertained, Dante tends to fall to reading fiction novels. He tends to stay in the sci-fi and fantasy genres, but branches out from time to time. His bedroom has a wall lined with book cases and a wide selection of books he's read.
Virtues:Good neighbor - Dante is the neighbor everyone wishes they lived next to. He's reliable, approachable, trustworthy and very helpful. He keeps his music at a sane level and respects the privacy of the people around him. Growing up, he was raised to believe that helping people who need it is just something you do. Someone's car broke down, time to go over and see if you can get it running. Cat got loose? Go hunt it down. Neighbor needs you to pick up their mail and water their plants while they're out of town? Sure, no problem. On top of that, he's always been good with his hands, so he's the kind of guy you call when you need something done, from stopping a leaky faucet to changing the oil in your car. Most of the time, he's perfectly happy to help people out and doesn't really expect anything in return beyond a good relationship with the people around him and their respect.
Artistic/Creative - Art has always been a love of Dante's and the older he gets, the more he throws himself into it. Most elective classes through highschool and college were filled with art classes and he has dabbled in pretty much everything at one point or another. Ceramics, sculpture, painting, drawing, computer illustration, plaster molds, jewelry making... while drawing and painting have gotten the most focused attention, he's always up for trying some new form of expression and the process is as important to him as the end product, if not more so. Most artwork ends up in other homes as gifts and its a great way to bright up someone's day to give them a little something you made yourself. He has a deep appreciation for the work others put out as well and is a regular visitor at local galleries and museums, drinking in the shapes and colors and emotions.
Flaws: Jealous/Possessive - What Dante has, he's worked very hard for and he holds on it to with a firm grip. His family didn't have much growing up and he always had to share what little there was with siblings. Now that he's older and on his own, what he's managed to get for himself is jealously guarded and any trespass on that is going to earn you a very angry man. You don't touch his stuff with out asking, you don't borrow things unless he's decided you can and get too close to the people he's deemed as his and you're asking for it. Unfortunately, such possessiveness can be smothering at times and he can be as likely to turn his anger on the object of the jealousy as on the one infringing on his staked claim.
Escapist - While escapism is not fundamentally negative, Dante uses it as a way to avoid things that are too emotionally or mentally stressing. When things become too much for him to handle, he has a habit of running away from it and burying himself in an art project, or in something like books and movies. Its not a solution to anything, simply an avoidance of making a decision or confronting a problem. The worse the stress, the more likely he is to run away from it.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Eyes: Warm amber orange with hints of gold
Hair: White, pulled to the side and tied low.
Neater bangs than this though, maybe?Face: Firm jaw and cheekbones, his skin could be described as tan or olive
Clothes: Dante is a dude and wears pretty typical men's clothing. Clothes have never been all that important as long as he looks nice. Jeans are common, as are tshirts and button ups. All too often though, when he's feeling lazy or not going out, his clothes end up dusty or splattered with paint as he works through his current 'project'.
