There were always things to do in the campsite. Always chores that needed to be done or wounded to take care of. Finnley had hardly been sleeping since there was always so much to do, between running errands for the healers and spending time with her new found friends she found herself always very busy. Today, however, was not one of those days. With Natsu and Viveka off on their own and the healing tents surprisingly empty for once, Finn found herself with nothing to do. So what does this prentice decide to do in her spare time? Go out into the forest and try to practice making salves, such a fun person right? All Finnley wanted to do was to help people, and the better she was at making salves and healing people, the more she could help. It was her theory anyway. As she made her way out into the forest, away from the buzz of the camp, she tried to recall all the ingredients they had taught her to make simple salves. Finnley thought she saw one of the certain kinds of flowers across the path and with a quick look around, went over to inspect it. But she wasn't quite sure if it was it or not, so it required more inspecting.

Ime had wandered off again, as she was wont to do. It was a slow day at the camp and her mother had sat down to spend time with her own friends. Ime didn't have many friends herself; she had not seen Sathe in quite some time, and Gaddok wasn't really her age as it was. At least there was Kelina, but she was older and wiser and perhaps less of a friend than a mentor. It was a little depressing, really. When you were tiny and cute, everyone would talk to you. Once you grew up and started forming your own opinions, you were like everyone else.
As of the moment she was sitting on the branch of a strong tree near a copse of flowers. She had thought she'd bring some back, just so the camp would have some surplus, but at the moment was just enjoying watching the birds fly by. The girl heard footsteps but thought nothing of it and swung down, now hanging by her knees from limb above her.
Oh, look! Someone she didn't know, and she looked about the same age! Maybe they could be friends...
"Hello!" she chimed, swinging slightly. It seemed the girl was looking for something. Maybe she'd need help!

Studying the flower, Finnley just couldn't tell if it was the right one or not! What if it wasn't and it was poisonous and she ended up making someone sick? That just wouldn't be acceptable. Shaking her head, Fin decided not to risk it and started moving on when she heard a sudden 'Hello' from somewhere above her. Jumping as it startled her, Finnley looked all around before looking up and seeing a girl about her age hanging upside down from a tree! "H-Hello. I'm s-sorry I didn't see you th-there!" She scratched the back of her neck nervously, somewhat embarrassed that she had missed the girl hanging from a tree branch! My silly, shy, stuttering Finnley. XD Ime is so adorable though.

Ime waved and smiled, completely unfazed by the fact that she hadn't been spotted immediately. Now that they'd at least spoken a few words to each other, she swung back up and hung by her arms.
"It's alright!" she reassured the girl as she dropped back down to the ground. All of a sudden the Shifter looked rather familiar. "I'm Ime. I think I've seen you around the healing tent, right? I'm Ime! My mom's Namora. Uh, the Wind woman with the curly blonde hair?" Her mother was a healer who had been working directly with the war efforts since the battle had occurred. The only silver lining to the whole ordeal was that staying around meant meeting people of every type from everywhere.

Finnley tried to calm her beating heart as the other girl, Ime, flipped up onto the branch and then swung down. She was very flexible! Smiling at her, she listened to her and figured she had seen Ime's mother around! "I have seen you and y-your mother! She's v-very nice and r-really talented at healing! It's nice to meet y-you, my name is Finnley. Looking once more at the flower, her brow creased. If Ime's mother is that blonde haired lady, maybe Ime knows the flower she's looking for? "I hate to ask th-this of you...but do you think you could help me f-find something?"

Ime grinned at the compliment, even if it was for her mother. It had been only her and Mama for the longest time now! She was more than happy to help as well, especially someone so kind. Did the girl always stutter, she wondered?
"Of course!" she chirped, clapping her hands together. So Finnley was looking for something! "What are we looking for?"

Finnley looked away awkwardly. She really hated asking for help, but sometimes you just couldn't avoid it. Her right foot played in the ground, it was obvious Finn didn't wanna really ask for help but knew that she needed to if she wanted to learn something. "Well I....I'm trying to find a fl-flower. It is a r-red fl-flower with blue thorns. Or...or was it a blue fl-flower with red thorns?"
She was clearly upset, yet a determined look was on her face. "I just wanted to practice making salves but I can't remember all of the ingredients." Finnley was so upset she hadn't even noticed that she made it through a whole sentence without stuttering.

The poor girl didn't seem to legitimately want the help, but need it. To that end, Ime decided to try and be as kind as she could while deftly avoiding patronizing her. She only knew of herbs and salves because of her mother who often chose to take Ime scavenging rather than leave her with the tribe. When your child was prone to wandering away, it was comforting to have them within an arm's reach at all times.
Ooh, there Finnley went, not stuttering. How odd! Ime already liked the girl.
"Like one of these?" She turned and moved to an area just beneath where she had been hanging, toward the red flower that the Shifter had noticed in the first place. She used her skirt to pluck it from the ground, and then held it gently in her hand as she offered a view to Finnley. She knew of a couple uses for them herself, and it would make sense if you were trying to make a salve! Hopefully she wasn't offering totally incorrect information.

Finnley studied the flower that Ime held out to her. It was the one she had started looking at in the first place. That fact helped her feel a little better, that she had gotten it right but had just second guessed herself too much.
"Is th-that one you would use in just a s-simple salve to put on say a-a cut?" Finn got closer to Ime as she was studying the flower. Why did she have so many problems remembering this stuff? Surely it wasn't that hard, was it? This girl, Ime, looked to be about the same age as she was but she knew it right off the bat.
Finnley wondered if this stuff was common knowledge. Was she at a disadvantage with coming from somewhere else? Or maybe was she just really bad at this? Finnley couldn't say, she just hoped she would figure things out before too long.

"Yeah, I believe so," Ime responded, turning the flower in between her fingers, "I've only ever seen Mama grind it up, never to chew on or burn or anything."
The truth was that her knowledge of healing sort of came to an end after the plants used. She was generally used as a harvester rather than a student, although on occasion she assisted with particularly awful wounds that took a few sets of hands or cut and scrapes that she was capable of handling herself. She lifted the plant curiously to her nose. It had a familiar soft of smell, grassy and green with just a hint of florals. Yes, this must be the one.
"Are you studying to be a healer?"

"W-well, if you've seen your Mother use it it m-must be good for something!" Finnley said as she offered up a small smile.
Seeing another one of the flowers just a few feet off, she walked over to it and studied it before picking it. It took her a moment to realize Ime had started talking to her again since she was trying to recall what went with this flower for a salve. Or what else went into one really.
"I want to be a healer, yes." Finn said, once more not stuttering. For whatever reason she was able to talk to Ime and feel more calm around her than anyone else she had met so far. Though, in her defense, the only other friends she had were two cute boys who she was gonna be a surrogate for at some point. "I just find it s-so difficult to remember these things. Are you studying to be a healer? I'm sure you've l-learned a lot from your Mom."

Ime smiled at Finnley's comment as if it were a personal compliment. Why yes, her mother was brilliant. How nice of the Shifter to notice! Finnley did begin to move away, though, so Ime simply came along and looked for more of the flowers. Spotting one, she scampered off to retrieve it. So long as Finnley planned to actually put these salves to use, she didn't see any harm in helping her harvest the ingredients!
She paused after Finnley spoke and her arms dropped. Well, that was the hard part.
"I don't really know what I want to be. My Mom's a healer so I could get some easy training, but I just... I don't know." Her free hand had moved in, forgetting that the thorny flower was there, and accidentally pricked herself with a hiss of wounded breath through gritted teeth. "Ouch!"

Ime had seen the next flower before she had so she watched as the other girl walked over to get it. But with her question, it seemed to make Ime have to think about it. "I'm sure you'll figure it out. I just want to h-help people, which is why I want to become a healer."
Finnley hadn't even noticed that Ime wasn't exactly paying attention to where she was picking and with the other's 'Ouch!', Finnley cringed a little bit. "Are you o-okay??" She asked, concern in her voice. "These thorns are really annoying aren't they?" Finn said with a smile.
"Well, wh-what do you enjoy doing?" Finnley asked her. Often a persons path could be decided just by taking a closer look at one's life.

Of course, that was the general reason people decided to be healers. Ime couldn't be sure if she was simply meant to follow in her mother's footsteps or what. Everyone seemed so passionate about what they did, and she just wasn't sure. Heck, even Finnley knew what she wanted to be and she wasn't any older than Ime.
"I'm fine," she nodded, her voice a bit sullen for just a moment. She managed to smile up at her harvesting companion and shrug. Her voice has returned to its usual happy pitch with just a twinge of hesitation. "I don't know... meeting new people? Exploring? Helping?" None of those things hit her as distinctly one class or another.

Finnley actually felt kind of bad for Ime. It must be difficult to not know what you want to do. Meeting new people, exploring, helping. None of those did sound like one particular class. But maybe together? "Well..what..what about l-like a sc-scout or something! You'd be exploring and helping and maybe meeting new people! But..I...I mean...you could be a healer like y-your Momma too. H-healers do all of that stuff. I traveled here from home to help. I-I've met new people and now I've seen new places."
Did Ime just not want to be a healer even though it seemed like a good path for her to Finnley? She already had knowledge of it, she said she wanted to help and meet new people. Healers did that! Maybe she just didn't want to deal with that side of helping people.
