Finley was watching her. Had been for a bit, actually, and 'admiring' was probably a better word for it than 'watching' was - it definitely wasn't in a creepy way or anything, it was just, well... That outfit, the makeup and that hairstyle; it was all so well matched! Not in an overdone 'I'm trying too hard'-way, no, this was elegance made to seem effortless. And practical, too, which was a newfound point of importance on Finley's fashion checklist after coming to Deus. This was definitely someone who shared her interest in fashion, she was sure, which would make it okay for her to approach and not make her seem like some random weird stalker trying to chat someone up. Right! And so, with a determined nod to herself, the Mist trainee ended her mental conversation of one and moved to plop herself down at the other Hunter's table. "Hiya! I'm Finley, nice to meet you," a friendly smile and a wave, "I'm really sorry for just barging over like this - and the staring too, that might have come off a bit weird - but I just gotta tell you, I really love your outfit."

Luckily Harlow hadn't really noticed the other watching her lately. Harlow was the type that when she was doing any thing like school she spent most of her time studying or doing homework. In this case training often but she was always looking for something to read as well. It was what she really enjoyed doing. She always enjoyed reading and even though the training took it's toll on her she often liked to spend either her mornings or her nights reading.
She lifted her legs and rested them on the table as she slowly flipped through the pages of her book. Occasionally stopping what she was doing to write something down in her note book, or to look around and see what was going on around her. As she looked up this time the sound of a voice caught her attention. She grinned at the person as she heard a voice and right away she greeted back. "Hey! I'm Harlow!" She placed her finger in her book so that she could keep track of it where she was, reaching around with the other hand to find her book mark. She laughed a little as the girl commented on her outfit. "Wow! Thank you! I really like yours as well!" She nodded as she moved some of her stuff out of the way to make room for the other to sit. "I've seen you around lately! I'd have to say I love your style."

"Thank you!" Finley grinned and felt the distinct need to twirl around for the other Hunter's inspection. Sadly she was already seated and it would probably be a bit odd to get up just to do a twirl and then sit down again. Rats. "I'm pretty new here still, but I've seen you around a few times and the same to you! I really admire how you do your make-up too, I can't seem to do more than the basic and even then it ends up looking terrible more often than not." A heavy sigh and a quirk of her lips, "I guess it's all practice, but more often than not I feel like I'm just caking stuff on blindly in the hope that something will look good together. How do you do it?"

Harlow shifted pulling one of her legs under her and then leaned on her elbows on her knees. There was one thing for sure which is that she was extremely pleased to have met some one who was interested in fashion and make up like she was. There were plenty of girls out here that looked good but there were many that weren't interested in fashion or they kind of scared her.
She flashed the other girl a large grin. "It's not as hard as it seems at first!" She motioned toward the girl and grinned. "Yeah practice is normally the best way to get to it. That's how I learned anyway. See but I love your hair, that's something that i can't get a hold of, I just normally put mine up in a bun." She laughed as she reached her hands up to adjust her bun, it was feeling pretty loose at the moment. "Maybe we could do some kind of trade?"

"Buns are universally ace though! I mean, elegant but practical, it really can't get much better than that, can it?" Finley couldn't help but self-consciously fiddle with her hairdo as it was mentioned, patting it lightly before giving the other girl a flattered grin. "But sure, a trade would be fantastic! Although I'm running out of the make-up I brought with me here so we might have to wait a bit for that part." An evaluating glance was thrown at Harlow's hair for a few moments before she nodded, satisfied. It passed on all marks. "But I could totally show you some hairstyle tips - you've got really lovely texture and thickness, it shouldn't be too hard to find some good hairstyles for you." She thought for a second, "we'll have to do some tests on practicality though, I'm not sure most of the hairstyles I know would work very well on the job here."

Harlow's smile grew larger at Finley's comment about buns. She was extremely glad to find some one else who really appreciated not only buns but hair, fashion and make up as much as she did. She was growing more and more excited by the minute. She had a feeling this was going to be a good friendship. She smiled and then pulled her legs up under her so that she was sitting criss cross.
She crossed her arms and then sat back and then spoke, "well maybe this time next week we should get together with our research and then start to teach eachother some times." She figured having some girl time once a week was something that was not only well deserved but also something that she was really going to enjoy. She then nodded to her, "So where did you come from?" She asked curiously, she always liked to find out where people were coming from because everything was so diverse here and it really made her curious.

"That sounds great!" Grinning, Finley imitated the other girl and changed her seating, drawing her legs up against her chest and resting her head on her knees. "Ohh, you can't tell?" Her smile was mischievious for a few seconds before she laughed, pushing a lock of hair behind her ear. "Well, not that I should be talking, considering I can't really tell where you're from either." She shrugged, "But I'm from Ireland. Well, Northern Ireland really - just from some small town I doubt anyone's ever heard of." Her smile was a bit terse, and her hands were knotting themselves in locks of her own hair. The past was something she'd rather not talk about, truth be told. Which meant that she needed to steer the topic away from herself, "and you? American? Though I guess that's a pretty broad term to use."

"Ah!" Harlow gasped and then nodded to the girl explaining where she was coming from. She loved seeing where everyone came from. She hadn't met anyone from Ireland yet and meeting some one now was pretty interesting. "I'm so horrible about accents, to be honest." She really was, but being able to hear it and then pin point it somewhere made sense. When she looked at it she felt silly not being able to draw that connect with the name. Then again she had met many people with names that did not match their origins at all.
She offered a laugh in return as the girl asked where she came from. She could tell the other looked a little nervous, she wasn't that sure why but she wasn't about to pry, she had a feeling that it wasn't about her. "The sea." she joked with a grin, it wasn't completely wrong. "Almost America, Alaska. But I spent a lot of my childhood out with my father on his fishing boats." She spend probably more times on the boat then she did on the ground.

She laughed, waving a hand, "nah, I think it's pretty normal to only know the accents surrounding where you're from. At least that's how I am." And thankfully Harlow didn't seem to mind moving onwards in their conversation. This perked Finley up considerably. Clasping her hands in enthusiasm, she said, "that sounds amazing! Fishing boats." She sighed happily, sending the other girl an admiring look. "And Alaska too - that's pretty exotic. Well, at least where I'm from. Does it snow all year around? And how big are the fishing boats? Can you live in one pretty comfortably or were you all squished in?"

Harlow was both surprised and pleased when the other girl was interested where she was coming from and what that was like. So far she really hadn't meet many people that she didn't like, but this girl just seemed extra exciting. She was glad that she could have some one that seemed just as excited about life as she was.
"It doesn't!" She laughed a large grin growing on her face. "Many people think it does, but surprisingly it does not. It's extremely nice when we get a break from snow." She paused and then thought back ot the boats. "It's a little bit of both. We went on different boats and some of them were smaller, some of them were nicer. My dad had his own boat which was medium sized and decently nice. But I would go with him for some of the traveling boats some times that would have him go out for a little while. They all varied." She explained with a laugh. Those were a lot of fond memories for her. Even the worst of the boats she managed to have fun in.

"I bet! Snow is pretty fantastic, but I reckon if you were stuck with one type of weather all year 'round you'd end up hating it, whatever it might be." Personally she was quite glad to have grown up in a temperate climate, experiencing a little bit of everything. It all sounded pretty exciting to Finley, and her enthusiasm was clearly reflected in her expression as she said, "that sounds so neat! Was it just you and your dad or were there other family members too?"

She shrugged with a small smile on her face. "I really like the snow, honestly this whole new climate thing is really killing most of my outfits." she made a small face as she adjusted herself on her seat grabbing her water bottle and then taking a sip. "I really need to find some time to leave here and go shopping for clothes i can actually wear here."
She listened to the girls next question and then kind of paused, the fact that she didn't have any other family around was kind of frustrating although she always enjoyed time with her dad. "Nope, just me and my dad." She said simply, she wasn't really that sure of what else to say about it honestly. She probably looked extremely awkward honestly.
