There was a feeling, something calling her, and it sent electric excitement down Ash's spine as she bounced across the grass, her eyes darting to and fro. There was someone nearby who was putting off the kind of energy that made the guardian's whiskers tingle and she very badly wanted to find that person as soon as possible. The low hum of traffic off to the side was a distraction, but it couldn't penetrate the laser focus Ash prided herself on. Even the lack of energy from too many interrupted naps would not dissuade the cat... no nightmare was going to get the best of her!
Pausing in her darting about, Ash posed with paw raised and tail curling behind her, stretching her senses outwards for those bright specks of light that were her precious baby senshi. There was one, closer than the others... that had to be it! Orienting on the source of the signature, the silver guardian took off in a streak of fur, darting between feet to the protests of their owners. What did she care? A minor inconvenience, soon forgotten.
Swinging down an alley way, dodging garbage and other unmentionable detritus, Ash came out the other side in short order and paused again to get visual conformation of the senshi she was seeking. There... a flash of orange and cream and the warmth of power begging her attention... The guardian let out a mew as she bounced over to curl herself around the senshi girl's legs, big green eyes wide as she stared upwards.
"Hello, darling! I don't think we've met before, I'm Ash, and it is an absolute pleasure to make your acquaintance." She said with a grin, tail curling to wrap around one of the orange boots. Tonight was looking to be one of her lucky nights, only second to finding a likely candidate for a brand, spanking new pen.

"Hm?" Megrez was not exactly expecting a voice to come from below. She felt something touch her ankles, and after reflexively jolting a bit, she looked down to see... a grey cat with a purple visor. Huh. It wasn't until she noticed the star on the cat's forehead that it finally occured to Megrez what was going on. "Hi, Ash! You're a Guardian Cat, right? Of course you are, or you wouldn't be speaking... um, anyway, I'm Megrez, Senshi of Eggs. What are you up to around here?" Megrez was just kind of listlessly sniffing around for youma; she didn't feel much like a huge fight and it was a nice night, so why not take a walk and patrol at the same time?

The greeting and rush of questions brought a smile to Ash's face as she moved back to give herself room to look up at the senshi without painfully craning her neck. Picking a likely spot, the guardian settled to sit on her haunches with her tail curled about her, her head tilted ever so slightly to the side.
"I am indeed a Guardian! The star kind of gives it away, I think, if the talking didn't." She said with a grin and a flick of her tail. "Megrez? It is lovely to meet you, darling! And fortunate for the both of us, I think, that I ran into you tonight. You have a feel to you... there's something there that needs my attention, I believe."
For a moment Ash looked bashful, lifting a paw to hide her embarrassment in cleaning it. "I will admit that I haven't done this very often, so I'm still sort of learning... but I assure you I am perfectly capable!" Rising from her seat, the cat bounced closer and jumped, alighting on the senshi's shoulder. A rub of the cheek was given in greeting before Ash crouched on her perch, an ear cocked towards the feel, that thing she sensed...
Warmth came with a rumbling purr as the guardian concentrated, reaching out for the glowing starseed she sensed in her mind. Ah, there it was... and the guardian did something invisible, something internal, and abruptly leaped off Megrez's shoulder, turning when she reached the ground to give her a triumphant look.
"Hold up your pen, Megrez!" She called, her tail lashing. "Call out 'Megrez Star Power, Make-up!"

"Something?" Megrez was clueless as to what more a Guardian Cat would have to do with her. Julienne had awakened her so long ago; what more would there be to do? "Haven't done what?" She was more than a little surprised when the cat jumped on her shoulder, but the cheek rub made her giggle. "That tickles! What are you up to?" She wasn't sure what the cat did for that moment that she was on her shoulder, but she saw no reason not to follow the directions. "Huh? Okay." She summoned up her henshin pen, and... "Megrez Star Power, Make-Up!" Megrez was surrounded in an egg-shaped light for a good few seconds. Soon, cracks formed in the light, and Megrez burst out as a flurry of feathers floated to the ground. The first thing she noticed was the fact that her henshin pen had changed shape, then that her gloves were different and her pants were puffier. "What... what just happened?" She looked from her pen the cat to the gloves, and then it sank in. "Wait... did I just... am I at the next stage now?" With a barely-tamed squeal, Megrez jumped for joy. "I did it! I did it! I'm a Super Senshi now! Um, and of course, you helped. Thanks, Ash!" The first thing on her mind was showing her friends what had happened. She summoned up her phone and turned on the camera. "Everyone has GOT to see this! Come on, get in the picture! You should be in it, too!"

Ash beamed as the senshi popped out of her glowing egg in all her new super glory, looking rather dashing in her bright sunshine colors and creamy feathers. Their sway caught at her attention, but she refused to be distracted by waving bits while she had a new senshi to delight in. It felt so GOOD to watch her babies grow... gain power, confidence, new abilities... it was one of the most fulfilling part of a guardian's job.
"Yes, yes, darling you've been upgraded! Quite a fancy job of it, I might say. You look quite dashing in your new fuku." The burmilla said as she stretched luxuriously, perking up when she heard the word 'picture'. Green eyes lit up behind a purple visor and Ash darted to jump back up onto Megrez's shoulder, balancing delicately there as the girl adjusted the camera.
"Oh, my, yes, a picture! Something to commemorate your achievement! And, how wonderful we both look, I imagine." She said with a feline grin, her ears perked smartly forward as she took a moment to smooth down a few stray strands of fur with her tongue.
"All ready when you are, darling!" The guardian chirped, well pleased with herself and her new charge.

"All right! Ready.. set... say cheese!" Megrez held up the phone at what she deemed a perfect angle, and then snapped a picture of herself with the guardian cat perched on her shoulder. She took a closer look after taking the picture and giggled. "Yes, this is great! We both had our best camera faces! I'm going to go send it to... pretty much everyone, if you don't mind." Of course, she didn't even wait for Ash to give her permission; she was already tapping out her message and selecting people to send it to (Gunn, Megiddo, and Penthesilea to name a few). "Let's see... um... 'Hey... guys... look at me... now...?'"

The guardian posed cutely for the photo and leaned in to view the picture once the senshi had taken it. Tail flicking back and forth, Ash collapsed to drape herself over the shoulder she had been standing on.
"Of course, darling, send to whomever you like!" She chirped happily, hanging boneless and relaxed on her newest senshi. "Make sure you include me in that, I want a picture too. If you don't have my contact in your phone you should add me. I put as many senshi as I can on my list because you never know when you're going to need to contact someone for something important."
Basic fact of life, as a guardian cat. The more people you knew, the better your chances of getting things done when it counted.

"I can do that? Include guardian cats in my contacts, I mean. Is it the same as adding a senshi to your contacts- just snap a picture and you're good?" As Megrez fiddled with her phone, she remembered something pertinent. "You know, speaking of the phones... I thought I heard something about some kind of upgrade during that moon visit a little while ago. Do you know anything about that?" Getting two upgrades in one go would just have been icing on the cake for Megrez. Not only would having the most current technology be a great step forward for her, but hey, free new stuff was always great!

"Not all guardian cats!" Ash replied with a smug expression. "But I have a phone of my own, so it should work just fine with me. I'm a bit of a special cat, I have to admit... very technology forward."
Speaking of... Megrez reminded the burmilla of the upgrades she had been doing and the cat was taken aback that she hadn't thought of this herself. And she'd JUST gotten done boasting about being tech savvy.
"Oh, goodness, yes!" Ash said as she got up and jumped from the girl's shoulder, landing lightly on the ground with a flick of her slender tail. Turning about, the cat tilted her head as she settled to sit. "I'm sorry darling, I got all caught up in your power upgrade and the picture, it completely slipped my mind! Here, give me your phone and I'll do that right away for you!"
Waving a paw, the guardian beckoned for the bit of electronics, her tail swaying back and forth.

"That's really cool! Here, let me- oh, yeah, you should probably do the upgrade first." Giggling, Megrez set her phone down in front of Ash. "There you go! Work your magic! I'll add you after you fix it up. All my stuff will still be on there after the upgrade, right? I've got some nice pictures of my homeworld on there that I really want to keep. And the Super Selfie, of course." She found herself wondering just what precisely the upgrade entailed, but decided it would be best to just let Ash do what she had to do.

The burmilla pounced on the phone as soon as it was released, a warm purr rumbling from her throat as slender tail flicked in excitement. This was what Ash loved... plunging face first into wonderful tech and getting to fuss with it. Applying her teeth, the Mauvian popped the casing open and with a flick of her tail, a new phone appeared out of subspace and fell with a rattle to the ground.
"Its an entirely new phone I'm giving you, but this bit of transfer I do is to get that information off the old phone and into the new one. It would be silly if you lost everything just to get a new phone..." She said absently as she worked a bit of something out of the old phone and moved it into the new one, snapping the case back together. Settling back on her haunches, Ash pressed a paw to the phone and was pleased when the phone came to life as it was designed to.
"There!" She chirped, looking entirely pleased with herself. "All done. These new phones have the same things as the old phones, but they should be a bit easier to use. The moon pearl is built in now and hopefully there will be new features coming out in the future that you can download for it."

Megrez watched Ash do her work, entranced. Subspace was an intriguing subject, always, and she was surprised to see the new phone just wink into existence. She wondered if the way Ash activated the phone with just a touch worked in a similar way to how she had upgraded the senshi herself. When Ash finished, Megrez picked up the phone and marveled at it. "Oh, wow! It's got a big screen and everything! A touch screen, right?" She tapped an icon on the screen and brought up her contacts, confirming her question. "It looks like it's totally modern now. And the moon pearl is built in? I don't have to hitchhike anymore? Sweet! Thanks a ton, Ash! So... I just take a picture, and that'll add you, so I can send you the Super Selfie, right?" She had already pulled up the camera to try and get a perfectly-centered picture of the Guardian Cat.

The silver cat preened at the praise the phone got, settling on her haunches in classic cat pose with her tail curling around her paws. Her expression was entirely smug and she gave a slow, lazy blink in satisfaction.
"Yes to touch screen, yes to pearl, yes to no hitchhiking!" Ash laughed as the tip of her tail curled. "Just point and shoot with your camera, and I'll be added automatically. You can add knights and such too, but if there is no info on them in the database, you'll have to add their info by hand. You can't really send text messages to knights, but it doesn't hurt to have them on file."
The guardian straightened up and posed prettily for the picture, waiting for the click that signaled it before she relaxed again.
"I'm afraid that's all I have for you today, dear, but it was a pleasure getting to do your upgrade and exchange information." Ash said, moving to stretched her paws out in front of her and arch her spine.

Megrez tapped the screen, and then click indicating a taken picture came. Sure enough, Ash was added to her contacts with no incident. "There we go! Give me just a moment and I'll send you the picture..." Some taps and slides later, the photo was sent. "There! It should be right there on your phone when you get to it. Or whatever you use." She nodded at Ash, grinning cheerfully. "And of course, thank you for the upgrade! I'll put my new power to good use, I promise!" She took a step back, getting ready to leave. "So, see you later?" Bluefire Dragonz Might be a wrap on my end depending on Ash's response!

The silver cat grinned, her tail flicking back and forth.
"Thank you, darling!" Ash chirped, feeling that other sense that said her phone needed her attention. It would wait though. "Feel free to call me any time, even just to chat."
Getting to her paws, the burmilla bounced over to rub herself between Megrez's ankles in farewell before she took off, her tail lifted jauntily behind her.
