Rules
If anyone has any questions, Please just send me a PM and I'll be happy to help!
- This is a contest for Mutant newbies! This means you can only own 1 or less Soquili that are considered Mutants. This is to give others a chance and is a specific rule for this contest.
- This is an User-Run Contest and not an official shop giveaway, So not only does it mean that it doesn't count to your monthly freebies, but it also means that what we are giving is all you can get. - We'd prefer Active Soquili Regulars: While we both like newbies, the majority Grab and Dash, and we'd like to make sure this goes to someone who actually spends time in thread and trying for things, even if they don't actually own any Soquili. - Don't be a sore loser if you don't win - Late entries will not be accepted, sorry! - Feel free to edit your entries up until closing!
I would love to get some family RP with this baby as well! Slimy won't be RPing however, so Moto won't be around while the children grow, along with their last sibling. I know I can't force anyone to RP, but it would be loved! <3 These are Kadentsu's first children and she would be sad if she ended up not seeing all of them.
Owner: ~Twilight...Angel~ Name: Kadentsu About: Kadentsu is a mare who is very sure of herself and commands authority over others. Though sometimes competitive, she is very sweet and has a soft demeanor. Helping others is her biggest hobby. Going around to various lands and trying to make sure that herds get along with each other. Her goals may seem naive, but don't be fooled. She has seen many great and terrible things in her short time in the world. When deep in thought, her eyes often betray the horror filled images of sadness and despair behind them. Kadentsu can be very mean and short tempered at times. Often because of frustration. When she is in such moods, it's best not to acknowledge her unless she speaks to you first. And if she does, be quick. Her out bursts are not something to be toyed with. Not unless you want the fury of one thousand suns stared down at you.
Owner: SlimyCrow Name: Moto Maji About: Moto Maji is the product of two very self-centered individuals. His mother loved others primarily for her own vanity, so the love that Moto witnessed was always corrupt. By nature, his vanity consumes him, threatening his relationships. He sometimes feels as though he is not acting...correctly...but he describes these feelings as coming from outside himself. This uneasiness of character ads to his desire to be alone. Torn on an unusual border between narcissism and shame he refuses any long-term contact.

Promts:
Prompt 1
The two baskets that are left in Kadentsu's care have finally popped! So the little darlings are ready for adventure! Your little darling has decided to go off on their own (Or with Makoto, who you may use for your prompt responses). What kinds of adventures do they have away from their mother's ever watchful eye?
Prompt 2
Their father is no longer in the picture, but he took one of their siblings off with him. Their mother gave them the simple answer that they decided to go their seperate ways, how does the little darling feel about that?
Prompt 3
Their mother is now teaching the children how to be out on their own and how to act as a royal Prince, or Princess. Their Grandmother had always been sure to teach Kadentsu and their uncles how to act in the best manner possible. How do they feel about their lessons? Are they against it much like one of their Uncles? Or are they all for it like their own mother?
The gender of the basket is unknown, so you are welcome to think up seperate names for if the basket pops as a male or a female. You are also welcome to repond to the SAME prompt for both genders as well. Good luck!
Pink & Black Basket Baby!
**Using female pronouns but the name is pretty gender neutral.
Basket Name: Yuuki ---Meaning: 優 輝 'Gentle Radiance' Temper: Conflicted Personality: There is the potential for a princess, but there is also equal potential for a monster. She is often sweet and gentle but her temper can turn on a dime and she can become a little terror. And it can be just as much about entertainment as getting what she wants out of someone or something. It isn't something she consciously acknowledges doing, it just sort of happens. As she ages her methods of terrorizing would change to suit the situation and who she was dealing with.
(( Bwahaha. I realized after I scribbled this down its almost a female Akio. ))
Prompt Choice: 2 - Father + Sibling Leaving Prompt Post:
Yuuki knew that Momma had tried to explain it but that didn't mean she had to agree with it. He had decided to leave, just like that? Could adults really be that silly? Surely Papa could explain it better if she were able to find him! It seemed a simple enough thing to her child's mind, so that was what she would set out to do. Now that she had a general plan the only real problem would be finding out which way he had gone, which was something only Momma knew. And that came with its own set of issues.
What to do? What to do?
Was it better to try and ask or just sneak away while Momma wasn't looking? The latter might be better, after all what Momma didn't know couldn't hurt her right?
Plot Ideas: Mostly foal ideas that could be fleshed out a lot more with coplotters. :3 - Have you seen my Dad?: Finding daddy + missing sibling. This would ultimately fail since Slimy doesn't RP but there would be room for plenty of adventure along the way. - Mischief Making: Really what is childhood without getting into trouble? wink - Being a Scary Monster: This would sort of depend on what the foal comes out looking like but with Moto Maji as a papa it has the potential to get pretty creepy. Going around scaring others, particularly other foals and familiars, might be fun. Being kinda scary looking as an adult is bound to have some interesting repercussions as well. - General Family RP: Always game for this. At the very least Makoto could be dragged into a lot of other things too.

Basket Name: Keha ---Meaning: Pride, Dignity, and Majestic (Unisex name of Hawaiian Origins) Temper: Responsible Personality: Keha is very noble and thinks that the world rests on his shoulders. He is always out to help others and make life better for anyone he can. Some would call this nosy or meddling but he just shrugs off the words and goes back to helping where he can. One thing Keha is though is jealous of those with wings. His greatest wish is to fly on wings of his own but obviously this is impossible, so upon meeting winged breeds he would have a bit of hero worship going on and may easily all into a bad crowd considering Kalona have wings.
Prompt Choice: Prompt 3 Prompt Post: Keha listened to his mother teach him and his siblings all about their royal heritage and how they must act accordingly. He heard a stifled yawn and looked over to see one of his siblings barely close their mouth before mother saw it. He rolled his eyes at his sibling and turned his head forward to listen again to his mother.
'She knows these things and we must listen if we are to carry the family name on proudly rather than in disgrace!' This was what he wanted to tell the yawning sibling but he kept his mouth shut. It was rude to interrupt your mother. He logged every word she said into his almost perfect memory and when the lesson was over walked to his mother and nuzzled her affectionately saying, "Thank you for the lesson mother. I had no idea how dignified our family was. It is nice to know how we should act in public."
Plot Ideas:
I am terrible at plotting ahead of time but RP is an assured thing with me. I love to RP where I can, even if I am no good at thinking up plots. Lol.

~Twilight...Angel~
Sorry if this question seems obvious sweatdrop
Do breeding mutants count? Like, mutants that are mutants because they inherited a trait from the parents?
(using male pronouns but will be same no matter the gender) Basket Name: Jaylen ---Meaning: none Temper: capricious Personality: Jaylen wants to please others but chomps at the bit of being made to conform to the rules of being a royal. Also his lineage and (possible) looks make him a bit antisocial and self conscious. He's a bit of a worry wort and isn't very sure of himself. Because of this he like to stick with others so if there's trouble at least he's not alone.
Prompt Choice: Prompt 1 Prompt Post: Jaylen looked about searching for cover to hide his escape from his mother. His lessons were finally over and he didn't want to chance that she'd begin to teach once again if he stayed too close. Jaylen saw his chance as his Kadentsu bent down to snatch a snack of grasses and he dashed as quietly as he could to the longer grasses and bushes that covered his small body from view. He stopped for a moment to make sure he had made a clean getaway before he proceeded to trot further into the woods. Jaylen examined his surroundings of the forest as he trotted between the trees, enjoying the bit of freedom. He jumped when a mystery animal startled him by rustling in a bush nearby. Jaylen stood still hoping that it wasn't something dangerous that was about to come after him. He began to get very nervous and started thinking that though he'd escaped his lessons this wasn't a very good idea in the long run. He turned around and sprinted back the way he'd come.
Plot Ideas: Tracking down family- Jaylen's erratic tendencies show themselves when he wanders off randomly. Sometimes cause he's bored, sometimes cause he's trying to find one of the many relatives that he hasn't yet known.
Taming the demons- Because he's had issues with his lack of attention span Jaylen would really benefit from some instruction from a wiser point of view.
(I'm not all that great with plotting but I'm open for rp. I'm just a bit slow at it.)

Pink & Black Basket Baby!
Username: Belloblossom
Basket Name: Chaturi ---Meaning: Clever (with Indian origins.) Temper: Intellectual Personality: Chaturi is an organized soquili, who tries to pay attention in the lessons that her mother gives, and wants to grow up to be well-respected and wise like Kadentsu is. She's got a sharp wit and is rather sensible, but... She desires to be let some free rein, too. She wants to go out and have adventures, to get her hooves dirty! She wants to be chaotic and unruly! She admires her father, for he seems to be the picture of that fantasy of discord, but she's got to choose between one and the other, and until she can decide, she's going to follow the path her mother wants her to lead. One of elegance and wisdom.
Prompt Choice: Number Three - Lessons with Kadentsu Prompt Post: Today was a lesson day, yesterday had been one too, and tomorrow was likely to be the same. Every day it was review of the previous day, and then the beginning of another lesson. Day after day, week after week, month after... No, no! Chaturi blinked coming out of her muddled thoughts as she watched her mother standing before Makoto. The foals and their mother had completed their review of proper and polite introductions, and now they were onto the newest lesson: bowing. Makoto had been having a hard time with bending his legs the correct way in order to bow. Every time he would try to bend his knees the way Kadentsu was showing them, his front legs would slide away from each other, and his hind legs would buckle, leaving him sprawled across the ground in a graceless heap. "I'm never going to get this!" Makoto complained, having fallen down for the fourth time in a row, "It's impossible!" How many times has he said that today? Chaturi wondered, for the phrase, "It's impossible!" seemed to be one of her brother's favorite things to say. "It isn't impossible, it's just new to you." Kadentsu assured her foal, "I had a difficult time with it too, when I was your age." After a pause she added, "Let's take a break in bowing. Go for a run with your sister, Makoto, and stretch your legs. When I call for you to return, we can try again." Makoto sprung away and darted towards Chaturi, and together they raced up a nearby hill, and looked over the edge. Chaturi could see the valley stretched before them. She saw other hills with the faintest glimmer of light peering through the sides, that told of another world just within her reach. Oh, what an adventure it would be to kick aside her studies and go past the valley and over those far away hills. She would meet other Soquili, she was certain, and she would be able to put her knowledge to use in any way she thought best. She wouldn't have to worry about the proper way to bow or how to introduce her to a royal soquili, because what was the chance of her ever meeting royalty anyway? Oh, what a life it would be... What freedom. "Chaturi! Makoto!" Her mother's voice brought her from her thoughts, and with a final look at the shimmering light beyond the mountains, she turned away and with her brother, went back to her mother.
Plot Ideas: Alright, so I'll just bullet-point (sort of) my ideas and give a brief summary on them, if that works. I hope it does.
Daddy Drama - Seeing how Moto nor their last sibling is going to be in the roleplay, I suspect that this will impact Chaturi quite a bit. She's being raised by a noble and stern (at times) mother, who wants perfection (or close to, from what her description said) from her foals. That's understandable, but being raised in that sort of environment day in and day out can be rather tiring. I was thinking, the drama point would come in during the middle of a lesson when Chaturi finally decides that she's had enough lessons, and claims that she would rather have been the foal to be taken away by her father, so she wouldn't have to deal with her mother's constant nagging about behavior and etiquette. This could provide food for future fights, or for a resolution in the family, and thus either separating Chaturi from her mother, or making them grow closer in their bond.
Traveling - Another idea is to latch onto the part of Kadentsu's description where she mentioned traveling. It would be a good way to satisfy Chaturi's desire for adventure if she were to go traveling with her family to meet other Soquilli. Maybe she would start doing what her mother does, and go around for the purpose of helping other herds. Just a thought. Either way, I think it would be a nice thing to roleplay around, though it might be a little tricky.
Sibling Rivalry - Sort of a generic idea. With two siblings and one parent, there's bound to be a competition of one sort or another, trying to be Mama's Favorite Foal.
(( Note: While I wrote this with a girl in mind, I'm absolutely alright if Chaturi ends up becoming a colt, as opposed to a filly. ))
Basket Name: Kurai Teisei ---Meaning: Dark Whisper - Japanese Temper: Perilous Pesonality: Kurai likes to answer to Rai the most for some odd reason. The meaning of just Rai is defeat. So answering to this gives Kurai the idea that this nickname gives him power to be un-defeat-able. With this kind of mind set it is no wonder Kurai is a bit of a trouble maker and gets into dangerous situations when on his own. Hopefully he grows outta this once older but doesn't look like he wants to. He would rather keep himself like this unless he falls in love seeing he would hate for his lover to be in danger. Though that gives him chances of looking cool by saving them.
Loving trouble and danger it is nothing boring for Kurai who seems to look for danger and trouble only to enjoy to thrill of finding a way outta it. This is one thing he will never tire of. It brings him a since of being alive that nothing else seems to be able to do for him. Kurai doesn't have a death wish just wants fun and this craziness of his is just that. Fun.
Prompt Choice: 1 Prompt Post:Kurai was watching Mommy who was talking to Makoto about something. Oh my what a great chance to go see the world without mommy on my back thought Kurai. Not allowing this golden opportunity to just disappear Kurai takes off at a dead gallop into the forest around them. Slowing down once outta mommy's sight as Kurai prances in place for a few moments checking out the area. Then on my what was that? Trotting closer to something that looks like a small creature. Maybe it could be a rabbit or something else.
So itching closer and closer to it Kurai believes that on this adventure he will discover a new creature. Although once close enough all it is cloth. Either a human or Soquili had lost it maybe. Trotting off in a different direction as a yawn comes about after all it is mid-day and about time for a nap. Shaking his head in order to keep awake Kurai runs into something big and soft. About to bow and say sorry like mommy taught him. He hears a roar as his head snaps up. The big and soft thing happened to be a bear. Oh no thought Kurai. Spinning to turn about and bolt off on a full gallop back to where mommy is. Not looking back to see where the bear might be at. After all the only think Kurai has on his mind is find mommy she can save me. She is so brave and strong.
This is where Kurai learns that trouble and danger follow him. This is the first time Kurai learns this fact about himself and at the start of this it scares him seeing he is only a few months old. But later in life around eight months old he starts to loves the thrill of it.
Plot Ideas: I am better at RPing off the top of my head than plotting. ♥ To out smart a walker and get away unharmed. -- This is where while Kurai is out and about he/she ends up targeted and cornered by a walker. Using his/her brain and all that mother has taught Kurai out smarts the walker only to get home to family safely.
♥ Lessons by Mother -- I would love for Kurai to learn to fight from Kadentsu. This would most likely take place after Kadentsu realizes that danger and trouble are forever around Kurai.
♥ Sibling Play -- I would love some type of Sibling RP.
♥ Saving my lover. -- This is for when Kurai is an adult and finds a mare/stallion in danger and seeing danger and trouble follow Kurai he/she goes to save this mare/stallion only to fall in love.

Basket Name: Male: Rajnish ~ Raaj-neesh Female: Sarai ~ SER-ie ---Meaning: Male: Means "lord of the night" from Sanskrit रजनि (rajani) "night" and ईश (isha) "lord, ruler". Female: Means "my princess" in Hebrew. Temper: equivocal Personality: ((Besides a few common things, I wanted to play them differently depending on there gender. I hope this is ok but i will be putting different things for each gender.))
Sarai~ She is a little on the tentative side and very indecisive on things. She wants to go out and do more but she also loves to drag Makoto with her to do these things. She also likes to use her 'princess charm' as she puts it, to get her way. On saying this she loves being a princess but hates the responsibility that follow with it. While in no way dose she question her love for her mother or the fact she enjoys being here with her, she dose tend to wonder about her father and the real reason he did not stay with them.
Rajnish~ He is a bit fiery and hard to understand in his ways. He seems to have a goal to leave behind the 'prince' life and seek out his father and other sibling if for nothing more then answers as to why he was not worthy enough to come along. Raj loves his mother and dose thank her for all she has done for him but he feels this life is not the one he was meant to have, though the royal treatment is nice at times he could do with out the responsibility.
Prompt Choice: #2 Prompt Post:
Sarai~ It was a subject there mother seemed to dance around giving only the simplest answer to. Sure it seem fine when Sarai was little but now as she got older the answer seemed so vague and open ended. There was so much she wanted to know that had gone unanswered, but she worried about hurting her mother if she pressed for those answers. As she stared out the window she questioned her sibling. "Makoto, do you ever really wonder why father left? Also why did he take ----- and not us?" She talked in a very dreamy like voice. "Do you think father didn't like us. Where we to normal looking for him?" All the suden Sarai shoot up and stared Makoto in the eyes. "Or...you don't think..." She kept puasing not wanting to even voice this idea out loud, but what if... "That mother found them to... 'UNnormal' for the royal life, do you Makoto?" It was something Sarai wondered about being her own markings make her so 'unique' as others she asked had put it.
((I put the ---'s in place of the other siblings name as I figured they would be told there name but it just wasn't picked yet. Also this is one assuming the baskets have some markings like there father.))
Rajnish~ Raj kicked at the wall and huffed. Again he had gotten the same simple answer that answered nothing. No mater how many times he questioned it was the same thing always. 'They decided to go their separate ways.', but what did that mean? Raj was starting to get ticked off over this beat around the bush way of his mothers answers. He felt he had a right to know what really happen. This made him feel she was hiding things from him. With a final kick to a table in the room sending books flying about Raj decided he wasn't going to wait around anymore. "If Mother won't tell me I am going to find out myself then." He declared and went looking for Makoto. He needed Makoto to cover up for him yet again.
Plot Ideas:
Royal affairs: Lessons and responsibility, two words that are dreaded. Royal life isn't always fun and games and this little one is going to have to learn that lesson. ~ early life of royal teachings and there little misshapes in the house.
Old enough to know: Just why did father leave? Some things might need more explanation. ~ Adolescents brings questions to the table about there father and his lack of appearance.
And now it is mine: Adulthood brings responsibility. Taking care of your royal duties. ~ Adulthood means your lessons are over and you have to act on it now.
Family and Home: Games and togetherness. It's always fun to spend time with family. ~ family RPing is a must.
Adventure is inevitable: Children and open arias. Kids will be kids. ~ sibling adventures of the neighboring village and lands.
((These are just a few random ideas I have in my head to rp about with the siblings and family. I of course will plot out more to them if i own the little one with you but I didn't want to develop an idea to far with out the input of the other.))

Pink & Black Basket Baby!
Username: Insane Butterfly ~I plan on using this weather the foal be male or female. :3 Basket Name: Kotodama ---Meaning:
Kotodama or kototama (言霊?, lit. "word spirit/soul") refers to the Japanese belief that mystical powers dwell in words and names. English translations include "soul of language", "spirit of language", "power of language", "power word", "magic word", and "sacred sound". The notion of kotodama presupposes that sounds can magically affect objects, and that ritual word usages can influence our environment, body, mind, and soul.
Temper: Narcissistic Pesonality: Dama is completely comfortable staying near his mother, doesn't like to wander off, and generally likes the comfortable...consistency of home. He holds himself, his mother, and sibling in high regards, he has little to do with anyone else. Let alone wanting anything to do with anyone else. He thinks of himself as lovely, and has very high standards when it comes to the potential, possibility, of maybe having friends. Often times he can come off as cold and callous when speaking others, sometimes resorting in frightening individuals, just so they leave him alone. Prompt Choice: One Prompt Post: Dama wasn't exactly sure how Mokoto had talked him into venturing out in the wee hours of the morning. The sun had barley touched the sky when his sister had nudged, and tugged, and pulled, and bit his ear (which still hurt) just to wake him up. So here he was, trying to keep up with her, the dew from the tall grass soaking into the thin fur on his legs, making him increasingly uncomfortable, and hoping they would get back before their mother woke up.
His musings were cut short though when Mokoto passed where they were aloud to go, was going farther down the tree line, where he knew was past their boundary. He was about to call out to her when she darted into the dark trees. He was suddenly very sure they were going to be eaten today and their mother was going to be increasingly cross with them. He stepped up the pace and followed her into the thick copse of trees, and scanned about for her, unable to see her fair colors, his eyes narrowed as harshly whispered her name. "Mokoto! We are not supposed to be here!" He walked farther into the trees, sharp little hooves digging into the soft, loamy, earth. His ears swiveled to catch every bit of noise that he could. The only trouble was...there was no noise. Suddenly all he could hear was the blood pounding through his ears as his heart beat picked up. Forests were not meant to be so quiet, where were the twittering birds and scurrying squirrels? And for that matter...where was Mokoto?
Suddenly a large amount of scrambling and a yell startled him right out of his skin and his sister plowed right into him, giggling maniacally. "Hah! I scared ya', didn't I?" Laughter echoed in her words as she grinned, triumphantly, at Kotodama.
Dama didn't hide the scowl on his face as he glared at Mokoto while he got to his hooves. "We are not supposed to be here! Mother will be quite cross if she finds we have gone beyond our...our....." His gaze had moved past his sister to behind her, something huge and hulking was moving behind her, glowing eyes focused on the foals who were completely alone. He backed away and his eyes darted to his sister. "Run, Mokoto!"
The foals darted deeper into the forest, though tried to run in the direction of their mother, finding their way was increasingly difficult as the trees got closer together. They began scrambling their way under fallen logs and low hanging branches, getting tangled many times in their efforts. What ever had appeared behind them could be heard crashing through the forest after them, but due to their size, they had an advantage. Soon they changed course, the two foals bringing air into their lungs in ragged breaths headed for the opening, hoping that once they were there, they could find their mother easier. The problem? Less tree to keep the monster from getting to them!
They emerged from the trees, taking turns hollering for their mother, the sound of thundering hooves behind them drawing nearer until...
"Mokoto! Kotodama!" Their mothers sharp voice made them halt in their tracks. They were saved! Frantically they looked about, then slowly turned around. Their pursuer had been none other than their Princess Mother! In their fear and the contorting darkness of the forest, they had mistook her for something wanting to eat them.
Sheepishly, with pink tinged on their cheeks and their heads low, they walked to meet her, feeling very foolish for have wandering off without her, and then running from her in a panic.
Plot Ideas: ~Bewitched; A plot where an older Kotodama begins meddling in magics and voodoo, briefly becoming ensnared by the powerful draw it has to him, only getting out of it when someone close to him is hurt and he realizes how much of himself had gotten lost.
~Do you have what it takes?; A series of roleplays where Dama runs into a particular soquili on multiple occasions, and after relentlessly trying to shake them, he actually gives in and has a conversation, and this begins a rocky friendship that turns into a solid one. smile this could happen with multiple soq, but I'd like him to have a best friend.
~Royalty; Having been raised by his mother to have the proper etiquette of a prince, he is often aloof, head held high, and just because he is him, has little regard for others where it doesn't concern him. Here he would meet someone that doesn't quite fit his bill of importance, who stands up to him and doesn't take being treated so lowly very politely.
~Half a family; A foal RP, Kotodama meets a fellow foal who is raised by both parents, who points out that by him only having one, his family isn't whole, like the visiting foal. This causes Dama to question his mother about his father and learn of him what she can tell him. This also causes him to believe his family is never whole, though he doesn't voice it.
- If given the opportunity, I could have so many more plots and ideas for him/her! This character just seems to flow! ^__^ Thank you for the chance at being a part of this! It's been very exciting making this entry! <3

Pink & Black Basket Baby!
(Will use male pronoun but open to either) Username: One little jay
Basket Name: Avail ---Meaning: To take advantage of an opportuinity Temper: Energetic Pesonality: He is a bundle of speed, he is impossible to predict, his descions are not well thought out and often he leans more toward adventure. He love's running, it's his one passion. Though a passion that could get him in quite a bit of trouble. He is the essence of friendly most of the time, willing to talk to anyone and make friends where ever he goes. He does have a rash anger however and his ability to hold grudges is almost unparalleled. He see’s life as one big game and he is determined to win it. He almost ignores the fact he is royal, he doesn't want the responsibilities or the prestige it comes with.
Prompt Choice: One Prompt Post: Finally Avail could feel the grass beneath his hooves. He was gone like a bullet from the barrel of a gun. As soon as he was given even the slightest amount of free time he would run until his les could no longer hold him. Then he would pause for what seemed to him an eternity and to others was more than likely three seconds and he would start again. He didn’t like being cooped up by his family. He loved them and all but he needed to have his own space, he needed to have the freedom he dreamed of.
Avail admired the rouges and once he even ran with one, of course he knew this was dangerous running alongside a complete stranger who could have led him to his demise. They simply ran right through a river, where Avails legs barley scrapped the bottom. It was an amazing feeling trying to run against a current, he could feel the water pull on his muscles.
Avail was constantly in trouble around his mother and that was why he ran so far, he didn’t like the nagging. He didn’t understand how anyone could deal with it. Avail loved his mother as much as the next but sometimes he wished he could get her to completely let loose and run with him, just run as far as the world would take them, away from all responsibility to a land where all that mattered was having a good time. That was Avail’s dream, a world where they could run, and run into whatever trouble they deemed, a land full of wild horses.
Plot Ideas: Running too far: Avail has ran this path millions of times but this time he had gotten turned around and is completely lost. The missing link: Determined that his mother is wrong, he tries to convince his sibling to leave with him and help find their father. Slowing down to listen: Avail has such a hyper active personality that he never takes the time to register anything someone says. This time it's gotten him in troubble so he has to deal with a lecture that he ma just take to heart.
Basket Name: Regina Varda for a girl and Sang Varda for a boy ---Meaning: For the princess: Regina means “Queen” and Varda means “Rose” making her the “Rose Queen” For the prince: Sang is a word that has different meanings in different languages. In Vietnamese it means “Noble” while in French it means “Blood” meaning either “Noble Rose” or “Blood Rose” Temper: Imperial Pesonality: (Writing from the female perspective but the characterization will be roughly the same for a prince as well as a princess)
Regina was born to rule. That is the simple truth. It isn’t that she thinks she’s better than everyone else; she knows the fact to be true. She is descended from two great bloodlines and will do whatever it takes to live up to her name. She may come off as aloof to outsiders, but she cares deeply for her family and is intensely loyal to her mother and Makoto (however she has mixed feelings about her father and her unknown sibling). As a young princess she tries to follow her mother’s example as best she can, but while she strives to please her mother she’s uncertain if she is truly meant to follow that same path.
Regina is a social filly, curious about the world around her. She’s not fazed by her unique responsibilities as a princess and embraces the challenge of living up to the expectations bestowed upon her. She is extremely ambitious, proud, and she doesn’t like to lose. She might also have some deep seeded anger management problems that can bubble up from time to time in the form of a royal temper tantrum. At her core Regina strives to live up to her ancestry, but the question is will her more noble instincts win or will her darker impulses rule the day?
Prompt Choice: Prompt 2 - Their father is no longer in the picture, but he took one of their siblings off with him. Their mother gave them the simple answer that they decided to go their seperate ways, how does the little darling feel about that?
Prompt Post:
Regina sipped slowly at the water of the pond, allowing the coolness to wash over her. Morning lessons had been a bit more demanding than usual, mostly because she had finally broached a question that had been bothering her for a while. She’d asked her mother why her father wasn’t there teaching them these critical lessons, after all, if they were to be proper princes and princesses shouldn’t they have all the instruction possible? Regina hadn’t been satisfied with her mother’s response that her father merely went a separate way.
“Why would he choose to leave us?” she demanded of her rippling reflection in the water. She frowned as her every imperfection was accentuated by the waves and distorted. “Maybe he thought we weren’t good enough,” she bit her lower lip and paused only a moment before growling and dashing out the warped image with her hoof sending water spraying everywhere. With that the little princess folded her legs under her stomach and pouted. “But we’re…we’re of royal blood. Doesn’t he know how important that is? What that makes us? What more could he want of us?” She knew she was doing everything in her power to live up to the expectations of the family and Makoto was just was strong in her own way.
She blew a stray strand of hair from her eyes trying hard to ignore the sting of salty tears threatening to spill. “I should show him,” she muttered squeezing her eyes shut tight but tears of rejection gave way to tears of hate. “I Will show him!” she growled climbing to her feet. “I am a princess and I will not be treated like garbage to be thrown away. In fact,” she tossed her mane back and smiled slowly. “I’ll show him I am the best there ever was.” She didn’t exactly know what she would be the best at, but for now it was a goal, and she would climb, claw, and fight her way to the top – no matter what it took.
Plot Ideas:
~ I would love to have lots of plot with mom for this basket where she tries to instill the proper responsibilities of a princess in this little one. While she’ll take to the lessons well and go through the motions, the deeper meaning behind the lessons (ideas of caring for others and ensuring harmony) will be lost on the foal in her arrogance.
~ I would also like some plots with sibling- getting into scrapes as children, comparing their experiences as royalty and dealing with the pressure of the family’s expectations
~ At some point this foal is going to need to be grounded a little more in reality – depending on how she develops this may just be a humbling experience to knock the foal off her high horse or it could be an eye opening revelation that helps change the path of this princess to something a little more genuine instead of just going through the motions to “look” like the perfect royal
~ Adult RP with some on the job training for being a princess would be a lot of fun. Traveling with her mother, seeing problems experienced by neighboring soquili families and using her abilities to try and solve the issues (she really is a clever girl)
~ Always in the back of her mind is the idea of proving herself to her father – to show him how wrong he was to abandon her. While we know she’ll never have the confrontation she’s dreaming of, this does leave the opening for other male figures to come in and totally mess with her head. Gotta love the Daddy Issues card.
