I can't lie - I'm very new to the Sailor Moon fandom. And by that, I mean I'm watching Sailor Moon Crystal, and that is my first real exposure to it. I know that it is popular, though, so I figured that we needed a thread for it!

If you're new, there are plenty of SM things to see and read if you like what you see in Crystal, like the original anime, some really good musicals, and of course the manga that started this all.

As for my favorite scouts they are Mars, Venus, Saturn, Jupiter, and Galaxia (not in order of preference and yes I like them enough to say they all are my favorite ones). xd
Sailor Galaxia is a sailor scout from the STARS series of the original anime (for those that don't know).

If it makes any difference, the original anime deviated from the manga pretty considerably while this new Sailor Moon Crystal seems to be following it really faithfully.
Not that either rendition is bad. Just pointing it out.
I also like Sailor Neptune the most.

I watched a bit of Sailor moon as a kid but I haven't had the opportunity to watch the reboot but I really want to. :3 I've heard that its good.

Thanks for creating a thread for one of my all time favorite series. I've been a fan ever since the series came out in the early 1990's. Sailor Moon was my introduction to Anime in general. What got my attention at first was that it was filling a void. Most superhero groups were made up of male superhero's, Sailor Moon was one of the first serious attempts to have a group of female superhero's. smile

As you watch the series you will find out one of the other things that I Love about Sailor Moon herself. She goes out of her way to help out people that are in trouble, lonely, and bullied. In other words Sailor Moon truly cares about others. When I was growing up I was bullied a lot and I would have Loved to had someone like Sailor Moon to help me out. Keep watching the series and you will see what I mean. As for the original Sailor Moon series it's coming out on DVD again and Blu Ray for the first time on November 11th this year.

My favorite scout is Sailor Mars. She's my favorite for many reasons: Her fire attacks are cool, she does a take no prisoner attitude at times, and best of all she is psychic and does spells. Being born on Halloween I can appreciate Sailor Mars and Rei's ability to sense evil spirits and auras. Check out my Gaia profile page to see how much I like Sailor Mars.

I have in my collection 9 Sailor Moon series plushies. All of the Manga, Most of the DVD's, a very rare artbook created by the series creator, and fan art made just for me. A Christmas drawing of Sailor Mars, and a Painting of Sailor Mars and Sailor Venus together based on a photo that I took of a Sailor Mars and Sailor Venus cosplayer.

I watched a bit of Sailor moon as a kid but I haven't had the opportunity to watch the reboot but I really want to. :3 I've heard that its good.

I've watched both of the first Sailor Moon Crystal acts (episodes) so far and the graphics are incredible and the story line is following the Manga better. Best of all the opening song, Moon Pride, is very beautiful, was written for both the new and old fans of the series, and brought tears to my eyes when I heard it for the first time. smile

Yesterday the third episode (Act) of the new Sailor Moon Crystal series was steamed live and watched by thousands of fans. I'm curious as to what Sailor Moon fans thought about this third episode. I'm tight on funds right now so I couldn't see the episode myself. I will see the episode eventually. I imagine that it was just as good if not better than the first two. If I'm right Sailor Mars my favorite scout was in this third episode. I would like to know how well she was portrayed in the episode. I bet she was incredible. smile

Last Saturday I watched the 3rd act (Episode) of Sailor Moon Crystal. Just like the other 2 acts I loved every minute of it. smile Rei Hino / Sailor Mars made her first appearance in this episode. I watched what Sailor Moon does best in the series and that is to help others in need especially the loners, people who are being bullied, or misunderstood. She became a friend to Rei and stuck up for her when others were afraid of her gifts and pushed her away. Later on after a truly awesome transformation Sailor Mars looked at Sailor Moon and Sailor Mercury and discovered that she was not alone and took comfort in that. This is one of the reasons that I like the Sailor Moon series a lot. Their are some lessons of life to be learned and special moments that I feel are touching. Sailor Moon and Usagi are examples of how people should treat each other.
