Like most mornings, she had risen with the sun to get an early start on her day. It was her custom, even if there weren't any injured to attend to right away. She liked having that small bit of time to herself, feeling very peaceful while watching the rays of sun start to awaken the land. At those times, she didn't have to worry about fitting in or what she was going to say if someone tried to talk with her. If only the rest of the day could be like that.
With a sigh and a soft giggle at herself, River went to fetch fresh water for the few that still had injuries. There were not many, but fresh water would be needed for cleaning the wounds. And after that, she would see about searching for some more supplies for her dwindling healing herbs.
Which presented a bit of a problem, as it wasn't wise to wander off alone. Not that she had any intention of traveling very far from the Khalasar, but after Zanza's attack, the timid mare wouldn't even consider leaving without an escort of sorts. And that brought with it problem number two; who did she take with her?
Before she had time to really consider the question, a handsome stallion appeared in her mind, startling the mare. River found herself stopping in her tracks, so surprised she'd be thinking of Rhamiel. And blushing at the thought of spending more time with him. But... she did enjoy his company, and felt more at ease around him. That pretty much settled the issue. Yayo'jin would be busy watching over the injured. So she wouldn't be able to go. And the other mare still intimidated her.
After working up enough courage to ask Danaery's permission to take Rhamiel with her, River sought out the stallion himself, feeling a little giddy. And when she found him, she was shy all over again. "G-Good Morning, R-Rhamiel." She smiled. "I... I-I was wondering... If y-you're not b-busy today... p-perhaps you could j-join me in gathering s-supplies?"

The morning was turning out to be a good one. Rhamiel had risen early to check on the herd and do his morning rounds then took his place behind Daenerys. It was always custom to follow the queen rather than flank her so with a smile on his face and a skip to his step he settled into rank and waited, watching for something if anything to happen. What ended up happening caught him very off guard. River Nocturna walked to the queen and asked her something that he did not catch at this distance, and then shyly walked over to him and asked him to accompany her to gather things for her healer's art. He agreed instantly and smiled at her, "Well I find myself rather unoccupied at the moment and would love to join you, Miss River. What kind of plants do you need and where should we look?" His nose crinkled a bit as his smile grew.
Kyrieko Whee for new RP! I can't wait to see where this one takes her.

Not even her timid nature could keep the smile that blossomed from forming when Rhamiel said he wasn't busy. River was fairly certain her cheeks were darker but she just smiled at the stallion. "I-I am pleased y-you're free!" She murmured, smile fading only slightly as a thoughtful look crossed her features. "Well... I-I would like to t-try and acquire some aloe vera... i-if we can find it." Concentrating on what herbs she would need, River didn't notice the lack of stutter as she spoke. Though she did notice his smile. And ducked her head a little, turning towards a small path. "A-And... elderberries. I've j-just about run out of them." She paused, glancing towards some of the other herd members. "Maybe... v-valarian flowers too."
Setting out at a comfortable pace, River kept her eyes lowered, watching the shrubbery and plants. Occasionally, though, she'd glance at Rhamiel with a small smile, feeling nervous at realizing they were alone. Wasteland Wyvern A quick post before I flee for bed!

Rhamiel mentally listed the items to acquire. 'Elderberry, Aloe Vera, and Valerian Flowers...' After a few mental repetitions he had the list down and thanked his lucky stars that his family had a skilled healer in it. He knew most of the items she wanted by sight and some by scent, so they shouldn't have much issue finding them. Though Rhamiel wasn't against postponing their return. In all truth he wanted River all to himself but didn't want to scare the mare off. Noticing the darkened cheeks his smile grew bright. She was always cutest when she blushed. "Thankfully I know the plants you seek so this noble quest should be quite easy to accomplish Miss River." As an afterthought he mentioned thoughtfully, "I had a healer in my old herd who taught me much about plants and their properties. It must be dreadfully hard to have to keep a stock of some of these, considering their scarcity in arid regions such as this."

Her own mental list of plants kept cycling through as she glanced at this or that one. There were some she'd love to acquire, but new this wasn't the right terrain or season. And at the moment, she figured it was better to have the basic stuff on hand at all times to treat anything from a minor headache or trouble sleeping to swelling and pain.
The uni mare was startled slightly out of her thoughts hearing that Rhamiel was familiar with the plants. That was excellent! She granted him a true smile at that. "You do? T-That's perfect!" River was much more relaxed not having to worry about everyone else around her. Out here, it was just Rhamiel and he was very nice. And handsome. She couldn't deny she was happy to have him out here with her!
"Really?" River let her gaze fall on him, taking a break from watching the plants. None of them were the right ones yet. "T-That is a good s-skill to have." She nodded and then laughed softly. "Yes. Yes it is. But I do t-try to keep my other s-stock full t-t... to make up for it."

Rhamiel could see the fleeting glances she aimed at him and it made him feel very special. Her attentions were not something he deserved but he wouldn't give them up for anything. "With all the fillies and colts my old herd had we needed a full time healer for all the scrapes and bruises!" He shared with her how silly he thought it was, a secret smile on his face. He'd never really intended to leave his old herd but with all the drama that had begun he felt it was time to move on, ply his knightly trade elsewhere. Daenerys's herd had been a windfall for him. A place to call home. "If you like I can send word to my old herd with my familiar and see if Leilani has some of the rarer plants used in healing? Things from other climates maybe..." He wasn't nearly as knowledgeable as the alicorn and wondered just how much there was to this healing business. He grinned suddenly, "I am sure Danyla would be glad for a respite and a visit home." He said the word wistfully wondering now what the old family was doing... Then his thoughts turned to how fast the purple pronghorn would start mothering everyone there.

She couldn't help the soft giggle that escaped at the thought of it. Oh she could very much imagine what it would have been like with so many fillies and colts playing about! "I b-bet they had... t-the best fun times." River replied, a returning smile appearing on her face.
Surprise flitted across her face as she paused in her searching to glance at the stallion. He... would do that for her? It made River blush. "I... I-I w-wouldn't want t-to... be a bother... " She managed to murmur shyly, ducking her head a bit and focusing a little too intently on the weeds and shrubbery around the pathway.
Still... it would be useful to have those herbs. Especially since Daenery's herd didn't seem to be traveling near the climates she supposed some of the rarer plants would grow.
"I... w-would appreciate it. I-If they don't mind." Wasteland Wyvern omg I am so sorry! i thought i'd replied to this but i must not have clicked submit before... OTL

He smiled wistfully as his ice blue eyes searched the fields and bushes. "I will send her off as soon as we return from our task." He separated from her a bit and wandered over to a bush that smelled curious. Inhaling slightly he sifted the scent through his memory. "I think I may have found some of the Elderberries you needed Miss River!" His tone was a little hesitant, but he felt sure they were right. A smile on his lips he turned to look at her, pleased as punch.
