Things ran throughout the young shinobi's mind as he recollected that which had currently taken placed within the office. He still had a scroll which he had yet to open. He reached back into his shinobi pouch and took a grasp of the scroll which the Raikage had given him back at the office. He could only sit and wonder just what information was poured into the object and why the leader of the village would make him go to a place with none another around in order to open it. Apparently, it had something to do with an object that the Raikage wanted the young man to return back to the village. The Kaguya shinobi had not a single idea as to what exactly this object could be. He began to grow curious to see if this was something serious or simply a test. His fingers began to peel away at the sealing of the scroll. He allowed it to unravel and extend almost down to his feet.
His eyes started at the top of the scroll. It read: "This is your introductory mission. If failed, you will obviously miss out upon the opportunity to function within the Oinin faction of the village's military command. The mission is but a training session. What you do not know is that one of the Oinin has followed you in concealment. The Oinin withholds a red bow. This bow will act as a symbolic item which replaces that of a shinobi's forehead protector. Hunt down the Oinin and achieve the red colored ribbon. Once obtained, bring the ribbon back to the office. - Your Village Leader."
With this, the young shinobi allowed his eyes to deviate from that which he was currently reading. As he did he looked up and around the field full of cherry blossom trees. 'Too much pink,' he had an off thought as he tried to stay focused on finding the other shinobi that was spoken of within the scroll. As he looked about he realized there was a limb of tree that hung a tad too low; almost as if there was someone placed upon it. He tied up the scroll and began to make his way throughout the cherry blossom trees. His aim was the one tree that he spotted out as a place any other Assassin would take for hiding. As he approached it he began to find that he was correct in the location of the other ninja. For, as he grew closer, the Oinin would dispel the technique they were using to remain hidden. The Oinin then leaped out of the tree and began to make a run for it. The red ribbon was actually being used to keep the Oinin's mask tied to his face. 'So, acquire that mask and I should be good to go,' the little ninja thought to himself. The moment the Oinin had leaped from the tree the smaller Kaguya was already on hot pursuit.
As he ran behind the other shinobi he noted one thing: the Oinin that ran in front of him was of larger stature. The fact that he was of larger stature meant the young teen may have had a hard time fighting him, however, this meant he would not have that hard of a time chasing down the other Kumogakure shinobi. Considering this, he picked up his pace. As he did, little by little, he closed the gap between him and his target. He kept in mind a single equation. If the opponent was slower, yet of larger stature, his strength would clearly have been of a greater degree. As well, the other shinobi would probably be of a more physical type of class. He could only wait to find out as they each shot through the field of cherry blossoms.
It would not have been much longer to catch up to the man. Only several meters would remain between the two. As he glided over the grassy plains, the Kaguya boy began to manipulate the energy within him. He could feel it as it trickled up from his navel area and into each of his arms. Into his bones his energy began to seep. It traveled into the tips of his fingers. In that moment something rather odd - natural to a Kaguya - began to take place.
The skin upon the tips of his fingers began to split. Slowly, the skin began to peel aside as the tips of his bones literally began to protrude from within. Little by little, each individual finger began to show a white, bony tip. They kept growing until they were about a centimeter outside the casing of their fingers' skin.
It was then that the Kaguya boy began to feel and immense amount of chakra build up. The energy began to form itself behind this protruding finger bones and began to become pressurized. As the Kaguya concentrated the bones abruptly shot forth from each of his hands. The energy compacted behind them was so immense they tore through the air like raging bullets as the Kaguya performed the technique known as Ten Drilling Finger Bullets.
Ten white bones soared through the air and towards their target. Two almost immediately collided into the blossom trees due to slight trajectory complications. The other eight, however, flew directly toward the intended target. They were aimed for various points upon the other shinobi's body. These points being ones such as joints likes his wrists, knees, ankles, and elbows.
In an unexpected movement, the other shinobi twisted about and stopped in his tracks. He drew a blade which was about wakizashi length. It was a slight variant of the wakizashi. With a swift motion the other shinobi proceeded to block a total of five of these bones. Two others had struck the other shinobi. And, well, the third missed, caused it had seemed that this target was and Exploding Shadow Clone.
The eruption blasted down a few trees. Pink cherry blossom leaves flew about in every which way. There was more pink leaves than there seemed to have been green grass like that which the little Kaguya sat upon. He was squatted down and watching from a distance.
He sat behind cherry blossom tree and peered into the smoked out, explosive scene. "What a mess," he whispered to himself. He was almost half glad that he had not caught up and attacked within a close quarters combat range. This just lead the young shinobi to have a bit of a worry. For now, he knew his opponent had Universal Ninjutsu skills, as well as possibly being a physically classed opponent.
This situation was one which the young Chuunin caught himself debating over as he sat behind the tree. He cursed to himself. If that was just a Shadow Clone than where in the Hell was the real shinobi? He leaned his head back and let out a small sigh. Conveniently, enough he had looked up just in time to see an opponent coming down upon him with a wakizashi like blade.
The young Kaguya immediately up and leaped into the air. He performed a side tuck and landed several feet away from the attacking shinobi. He had only narrowly escaped the vertical attack.
On the other hand, the other Oinin he was "tracking" ripped his short-sword from the ground. He had attempted to stab the younger Chuunin shinobi with utmost intent, it had seemed, to kill. "This is not going to be made easy on me, is it?" he asked aloud as he formed a few handseals. His energy surged within him as he created two Raikou Bunshin (Lightning Clones).
There was now three copies of the little Kaguya boy. The muscular man of an opponent shot right into the direction of the three boys. In reaction to this, one of the Raikou Bunshin shot forward as it was flanked by the other lightning clone. At the same time, the real Kaguya boy threw an explosive tag towards the oncoming opponent, hidden right behind one of the lightning clones.
The opponent shinobi ran towards the three boys as fast as he possibly could have. He held his blade tight in his hand as he saw the first lightning clone run his way. Almost immediately after, he saw the second lightning clone right off to the side of the first lightning clone. He had not, in the meantime, seen the real Kaguya toss the rigged throwing dagger. His intentions were to slash the first clone across the waist with a horizontal blow. It was after this first slash he intended to leap to the second clone and take him out with a diagonal slash. Afterward, he'd leap toward the real Kaguya boy.
All off this thrown off as the young, real Kaguya made a single hand seal. When the first clone had been slashed the Kaguya activated a technique with a mass surge of energy. His chakra traveled from him to his clones as they exploded with the lightning elemental form in a Chuunin level technique; this technique was known as Dendou Bakuhatsu no Jutsu (Electric Detonation Technique).
The technique would cause both of the clones, which had been previously created, to explode with a mass amount of Raiton chakra. The surge of Raiton energy would blast outward in an attempt to ensnare the oncoming shinobi, which it had. The electric energy would travel up the wakizashi's blade and handle and surge right into the body of the other oncoming shinobi.
This surge of electricity caused the hunted shinobi to become stunned. His entire body froze in its movements. His muscles stopped. His nerves went on unresponsive. He was nearly frozen in place. All this, and then an oncoming kunai.
The entire time, the throwing dagger had been sailing through the air; right behind the two attacking lightning clones. This throwing dagger found its mark upon the wakizashi wielding shinobi. Right in the Kumogakure insignia of the mask, struck the throwing dagger. This throwing dagger was ordinary one. It was rigged.
Attached to the back of the throwing dagger was a seal. A seal that was rigged to explode when the user created a handseal. The little Kaguya lifted his hands into the need symbol. When he had there was another transfer of chakra; energy traveling from him to the seal attached to the throwing dagger.
The seal exploded. The mask upon the other shinobi's face blew to bits. The red material ribbon floated up into the air. And, the other shinobi nearly did a back flip from the concussive force from the blast to the face. The young Kaguya stood for a moment and watched, silently, as he peered into the fog created by the explosion. He wanted to be sure his target was down and out for the count. His eyes squinted for a bit. For a moment, he could not tell, and he did not want to find out his opponent performed something such as the Kawarimi no Jutsu (Body Switch Technique) at the last moment. The Kaguya was more than sure that the shinobi had been caught within the electrical blast from both of the lightning clones which had rushed him.
And, for a moment, there remained complete silence, and - as far as the Kaguya could see - there was not a single bit of movement. He moved from the spot which he was within with a very, heavily cautious movement. He began to channel his chakra as he did. Once more it was focused into his hand. As the energy had been focused bones began to grow through the skin of his finger tips once more. He was now only feet away from the other shinobi,
The explosive kunai had done quite the job. The Oinin would sure have to go to the hospital after this little event had unfolded. Regula had almost felt bad for the one behind the mask, for this training session would have left them a grand scar to remember it by. He only care, for it was a shinobi of his own village, otherwise he would not have give two ********. The shinobi was more than out cold, and would require immediate medical attention. This was already accounted for as more Oinin seemed to pile out of nowhere just to swoop up the body of the defeated opponent.
The young Kaguya watched as this had happened and wondered if it would one day happen to him as well. He began to let his raging inner spiritual energy subside as his current technique at hand was canceled. The bones which were remaining outside of his skin began to sink back in as his skin also began to heal over. It was a tad odd.
He walked over and looked at the ground at the bits of the mask and then the red ribbon. It had been partially caught upon fire, however, it was well enough to be used as a symbol of a "mission complete". He snatched up the red ribbon and slipped it into his pocket.
With a nonchalant walk he began to walk towards the direction of which he came. Once far enough he performed a single handseal. In a single wisp of lightning he was gone. He would then, appear in the Raikage's Office.

Such a peaceful place, the Blossoming Field. Jeyan typically never got to relax. So sitting beneath the pink aura created by the cherry blossoms was stress-relieving, to say the least. He sat and allowed his mind to be clear of almost all things. It was nice to observe things in a non-Shinobi way for once.

The blue haired Hyuuga and his domesticated grey wolf wandered aimlessly throughout the field filled with sakura. His heightened senses allowed for him to almost instantly recognize there was another about. The young samurai's dominant hand (left) gripped the hilt of the only weapon he carried: a tanto. Usually, samurai were to carry two weapons. This one, however, could never make up his mind on what he wanted to rely on for his primary weapon, or if he'd stick with the tanto for his primary. His future goals were to find a unique weapon of his own. For now, though, he wanted to spend some time alone with his pup. The two, to his surprise, were not alone. He could tell there was another there, but as of now pinpointing the other male's location was not of his concern. Yes, he knew it was a male, for he could smell the differences between the sexes.

The kunoichi had continued her travel from the village and through the field until her and her newfound student were deep into the fields. They would be discussing their capabilities. Something she did not wish to share with anyone outside, or even inside, the village. Ninja were to keep what they knew a secret. Were they not? She came to a place where she stopped.
The woman walked over to a broad-trunked tree and sat down amongst the roots. Most women had issues with dirt and the like, but she felt perfectly fine where she sat.
Her white eyes almost shut tight as she smiled from ear to ear. "For starters, I'm also a part of the Joukai. Not just the Hyuuga." Rested she was from the support of the tree at her back. She tilted her head back a bit as he eyes opened to peer up at the Sun. She loved the light.
After becoming caught in a form of trance she shook it off and began to speak again. "As I've already mentioned before, I'm a Medic. So, that means you don't have to worry about your own a** in battle. That's my job." She giggled. This would also mean, when sparring, the boy could fight her at his fullest. "I can also utilize Raiton... As well, I plan on learning sealing techniques eventually..." She struggled to think of anything more. She did know a handful of Taijutsu and Universal Ninjutsu but she didn't think the boy would be interested in such skill sets. "You?"

"For out of the ground we were taken, for the dust we are..."

Raiken walked over and sat down under the shade of the tree across from Hikari he crossed his legs upon sitting the same way a child would when they first learned to sit in school. Raiken would listen intently as Hikari spoke chuckling when she mentioned him not having to watch his own a**. As she finished he nodded taking a moment to commit everything to memory.

"What is the Joukai?" Raiken asked not knowing himself. He had learned about the main clans and bloodlines just wanting to cover the majority of cases but knew full well there would be a whole heap of clans he had not learned about. The word Joukai truthfully meant nothing to him and he had no idea what it meant as far as Hikaris abilities.

"Well I am not so broad as you." Raiken said with a sigh complimenting Hikari on her ability to be proficient in what appeared to be a great many fields. "I am limited to one type of jutsu though I am extremely talented with it." Raiken said with a confident smile. He had studied his abilities hard and had yet to come across someone with the talent he had at his age. "I have two bloodlines. Satetsu, and Wu Xing." Raiken said raising his left hand over the ground with his palm facing down and looking at the dirt as suddenly black sand began to pool at the surface slowly. Raiken clenched his hand shut and the sand focused into a small sphere made of iron that was very dense and smooth. "That's about it really. I am faster than those of my same skill type but when compared to taijutsu and other physical classes I would not recommend allowing me to be in physical combat." Raiken said with a slight chuckle. He had a very deep pool of chakra for his rank and this was done so that he could fight for a long time with his metal before tiring.

The lady knew of both of his bloodlines. She found it an interesting trait indeed; many Kumogakure shinobi seemed to possess these features in many different ways. It made her grow curious of the extent of her own Joukai abilities. Her light could compared to a laser, in ways.
She lifted a single hand and formed it into a seal. Above her, which would pass unseen by the boy, would be a form of chakra in the shape of multiple layers. These layers would intensify the light in a way a magnifying glass would do so.
A beam of intensified, golden light would stream down and set its aim upon the metal ball. It began to pierce the object as it was a technique capable of melting metal. "The Joukai are users of light," she said as she removed the handseal, and the technique entirely.
She looked over to the boy. "You are - in my eyes - a very useful young man." The young woman leaned towards the other shinobi as she placed her palms upon the ground to support herself. "What do you think of becoming a Chuunin pretty swiftly? Can you do it?" Her eyes narrowed a tad. This was the only thing she could question of the male. Be it he fulfilled missions swiftly the position should not have been hard to achieve. If he did as much she would question whether or not she would recruit another squadmate. Together the two could be more than a deadly combination.

As the light began to intensify and melt his orb of metal Raiken opened his palm and closed it again, the metal split and shed its melted component before forming. As she questioned him his deep blue eyes rose up to meet her white ones. "I do believe I can do it. I have already mastered all techniques at and below chuunin level so there is not reason why I cannot achieve it." Raiken said in a confident tone. In truth he had been pestering his kage about the opportunity he really wanted the chance to show the world his strength and Hikari seemed to be the first person to show interest.

"We may begin whenever you wish." Raiken said rubbing his hand against itself as his sphere began to disappear blowing away in the wind.

She liked the answer which she had received. Now, it was time for her to play her part as a sensei. Though she had nothing to teach the other just yet, and probably would never have to, she had something in mind to literally speed up the process of the man's Chuunin promotion.{{1/12}} "This will be a very rigorous training session," she began to speak. The kunoichi stood from the spot which she had currently sat. Her hands slipped into two of the many pouches upon her waist and out she pulled a brush and blank sealing tags.{{2/12}} "You will train for an entire year before you become Chuunin." Her eyes did not look over to the young male at all. Rather, she kept them focused upon what she was supposed to be doing.{{3/12}} She dipped the brush into a jar of ink. Soon afterward, she began to write upon the first of four tags. Upon this tag she wrote the kanji symbolic of the word south. {{4/12}} Her eyes glanced back up at the male. "Do not worry at all. This training will merely take a day in - well - real time." She could think of no other way to express the technique without fulling explaining it.{{5/12}} The kunoichi's left hand would move from the first tag to the next. Upon this next tag she began to write the kanji for the direction of east. The first two sealed tags would begin to lift into the air.{{6/12}} "I will be creating a barrier of seals," she began to explain to Raiken. She had looked up to glance at him to be sure he was paying attention. In a brief moment she looked back down to the third empty tag.{{7/12}} Upon this tag she began to write. This time she began to write the kanji symbolizing north. As the ones before it, this tag would also begin to hover into the air.{{8/12}} She looked up at Raiken. "The tags will be placed about accordingly in order to form this barrier. Within the barrier, time will move at a much faster rate." {{9/12}} Her eyes drifted back down to the final tag. The Hyuuga's hand moved with some speed. She was in a rush to complete the desired technique.{{10/12}} She finally finished the four seals. When she had they lifted into the air and shot outward. Each seal followed the direction given to it and went out towards the furthest end of the field.{{11/12}} Upon each tag she had written not only a direction but another seal as well. One known as... "Sumiyakaji," she said to Raiken. "This is the name of the seal I have used. It means: to speed time. Both you and I will spend a year with each other. Shall I not be satisfied with your results we will spend another year together. Understood?" {{12/12}}
Her intentions were to give both the boy and herself enough time to grow and mature into stronger shinobi than they were already. Being that they were now squadmates it would also give the two the time needed to bond. "Consider this your first mission under my tutelage, should you survive." She said this to mostly scare the boy for she was a Medic after all. The tags had reached their locations and the seal began to take its course.

"For out of the ground we were taken, for the dust we are..."

Raiken sighed as Hikari finished the barrier and told him the two would be stuck inside for an entire year. ”Very well you do not seem to mess around.” Raiken said with a smirk playfully bantering with Hikari. ”There are two techniques in particular I wish to learn, though I am forbidden from learning them as a genin. So I think I will almost finish the training on both and then once I become a chuunin I shall finish it.” Raiken said with a devious smile enjoying the little loophole he had thought up. Hikari seemed to chuckle at Raikens statement and nod in approval of it. Raiken sat down and reached into his back pocket pulling out a scroll with the satetsu clan jutsu. He knew exactly which techniques he wished to learn and was just going over the training methods again before beginning. The first technique he wished to learn was the signature weapon of his bloodline. Iron whip. Raiken had seen this technique demonstrated when he was young an certainly saw the merit in its ability so why not begin with something he could master before moving on to something he could currently not? He nodded to himself reaffirming his decision before tucking the scroll away into his back pouch and preparing himself to begin the training.

This technique was rather hefty but Raiken had an abnormally deep chakra pool for his rank and would be able to handle the cost with relative ease. Raikens left hand slipped free of his pocket and hung loose by his left hip. His eyes were staring off into the distance of the barrier as he took a deep breath calming his mind before beginning his training. ”Here we go. Just stay calm and everything will fall into place.” Raiken thought talking to himself. He was aiming to master this technique the first time he attempted to perform it an in order to do so it would take a considerable amount of concentration and focus. The boy continued to breath slowly calming his heart and mind so that he would be clear of any distractions or thoughts.

After a few moments of this repeated process Raikens eyes opened and a slight smile crossed his face. He was ready to do it. He nodded to himself in satisfaction as his chakra began to build and rise. Hikari would be able to see it with ease given those eyes of hers and she would note the nice flow and manipulation of his chakra as Raiken continued to mold it. He then flexed his left hand and opened his palm as suddenly iron sand rose out from the dirt and formed an iron handle into his hand. The whip continued to form for a few moments before stopping and Raiken looked down at it with a pleased smirk on his face. He snapped the whip and watched as it cut deeply into the ground with ease. ”Wonderful.” He said before dispersing the technique and turning his attention back to Hikari. Raiken walked over and sat down next to her letting out a pleased sigh. ”I believe that will be enough training for today. It will take almost the rest of the time to come close to mastering those two techniques and I should probably rest for the rest of the day before beginning tomorrow.” Raiken said watching Hikari closely hoping to see just how his sensei would react to his possible laziness.

Hikari shook her head softly with a smirk and ruffled his hair messing it up with a soft laugh. ”If you wish it is your time in here.” She said clearly giving Raiken the freedom he wished to learn or not learn as much as he wanted.

The next morning Raiken awoke and reread closely the requirements for the techniques he wished to learn. ”Oh right, I forgot to master those techniques… I suppose I could do that here and it would only aid in my training for the others.” Raiken said as he began to begin mastering as the stages of electromagnetic propulsion. Each morning he would awake and begin practicing for a solid four to five hours straight. Simply standing and focusing his chakra allowing it to flow from him and propel objects initially small but over time steadily grew in size and speed. It was very repetitive and boring work but Raiken was determined. ”Big things have small beginnings.” He would whisper to himself in the morning to re motivate himself on the days he would seem to lose focus. It was such a wonderful thing that Hikari was here with him, if she wasn’t he probably would have gone insane by now simply pushing objects by creating magnetic fields. Her soft personality seemed to be the perfect respite he needed and he medical ninjutsu aided him whenever his training went amiss. It was no trivial task spending an entire year training, and Hikari was a wonderful enough sensei to give Raiken breaks when he needed them and break up the training by speaking with him.

The two were beginning to grow close time was continuing to pass at an accelerated rate and Raikens focus had improved considerably. He would often spend his time training while speaking with Hikari asking her questions and answering the ones she had in return. Raikens life was not nearly as interesting as Hikaris but still the jounin seemed to somehow take interest in his words even though they were very average tales. Roughly three months had passed or at least that was what it felt like and Raikens technique was beginning to make some ground. He could now launch projectiles are considerable speed and with it cause considerable damage. Strengthening this foundation was a very smart move as it allowed all of the techniques in Raikens arsenal to become far more deadly. He had already mastered all techniques as chuunin and below for his bloodline so to be able to master this would make the techniques he had learned extremely useful and deadly.

Another three months had passed and Raiken continued to make progress it was important that he master this to the highest level he could before moving on. He knew full well that it would come in extreme handy and would be pivotal for his ability to increase as well as his goal become far more attainable. ”I am starting to get somewhere Hikari.” Raiken said with a pleased smile knowing that his mission was half over but by the time it had ended his journey in reality will have just begun.

Raiken nodded to himself becoming satisfied with his current mastery of propulsion. ”Just so you know the final three techniques I am learning I will not be able to finish until I reach chuunin. So I won’t have mastered any of then or be able to properly perform them until my rank becomes official.” Raiken said to Hikari knowing he had explained it already but he was repeating it to both remind himself as well as her. ”I suppose it is time to begin” He said knowing the final stage of electromagnetic propulsion was as close to mastered as it could be. He chose two techniques that were very similar to one another and it was an intentional choice. He knew he could train for both at the same time as the attacks were extraordinarily similar in nature. Raiken knelt over and picked up a very small piece of iron roughly the size of a small skipping stone. He held the stone between his finger and thumb pointing it off into the barrier. He was unsure of how durable this barrier was so he would simply fire it straight into the ground to avoid damaging the wonderful work Hikari had done. After a sigh to calm himself Raiken began to focus his chakra building and molding it as he did and in turn infusing it with his lightning element to give the chakra surge of electricity. As he did this his arm began to spark slightly from the energy and he flicked the small skipping stone and watched as it rocketed off into the ground burying itself a good eight feet down. Raiken raised his hand and opened his palm as the small piece of iron pulled itself free of the rock and came up into his hand. Raiken held the piece with a smile and flipped it into the air as he prepared to do this again.

Raiken continued to do this for weeks spending as much times as he could repeating the process until his chakra reserves were too low to continue he could not afford to do it forever which was the benefit of having Hikari around as she allowed him to pass the time when he could no longer train due to chakra exhaustion. He had become quite fond of his sensei, though he supposed it was only natural that while spending near a year together the two would grow close. They seemed to compliment eachother well. Raikens laid back demeanor and Hikari’s kind personality seemed to mesh well together and it was a good thing too. He probably would have bowed out by now if he didn’t enjoy spending time with the woman as the majority of their nights and mornings were spent conversing with a bit of flirting thrown in whenever Raiken felt playful. Though for the most part he spent it training. He could not help but feel driven, the closer they got to the year the more progress Raiken seemed to make each day. It made him only wish to work harder during the last few weeks together and he could not help but wish to finish what he started but he knew it would be impossible without that title. He was so close to becoming so much more formidable and did not wish to ruin it all by such a small technicality. So he would gladly abide by the rules and wait to reach chuunin to master those techniques. He knew it would not take more than just a few moments after receiving the official title to test and perfect what he had spent training up until this point.

Their last week together was upon them. Raiken could feel how close he was just by training for one technique he could feel the other two coming together. He wanted so badly to master them. He could feel how close he was, standing on the cusp of greatness and this power seemed to flow through him the same way he did through the metal he bended and it was an incredible feeling. An amazing sensation this rush of power and energy that flowed through him seemed like ecstasy. Hikari could easily see his rising level of enjoyment at the end of his training and it wasn’t something Raiken made an effort to hide from her. The two had spent an entire year together and Hikari had watched him train the whole time. She would certainly be able to read him now and he was happy to let her. She had been there with him the whole time watching over him and coaching him and even playing along when he flirted with her so how could Raiken have anything but thanks for his sensei.

The final day was upon them and Raiken knew he had come as close to mastering the three techniques as possible and walked over sitting down next to Hikari and looking upon her with gracious more adult eyes. ”Thank you.” He whispered softly. He could remember a year ago today when Hikari had asked him to be her student and brought him here. To think of all the progress he made was something that truly made Raiken smile, and it was all thanks to her. He let out a slight sigh almost wishing they could spend more time in here but Raiken knew it was time to leave and time for him to become a chuunin and finish what he had started a year ago.

{{Feel free to skip over the training posts and read the end, lol}}
And so, it had begun. A year's worth of training that would be compressed into a single day began. First thing the kunoichi fell to - beyond beginning the boy's training - was her own training with her newly awakened eye. Her eyes remained white, up till the points she activated her Byakugan. It was in this activation that allowed her eyes to take on a sanguine hue as she reached a new stage of her Doujutsu known as Neo Byakugan. It was in the mere training of this simple activation that she began to notice a technique that came to her almost naturally. Shuchu Boei, or Focused Burst, was a technique of her Kekkei Genkai she unraveled till she was fully aware of it's mysteries. {{1/1}}
The first technique was mastered with a relative ease. She had, in time, proceeded to move onto another technique within the Hyuuga arsenal. This technique was the only Genjutsu known to have been developed by her clan.{{1/8}} Not much of a Genjutsu user herself she would experiment with the technique upon her own Kage Bunshin. Several times a day she would train upon the perfection of the technique. Even with her superb chakra control the mastery of such a technique had proved to be a rather lengthy scenario.{{2/8}} It was not until a certain day of fate came that she finally realized the results of her attempt at the technique. The dismissal of her Shadow Clone allowed her to gain knowledge of just how far she had been progressing with the Genjutsu. To her shock, within this attempt she nearly mastered what she had intended. {{3/8}} On that day, the young kunoichi trained endlessly. There was seemingly no tiring to her limits. Her goals remained set upon the technique's mastery before the end of that "day". {{4/8}} With a finally dispersal of a clone she grew a tad aggravated with herself. She had not a clue as to why the technique had not been playing out as she would have liked it to. Flustered, she summoned up another clone.{{5/8}} Her chakra, by this point, she knew was far beyond stretched. She had but a tad left to utilize. It would be her last attempt at the technique before retiring for the night.{{6/8}} The young woman focused again upon her chakra. She calmed herself and her mind as she began to channel the energy up from her abdomen. From there it snaked throughout her body and into her hand.{{7/8}} The woman lunged forward and ensnared her clone. She struck it but a single, swift time. And, for a moment, the clone sat as it drifted off into an illusion before it dissipated. She finally learned Genjutsu: Akai Shinkirou (Red Mirage).{{8/8}}
After the completion of the Genjutsu the girl moved onto another technique. This technique was a higher ranking Taijutsu move utilized by the Hyuuga. It was a very strong technique, from what the woman could tell.{{1/5}} She started her training on the technique by first studying the scroll she possessed. The contents within the scroll helped greatly. She developed a rather decent understanding of just how the technique was to work.{{2/5}} She moved on from her studies to the physical training. The Hyuuga first started by training on her usual Juuken strikes. Her goal was to slowly strengthen the blast of her usual strike.{{3/5}} Eventually, the kunoichi moved on in her strength. Over and over her strikes grew stronger and stronger. Her strength increased to points where a tree or two would fall.{{4/5}} Finally, she reached the peak she had wanted. Her strikes became more than devastating as a single burst cleared many trees. She had learned Asai Kuyashi (Crushing Air Palm). {{5/5}}
After learning the previous techniques the kunoichi moved onto the final technique. This technique was the most powerful technique of her enchanced Doujutsu. Like most other Hyuuga techniques it fell beneath the category of bodily techniques.{{1/9}} She had proceeded upon the learning of this technique as she had the others. First, the woman began with the in-depth study of the scripture. It would take her many days to fully decipher the texts.{{2/9}} As far as she knew she was the only with such eyes. Others of her clan had not progressed thus far according to her knowledge. It was a strenuous task to understand the ability even after mastery over previous ones.{{3/9}} After the days she took analyzing the text of the scroll, she moved onward with her training. The kunoichi had felt confident of her current understanding of the technique.{{4/9}} Over the course of time she moved onto the physical conditioning required for the technique. She trained relentlessly with various versions of the Eight Trigrams techniques. Such techniques were precursors to the technique she had studied.{{5/9}} Many days she had spent upon the perfection of the technique at hand. It was a dubious matter indeed. She couldn't bare to wait for day her attempts came to fruition.{{6/9}} It was in the later days that she would begin to buckle down another aspect of the technique. In these days, she began to focus upon the more energetic aspects of the technique. This aspect would be the epicenter of such a technique.{{7/9}} Once more she found herself exercising her Juuken-Ryu strikes. The essential movement of the technique was an initial, energetic palm strike. Afterwards, a combination would ensue.{{8/9}} It had taken nearly a month for the Hyuuga woman to achieve mastery over the technique known as Ougi: 16 Trigrams 256 Palms. She had finally gotten it down after, about, the hundredth attempt. The woman was capable of performing it upon her clone with great success.{{9/9}}

In between her own training and Raiken's, the two obviously had moments of downtime and rest. Over the course of an entire year she had grown particularly fond of the only other human-being "trapped" alongside her. She was a friendly person, sure, but not much of one to just open up and bleed her heart out. The entirety of her life - up until the age of seventeen - was focused continuously upon the medical field and helping others. It was upon entering a phase of a self-centered ambitions that the kunoichi had sought out a position in a career field of espionage, assassination, intelligence, and interrogation as a part of the ANBU Black Ops. She wanted to not simply heal but acquire skills that would help her defend the village in the long run. This, obviously, had never occurred. Rather, a moment of fate - in her eyes - had allowed her to re-evaluate her expectations of the future.
She had met the young man in the office the very day she had gone in with a single request in mind: a position on the ANBU forces. Such a thought never even manifested into words as she had soon found herself in league with the slightly younger male. Even back then, her mind had been focused upon training the young man till the point that he was on par with her own skill level in order to enter the ANBU together. Eventually, even that ambitious thought slipped into nothingness as she forgot her own intentions as time literally flew by.
Over time she began to forget what she wanted in life. Rather, she began to focus more on the among the development of the other. He did well to intrigue her. Her interests in the boy had merely started off as the usual ninja inquiry; simply curious of his Ninpou knowledge. This was destined to change. Especially, as he began to break the barrier of student and teacher. At first, it had began with simple conversations as they discussed the little things in life such on their free time. It did not take much time at all for "getting to know each other" transitioned into friendly interface.
A boy and a girl. A student and a teacher. A friendship formed. One, of course, would push the envelope a bit further. Naturally, this was the male rather than the female. More than friendly remarks were given with words of the same degree of cute affection. Her eyes gleamed in delight as the smaller, flirtatious sentiments drifted to and fro as balanced as day and night. This boy meant something to her, and she had not even known it yet.
As time dwindled by every moment she experienced caused a slight shift in her own goals as a Kumogakure-nin. With ease, the thought of abandoning her desires for a Black Ops position ensued. Those who were sent on such jobs only came back bitter and aggressive from what they have seen and had to do. She did not want this for herself. Her feelings had grown strong as the year came to a close. Visions of the future missions she was liable to accompany the boy on often floated about in her mind's eye. Hope for a fair future arose within as the female finally allowed herself to realize her truer feelings.

"No need to thank me. You've earned it," she spoke before her lips placed themselves upon Raiken's cheek. "The experience was a truly helpful one." Towards the end of the year she found herself opening up to the boy in ways she had never to anyone else. One could argue he knew her better than anyone else at the time. He had slipped in and renewed her goal to help others, and he knew this. However, what he did not know was the change in her dreams; for, she spoke of wishes to perform special operations. "I must say: you have grown." In such a way it allowed a maturation in herself. "And.." Her cheeks tinged with red as she continued. What she was about to ask of the man was rare. Yet, the time spent together allowed her to feel fully confident in her choice of requests. "I was wondering - even with your Chuunin promotion - if you would be willing to continue to work alongside me as a partner instead of going of on your own?" Her voice caught a slight inflection towards the end. She, in truth, feared his reply but remained ready to dismiss it as just a question. Eighteen, yet, still shy when asking of certain things.

"For out of the ground we were taken, for the dust we are..."

As Hikaris lips touched Raikens cheek it was as if then sent a small pulse of electricity through his body. The sensation was like something he had never felt, his whole body tensed for a moment before relaxing even his eyes widened for a moment. It was the first time in his life he had ever really experienced contact like that from another person and it was not a feeling he would soon forget. He wasn't one to blush but Hikari would certainly see a faint red hue flicker across his visage if only for a moment.

Raiken had grown as well over this year both physically and mentally. He grew a bit taller and his training had put some more muscle on his body as well though he still predominantly maintained the thin athletic physique he possessed previously only it now contained roughly fifteen more pounds of muscle with no height gain the size would be noticeable different especially to Hikari. As she thanked him and mentioned how helpful the experience once Raiken nodded his head in agreement a soft smile crossing his face. "I agree you have truly helped me reach my potential." Raiken said giving Hikari credit for most of the progress he had made over the time they spent together. He knew he could not have done it without her and he certainly could not have done it without her in a day, the concept was still a bit mind bottling and needless to say Hikari impressed him even more now than before.

As she began to speak Raiken noticed the red coming across her cheeks only making her next words more intriguing as Raiken would focus in. As she requested he stay at her side as opposed to parting ways Raiken could not help but allow a small chuckle escape his lips. "Before I answer give me a few moments, There is something I must do." Raiken said before turning and dashing off into the woods. He had out grown his current appearance and found both his outfit and hairstyle a bit too ostentatious for his now more matured sated.

After about fifteen minutes or so a man came striding up whos eyes seemed to match Raikens exactly. This was because it was in fact Raiken. He had gotten a haircut for sure and died it black, as well as trading in his vibrant cloths for a set of robes much more inconspicuous in nature and appearance. Though he still had some spikes in his hair it now took on a much more reformed and respectable style. Raikens new appearance made his look the rank no longer appearing like a child but coming across as a young man who at least in Raikens mind better reflected the goals he wished to attain.

"I hope you like it" Raiken said raising up his arms and looking down as his robes. "I want to be the strongest metal user in all of the world, and I believe this better reflects that... Plus I can more easily store Iron sand in these robes." Raiken said admitting his last outfit was a bit small and prevented him from hiding things. Raikens look would obviously show he was quite pleased with his new appearance the robes were easier to move in and actually breathed better allowing him to keep cooler more often. Plus they were far more comfortable. Raikens gaze returned up to Hikari hoping she would like his choices. He had come to respect her opinion more than anyone else and wanted to know it here.

"I wouldn't want to do anything else besides be alongside you." Raiken said softly. He intentionally chose the words he did. He enjoyed working with Hikari this past year but more than anything he enjoyed being with her. His whole life he had been alone and spending an entire year with just one person gave him a new perspective on life and in turn something new for him to care about.

Raiken had an exquisite taste that caused her eye to fall upon him with an odd and new feeling of a strange appeal. The new, dark hair which rested upon his head was an unexpected, yet adored, change about him. She had to keep her cool. From what she evaluated Raiken - as much as he was a fit combat partner - was beneath her line of standard in Jutsu knowledge. "I do like it. It suits you well," she spoke as her eyes casted to the side and seemed to observe the floor more than the other teen. As much as she adored the other's appearance she still needed to reveal the fact that his previous training had not cut it. Ninety percent of their time had passed through training and learning and not much surviving.
Hearing what the boy had to say in response to her question it was clear her shy eyes began to sparkle with a hint of joy. It had been just what the woman wanted to hear; in many, many different aspects. As well, with an answer like that, she feared not revealing what she had in mind. "You must spend yet another year in training with me." Once more she began to draw forth the construction plans for the barrier. "I will train alongside you this next year as well. Afterwards, we will spar. The final spar will conclude your testing. You must deliver a blow strong enough for me to have to perform medical procedures upon myself. I will only ask one thing of you, though. I wish for you to specifically train within one of Kumogakure's Taijutsu style Rokushiki (Six Powers)." She tossed him a scroll withholding the information. Her eyes looked to the sky as she pondered upon what else whe wanted him to learn.
"Other than that, nothing comes to mind. If it is possible for you, try to learn both that style and another one of your choosing." In case it would happen she'd get in his guard, which was likely, he wanted the boy to be prpepared for her physical prowess. The seals had finally been placed. "Feel free to begin whenever you'd like.". She had slight intentions of growing closer to the boy.

"For out of the ground we were taken, for the dust we are..."

Raiken smirked as Hikari said he would need to go another year in training. ”I am beginning to think you just wished to make up an excuse to get another year alone with me.” Raiken said softly almost in a whisper his words laced with a very playful tone as he spoke.

As she tossed him the scroll he tucked it into his robes nodding. He would do as she asked but after he finished his own training it was important to him that he finish what he started. He needed to finish his training in order to fully become a chuunin not just in rank but in his own mind. Hikari had said he needed to train more with her and while Raiken was being playful he agreed with her words. He did not feel as if he deserved the rank he had attained and so only more training would help. As the barrier was put up Raiken sighed beginning his training once again. This was important he needed to do this. He began to train not just with his jiton but everything. He would train for about an hour physically exerting himself to the breaking point before stopping. He would then begin training mentally with Hikari, going over strategies and walking through fights the two would have out with words to train his mind to think quickly on his feet. He could not help but flirt a bit during their battles. Hikari had grown over that first year and the first day they met Raiken had noted how beautiful she was so he would get off topic which sometimes resulted in him losing but he could not help but enjoy doing it with Hikari. She was a very nice woman and seemed to enjoy Raikens playful nature so how could he resist. After that Raiken would begin training his strength, satetsu. Raiken had grown stronger in this field and it was rather easy to improve this natural ability after the year of previous training. A few weeks had passed and Raiken could already feel the difference in strength. He felt faster and stronger, still no contender to a taijutsu class but against other people of his own class he could feel the difference. ”You were right.” He found himself admitting to her, Hikari was only a year older than Raiken yet she seemed to know so much more than he did. Raiken was greatful and let out a sigh of relief after about a month in feeling that it was well worth the time.

”I just need to finish up these last few techniques and then I will begin mastering that fighting style.” Raiken said with a smile as he was excited to begin working to master the techniques he had started over a year ago. Patience was something Raiken did not have when he began this journey with Hikari but she had taught him that. He let out a breath relaxing himself, he had very little left to learn from each technique and it was something he could do rather quickly. ”I am ready” Raiken said preparing to begin. He resumed his training with electromagnetic push knowing he needed to mast that technique before he could move on to the other two far more deadly attacks. He stretched a bit and then resumed the training, focusing on building and manipulating the magnetic field he created so that it would bend to his needs. He had mastered every other stage of this technique so it was already at quite the high level it just needed the final push to finish the technique. He smiled with satisfaction as he felt what he had done was mastery of the technique. ”Two more.” Raiken whispered intent on finishing this today so that he could spend the remaining time training to what his sensei wished.

Raiken opened his hand and lifted it up and as he did a small piece of iron wriggled free from the earth. Raiken clasped it as it flow up to his palm. His left hand shift as his fingers slid the piece of iron up in between his index finger and his thumb. He then aimed it at the ground and a massive amount of chakra surged through his body suddenly. He flicked his thumb out and as he did the piece rocketed off into the ground burying itself at an extremely alarming rate going far deeper than Raiken could have imagine. As it did a sigh left his lips a different kind of sigh. A satisfied one, Raiken had spent a year working on this technique and the work had finally paid off. He looked over to Hikari with a smile it was a soft one, one that reflected how much he had grown in the past year with her.

Three months had passed and Raiken was ready to begin learning the taijutsu style his sensei had prescribed him. Raiken began practicing the stages not really a fan of taijutsu but he knew his sensei was just trying to do what was best for him. He supposed that if she did not have him learn this then there could very well be the chance that he would be weak to certain types of attacks especially if the person he was fighting was able to bypass the distance he would attempt to create. He knew that this was necessary even though it was not his forte. As he began his final stage he found it took far longer than anticipated. This could be due to his lack of talent for hand to hand combat or it could be that he found himself talking to Hikari far more than he was previously. He would train four three hours every day but after that he could not help but spend the rest of the day with Hikari. He greatly enjoyed her company and the more he talked with her the more interested he found himself becoming. He would admit he could have probably trained harder but at this point he really just wished to get to know his sensei more. If the two would be working with one another so closely Raiken knew he needed to know as much about her as he could. That and he found himself drawn to her. It may have been her interest in him as a student but whatever it was that started this interest it had truly blossomed.

Raiken typically was rather aloof but he had no reason to be so around her. Partially because of how kind she was but also because the two were alone in here. It was an odd sensation and gave a sort of end of the world feel to their relationship. As if the two were the only remaining left in this world and Raiken so of enjoyed the feeling it removed all other distractions from the world and let him focus on his training and her the only two things that mattered to him.

As the year drew to a close Raiken had finished his training on the first two stages and looked to Hikari for what she proposed they would do next.
