Late night in Destiny City. According to the news, it was a dangerous time to be out, what with the kidnappings, disappearances, and random attacks that seemed to plague the city. Liena was unafraid. She was fairly certain that if push came to shove she'd be able to deal with anyone that might "ambush" her. Or at least run away, if that was needed. She was fit, and she could hold her own in a fight. How scary could any vigilante be? They were, after all, still human.
She shifted the strap of her bag. It was already starting to dig into her shoulder, heavy with books and notes. She stepped off the main road, and decided to take the short cut through the park. Overhead, a lamp flickered. Liena didn't even notice.

It was really unfortunate for Liena that one of those "vigilantes" happened to be prowling the park she was walking through. Equally unfortunately, it was Corrupt Sailor Kerberos - not particularly fun on the best of days, but given that he was still raw from Avalon being reassigned to <******** England, he was even less so.
He waited until the poor girl was near to some trees before he darted out, inhumanly fast, grabbing for her arm and intending to yank her back so he could drain her energy. Hell, maybe even pull her starseed.

She hadn't even seen him coming. Liena had barely registered someone grabbing her before she was yanked into the nearby trees. Her bag slid down off her shoulder and hit the ground with a dull thunk as she reached up to smash her attacker's face in. She would teach that a*****e.
But when she turned her head, she was face to face with the gaping hole in her attacker's chest.
"What the..."
Whatever this guy was, it wasn't human. Or at least, not any type of human that Liena had ever seen.

Kerberos was already starting to drain her, once he had his hands on her. All it took was a touch and he could start pulling. There was something gratifying, too, in her fear - it wasn't often that he remembered that there were genuinely terrifying aspects of his appearance as a Corrupted Senshi, but it always felt good to remember when he did.
"Ssh, I'm not going to hurt you - much."

She started feeling tired. Not the kind of tiredness that followed a good work out, but the kind of sapping tiredness. She felt sick, like her entire body was losing feeling, as if she could just fall to the ground right now. It was as if someone were leeching the life right out of her. Which was impossible. Clearly. Almost as impossible as someone having a god damn hole in their chest. Considering the past few minutes, she supposed that even the impossible was seemingly possible.
Liena raised her arm, as if to shake off the one grabbing her. But she could not find the strength. For the first time in a very long time, Liena felt powerless. Is this it? She thought. Do I just give up without even a fight?

Kerberos considered himself rather lucky. So far, he had sensed no auras to interfere, and that was all he wanted, really. He'd drain this civilian dry and then move on, without having to deal with some self-righteous Senshi idiot.
He stepped away and released her, a glowing orb of energy between his fingers. "There's a bench not too far from here - I recommend a nap," he said, and there was a slightly sarcastic edge to his tone.

The corrupt might have been glad to get away without fighting another senshi, but he was certainly not going to get off Scott free.
"Drop it!" Shouted a voice as a grey streak burst from the bushes, bounding across the grass as a small light began to glow. Skidding to a halt, Ash braced all four dainty paws and let loose with a modified kitty beam aimed for the hand holding the energy ball. Ohgodohgodohgodpleaseletthiswork...
Normally, Ash was not one to put herself in the way of danger, but when the guardian had seen the corrupted pulling energy from the young woman... she had acted without thinking. There was a desperate sense of urgency to saving this civilian and now, crouched fiercely in the grass with her tail a bottle brush behind her, the Burmilla hoped that whatever it was that had set her instincts on high alert was worth the possibility of getting punted half way across the park.
A burbling growl, that horrible sound a cat makes when truly angry, rolled from Ash's throat in warning and her tail whipped back and forth behind her, waiting only to see if the energy was released or not before hightailing it back to safety.

When the man, monster?, released her Liena stumbled backwards. Her legs were weak and though she willed herself to stand, she could not. She fell backwards and landed flat on her bum. A glowing orb of energy appeared in his hand and she knew it was meant for her.
Liena could only stare in a horrid mix of wonder and fear. But before the man could attack her, a voice burst through the air, followed quickly by a beam of energy. The girl turned towards the source, looking for the speaker, but could only find a cat. A talking cat. A talking cat that could shoot out lazor beams. She wasn't nearly as surprised as she should have been. It looked like her eventful evening was just beginning.
She stood up, blood once again rushing through her veins, and took a quick assessment of the situation. Run was the thought that echoed in her head. She should pick up the cat and run. But Liena could not. She did not want to run. She wanted to fight. She was not a helpless maiden to be flung around at someone else's will. She needed to prove that, to him, and to herself.
The girl walked over to the bristling cat and knelt down besides it.
"Thanks, I think I owe you." The absurdity of talking to a cat and asking it for help momentarily crossed her mind. "Got any other magic tricks I should know about?"

Kerberos stumbled back when the beam of energy struck him, and stared down at the growling and challenging bundle of fur in front of him, attention now completely diverted from the civilian he'd been draining. She was no concern, not when he had an actually magical foe to face. "Oh, my god, are you joking," he said, shaking his head slowly in something approaching bemusement blended with a hell of a lot of frustration. A Guardian Cat, of all things to show up and get in his way. The one thing on the Order side he would actually not like to punch, even if in the most abstract sense his sister's death rooted to a cat who had given her a pen.
There were lines, all right, and one of them was kicking small furry animals. Particularly small, furry animals that were putting on a very good show of being brave.
Why the hell couldn't he have one night, one goddamn night where he went out, collected some energy, and everything worked according to plan? Why was that so much to ask for?
"Yes, because my best plan tonight when the General I serve under is in s**t with the Negaverse is to prove my loyalty and devotion by giving up the energy I've collected and showing back up with nothing. Get out of here, cat, and I won't have to hurt you."
It was bluster, a lot of bluster, but she didn't know that. He hoped.Minsuil i figured the plan was to have him retreat once Iphigenia was Awakened? So he'll exit once that happens, unless you'd like him to boogie out sooner<3

The Burmilla spat at the corrupted senshi, a little bundle of feline fury disguising more fear than anger.
"Don't think I'm helpless just because I'm small." Ash growled, putting more confidence into it than she really felt. A small, pointed ear twitched back as the girl she was attempting to protect joined her. There was a feel to her, something that roused instincts she'd felt before, and it gave the guardian a surge of hope. Yes, they could salvage this.
Something fell out of the air behind Liena's shoulder as the silver cat twitched her tail, green eyes trained on the other senshi to make sure he wasn't making a move, thumping softly to the grass behind them.
"Just one magic trick left... When I rush him, take that thing behind you and say 'Iphigenia Asteroid Power, Make-up', got that? You'll know what to do after that, just listen to your instincts." Ash said softly to the girl, hoping the distance between them was enough to keep their enemy from hearing her. This was going to be a risky move, but she couldn't let him watch or it would break the glamor... so a distraction was in order of a daring and risky sort. Could she do it? This wasn't really her thing, but she had to.
"Go!" The cat called as her forehead began to glow and a second kitty beam shot out from her star, once again mitigated by the component the guardian had built into her headset. As soon as the beam cut off, the cat rushed forward and seized black cloth in her teeth, gathering her small body for a prodigious leap upwards. Making it all the way to his shoulder while dragging his skirt wasn't going to happen, but hey, that's what claws were for, right? The guardian put them to good use in her assent upwards after the first jump, dragging cloth behind her to impose between his eyes and the new senshi waiting to awaken.

Liena tilted her head just a fraction to look behind her shoulder at whatever had fallen from the sky. It was some sort of pen. She grabbed it and nodded to let the cat know she had heard and understood. As soon as the cat leaped, Liena gripped the pen. Here goes nothing.
"Iphigenia Asteroid Power, Make-up!"
Something akin to fire ran through her body. Liena closed her eyes. And when she opened them, she no longer just Liena, but someone different.
She clenched her fists, and unclenched them. A heady wave of confidence surged through her and vanquished all her previous doubts and fears. Iphigenia raised a hand and felt power fill her palm. She cupped her hand and soon, a small ball filled with swirling silver light sat there.
"Aulis' Promise!," the new senshi shouted as she sent the magic flying towards the enemy.Songstress Kitsune Aulis' Promise Iphigenia makes a small ball of energy filled with swirling silvery-light in her hand and fires it at an enemy causing damage akin to being hit by a paintball. Upon contact, it shatters and dissipates.

Kerberos yelped, thoroughly distracted by the cat leaping at him. He shoved down at her. "Get off me!" He yelped, staggering back and grabbing for her fur. Finally, he caught her - just in time to feel the bloom of an Order aura, on his own level. Normally, he would be all too happy to stand and fight.
Tonight, he had been kittylazer'd twice, had a cat try to use his own clothing as a blindfold, and smacked with a Senshi's magic.
He grabbed the cat by the scruff of her neck. "I'm out," he said, and then he threw her, directly at the Senshi, and backed away. "I'm out, I'm absolutely done dealing with this bullshit," he said, and then he turned and ran.
Not one of his more glorious moments. God, he hoped Avalon never found out about this.

Suffice to say Iphigenia was disappointed when the blue-haired freak ran away. She was rather looking forward to beating him up in retribution for her own beating. She meant to follow him (did he think he could just walk away from her?!) a give him a thorough smacking. But then he tossed the poor cat straight at her face, and, well, the cat flying through the air took precedence. Iphigenia held out her arms to catch the kitty, her savior if she thought about it, all the while watching her attacker's retreating back.
He could run away now, but Iphigenia would get her revenge one day. Of this, she was sure.Songstress Kitsune Thanks so much! *V* I'd love to have Kerberos meet Iphigenia again if that's okay w/ you.

The glow in her senses of a newly awakened senshi filled Ash with smug satisfaction. Stupid corrupted... they were going to show him! The ping of magic striking him made the guardian horribly proud of her new charge, though the good feelings were fleeting.
Ash yelped as the corrupted snagged her around her scruff, her small limbs flailing with outstretched claws for purchase on something, anything, in a desperate bid for freedom. This was so, so bad... she wasn't a fighter, she was the cat behind the computer, and this was really, really going to hurt!
A yowl broke from the guardian as she was flung, turning end over end as she struggled to orient herself to proper gravity and somehow find her paws before she smacked into something very hard and unforgiving. She'd done that once, it wasn't fun and had ended with her needing bandages and bed rest for longer than she liked.
Suddenly, arms arrested her flight and the warmth of senshi aura surrounded Ash as she found herself held securely by her new senshi.
"Oh, thank goodness..." She sighed heavily, going limp in the girl's arms. "Iphigenia, darling, you are a life saver, did you know that? I'm sorry about the abrupt awakening, but a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do when evil menfolk are causing trouble. I'm so proud of you!"

The warm bundle settled into her arms. If Iphigenia were the type of girl to blush at praise, she'd be redder than a tomato right now. Thankfully she, like Liena, took everything in stride. The praise she filed away into her mind, to be revisited when she needed it. For now, the girl looked down at the cat in her arms and smiled.
"I think that makes us even then."
She walked over to the grass and gently set the cat down. Iphigenia settled down on the curb and stared upwards at the street lamp. Well. That was an exciting night, but now that the adrenaline and fear were gone, she needed some answers. What to ask about first though? The taking cat? The boy with a hole in his chest? Or the fact that she was now wearing a white and blue dress. She held out her wrists to examine the silver cuffs that now adorned them.
"As far as magic tricks go, I have to say that was pretty impressive. Any chance you'll tell me how you did it?"
